[2] The title of the sermon: “TODAY SHALT THOU BE WITH ME IN PARADISE.”

Jesus Says He Will In Paradise With The Thief Today

  • The title of this sermon is a quote directly from the mouth of Jesus Christ.
  • Jesus was hanging on the cross and speaking to one of the thieves next to Him.
  • Let’s read the passage directly from the King James Bible in Luke Chapter 23.

[3] Luke 23:39-41 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. 40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

  • So, we see one of the malefactors railing on Jesus.
  • And we see the other malefactor rebuking the first malefactor for railing on Jesus.
  • He says that the 2 of them, the malefactors, deserve what they’re getting.
  • But this man, talking about Jesus Christ, has done nothing wrong.

[4] Luke 23:42-43 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. 43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

  • So, this thief on the cross right next to Jesus rebukes the other thief.
  • “Dost thou not fear God.” In other words, one of them fears God and the other doesn’t.
  • He admits that he deserves the punishment of death that he’s receiving.
  • He proclaims that Jesus has done nothing wrong. He asks Jesus to remember him.
  • And that’s when Jesus responds: “To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”

On the day that Jesus Christ died, that thief would be with Jesus Christ in paradise. That’s what Jesus said.

  • Now, where is paradise according to the Scriptures and not according to teaching from man?
  • Where is paradise? Let’s look to the Scriptures. The word paradise is in the Bible just three times.
  • There’s one of the three occurrences right there at the end of verse 43 in Luke Chapter 23.
  • Let’s find and read the other 2 occurrences.

[5] 2 Corinthians 12:2-4 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. 3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) 4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

  • Unspeakable words are heard in paradise. This man was caught up to the third heaven.
  • This man was caught up into paradise. Paradise is in the third heaven.
  • There are 3 heavens the Bible teaches. The first heaven is the sky.
  • The second heaven is what we call outer space. And the third heaven is paradise where God lives.

[6] Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

  • The tree of life is in the midst of the paradise of God.
  • That’s it for the occurrences of the word paradise within the Bible.
  • But, we can look to see where the tree of life is located since the tree of life is in paradise.
  • So, we look up the tree of life to see if we can learn anything else about paradise.

[7] Revelation 22:1-2 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

  • The throne of God and of the Lamb is in paradise according to this Scripture.
  • The tree of life is there. God is there. Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, is there.

[8] Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

  • In the beginning, God created the THIRD HEAVEN. This is where He lives.
  • This is where His throne is located. This is paradise.
  • Paradise has always been in the same place and that is in the third heaven.
  • The Bible tells us clearly that paradise and the third heaven are the same.

[9] Genesis 1:6-8 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. 7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

  • On the second day, God created the other 2 heavens. The the first heaven is the sky where birds fly.

[10] Genesis 1:20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

  • Again, the first heaven is the sky above us where birds fly. This is the open firmament of heaven.

[11] Genesis 1:14-16 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: 15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. 16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

[12] Genesis 1:17-19 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. 19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

  • In the beginning God created the heaven where He lives. This is paradise. This is the third heaven.
  • On the second day, God created the first heaven where the birds fly and the second heaven.
  • The second heaven is outer space. On the fourth day, God set lights in the firmament of the heaven.
  • This would be outer space. This is where the sun and the moon are located.
  • The first heaven is closest to us. The second heaven is further away.
  • And the third heaven is even further away from us. Again, paradise is the third heaven.
  • GOD LIVES THERE. His throne is there. The tree of life is there.

Where Is Paradise? The Bible Tells You. Don’t Make Up Fables.

This is the truth from the Scriptures. There are no others Scriptures about paradise being anywhere else.

  • If someone says that paradise is somewhere other than the third heaven, you will know they are wrong.
  • If someone says that the throne of God isn’t in paradise, they would be wrong.
  • Paradise is where God lives and paradise is not in hell. Paradise was never in hell.
  • Paradise was never a compartment in hell. The Scriptures do not say anything like that anywhere.
  • We don’t get to make things up because we think there’s a contradiction in the Scriptures.

So, let me show you the so-called “contradiction” within the Bible. Because of this, people make up false doctrine.

  • We know for sure that Jesus tells the thief: “Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.”
  • Many people believe this means that Jesus went to paradise the day that He died on the cross.
  • But then we see the following Scriptures:

[13] Acts 2:30-32 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; 31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. 32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

  • We know king David is a prophet because the Bible says so right here.
  • “David spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that His soul was not left in hell., neither his flesh did see corruption.”
  • Where did David the prophet speak of these things? We look to Psalm Chapter 16.

[14] Psalm 16:8-11 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. 10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

  • “For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell.” This is talking about the soul of Jesus Christ.
  • When Jesus died on the cross, His soul went to hell.
  • But the other Scriptures say the thief will be with Jesus that DAY in paradise.

The Bible clearly speaks of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. HIS SOUL WAS NOT LEFT IN HELL.

  • This means His soul went to hell. His body didn’t go to hell. His body was buried in the tomb.
  • The Bible says, “My flesh also shall REST in hope.” His body was resting in hope. Hope of what?
  • Hope of the resurrection of His soul form hell to be joined again with His body.

All of us have a spirit, soul, and body. The Bible speaks of these three. The spirit is the life within you.

  • When Jesus gave up the ghost, He gave up the life or the spirit within Him and He died.
  • When someone loses their life, where does the spirit go? The Bible tells us.

[15] Ecclesiastes 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

  • So, we know for sure that the spirit of Jesus Christ returned to His Father in heaven.
  • When anyone dies, their spirit goes back to God because He owns that life.
  • Life or spirit comes from God Almighty. When it’s done, it returns to God.
  • And where is God located? UP. God is located in the third heaven or in paradise.
  • And the third heaven is all around us and way out there. It’s huge. God needs a large place.
  • The spirit goes upwards into the third heaven or paradise where God lives.

[16] Ecclesiastes 3:21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

  • Jesus is a man, and He is God. He came in the flesh. The spirit of man goeth upward.
  • When Jesus died, His spirit or life returned to His Father in heaven.
  • So, we know there are 3 parts to all of us. 1) SPIRIT, 2) BODY, 3) SOUL.
  • The spirit of Jesus went to paradise or heaven. His body was buried in the tomb.
  • His body did not see corruption. His soul went to hell for 3 days and 3 nights.
  • His body was buried in the tomb for 3 days and 3 nights.
  • His spirit was in heaven for 3 days and 3 nights because He was dead.

[17] Revelation 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

  • Jesus Himself tells us that He was dead. False preachers will say that He didn’t die.
  • Who do you trust? Jesus Christ says that He was dead. He was there, and He knows.
  • You weren’t there, and you don’t know.

[18] Revelation 2:8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;

  • If that’s not enough to prove that Jesus died on the cross, then maybe these will help.

[19] Romans 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

[20] Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

[21] Romans 14:15 But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.

[22] 1 Corinthians 8:11 And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?

[23] 1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

  • Is that not enough proof that Jesus Christ DIED for us? The Bible says so over and over again.
  • Jesus is God. He died for us. His spirit left Him. He gave up the ghost. Where did His spirit go? To heaven.
  • Where did His body go? To the tomb. Where did His soul go? To hell. The Bible is very clear about this.
  • In order for Jesus to be resurrected from the dead, His spirit must come back to His body and His soul.
  • They all must join back together. The resurrection of Christ wasn’t ONLY about His body.
  • Jesus says, “I was dead but now I am alive.”

The Resurrection Of Jesus Includes His Spirit, Body, And Soul

This means His spirit, soul, and body were all joined back together. And that’s how He arose from the dead.

  • Without those 3 pieces coming back together, He wouldn’t have risen from the dead.
  • He was dead. His soul didn’t go to heaven or paradise. That’s not death. His body was dead.
  • His soul was dead in hell. His spirit left His body meaning He was dead.
  • When Jesus says He was dead, that’s what He means. HE SAID IT. I didn’t.
  • All of this that I am preaching right now? I didn’t come up with it. I base everything I say on the Scriptures.

The soul of Jesus Christ was not left in hell. Hell is not a good place. There is no party in hell.

  • Hell is a place of fire and torment. Look up all the instances of the word hell within the Bible.
  • There’s fire and smoke there. There’s torment. Darkness and not light. Gnashing of teeth. Destruction.
  • But the false preachers act is if Jesus went to the paradise part of hell.
  • Their teaching is false, very dangerous, and they have no Scripture to back this up at all.
  • NEVER ONCE is there a paradise in hell within the Bible.

But they think that their fairy tale of paradise in hell explains the so-called “contradiction” in the Bible.

  • If they can create a paradise in hell, then they can say Jesus went to paradise in hell.
  • Then when He tells the thief that He will see him in paradise, this would be true.
  • And when He says His soul was not left in hell, this would be true.
  • But they won’t even admit that Jesus went to hell.
  • So, many of them don’t even realize why the fairy tale of paradise in hell was created.
  • We don’t get to create stories, fables, and tales to “FIX” a so-called contradiction in the Bible.

Yes, the thief was in paradise the day He died. God was in paradise that day too so Jesus told the truth as always.

  • And the soul of Jesus Christ went to hell just as the Bible says.
  • We don’t create a compartment in hell called Abraham’s bosom or paradise in hell to “FIX” the Bible.
  • The Bible doesn’t need the wisdom of man added to it. We use the Scriptures alone to form doctrine.
  • “Oh, God messed up here. We better fix this for Him. He must have made a mistake.”
  • This is what they’re saying when they create fairy tales. But we know God is always right.

[24] Psalm 147:5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

  • Our understanding is not infinite.
  • When we don’t understand something, we don’t just make something up.
  • We study the Scriptures and find the truth. I know that Jesus who is God was with the thief in paradise.
  • AND I know that the soul of Jesus Christ was in hell that same day.
  • I know the body of Jesus Christ was in the tomb that day once He was buried.
  • And I know the spirit or life of Jesus Christ returned to His Father in heaven.

[25] Luke 23:46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

So, you can ask the false preachers directly: “Did the soul of Jesus Christ go to hell or not?”

  • What do they typically do? They avoid answering the question just like a politician. They won’t answer.
  • The Bible clearly tells us over and over again that the soul of Jesus went to hell.

[26] Ephesians 4:9-10 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

  • Jesus descended into the lower parts of the earth. Hell is in the center of the earth.
  • God designed the heavens, the earth, and hell in the way that He did to show you something.
  • The heavens are up. Look up. No matter where you are on earth, look up.
  • GOD IS THERE. He fills the heavens. So if we look up on this side of the earth, God is there.
  • JESUS IS THERE. If people on the other side of the earth look up, the heavens are there.
  • God is there. He’s showing you that He is infinite. Heaven is huge. God fills all things.

But take a look at hell in the center of the earth. It has an end. It’s the center of the earth.

  • When you reach the center of the earth, it’s over. It is not infinite.
  • When you look up, it’s infinite. Outer space goes on forever and ever.
  • But once you hit the center of the earth, it’s a point. It doesn’t go on forever and ever. It’s the end.
  • If God can fill all things, He can definitely fill the finite area of hell.
  • If He can fill the heavens, He can definitely fill the finite area of hell. Do you see this?

[27] Jeremiah 23:24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

  • God fills heaven and earth and hell is in the center of the earth. He fills, “F-I-L-L-S” hell.
  • Yes, God is in heaven. Yes, God is in the earth. And yes, God is in hell. Satan doesn’t run hell.
  • The soul of Jesus didn’t go to hell to be burned and tortured by Satan or by his devils.
  • They aren’t in control of hell. God sent the soul of Jesus Christ to hell as an offering for sin.

[28] Isaiah 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

  • Who sent the soul of Jesus Christ to hell? Who can do these things? There is no one but God.
  • “Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief.”
  • He made the soul of Jesus an offering for sin. He made the body of Jesus an offering for sin.
  • Jesus, in every way, shape, and form, is an offering for our sin and He is the only offering required.

Hell is at the center of the earth. I didn’t make this up. God teaches us this in the Bible.

  • When someone goes down to hell, they are going down to the center of the earth.
  • God sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to hell as an offering for our sin.
  • That’s why the Bible says that His soul was not left in hell. God wasn’t going to leave Him there.
  • If He left Him there, the resurrection of Jesus Christ wouldn’t have happened.

[29] Jonah 1:17 Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

[30] Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

  • Jesus went to the heart of the earth for 3 days and 3 nights. His soul was in hell for 3 days and 3 nights.
  • If that’s not what this means, what does it mean then?
  • Does it mean paradise is in the center of the earth? No, it doesn’t.
  • Did you watch the movie “Journey to the Center of the Earth” and believe what the movie says?
  • Or do you trust what God is teaching us in the Bible.

Was Jonah In Paradise When He Was In The Belly Of The Fish? Did He Have A Party?

When Jonah was in the belly of the fish, was he in paradise? GOD IS USING THIS COMPARISON.

  • Jonah is prophecy showing us what would happen to Jesus Christ.
  • Does the Bible say that Jonah threw a party while he was in the belly of the whale?
  • No, He was alone in darkness and he wanted out of there. He didn’t want to stay there.

[31] Jonah 2:1-2 Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish’s belly, 2 And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

  • Do any of these people read the actual words of the Bible? Do they study the Bible cover to cover?
  • Verse 2 says, “I CRIED BY REASON OF MINE AFFLICTION UNTO THE LORD.”
  • Do you think Jesus Christ cried out to His Father while He was in hell?
  • Do you not think this is speaking of Jesus Christ? Do you really think His soul didn’t go to hell?
  • Do you really think that He didn’t suffer in hell for you and I?

“Out of the belly of hell cried I.” Did Jonah go to hell? No, he didn’t. But Jesus Christ did.

  • And Jesus tells us that the story of Jonah was speaking of Him.
  • Jesus fulfilled the Scriptures by going to hell. If He didn’t go to hell, the Scriptures would be broken.
  • And we know the Scriptures cannot be broken. The Book of the prophet Jonah cannot be broken.
  • Jesus Christ cried out from hell. Are you really going to try to change the Scriptures and prophecy?
  • Jesus clearly states that He was in the heart of the earth 3 days and 3 nights.
  • He ties the story of Jonah to Himself. I didn’t make that up. Jesus ties it together.

[32] Jonah 2:3-4 For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me. 4 Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.

  • Does it sound like Jonah was having a good time? Does it sound like Jesus was having a good time?

[33] Jonah 2:5-7 The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head. 6 I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God. 7 When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.

  • Jesus Christ went down to the bottoms of the mountains. That is the center of the earth. That is hell.
  • “The earth with her bars was about me forever.” Who is that talking about?
  • Hell is prison. You can’t get out of there unless you are God. Jonah didn’t go to hell and get out.
  • David didn’t go to hell and get out. Jesus Christ went to hell for 3 days and 3 nights.
  • He is the eternal God and 3 days and 3 nights equates to infinity for God Almighty.
  • Not for us, but for the infinite God it does. And He paid for all our sins while He was there.
  • He went to hell because He took the sins of the whole world onto Himself. Your sin sent Him to hell.

[34] 2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

  • Jesus Christ was made to be sin for us. When did that happen? It happened when His soul went to hell.
  • If not, when did it happen? Where would we go if we had sin counted to our soul? HELL.
  • Jesus Christ knew no sin YET He was made sin. How can that be?

He died on the cross, His body was buried in the tomb, His soul went to hell, and He arose from the dead.

  • Hell is where “DEAD” souls go. Jesus says, “I WAS DEAD.” He wasn’t just talking about His body.
  • People in heaven aren’t considered to be dead. They are alive. Their bodies are dead but they are alive.
  • People in hell are considered to be dead. Their bodies are dead and their souls are dead.
  • Jesus arose from THE DEAD. He took all of our sin to hell with Him. That’s what sent Him to hell.
  • Paradise is not located in hell. Why would Jesus cry out because of His affliction if He were in paradise?

[35] Jonah 2:10 And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.

  • Does that sound like a good time to you? Jonah’s story is a picture of the story of Jesus Christ.
  • Psalm Chapter 69 is speaking of Jesus Christ. This is prophecy of Jesus Christ.
  • If you don’t think so, let me read you this before I show you the other verses.

[36] Psalm 69:21 They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

  • Verse 21 is clearly prophesying about Jesus Christ. The entire Bible prophesies of Jesus Christ.

[37] Psalm 69:1-3 Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul. 2 I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. 3 I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.

[38] Psalm 69:13-14 But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation. 14 Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.

  • What was Jonah just talking about? Deliver me out of the deep waters? Deliver me out of the mire?

[39] Psalm 69:15 Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.

  • This is talking about the pit, which is hell. Do not let the pit shut her mouth upon me.
  • In other words, “GET ME OUT OF HERE.” Jesus didn’t want to stay there in hell. He wanted out of there.
  • It wasn’t paradise in hell. Jesus went down to the pit of hell.
  • Joseph is a picture of Jesus Christ. Joseph was cast into a pit by his brethren.
  • Jesus was killed by His brethren. Can you not see all of these things?

[40] Psalm 9:15 The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.

  • The pit of hell is where Jesus Christ went because He was made sin for us when He knew no sin.

[41] Psalm 22:6 But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.

  • Why is this? HE TOOK ALL OF OUR SIN. Why did God forsake Jesus Christ?
  • Is that talking about Jesus Christ right there in Psalm Chapter 22? Go back to verse 1.

[42] Psalm 22:1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

[43] Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

  • Did God forsake Jesus Christ? Yes, He did. Psalm 22 is prophesying of Jesus Christ.
  • God forsook Jesus while He was on the cross and for 3 days and 3 nights while His soul was in hell.
  • He was called a worm.

[44] Job 25:6 How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?

  • Jesus is the Son of man. He became a worm because of our sin. He did that for us. He suffered for us.
  • Did He only suffer on the cross? No, He suffered before the cross, on the cross, and in hell.
  • Some of the false preachers will say He only suffered on the cross for our sins. WRONG.
  • Again, He suffered before the cross, during the cross, and after He died on the cross.
  • The Scriptures say so over and over again.

[45] Luke 24:44-46 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. 45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, 46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

  • Moses writes about Jesus Christ. Jesus says so right there.
  • When Abraham offered Isaac upon the altar, Isaac was going to be a burnt offering.
  • Jesus is a burnt offering. All the burnt offering in the Bible are speaking of Jesus Christ.
  • The other burnt offerings don’t forgive sin, but the burn offering of Jesus Christ in hell does forgive sin.

Do You Not Like That I Preach The Soul Of Jesus Went To Hell? Talk To God About It. He Said It.

And if you don’t like what I’m preaching, take it up with God because He wrote all of those things.

  • The prophets speak of Jesus Christ. Jonah speaks of Him. Isaiah speaks of Him. David speaks of Him.
  • Job speaks of Jesus Christ. The Psalms speak of Jesus Christ. Yes, Psalm 69 is speaking of Him.
  • Psalm 22 is speaking of Him. Psalm 16 is speaking of Him just as Acts Chapter 2 teaches us.

What does verse 46 say right there? “And He said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day.”

  • Behove means that is NECESSARY for Christ to suffer.
  • The false preachers will say that Jesus suffered enough on the cross and nothing else was required.
  • Then why in the world would the Bible say that Jesus spent 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth?
  • Do you think Jesus suffered more on the cross or more while His soul was in hell?
  • Why would the Bible say that the soul of Jesus Christ was not left in hell if it wasn’t necessary?
  • God does not waste time. He doesn’t do things that aren’t necessary.

“It behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day.”

  • Up to His resurrection, He was SUFFERING. What else was He doing? Having a party in hell?
  • Some people say He went and preached in hell. NO, HE DIDN’T. The Scriptures don’t say that.
  • Why in the world would He preach in hell? He didn’t send someone to preach to the sodomites.
  • He didn’t send someone to preach to all the wicked nations before He destroyed them.
  • He didn’t go and preach in hell. He went and suffered in hell for 3 days and 3 nights because of you and I.

[46] Luke 24:25-27 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: 26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? 27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

  • Jesus says, “O FOOLS, and slow of heart to believe ALL that the prophets have spoken.”
  • Now, look, I get called a fool because I believe what the Bible says.
  • What I believe doesn’t match what the seminaries and Bible colleges teach. So I get called names.
  • But who is the fool? Jesus says the people who won’t believe ALL of the Bible are the fools.
  • Beginning at Moses, Jesus taught them. He taught them all the prophets.
  • He taught them what Jonah meant. He taught them about His death, burial, and resurrection.

Verse 25 right there says. “Ought not Christ to have SUFFERED these things.” Jesus Christ suffered for us.

  • False preachers HATE to hear about what Jesus Christ actually did. They don’t want to hear it.
  • They say, “There’s no way Jesus burned in hell. There’s no way Jesus suffered in hell.”
  • Why not? Can you tell me why not? No, you can’t because you have nothing.
  • You stand on sand. You sink. We stand on the word of God here, and we will not sink.

[47] Isaiah 53:2-4 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

  • He is acquainted with grief. He is despised and rejected of men. He is a man of SORROWS.
  • He was not esteemed. He hath borne our griefs. He has carried OUR SORROWS.
  • Don’t skip over the words of the Bible. He was stricken. He was SMITTEN OF GOD.
  • If He was smitten of God, what does that mean to you? That MEN beat Him. God didn’t beat His body.
  • God didn’t give Him the stripes on His body. But God did smite His soul in hell.
  • Smitten means struck or killed. Who do you think sent His soul to hell? It was God. He was smitten of God.

[48] Isaiah 53:5-7 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

  • He was wounded, bruised, and given stripes before He died on the cross. “By His stripes we are healed.”
  • That happened BEFORE He died. He suffered before, during, and after He died on the cross.

[49] Isaiah 53:8-9 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. 9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

  • He made His grave with the wicked. All the worldly preachers out there only think of the flesh.
  • They don’t think of the spiritual. When you read the Bible, you need to think both ways.
  • He went to hell where wicked people are located. The Bible says His soul was in hell.

[50] Isaiah 53:10-11 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

  • His soul is an offering for sin. Does this mean when His body was on the cross? Yes, it does.
  • Does this mean when His soul actually went to hell? Yes, it does. It means both body and soul.
  • “He shall see the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied.”

When Was God Satisfied With The Offering Of Jesus Christ? Did Everything End When Jesus Died On The Cross?

Now, let me ask you something. God was satisfied with the offering of Jesus Christ. WHEN?

  • If God was satisfied with ONLY Jesus dying on the cross, why did He go to hell for 3 days and 3 nights?
  • Why did Jesus need to offer His blood for our sins?
  • This is talking about His body on the cross AND His soul in hell. THEN, God was satisfied.
  • THEN, God resurrected Jesus Christ. This took 3 days and 3 nights of hell for Jesus Christ.
  • His soul was not left in hell.

[51] Hebrews 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

  • Jesus Christ didn’t only suffer on the cross. He has suffered many other things including being in hell.
  • So, let’s answer the question for this sermon once and for all.
  • How was Jesus in paradise with the thief when His body was buried and His soul was in hell?
  • The answer is very simple and easy if you would just understand who Jesus Christ actually happens to be.
  • We are not like Jesus Christ. We don’t look at ourselves and attempt to explain things.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is God. God is 3 persons in 1 God. Jesus is God. We are not like Him.

  • We can’t be in multiple places at once. God, obviously, can be.
  • For example, He says that He’ll be where 2 or more are gathered in His name. How is that possible?

[52] Matthew 22:42-45 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David. 43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, 44 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? 45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?

  • Have you not read the Bible? How can this be? Jesus is trying to explain all these things to us.
  • How can a man be the Son of David but also be David’s Creator?
  • How can a man be in paradise and in hell at the same time?
  • He became sin who knew no sin. How in the world can this be? How did He become sin? He is God.
  • Well, the Bible says that it’s possible. And you say? But I don’t understand.
  • It doesn’t matter if you don’t understand. It’s the truth.
  • Don’t make up fairy tales because you don’t understand.

[53] Luke 24:11 And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.

  • I am preaching what the Bible teaches. Does all of this seem like an idle tale or story to you?
  • Do you not believe what I am saying? Jesus fills the heavens and the earth. He is everywhere.

[54] Acts 3:15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

  • How can “THE” Prince of life be killed? How can the Prince of life be dead?
  • The Bible tells us that God cannot die. Jesus is God and God died.
  • But Jesus isn’t ALL OF GOD. There’s more. God the Father didn’t die on the cross.
  • God the Father didn’t go to hell. The Holy Spirit didn’t die on the cross.
  • The Holy Spirit didn’t suffer in hell. God was not dead. HE WAS ALIVE AND HE IS ALIVE ALWAYS.

When Jesus died on the cross, GOD WAS NOT DEAD. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was dead.

  • And you might say: “But I don’t understand.” Simply believe what God says.
  • Don’t make up fairy tales when something doesn’t make sense to you. Use the words of the Bible.
  • Some people will say that Jesus is man and Jesus is God. “Only the man part of Jesus died.”
  • This is another fairy tale. The Bible doesn’t say that only the man part of Jesus died.

Some people act as if the body of Jesus Christ was just a shell of a body that was nothing.

  • WRONG. His body was perfect. He never sinned. THAT WAS HIS BODY. And His body died. His soul died.
  • His body was buried. His soul went to hell. HE AROSE IN HIS BODY WITH HIS SOUL FROM HELL.
  • Acts 2:31 clearly tells us that the resurrection of Jesus Christ includes His body being resurrected from the tomb and His soul being resurrected from hell.

JESUS IS GOD. We can’t understand everything. Our understanding is not infinite.

  • But we can keep from making up lies that aren’t in the Bible. We can’t be everywhere at the same time.
  • We don’t understand the spiritual world. We don’t understand what it’s like for a soul to burn in hell.
  • We can imagine what it’s like for a fleshly body to burn with fire, but His body didn’t burn with fire.
  • Do you know what it’s like for a SOUL to burn in hell? I don’t. You don’t. We have no idea.
  • But Jesus Christ knows what it’s like because He knows all things, and He experienced it firsthand.
  • He also experiences it constantly by watching souls burn in hell.

[55] Revelation 14:10-11 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

  • What do you see in that Scripture? You see hell. You see fire, brimstone, eternity, and smoke.
  • You see that they have no rest day or night. You see the holy angels there in hell, but they aren’t burning.
  • They aren’t in torment. Who else do you see there in hell? You see the Lamb of God who was slain.
  • Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God and souls are being tormented in hell in His presence.
  • God created hell. Jesus created hell. He has the keys of death and of hell. Satan didn’t create hell.
  • Satan is not in charge of hell. Jesus is everywhere. He is in heaven, in the earth, and in hell.

People Who Teach That Jesus Didn’t Go To Hell Also Teach Many Other Fables

Some of these same people who teach that Jesus didn’t go to hell teach many other weird things.

  • They will say that God doesn’t throw people into hell. LIARS. They will say that God doesn’t hate anyone.
  • LIARS. They will say that Jesus Christ loves everyone no matter what. LIARS.
  • They will teach that Jesus Christ doesn’t cast anyone into hell.

[56] Matthew 13:41-42 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; 42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

  • The furnace of fire is hell. Jesus Christ CASTS people into the furnace of FIRE, which is hell.
  • There shall be wailing. There shall be gnashing of teeth.
  • These same people accuse me of preaching another Jesus. Why?
  • Is it because I can read clear Scripture and repeat what the Scriptures say? It’s not difficult.
  • Does Jesus Christ cast people into hell or not? That Scripture says YES HE DOES. They say, “No.”

[57] Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

  • God does the casting into the lake of fire. God owns the heavens. He owns the earth. He owns hell.
  • He created all of them. HE IS “THE” CREATOR.
  • So, you’re going to tell me that God can’t be with the thief in paradise and in hell at the same time?
  • Why would you say that can’t be? God says it can be. Have faith in His words. He says it can be.
  • You say that it can’t be. Who would be right? Of course you are wrong and God is right.

[58] 1 Timothy 1:4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

[59] 1 Timothy 4:7 But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

[60] 2 Timothy 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

[61] Titus 1:14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

  • All of these Seminary professors and Bible college scholars make up fables about the Bible.
  • Abraham’s bosom as a compartment in hell is a fable they have created.
  • The soul of Jesus Christ not going to hell is a fable they have created.
  • Angels having sexual relationships with women is a fable they have created.
  • The gap theory of creation is a fable they have created. God not hating anyone is a fable.
  • God loving everyone no matter what is a fable. A works based salvation is a fable.

Teaching that “It is finished” means that Jesus didn’t need to arise from the dead to save us is a fable.

  • Teaching people you must make Jesus Lord of your life to be saved is a fable.
  • Teaching that you must live a holy life to get to heaven is a fable.
  • Teaching that king Saul went to hell is a fable. Teaching that dogs go to heaven is a fable.
  • Teaching that women can be pastors according to God is a fable.
  • Teaching you must repent of all your sin to be saved is a fable.
  • Teaching that you must be baptized in water to go to heaven is a fable.

Teaching that people are saved by grace and works is a fable.

  • Teaching that we should have images of the cross everywhere is a fable.
  • Teaching that Jesus would wear a mask and get the Covid vaccine is a fable.
  • Teaching that Jesus loves sodomites is a fable. Teaching sinless perfection is a fable.
  • Teaching that we should obey all of the higher powers no matter what is a fable.
  • Teaching that the rapture could happen at any moment is a fable.
  • Teaching that the church begins in Acts Chapter 2 is a fable.

Teaching that the King James Bible has mistakes is a fable.

  • Teaching that we should feed homeless people who are able to work is a fable.
  • Teaching that the man-made nation of Israel will be saved by God is a fable.
  • Teaching that we shouldn’t fear anything is a fable.
  • Teaching dispensationalism is a fable. Teaching that God doesn’t care what you wear is a fable.
  • Teaching that women should have careers while sending their children to public school is a fable.
  • Teaching that the tribulation is a seven year period of time is a fable.
  • I could go on and on and on and on about these fables from men.

[62] 2 Peter 1:16-18 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

  • So, what is the truth and what is a fable? The truth is in the words of the Bible.
  • “For we have not followed cunningly devised fables.”
  • When someone preaches that Jesus didn’t go to hell, they are teaching a cunningly devised fable that some evil man taught previously.
  • The truth is here in this Bible. Any teaching in a church that says opposite is a fable. It’s cunningly devised.
  • It’s deceiving you. I don’t go by fables. I go by the word of God. And you can choose the same or not.

Jesus Means What He Says And It’s True

When Jesus says, “Today shalt thou be with me in paradise,” that’s what He meant.

  • And I believe what He says. When the Bible says that His soul was not left in hell, I believe it.
  • Jesus was in paradise with the thief. The soul of Jesus was in hell. How can this be?
  • Jesus is everywhere because He is God. Did He go to hell? Yes. Was He with the thief in paradise. Yes.
  • And I can hear the fools now: “Well, that can’t be.” YES IT CAN BE BECAUSE GOD SAID SO.

[63] 1 Kings 8:27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?

  • God cannot be contained by heaven, the earth, or hell. Jesus is God.

[64] Psalm 139:7-8 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? 8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

  • Is that HOLY and PERFECT Scripture right there not a good enough answer for you?
  • If the thief ascends up to heaven, THOU ART THERE.
  • If the other thief made his bed in hell, BEHOLD, THOU ART THERE.
  • People don’t like this answer. They like to hear fables. They like their ears tickled. I won’t tickle your ears.

We need to believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

  • His death includes His body dying on the cross and His soul going to hell. HE WAS DEAD.
  • He wasn’t attending a party in paradise. His death equals His body lifeless on the cross. His spirit left Him.
  • His burial was His body in the tomb and His soul in the center of the earth way down there.
  • His resurrection is His body arising from the tomb and being joined again with His spirit and His soul.

For someone to be LIVING, to show themselves to witnesses, and to eat and to drink:

  • THEY need a spirit, a body, and a soul. I didn’t make this up as a fable.
  • The Bible teaches this, and I showed you the Scriptures. Believe it or not. I could show you more.
  • But we don’t have any more time in this sermon. Read the Bible from cover to cover and over and over.
  • Listen, it’s very dangerous to deny that the soul of Jesus Christ went to hell.
  • You are literally playing with fire. You are denying the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
  • Your Jesus didn’t die and go to hell. The Jesus in the Bible did. He says so. He knows. You don’t.
  • So, you better make sure you are believing on the right Jesus. Be very careful.

I gave you 105 verses in this sermon today proving the doctrine that I teach.

  • I have verses from Genesis to Revelation and many places in between.
  • The doctrine I teach is formed from the actual verses within the Bible, which is the word of God.
  • I didn’t make up a fable. It’s your job now to determine who is teaching the fables.
  • Read your Bible. Study your Bible. Stop believing fables that are being taught everywhere now.
  • 100%, without a an ounce of doubt, the soul of Jesus Christ went to hell but was not left there.
  • Believe it OR continue to side with the man made doctrine filled with lies.

Let’s pray.
