[2] The title of the sermon today is “REVELATION CHAPTER 3.”

Continuing With The Fifth Church Of Revelation

  • We’ll be going through Chapter 3 verse by verse today so please open your Bibles to Revelation Chapter 3.
  • In Revelation Chapter 2, Jesus began giving messages to the 7 literal churches that were in Asia at the time that John wrote the Book of Revelation.
  • The time of the writing of the Book of Revelation is towards the end of the first century when John was in the Island of Patmos.
  • We went over 4 of the 7 churches in Chapter 2 so we’ll continue with the fifth church right now.

[3] Revelation 3:1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.

  • We’re looking at the Church in Sardis. Jesus is the one who has the seven Spirits of God.
  • We went over these previously, but you can find these 7 Spirits in the Book of Isaiah Chapter 11.
  • The 7 Spirits are the Spirit of the Lord, wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and the Spirit of the fear of the Lord.
  • The seven stars are the angels of the 7 churches.
  • Jesus is speaking to us here in every verse of this Chapter so let’s pay attention.

[4] Revelation 3:2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.

  • Jesus is telling them here that they have a “name” that is living but are actually dead.
  • He says He has not found their works perfect before God.
  • What does Jesus mean when He says they are actually dead? He’s talking about their works here.
  • These are saved people. They are His church, but their works are dead.

Please understand that once you believe on Jesus, you’re saved and are alive forevermore.

  • This is a BASIC teaching throughout the entire Bible and one that you MUST understand to put together the rest of the teaching throughout the Bible.
  • Once you’re saved, you’re expected to do good works for God.
  • But, if you don’t, you’re still saved and going to heaven because He said you HAVE eternal life.

In other words, do you know anyone whose been saved in their life and now doesn’t do anything for God?

  • Oh yeah, those people are the majority. They aren’t hard to find.
  • In other words, they are saved but their faith is dead and not producing anything.

[5] James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

  • When the Bible says faith is dead does that mean the faith no longer exists? No.
  • Same with a tree. Think of a tree growing and producing seed/fruit.
  • When it grows and produces fruit, it’s due to its faith.
  • If a tree doesn’t grow anymore and doesn’t produce any fruit, you might say the tree is dead.
  • But, does the tree still exist? Is it still there?
  • Yes, the tree still exists but it’s dead because it’s not growing and producing fruit.

James Chapter 2 Doesn’t Say “Faith Without Works Doesn’t Exist.”

Notice that James 2:26 doesn’t say “FAITH WITHOUT WORKS DOESN’T EXIST.”

  • It’s says faith without works is dead.
  • Does it say the person who has faith without works is going to hell?
  • See: You can’t automatically see that and say the person that has FAITH WITHOUT WORKS is going to hell.
  • That’s not what it says. It says the person has faith without works.
  • Faith alone saves you because the Bible says so over and over again.
  • Back to Revelation Chapter 3.

The same thing is happening here with the Churches.

  • They weren’t doing good works so they weren’t growing and profiting Jesus Christ.
  • They were a dead church.
  • And there’s many of those same dead churches around here today that aren’t going out and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • Most of them don’t even know the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They don’t understand it, and it’s very simple.

But remember, Jesus is talking to His Churches so these are definitely SAVED people.

  • This is more proof that FAITH WITHOUT WORKS doesn’t mean you’re going to hell.
  • Think of this: There are days when you don’t have works to go with your faith.
  • You’re faith is considered dead that day. Did you lose your salvation?
  • Then, when you did good works a few days later, did you get your salvation back?
  • Then you lost it again another day. Then got it back? This makes no sense because salvation is eternal.
  • The Bible NEVER says you earn it by doing good works, then lose it when you don’t, then get it back, and so on.
  • That’s just silly, and I’ve believed that MYSELF because I listened to MAN and not GOD.
  • Now, we listen to God and we KNOW that we HAVE eternal life.

So Jesus, in Revelation 2 and 3, is giving us examples of good and bad things for all churches.

  • These were 7 literal churches in that time, but He wrote the book for us.
  • Many teachers and preachers around here will say that there are 7 church ages, and we’re not living in that church age so we don’t need to understand this. That’s a lie.
  • The Book of Revelation is written to us to REVEAL things that we need to know.
  • Revelation is REVEALING things to us.
  • Jesus is showing His servants things which must shortly come to pass.

For example, there are churches that were on fire for Jesus Christ at one time.

  • They have a great reputation, but NOW they are dead meaning they aren’t doing the good works Jesus wants them to do.
  • Does it mean they are going to hell when Jesus says they are dead? No!
  • They are saved, but they aren’t doing what God asks them to do.
  • They may still have a great reputation, but they just aren’t preaching the word of God any more.
  • What if someone hears about all the great works we do as a Church and they’re excited to come here and they get here and we’re all just lazy, not doing anything for God, and just sitting in Church daydreaming?
  • Going home watching TV all week, connected to the world, never growing in faith, never reading our Bibles, never producing any fruit for God.
  • That’s a similar situation here with the Church at Sardis. We don’t want to be like that.
  • Let’s continue in verse 3.

[6] Revelation 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

  • Jesus is telling them to WAKE UP, REPENT, HOLD FAST, and change your ways.
  • If you don’t watch, He will come on them as a thief and they won’t know when He’s coming.
  • We need to listen when Jesus talks.
  • And keep in mind, these are SAVED people He’s talking to here because He’s talking to HIS CHURCH!

If You Do Not Watch, Jesus Will Come Like A Thief

The Bible has symbolic meanings everywhere and it’s amazing.

  • You have to know your Bible to pick up on many of these. For example, when you hear “I will come on thee as a thief in that verse right there” this might remind you of 1 Thessalonians Chapter 5.
  • Again, Jesus is saying if you do not watch, He will come upon you as a thief.
  • He doesn’t say He is coming upon all as a thief. He says if you do not watch.
  • False teachers teach that rapture can come at any moment at any time because it’s coming like a thief in the night for everyone.

Well, let’s go back and look at where false teachers get this stuff and see if that’s what it says about the rapture.

  • 1 Thessalonians Chapter 4 is the most well known Rapture chapter and everyone I’ve known has always agreed that this is the Rapture in Chapter 4.
  • Let’s look at some of Chapter 4, and then we’ll see where Chapter 5 matches perfectly with what we see in Revelation Chapter 3 verse 3.

[7] 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

  • So right there is the end of Chapter 4.
  • This is clearly talking about the rapture.
  • Now look at the next verse in Chapter 5.

[8] 1 Thessalonians 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

  • We talked about this in the past Revelation Chapter’s teaching, but notice the first word is “But” which happens to be a conjunction.
  • This means it’s continuing to talk about the same thing.
  • No one in their right mind would argue that, but many people do so they sure aren’t in their right mind.
  • The word BUT right there is continuing the teaching about the rapture.
  • So, we don’t need to know the times and seasons of the Rapture. Why? He tells us in the next verse.

[9] 1 Thessalonians 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

  • He says: “I don’t need to tell you when the Day of the Lord is coming because you already know that the Day of the Lord cometh as a thief in the night.”
  • The Rapture takes place on the Day of the Lord.
  • If it didn’t, why would we not need to know when it was coming?
  • He says you already know it’s coming on the Day of the Lord.
  • Anyone who is sincere and wants to learn the truth in the Bible cannot ignore that right there.

But, the false teachers and preachers will continue to ignore that and make up fairy tales about the Rapture.

  • Their fairy tales are not in the Bible.
  • If you study throughout the entire Bible, Old and New Testament, the Day of the Lord is ALWAYS characterized by the Sun and Moon being darkened.
  • ALWAYS. Here’s an example from the book of Joel.

[10] Joel 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.

  • That same verse is repeated in Acts 2:20.
  • The Day of the Lord is going to be both a great day and a terrible day.
  • You might ask: “How can it be great and terrible?”
  • It’s going to be GREAT for God’s SAVED people and it’s going to be terrible for those who aren’t SAVED.

The Signs For The Day Of The Lord

Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 are all talking about the Day of the Lord when the sun and moon is darkened.

  • They also state that the Day of the Lord is AFTER THE TRIBULATION.
  • It’s very easy to see IF you haven’t been indoctrinated with all the false teaching that the rapture is NOT before the tribulation.
  • You’ve probably also been taught that God’s wrath is being poured out during the tribulation and that is also false.

Those chapters also talk about God’s people being gathered together.

  • Obviously, it’s talking about the rapture and if you’re sincere and will let go of any man-made teaching, you will see exactly what the Bible says.
  • I’m not adding anything to it like the false doctrines do.
  • They even tell you that you have to do mental gymnastics to make the pre-tribulation rapture work.
  • Well, with what I’m telling you, you don’t have to do any of that nonsense.

God wrote it plain and clear, and it’s easy to see.

  • You’ll see that what I’m teaching here today is EXACTLY what’s written in the Bible with nothing added or nothing taken away.
  • Some false preachers will tell you that the post-tribulation, pre-wrath rapture that I’m teaching today was just invented here lately.
  • It wasn’t. Here’s proof of that.
  • The King James Bible translators, who you might say knew the Bible pretty well, put a reference note right there in Matthew 24:31 referencing 1 Thessalonians 4:16.

[11] Here’s proof of that. That’s a picture from my 1611 King James Bible.

  • Even the King James Bible translators knew Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, and even 1 Corinthians 15:32 were talking about the same event.
  • But false preachers today, who make absolutely no sense with what the Bible actually says, will argue that.
  • It’s amazing to me. Wake up people. Don’t fall for false doctrine and false teaching.

Those same people will call me a false preacher because they are holding to their man-made teaching.

  • Well, guess what? There’s a truth in there somewhere, and I’ll choose what the Bible says over your man-made fairy tales.
  • The Bible is the truth, and this is THE ONLY TRUTH we have in this world. Understand that today.
  • So now, let’s continue to look at Thessalonians 5 because this is very important to understand.
  • Let’s review the 1 Thessalonians Chapter 5 verse and continue reading in context.

[12] 1 Thessalonians 5:1-2 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

  • So again, it’s saying the Day of the Lord, which the rapture takes place on, cometh as a thief in the night.
  • Don’t STOP reading right there, though.
  • You MUST continue line upon line in the Bible to understand each verse.
  • Who does it come like a thief in the night for? Let’s continue and see.

[13] 1 Thessalonians 5:3-5 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

  • Do you see that? This matches with Revelation 3:3 perfectly.
  • Look, Verse 4 says right there that YOU BRETHREN are not in darkness that this day will overtake you as a thief.
  • He says: “You are the children of light.” Let’s continue with the next verse in 1 Thessalonians 5:6.

[14] 1 Thessalonians 5:6-8 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7 For they that sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

  • So, today, you have all of these movies showing that the Rapture can happen at any moment and everyone starts believing that false teaching that’s all around here in the churches today.
  • Don’t be fooled. Read and know your Bibles. The Bible says to let us not sleep. Let us watch and be sober.

The Rapture Cannot Happen At Any Moment

The Rapture cannot happen at any moment. It won’t happen tonight.

  • It cannot happen until many other things take place. The Bible is VERY clear about this.
  • And you’re going to see that once you listen to God’s words, THE TRUTH.
  • For God’s SAVED people, the day will not come upon YOU like a thief in the night.
  • It’s that simple. It says it VERY clearly right there.

Now, is every believer and saved person watching and reading their Bibles and learning what’s going to happen?

  • No, not even close. This is why we’re being commanded to watch right there.
  • He’s trying to tell us to WATCH!
  • So, that’s why we’re here right now.
  • We’re studying and learning the Book of Revelation so we know what to watch for.
  • Others could care less, including Christians. We know its importance so we’re going to learn and watch.
  • In 1 Thessalonians 5:7, it talks about being drunken and not watching for that day.
  • Guess what? Matthew 24 says the same thing. Hear this today.

[15] Matthew 24:48-50 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; 49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,

  • It’s saying the same thing over and over again. It’s saying the same thing in Revelation 3:3.
  • Now that you’ve heard and seen all of those verse, let’s go back to Revelation 3:3 and see if it makes sense.

[16] Revelation 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

  • Do you see that? If you do not watch, I will come on thee as a thief.
  • He’s not telling ALL BELEIVERS that He will come upon them like a thief.
  • He’s telling all that aren’t watching that He will come upon THEM as a thief.

The Bible tells us everything that’s going to happen before the Rapture and the Day of the Lord takes place.

  • We learn about the antichrist, wars, famine, pestilences, death, martyrs, the Abomination of Desolation in which people are made to worship an image or be killed.
  • We learn that the sun and moon will be darkened first. Have these things happened? No.
  • This means Jesus isn’t coming back at any moment. He tells us to watch and see these things.
  • Then, we’ll know the Day of the Lord is approaching.
  • If we believe the Day of the Lord can happen at any moment and is happening next in the chain of events BUT the antichrist coming next is what really happens, what do you think that means?
  • The antichrist is going to deceive people and some are going to think it’s Jesus coming back. And it’s not.
  • Jesus coming back is NOT the next event that’s going to happen. Understand that today.
  • Going back to Revelation Chapter 3 verse 4.

[17] Revelation 3:4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

  • So listen to this verse.
  • What this tells me is that even though the Church as a whole is dead, there are still a few names in Sardis that are doing good.
  • So not all of them are dead. He says those shall walk with me in white for they are worthy.
  • This also tells us that it’s better to be in a TRUE CHURCH of BELIEVERS that are not doing what they’re supposed to be doing than to NOT go to Church at all.
  • Some people make excuses not to go to Church because there’s no good church around.
  • Well, I agree with you on the part that there’s a shortage of good churches around here, and that’s why this Church is here now.

Do You Learn The Bible At Church?

I was sick of going to Church and NEVER learning the Bible.

  • You’ve learned more of the Bible already today than you’ll learn in years at other churches.
  • And that’s sickening. It really is.
  • There’s so much for us to learn and churches aren’t helping us learn anything.
  • Instead, we get the same false teaching about love, love, love everyone no matter what when the Bible CLEARLY doesn’t teach that AT ALL, ANYWHERE.

This verse 4 is telling us that it’s better to be in Church somewhere than to not attend at all.

  • If you’re serious about God, then you need to be in a TRUE Church somewhere.
  • But make sure the Church understands the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • If not, I don’t consider that to be a Church.

For example, don’t go to a Catholic church. That’s not Church.

  • You should stay at home before you do that.
  • In the United States, though, you should be able to find a TRUE BIBLE BELIEVING CHURCH somewhere close.
  • And don’t just take their word that they believe the Bible is the word of God.
  • Ask them if they believe the Bible has errors within it?
  • If they do, they don’t believe the Bible is the word of God because God doesn’t make mistakes.
  • Find a King James Bible believing Church somewhere and go there.

[18] Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

  • Notice the NOT FORSAKING THE ASSEMBLING OF OURSELVES TOGETHER as the manner of some is.
  • Listen, understand the importance of gathering together with a group of believers in a local church.
  • It’s VERY important. We’re here for each other. We’re here to comfort each other.
  • If someone is in need in our Church, we’re going to make sure you get what you need.
  • That’s why we gather together. We support each other in all ways.
  • We don’t just take, take, take all the time. We give, give, give and we take as needed.
  • Understand that. We help and support each other.

Notice that verse also says there at the end that we need to be gathering together more often as the Day of the Lord approaches.

  • This is very important. This is why we have 3 services each week.
  • This is why we go out soul winning together.
  • Let’s continue there in verse 5 of Revelation Chapter 3.

[19] Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

  • If you remember from Chapter 2, Jesus is speaking here to all the Churches and He gives each message to each Church in a similar format.
  • Remember, He’s talking to the 5th Church in Sardis right now.
  • He says something similar about “HE THAT OVERCOMETH” to every church.
  • We learned previously what overcometh means. Let’s look at that again quickly in 1 John 5 verses 4 and 5.
  • And I want to look at this because false preachers will tell you that you must OVERCOME to make it to heaven.
  • That you must stop sinning, repent of your sins always, continue in good works, and endure to the end to be saved.
  • The Bible doesn’t say this EVER. Here’s what the Bible defines OVERCOMING as:

[20] 1 John 5:4-5 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

  • You are an overcomer if you believe that Jesus is the Son of God.
  • You will be clothed in white raiment says Revelation 3:5.
  • Let’s look back at that verse because we need to look at it a little closer.

[21] Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

  • Jesus says those that overcometh, or those who are saved, He will not BLOT out their name from the Book of Life.
  • But instead He will confess His name before His Father and before His angels.
  • There’s much argument over that verse especially because SO MANY PEOPLE teach that you can lose your salvation.
  • The Bible is very clear that you cannot lose your salvation.
  • God will NEVER blot out your name from the Book of Life because you HAVE eternal life already.
  • If He took it out once you HAVE eternal life, that would make God a liar.
  • He says so Himself in 1 John Chapter 5.

[22] 1 John 5:10-11 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

  • Once you’re saved, you HAVE eternal life.
  • Once you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to save you, you’re saved. It’s that simple.
  • You’re born of God. He is your Father. He will never leave you NOR forsake you.

The Bible Never Says You Can Lose Salvation

Revelation 3:5 NEVER says you can lose your salvation.

  • It says HE WILL NOT BLOT OUT YOUR NAME FROM THE BOOK OF LIFE.
  • Some people will say that this implies that He can blot out your name.
  • We believe all names are written in the Book of Life from the beginning just like the Bible says.
  • Then, your name can be blotted out if you’re NEVER saved.
  • If you’re saved, your name will NEVER be blotted out.

We’ll talk more about this later in other chapters in Revelation when this is mentioned again.

  • It’s actually mentioned 6 more times in the Book of Revelation for a total of 7 times.
  • We’ll go over it in more detail each time it’s mentioned.
  • So remember Revelation 3:5 and how God will not blot out the saved from His Book of Life.

[23] Revelation 3:6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

  • Again, this is saying if YOU HAVE EARS, you need to HEAR this message that Jesus is giving to His Churches.
  • It doesn’t say: “Hey, you don’t need to know this because this is some fairy tale church age that man made up.”
  • It says, “If you have ears, you better hear these messages.”
  • That concludes the message to the Church in Sardis.
  • Let’s move to the Sixth Church, the Church in Philadelphia.

[24] Revelation 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;

  • This is a quote from Isaiah Chapter 22, which says this:

[25] Isaiah 22:22 And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.

  • This is talking about Jesus Christ so again, Jesus is speaking here in Revelation 3 verse 7.
  • Let’s continue in verse 8.

[26] Revelation 3:8-9 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. 9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

  • So Jesus tells them here that He knows their works.
  • He says they have not denied His name and they have kept His word.
  • And then He continues by saying He will make THEM of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews and are not.
  • He will make them to come and worship before their feet.

So, obviously, the false Jews, or the people who say they are Jews and are not, are persecuting the Church at Philadelphia.

  • This Church is holding on with the little strength they have and not denying the name of Jesus.
  • Jesus says, “Don’t Worry!!! They will know that I have loved thee when they are worshipping me before your feet.”
  • So those of the Synagogue of Satan don’t know that God loves the people in the Church of Philadelphia.
  • Doesn’t that sound familiar if you know the religion of Judaism?
  • They don’t think God loves anyone else but them.
  • The Bible teaches us that the Jews believe that over and over again so it makes perfect sense.

[27] 1 Thessalonians 2:14-16 For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews: 15 Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men: 16 Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.

  • It says right there in that verse that the false Jews killed Jesus, are contrary to all men, and forbid the Apostles to speak to the Gentiles.
  • Again, more proof in the Bible. Clear proof.
  • The religion of Judaism believes they are on a higher level and many Christians today put them on a pedestal which makes it worse.

In Chapter 2, we talked about the religion of Judaism being the synagogue of Satan because they are the only religion with synagogues, and they deny the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • Jesus is God. Deny Him and you deny all 3 of the Godhead.
  • Again, the Church of Philadelphia is being persecuted by the false Jews.

[28] 1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

  • So again, this isn’t a race issue with the Jewish race. This is a BELIEF issue.
  • God doesn’t care what race you are because He gave you life. What He cares about is your belief.
  • If you don’t believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (Christ means Messiah which means Savior), the Son of God, Jesus of Nazareth, then you’re antichrist.
  • ANTI-CHRIST. It’s pretty easy to understand. If you’re ANTI-CHRIST, you’re ANTI-CHRIST.
  • You deny Christ Jesus.

The Religion Of Judaism States That The Messiah Has Not Come

The religion of Judaism says we aren’t Anti-Christ because they say Jesus is NOT the Messiah, is NOT the Christ.

  • But guess what? The Bible says Jesus is the Christ. Jesus is the Savior.
  • One is lying: 1) The religion of Judaism or 2) God. Which one will you choose?
  • A man-made religion of Judaism or the Bible which is God’s word, which has been preserved for us?
  • I’ll choose God.
  • The entire Bible centers around God dividing people into 2 groups: those who BELIEVE and those who DON’T BELIEVE.
  • There are no other categories.
  • 1 Peter Chapter 2 tells us that those who BELIEVE are God’s Chosen People!!!

[29] 1 Peter 2:9-10 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

  • It’s not about your race or being God’s chosen race like the Jewish race believes.
  • Now that’s being racist.
  • So the racist people who believe they are the ONLY ONES who God chooses are the ONES calling other people racist for even mentioning the word Jew and something negative.
  • Well, the Bible does it over and over again. It’s not racism my friends. We’re not talking about a race.

The Bible is trying to say the religion of Judaism is the SYNAGOGUE OF SATAN because they don’t BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • It’s that simple. It has nothing to do with race. God doesn’t care about race.
  • The Bible NEVER says that God cares about YOUR RACE. He doesn’t.
  • If you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you’re a Jew, then you’re SAVED.
  • You aren’t the Synagogue of Satan.

If you believe on Jesus Christ and you aren’t a Jew, you’re saved.

  • If you believe on Jesus, it doesn’t matter what race you are AT ALL.
  • Nothing else matters. If you believe, you’re saved. It’s that simple.
  • You see: it’s YOUR CHOICE on whether or not YOU BELIEVE.

God doesn’t reject ANYONE based on what you can’t help. You can’t help your race.

  • You didn’t get a choice. I can’t help that I’m a white male that the world hates now.
  • You can’t help your gender, male or female. You didn’t get a choice. You don’t get to choose your gender.
  • God gave it to you and you can’t change it no matter what you do.
  • God gives you the choice whether to BELIEVE or NOT to BELIEVE.
  • This is how you know Salvation is the Gift of God. God doesn’t discriminate on things that you can’t help.

The Religion Of Judaism Is Racist

But, you see, the religion of Judaism thinks different.

  • That religion thinks they are the only CHOSEN ONES based on their race, something they can’t help and something you can’t help.
  • THIS IS FALSE. And you’ll see that as you read and study your Bible over and over again.
  • Let’s go back to Revelation 3 verse 10 and continue there.

[30] Revelation 3:10-11 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. 11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

  • The false teachers that believe in a Pre-Tribulation Rapture will take this verse, Revelation 3:10, and say that THIS PROVES THERE IS A PRE-TRIBULATION RAPTURE.
  • They use this to say that the Bible says God will save His people from the 7-year Tribulation.
  • The truth is the Bible doesn’t say this and it NEVER says there is a 7-year Tribulation Period.
  • We talked about that in Revelation 1 and 2.

Let’s look at that verse again. Revelation 3:10. Do you see the word tribulation there?

  • No, it’s not there. Do you see the number 7 anywhere there? No. Do you see years in that verse? No.
  • There’s nothing about coming in the clouds, sun and moon darkened, no trumpet sounding, or anything else that matches their fairy tale.
  • It’s more made up stuff and adding things to God’s words.
  • They build the entire doctrine of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture on Revelation 3:10.
  • And I don’t see that there. Do you?
  • No one can see that there without indoctrinating people with that false teaching. Let’s read it again.

[31] Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

  • Without indoctrination from man, you can’t see a pre-tribulation rapture in that verse!
  • People who are indoctrinated will look at that and see: “I’m saved so I won’t go through any tribulation.”
  • That’s not what it says.
  • The verse says hour of TEMPTATION and NOT TRIBULATION. It’s not there! Open your eyes and see that.

Also, one hour of temptation has nothing to do with 7 years of tribulation.

  • The Bible doesn’t say that one hour of temptation equals 7 years of tribulation anywhere.
  • Even symbolically, the Bible NEVER says this.
  • If we look for a symbolic meaning in that verse, we have to base that on what the Bible says and not some made up fairy tale that sounds good.
  • If you look at the Book of Revelation and look for what the one hour of temptation really means, you’ll find that one hour in the Book of Revelation is referring to God’s wrath being poured out, His judgment upon the Earth in every instance.

Does Revelation 3:10 Prove A Pre-Tribulation Rapture?

So, if Revelation 3:10 was actually talking about the Rapture, does it prove a Pre-Tribulation Rapture?

  • No, because it always refers to one hour as the time at when God’s wrath is poured out.
  • It would only prove a PRE-WRATH RAPTURE and not a PRE-TRIBULATION RAPTURE.
  • And we aren’t sure that’s what the verse is even talking about there.
  • But, an entire false doctrine is based upon that same verse.

Tribulation and God’s wrath being poured out is not the same thing.

  • Christians will go through tribulation.
  • They will not go through God’s wrath because they will be raptured before God’s wrath is poured out.
  • 1) Tribulation, 2) Then Jesus comes back in the clouds and catches us away, 3) then God’s wrath is poured out.

[32] Matthew 24:29-30 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

  • Revelation 6 matches Matthew 24.
  • There was tribulation occurring in Revelation 6 and then this verse says this:

[33] Revelation 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

[34] Revelation 6:17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

  • The Day of the Lord is a great and terrible day.
  • God’s people are raptured away and the wrath of God will begin in that hour.
  • In other words, the sun and moon are darkened AFTER THE TRIBULATION.
  • The Bible says so. The Day of the Lord comes AFTER THE TRIBULATION.
  • Jesus comes in the clouds. Then, God’s wrath is poured out.
  • Jesus doesn’t come back BEFORE THE TRIBULATION. Do you see that?

The Bible is very clear, but we’ve been confused because of false teaching. Let’s get it straight right now.

  • I’m tired of lies. NO MORE DECEPTION!!!
  • Back to Revelation 3:12 and we’ll continue.

[35] Revelation 3:12-13 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. 13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

  • Let’s make this clear right now.
  • That verse there says that the new Jerusalem will come down out of heaven.
  • This CLEARLY means the current Jerusalem is not the City of God.
  • The heavenly Jerusalem is the CITY OF GOD.
  • The Bible evens says in Galatians that the current Jerusalem is in bondage with her children and the Jerusalem above is free. See this:

[36] Galatians 4:25-26 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. 26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

  • The current Jerusalem is representative of bondage, false religion, false salvation and the new Jerusalem represents freedom, liberty, salvation by grace through faith, THE TRUTH.
  • If you don’t believe that the current religion of Judaism is the Synagogue of Satan, read Galatians 3 and 4.
  • You’ll see after you read and study those Chapters. It’s very clear.
  • Let’s move onto the final and seventh Church starting there in verse 14 of Revelation 3.

[37] Revelation 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

  • Notice Jesus calls Himself the “AMEN” right here. Amen means TRUTH.
  • It’s the same as VERILY, VERILY which means TRULY, TRULY.
  • In other words, don’t say AMEN to anything that isn’t TRUTH.
  • I’ve been in Churches where the Preacher wants everyone to say AMEN to everything he says.
  • I’ve been told by that Preacher to say AMEN when he said, “All of you are lazy bums SAY AMEN.”
  • Did I say AMEN to that? No, because I’m not a lazy bum. I hope you can see that today.
  • When the truth is spoken, you can say AMEN but don’t say AMEN unless it’s the TRUTH.

Jesus Is The Faithful And True Witness

Jesus is THE AMEN. Jesus is THE TRUTH. Jesus is THE WAY. Jesus is THE LIFE. And you can say AMEN to that!

  • Notice it says right there that Jesus is the faithful and TRUE WITNESS.
  • There are 3 that bear record in heaven. All 3 are TRUE WITNESSES to EACH OTHER.
  • They bear record of each other. If there were ONE, there would be no witness.

[38] John 5:31 If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.

  • But the Bible tells us God is 3 in 1.
  • There is ONLY ONE GOD, but God exists as God the Father, the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit.
  • I want to take a minute to focus on the last part of Revelation 3:14. Let’s read it again.

[39] Revelation 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

  • THE BEGINNING OF THE CREATION OF GOD.
  • Some people will look at that and say Jesus was created by God. That’s false.
  • The Bible tells us Jesus is God. He is eternal.
  • In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word WAS GOD.
  • He wasn’t created in the beginning. He is THE BEGINNING. He was always there.
  • All things were created through Him in the beginning.
  • Jesus is the Beginning of the Creation of God. He was there with God in the beginning and He is God.

[40] Colossians 1:15-17 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

  • Colossians 1 matches with Revelation 3. Jesus is the beginning and the end.
  • He is the ALPHA and OMEGA. He wasn’t created in the beginning. He is THE BEGINNING.
  • Colossians tells us ALL THINGS WERE CREATED BY HIM and FOR HIM!!!
  • He is before ALL THINGS and by HIM all things consist. Do you understand that today?
  • Jesus didn’t just show up about 2,100 years ago. He’s been there FOREVER.

Let’s move onto Revelation 3 verse 15.

[41] Revelation 3:15-17 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

  • Look, this Church of Laodicea is neither cold nor hot. They aren’t fired up and they aren’t cold.
  • They’re just like OKAY. Jesus compares them to a beverage here.
  • He says, “Since you’re neither cold NOR hot, I will spue you out of my mouth.”
  • You can think of ice cold water when you’re hot. Nothing tastes better than ice cold water.
  • Then you can think of a cup of hot chocolate or hot apple cider or coffee when you’re freezing.
  • Nothing tastes better than that hot drink.

A Lukewarm Drink Disgusts You

But let’s say you get a lukewarm drink when you want something cold or hot, it disgusts you.

  • You’re like: “Come on, give me something cold or give me something hot.”
  • Jesus is saying the same thing here. He’s saying that lukewarm makes Him sick and He’ll spit you out.
  • Have you ever seen someone spit out their drink when they drink something they weren’t expecting?
  • Well, same thing goes here in this verse.

If Jesus finds us to be not excited and not caring about what He asks us to care about, then He will be disgusted with us.

  • So, listen, let’s not be that way. Let’s get HOT and stay HOT.
  • Let’s get the Gospel out to all of this community. That’s what Jesus needs from us.
  • And we will do it together.
  • It’s going to take a great effort from all of us, and God chose us to get His word out. Why?
  • Because He knows we work hard. He knows that.
  • We’ll work as a team just as He asks us to do and WE WILL get this done for Him and through Him.
  • Now, take a look at Verse 17 there.

[42] Revelation 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

  • So, this is a group of people who SAY: “I AM RICH. I NEED NOTHING.”
  • But here’s what Jesus says they’re really like.
  • He says they are wretched, miserable, poor, blinded, and naked. He says, you aren’t rich. You might have a lot in this life, but you’re wretched and poor. You’re naked.
  • On that topic. The Bible always brings up topics we need to know and understand.
  • Have you seen people who dress like they’re naked? They might as well be naked. Wake up people.
  • We need to look at how we’re dressing to make sure we aren’t dressing naked.

[43] Exodus 28:42 And thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness; from the loins even unto the thighs they shall reach:

  • If you aren’t covering your thighs, this means your naked.

[44] Isaiah 47:2-3 Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers. 3 Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man.

  • So the Bible is clear that uncovering your thighs is showing your nakedness. This isn’t just for women.
  • This is for men too. Just going through the airport, you’ll see half naked people everywhere. It’s amazing.
  • If you preach this today, you’ll get laughs because people will say: “We’re more progressive than that in today’s society. You want to go back to the 40’s when women couldn’t show their thighs?”
  • Guess what? I’m talking about men and women.
  • We shouldn’t be showing our nakedness because the Bible says so.

[45] Isaiah 20:4 So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.

  • So, walking around with your butt uncovered in a bathing suit is also your nakedness. Don’t do it.
  • When you’re at a swimming pool, everyone around is in clothing that’s even skimpier than the underwear you would normally wear.
  • People have nightmares about showing up to work in their underwear BUT I guess the pool doesn’t bother them.
  • You see: after reading and knowing the Bible, I cannot wear something like that at a swimming pool.

Wake Up And Open Your Eyes! You’re Naked!

You’ll wake up and realize the thighs and butt is YOUR nakedness.

  • You’ll be like: “Am I really wearing this in public?” The Bible will open your eyes.
  • You see: the Bible very clearly says the loins (or the groin area), the thighs, and the butt is your nakedness.
  • This goes for men and women and children.
  • I’ve seen men wearing worse things in public than women.
  • Though, there are probably more women that expose their nakedness than men.
  • It’s time to start following the Bible. You might be thinking: “Well, I don’t agree with that.”
  • Okay, you don’t agree with God. You see: God is God, and we aren’t.
  • God EXPECTS us to listen to what HE SAYS and not what WE SAY. It’s not what we think. It’s what HE SAYS.
  • Don’t make up your own rules. God sets the rules.
  • Let’s continue in Revelation 3 verse 18.

[46] Revelation 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

  • Jesus is telling them to go do good works. Go spread the Gospel and stop being lukewarm.
  • Then, you will buy of Jesus GOLD TRIED IN THE FIRE. Good works get you rewards in heaven.
  • This is what He’s telling them to go do if they want to be rich.
  • He tells them to do those things for rewards from Jesus Himself.
  • He’s telling them to be clothed that the shame of their nakedness does not appear. Do you see?
  • It’s a shame to be naked. And then He says to anoint their eyes with eyesalve so they may see.
  • The Bible will open your eyes to the TRUTH. And let me tell you: It DOES NOT match AT ALL what the world tells you.
  • Listen to the Bible, and your eyes will be opened. When God says your thighs are nakedness and its shameful, you’ll cover your thighs.
  • Your eyes will be opened and you will see is what Jesus is saying here.
  • Wake up and STOP being lukewarm. Follow what the Bible says. Do what the Bible says.
  • That’s how you stay HOT and not lukewarm. HOT doesn’t disgust Jesus.

[47] Revelation 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

  • Now take a close look at that verse. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten.
  • According to the world today, that’s not love.
  • Rebuking and chastening is correcting someone and punishing someone for not doing right.
  • The world today says if you do that, it’s not love.
  • Love is loving everyone and never rebuking or punishing anyone. Real love is loving everyone no matter what. Wow, that’s false.

And that worldly thinking should sound more and more foreign to you as you read and learn the Bible more and more.

  • If you’re not reading and studying the Bible, you will agree with the world because you hear it more than you hear the Bible.
  • We have to separate ourselves to the Gospel, to God, and not the world.
  • If you find yourself siding with the world more than the Bible, you have a problem my friend. A BIG PROBLEM.
  • People sure don’t like to be rebuked. They will hate for you it. They will try to shut you up.
  • They will not let you speak any more. They don’t want to be rebuked.
  • Use the Bible to rebuke someone, and they will HATE you even more for that.
  • Why? Because they HATE GOD. The Bible doesn’t match THEIR own false god and they don’t like it.

[48] Proverbs 9:8 Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.

  • The Bible says a scorner will hate you when you correct them with the TRUTH.
  • A wise man will love thee.
  • You’ll see the difference when you go out and talk with people. You’ll see it quickly.
  • This is in churches everywhere around here. How do I know? Because I’ve experienced it myself.
  • Preach from the word of God something a church member doesn’t want to hear and WOW, watch what happens.
  • Some of them will HATE YOU. But guess what? What they’re really saying is they HATE GOD.
  • That’s the truth.
  • Listen to these verses from 2 Timothy. Listen to the COMMANDS GIVEN HERE.

[49] 2 Timothy 4:2-4 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

  • This tells us to preach the word no matter what. Reprove and rebuke others when needed.
  • But do it with all longsuffering and with the Bible. Do your best to show those people.
  • And I’ve had to go through that before and gave it time and was very patient.
  • The Bible says they will after their own lusts HEAP TO THEMSELVES teachers, having itching ears.

Don’t Turn Your Ears From The Truth In The Bible

This means they will turn their away from the truth and shall be turned into fables.

  • This remind me of preachers who make up fairy tales and fables about LOVING everyone no matter what.
  • They will call it UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.
  • If you hear any preacher giving a message about the unconditional love of God, go ahead and count HIM/HER as a false teacher.
  • God’s continued love is conditional. If you don’t believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, He will throw you into hell.
  • When you’re in hell burning forever, I would love to hear you say: “Well, God sure does love me unconditionally while I’m burning here in hell. Thanks for the torment. I know you love me.”
  • That’s a lie. God doesn’t love the people He throws into eternal hell.

For there to ALWAYS be unconditional love from God, we would have to get rid of hell.

  • And some religions and denominations do. That’s evil.
  • Those corrupted bible versions even remove the word hell as a first step and call it something else.
  • As another example, people don’t want to hear the teaching from the Bible about nakedness because it gets a little too close for comfort.
  • Hey, it did with me too when I first understood. I’m not preaching it to make you mad.
  • I’m preaching it so you understand the truth and YOU and I both don’t make GOD MAD.
  • Take the Bible and God’s instructions to us and CONFORM to His instructions.

This is called putting God first in your life. If you’d rather do what you want and make up your own rules, then that’s telling God that you, YOURSELF, is truly the ONE who rules your life.

  • You’re the Lord of Your Life. Not Jesus. Not God. YOU ARE.
  • And let me give you a warning on that: You can’t save yourself from death and hell.
  • When you’re in BIG trouble and need some extraordinary HELP, you’ll look to God.
  • But, ignore God all your life and He might just turn away and laugh. Does that seem harsh?
  • When you need God, He might turn away and laugh at you. Hear this verse. Listen closely.

[50] Proverbs 1:25-28 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; 27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. 28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

  • So again, don’t get mad at me. Or, if you do, I don’t care.
  • I’m here to give you the message from God’s words. He’s the one speaking. I don’t have any power.
  • God has the power. You can get mad at me. But, you’re really getting mad at God.
  • Don’t do that. I didn’t make the rules. God made them.

So listen, a preacher that won’t rebuke you or preach the word to you IS NOT ONE that loves you.

  • Do you understand that? If we preach the word here, you will be rebuked and corrected.
  • I get it all the time from God’s word. Do I get mad? No way. I take it, and I change my ways.
  • This is what God wants. This is the love of God.
  • It’s not the fake love of the world that tells you to do whatever you want.
  • What if I never corrected my children when they do wrong?
  • Do you know what would happen to that child? I don’t even want to think about it.
  • But that’s how so many children are growing up today because the world tells you that correcting your children is not loving them.
  • Just let them do whatever they want. Wow. That’s not love. Here’s what the Bible says:

[51] Proverbs 13:24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

  • So the Bible tells us we HATE our children if we don’t punish them.
  • The world says that spanking your children is just mean and hateful and is only hurting the child.
  • The Bible says those who don’t HATE their children. Look at the verse.
  • If you love your children, you will correct them. If you need to spank them, do it. This is love.

“I Don’t Spank My Children. I Love Them.”

You might hear someone say: “Well, I don’t spank my children because I just love them too much to do that.”

  • Well, the Bible says different so that’s a lie. The Bible says if you spare the rod, you HATE your children.
  • Now listen, I’m not talking about beating your children for no reason. Hitting them. Punching them.
  • That’s abuse. I’m talking about giving them a stern warning. I’m talking about warning them to stop.
  • If they don’t listen, they get a spanking.
  • And I’m not talking about hurting them physically.
  • But giving them a good smack on their bottom; that padded area that God designed there to give them correction.
  • This doesn’t hurt them physically BUT it hurts them because they’ve disappointed their parents who provide them with so much.

Hey listen, it works. It worked on me. It works on my children. You know what I’ve found out?

  • After I spank them, the warnings I give work much better next time.
  • I’ve gone months without spanking my children because they take the warning.
  • They know I’ll do what I say. And God’s the same way. He’ll do what He says. What God says, is TRUTH.
  • You can count on that.

And listen parents. The mother doesn’t do all the spanking.

  • Spanking from the mom will work, but let me tell you, spanking from the Dad should be fearful for the child.
  • Those children don’t want to do wrong because they fear a spanking from their Dad.
  • Do you understand that?
  • Ask most anyone and they’ll tell you that they feared the spanking from their Dad.
  • So MEN, you are the LEADER with the discipline. Don’t just hand it off to your wife.
  • It’s your job as a leader of the family. If you don’t believe me, listen to some more verses here.

[52] Proverbs 23:13-14 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. 14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.

  • Does that sound harsh to you? It shouldn’t if you know God and read your Bibles.
  • You’ll understand God’s nature. He sure doesn’t play games. He’s serious.
  • And that’s how you should be with your children when it comes to discipline.
  • Spanking your children is not an optional commandment from God. It’s a commandment.
  • Do you hear those verses? It’s not optional. You don’t know better than God.
  • Anyone who opposes spanking your children SURE DOESN’T know or read their Bible.

[53] Proverbs 3:12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

  • There’s more than that. Some people will say: “Oh, that’s the God of the Old Testament. You’re reading from Proverbs.”
  • Well, we started in Revelation. Now, let’s look at Hebrews.

[54] Hebrews 12:5-7 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

  • So now the Bible says, that’s not really your son if you don’t chasten and punish your children.
  • Spanking takes work. You could just ignore them.
  • But you spank them to correct them and teach them how to be.
  • God is the same way. If God loves us, He will correct us.

[55] Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

  • This is why David says “THY ROD AND THY STAFF COMFORT ME.”
  • If God is correcting us, this is comfort because we know we are HIS CHILDREN.
  • But we also know we need to correct our ways.
  • Let’s go back to Revelation Chapter 3 verse 20 and continue there.

[56] Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

  • Remember who Jesus is talking to here. He’s still giving the message to the Church at Laodicea.
  • Remember, these are saved people because this is HIS CHURCH that He’s speaking to.
  • Many people will take this verse out of context to support false dispensational teaching that tells you that we’re all living in the Laodicean church age.
  • This is important because many Pre-Tribulation false teachers will tell you that the Church of Laodicea is a false church and one that wasn’t saved.
  • That already doesn’t make any sense because Jesus says they are HIS CHURCH, and that’s why He’s giving them the rebuking right here.
  • He loves them. He’s rebuking them.

I Will Come “In To” Him vs. I Will Come “Into” Him

Those same false teachers will tell you that this Revelation 3:20 is where He’s trying to save them and will come INTO them and they will be saved.

  • Notice the words used are not INTO as one word, but it’s two words. Jesus says: “I WILL COME IN – TO HIM.”
  • He’s not going INTO them. He’s going to walk through the door and come in to talk and sup with them.
  • Do you see that? IN – TO is totally different meaning than INTO.
  • Here’s an example. If I say: “Hey, I’m going to church and in to the pulpit.” So I come inside to the pulpit.
  • I’m not going to climb INTO the pulpit. I’m just going inside to the pulpit.
  • We MUST pay attention to every word.

Jesus is saying: “Hey, I’m standing at the door knocking. If any man hears me knocking and opens the door, I’m going to come inside the door and come to the man. Then I’m going to sup with him and he with me.”

  • That’s what the verse says. It’s not talking about Jesus going inside the man.
  • This isn’t a false Church He’s talking too. He’s talking to saved people here.
  • He wants to have fellowship with them! That’s what He’s saying. They are His saved people.
  • I want to come in and eat supper with you. I want to fellowship with you.
  • I’m only saying this because of false teaching on the Pre-Tribulation Rapture.
  • They teach these are ages, and this is false. Any church right now can be like any of these churches.
  • All 100% of churches aren’t like ANY ONE OF THESE CHURCHES like these dispensationalists will teach.
  • Dispensationalism is false and that’s all there is to it. It’s a made up fairy tale.
  • I started out studying it, and it makes no sense whatsoever.
  • Let’s finish up with verse 21 and 22 of Revelation Chapter 3.

[57] Revelation 3:21-22 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

  • Jesus is saying here that all them who believe on His name will He grant to sit with Him in His throne.
  • Jesus says I overcame and am set down with my Father in His throne.
  • And then He finishes the message again with: “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.”
  • He says the same thing 7 times.
  • This simply means you better hear and understand these messages to the 7 churches.
  • We’ve went over all 7 Church messages in detail now.

We’ll look at Revelation Chapter 4 next, which takes us into the HEREAFTER phase of Revelation.

  • This is what will happen in future events.
  • We need to study this VERY WELL, and that’s what we’ll do next with the Revelation Chapter 4 Sermon.

Let’s pray.
