[2] The title of the sermon: “PROVERBS CHAPTER 29.”

  • Let’s continue our verse by verse Bible Study in the Book of Proverbs.
  • We’ll start there in verse 1 of Proverbs Chapter 29.

[3] Proverbs 29:1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

  • Reproving is showing someone their fault for something that they’ve done wrong.
  • This is not your opinion of something you don’t agree with.
  • It would be something that is actually wrong. For example, you would reprove someone for lying.
  • You wouldn’t reprove someone for doing something that doesn’t fit your own personal rules.

If someone is fornicating, or having a sexual relationship outside of marriage, you should reprove them.

  • “Did you know that’s wrong according to God’s words? You should get married.” This is reproving.
  • Now let’s read the verse again. “He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck.”
  • People will do these things when you tell them that they are wrong. Your ways are not the best ways.

God’s ways are the best ways. We do things according to God’s words. When we don’t, we should be reproved.

  • If you are constantly breaking God’s rules, you will be often reproved when you’re around Christians.
  • If you harden your neck, and fight against the right ways, what’s going to happen?
  • “He shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.” There will be no way out.

[4] 2 Chronicles 36:13 And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the LORD God of Israel.

  • This is speaking of king Zedekiah of Judah. He stiffened his neck and hardened his heart.
  • He wouldn’t turn to the Lord God of Israel. He rejected His ways and wanted to do it his way.
  • Don’t be like this. Do the right thing. Follow God’s ways. Or expect sudden destruction.
  • Don’t be surprised if something happens suddenly.

[5] Proverbs 6:12-15 A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth. 13 He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers; 14 Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord. 15 Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.

  • Nothing can save these people. Without remedy. Let’s move to verse 2 of Proverbs Chapter 29.

[6] Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

  • We can’t wait for Jesus Christ to rule and reign on this earth. We will rejoice because He is righteous.
  • He doesn’t make mistakes. He doesn’t take bribes. He doesn’t agree with murdering babies.
  • He doesn’t agree with homosexuality. He doesn’t agree with lesbians. He doesn’t agree with theft.
  • He doesn’t agree with Joe Biden. He doesn’t respect Joe Biden. He doesn’t respect the antichrist.
  • When the antichrist rules on this earth, people will mourn.

[7] Esther 8:15 And Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, and with a great crown of gold, and with a garment of fine linen and purple: and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad.

  • No one wants to be under the rule of a wicked person. They can’t be trusted by anyone.
  • The city of Shushan rejoiced because a wicked ruler, Haman, was dead and Mordecai lives on.
  • We rejoice. God wins always. We lose battles, but we will win under the rule of Jesus Christ.
  • We humble ourselves to His rule and His authority. We are under Him always.
  • Because of Him, we have everything we need.

[8] Proverbs 29:3 Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.

  • Do you seek after wisdom or pleasure? Harlots or whores will take everything you have.
  • Everything will be gone including them. They love money, drugs, alcohol, and pleasure.
  • They will take it all from you and leave you alone. But wisdom will not do that.
  • Wisdom is the exact opposite of a harlot. Love wisdom and your father will rejoice.

[9] Proverbs 23:24-25 The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. 25 Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice.

  • A wise child will love the Bible and do their best to learn the Bible. They will grow in wisdom as they age.
  • Don’t ever put the Bible away. If you go a day or two without reading your Bible, take note.
  • It’s time to get your Bible back out and seeking God once again. Don’t lose wisdom you could have had.

[10] Proverbs 5:8-9 Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house: 9 Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel:

  • This speaks of a strange woman or a harlot. Don’t give yourself to her. Same goes for a strange man.
  • If you go after these strange people, people of the flesh, you will waste your years with the cruel.
  • Many men and women get trapped into this, and they are stuck in these ways.
  • Woman after woman. Man after man. Beating after beating. And children are stuck with these people.
  • Don’t give the years of your life to the cruel.

[11] Proverbs 29:4 The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.

  • Good judgement by a king establishes the land.
  • Taking bribes and gifts in exchange for unrighteous judgement is evil and wicked.
  • The land will not be established this way. Do our leaders take gifts in exchange for bad judgement?
  • Of course they do, and you can see the results within this country. We’re going down.

But, if we had a leader that would make the right decisions based on God’s words, the land would be established.

  • Taking bribes and gifts simply overthrows the land. And citizens of the country fight among themselves.
  • I’ve never seen the people of this country argue and fight so much.
  • I’ve never seen so many people fight for the murder of unborn babies.
  • A righteous leader would command the people to stop their evil ways or suffer the consequences.
  • But not in this country. People are encouraged to continue in their evil ways.

[12] Proverbs 29:5 A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.

  • A neighbor who is constantly flattering you is one who might be trapping you with a net.
  • The Bible says in Proverbs Chapter 7 that a strange woman will flatter you with her words.
  • Flattery leads to you yielding to the wants of people. This leads to you compromising the right ways.
  • Proverbs Chapter 20 tells us that talebearers will flatter you with their lips.
  • Proverbs Chapter 26 tells you that people who hate you will flatter you with their lips.
  • A flattering mouth worketh ruin. The Bible teaches this so many times. Be very careful.

[13] Psalm 5:9 For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.

  • Many preachers in churches today are expected to flatter the people in their congregation.
  • Older women, many who have short hair, love the flattery, and they use it on others themselves.
  • They flatter with the tongue but their inward part is very wickedness.
  • They speak the flattery but they are double hearted. They will then think horrible things about you.
  • One heart says, “Oh you look so amazing today” while the others says, “Wow, that dress is so ugly.”

[14] Psalm 12:2 They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.

  • Don’t ever be like this evil and wicked people who use flattery to get what they want. That’s all they do.
  • They want to get something from you. They want you to follow their evil ways.
  • Don’t do it. They are trapping you. Trust the words of the Bible.

[15] Proverbs 29:6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.

  • An evil man is trapped and he doesn’t even realize it. He loves doing evil.
  • For the wages of sin is death. The trap he is running towards is death.
  • But the righteous, saved by God’s grace through faith, sing and rejoice because their sin is forgiven.
  • And they don’t love the sin they commit. But the evil man loves what he does.
  • He loves how he hurts people. He loves how he causes problems for everyone around. He’s trapped.

[16] Proverbs 5:22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.

  • Sins tie you up and hold you down. They take you to hell. Don’t be tricked. Don’t get trapped.
  • You need Jesus Christ. Trust in Him for salvation. He is the Savior of the world. You need Him.
  • Then, once you believe on Jesus Christ alone, you can rejoice and be free of death and sin.

[17] Proverbs 29:7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.

  • Saved people will consider the cause of the poor. The wicked could care less.
  • The righteous will want to help the poor. The wicked will want to take from the poor.

[18] Job 29:14-17 I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment was as a robe and a diadem. 15 I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame. 16 I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out. 17 And I brake the jaws of the wicked, and plucked the spoil out of his teeth.

  • Job looked out for the blind and walked for the lame. He was a father to the poor who had no father.
  • He searched out the cause of the poor. He broke the jaws of the wicked.
  • He plucked the spoil out of the teeth of the wicked. The wicked men of this world prey on the poor.
  • They take advantage of the fatherless, widows, the blind, and the lame.

[19] Job 31:19-22 If I have seen any perish for want of clothing, or any poor without covering; 20 If his loins have not blessed me, and if he were not warmed with the fleece of my sheep; 21 If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, when I saw my help in the gate: 22 Then let mine arm fall from my shoulder blade, and mine arm be broken from the bone.

  • Job was the most upright man on the face of the earth. He gave clothing to those who had none.
  • “If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, then let mine arm fall from my shoulder blade.”
  • “Let mine arm be broken from the bone.” Considereth the cause of the poor. Do something for them.
  • Help the fatherless. Help the poor. God says to do so.

[20] Proverbs 29:8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.

  • Scornful men or men who defy the authority of leaders and of God will trap their own city.
  • Wise men respect authority and especially respect God’s authority over all. They turn away wrath.
  • Scornful men stir up strife. They start problems constantly. They love to run their mouth in secret.

[21] James 3:5-6 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

  • Scornful men are backbiters and whisperers. The tongue is a fire. Use it with caution.
  • Let’s continue in Proverbs Chapter 29 verse 9.

[22] Proverbs 29:9 If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.

  • You will never rest when contending with a foolish man. He can rage or laugh. Doesn’t matter. No rest.
  • It’s absolutely worthless to argue with a foolish man. You’re wasting your time.
  • But sometimes you don’t know the man. When soul winning, you’ll run into foolish men and women.
  • You’ll only realize this after they won’t hear or listen to God’s words. So we move on.
  • Don’t be a fool who won’t listen to anyone. Don’t be a fool who thinks only you are always right.

[23] Ecclesiastes 10:12-14 The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself. 13 The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness: and the end of his talk is mischievous madness. 14 A fool also is full of words: a man cannot tell what shall be; and what shall be after him, who can tell him?

  • A fool’s lips will SWALLOW UP himself. The end of his talk is mischievous madness. Full of words.
  • They talk. You don’t talk. Who can tell him anything? Don’t contend with a fool.

[24] Proverbs 29:10 The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.

  • People who are saved by Jesus Christ will seek the upright. They want to be around those people.
  • The bloodthirsty are the opposite. They hate the upright. They want to be around wicked men.
  • They would rather go to a church that flatters them than to hear the actual word of God.

They don’t want to hear that it’s a shame for a man to have long hair. A woman should have long hair.

  • It is a glory to her. But many short haired women will hate me for saying that. They are bloodthirsty.
  • They hate the preaching of God’s actual words. They love the preacher that will tickle their ears.
  • Instead of seeking someone who is upright, they hate the upright. The just seeks the soul of the upright.

[25] Genesis 4:8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

  • If Cain were a just man, he would have sought after the soul of his brother instead of murdering him.
  • John the Baptist was murdered for telling the truth. Stephen? Same thing. Bloodthirsty.
  • Preachers and so-called “Christians” hate me for preaching that the soul of Jesus Christ went to hell.

They hate me for saying that Jesus had to be buried and arise from the dead for the sacrifice to be complete.

  • The Gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. “Bloodthirsties” love the death of Jesus.
  • The Catholics love to see Jesus hanging dead on the cross. They put it everywhere.
  • God didn’t say to do this. People act as if the image of the cross represents Christians.
  • God hates any image that people use to represent Him. He says, “I HATE GRAVEN IMAGES.”
  • These same people don’t want to preach the burial and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is the Gospel.

[26] Proverbs 29:11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.

  • A fool doesn’t take the time to think about anything. They will utter their immediate thoughts.
  • They will cause trouble this way. Fools do this. A wise man keepeth it in until later.
  • A wise man will tell you his thoughts afterwards. He gathers information. A fool doesn’t care.

[27] Proverbs 12:23 A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.

  • Take some time to think about something before you just blurt it all out.

[28] Proverbs 15:28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.

  • For example, we study the words of the Bible here to answer questions we have.
  • If we do a study of the entire Bible correctly, we will find the answer. A fool will not agree after this study.
  • A fool will still argue about the clear word of God. They will pour out evil things from their mouth.

[29] Proverbs 29:12 If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.

  • A good ruler over anything will not hearken to lies. He will not compromise for flattery.
  • He is not afraid to lose something than agree with lies. He will side with the truth.

[30] Proverbs 20:8 A king that sitteth in the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes.

  • You can find good kings within the Bible. The servants would be afraid to come with lies to this king.
  • You can’t lie to Jesus Christ and get away with it. Thank God He is coming to reign one day.
  • And His righteous servants, in new and glorified bodies, will reign with Him one day.

[31] Proverbs 29:13 The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lighteneth both their eyes.

  • Understand that all people have the light of the Lord within their eyes.
  • That light is the life within these people. Remember that when you talk with people.
  • This gives you hope to win them to Jesus Christ. This is why we don’t reject everyone.
  • This is why we invite people to church. The Lord has lit both their eyes. He gave them life.

[32] Proverbs 22:2 The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all.

  • So, before you decide you are so much better than everyone else, maybe you should read the Bible.
  • There are none good, no, not one. All our righteousness are as filthy rags. God made all of us.
  • He has mercy on all. Stop acting as if you’re better than everyone else.

[33] Proverbs 29:14 The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.

  • When there is a matter to judge, the king is supposed to faithfully judge the poor.
  • There is no respect of persons in judgement. A righteous king will judge the matter.
  • His throne shall be established forever. We are to make good judgements.

For example, a pastor’s judgement should be righteous and people should give some respect to his judgement.

  • If you’ve been at a good church for a while, and the pastor of that church makes a judgement in a situation that happened, you should at least give some weight to his judgement.
  • I think I’ve proven in the past 10 years or so that I make good judgements. Not always.
  • So-called “Christians” are the most difficult people in the world to get along with.
  • They are the ones, usually, who won’t listen to my judgements in matters.
  • They break the words of the Bible. They get mad and go their own way. They quit. I don’t quit.

[34] Proverbs 29:15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

  • This all related. Did you notice adults in this country can’t take any reproof?
  • They especially don’t like it when a pastor reproves them. They are like children left alone.
  • And they are because they won’t submit to any authority in their life. Not even a pastor of a church.

It’s easy to see when a grown man or woman was never whipped by their parents regularly when doing wrong.

  • “The rod and reproof give wisdom.” They believe a harmless joke is abuse.
  • They believe raising your voice is wrong. Their feelings get hurt very easily.
  • They think they were abused as a child because someone called them a name.
  • The rod and reproof as a child, teenager, and young adult teaches them to get over themselves.
  • But the snowflake generation cannot take anything. Sunlight is too much for them and they melt.

The rod and reproof teaches you to not be so sensitive over every little thing someone else does.

  • Your feelings get hurt when you get whipped. You learn to get over it fast.
  • Seriously, get over it. You can’t take anything. How will you make it out there?
  • God doesn’t like complaining and especially when it’s over dumb stuff that doesn’t matter.
  • When someone lives by their feelings, everyone hurts them. So a meeting must take place.
  • “Do you know you hurt my feelings? You were wrong to hurt my feelings.”
  • That’s called too much estrogen. Get over yourself. Grow up. Stop whining about everything.

If you can’t take any reproof when you cause strife, then don’t come here.

  • If you want to act like a pastor should bow to your every want and need, don’t come here.
  • If your feelings are more important to you than preaching the Gospel, go sit in the house all day.
  • This church isn’t a place for whiners and complainers. You don’t get everything you want here.

If you want to learn the truth and gain wisdom, then come here. If you want reproof, then come here.

  • Reproof gives wisdom. If you think you’re perfect and right all the time, don’t come here.
  • If you want to be the authority of this church all the time, don’t come here.
  • If you are a woman and want to lead this church, don’t come here. Know your place.
  • If you don’t like what I just said, read about it in the Bible. And then tell God you don’t like it either.

[35] Proverbs 29:16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.

  • When people who know everything are multiplied, transgression increaseth.
  • When people who won’t have any authority in their life are multiplied, transgression increaseth.
  • Stop acting like you’re wicked if you aren’t wicked. You will fall because you ignore God’s words.

You will fall. Don’t continue in your ways as this is wicked. Don’t multiply your transgressions by running away.

  • If so, you will fall. You need to find a good church and submit to the authority there.
  • If there are decisions you don’t like, too bad. Get over it. Your feelings don’t run this world.
  • If a sinner is invited to an event, you’ll have good company there because you’re a sinner too.
  • You’re only righteous because Jesus saved you. You would be going to hell if it weren’t for Jesus.

If you hate being around sinners for a couple of hours, how will you win anyone to Jesus Christ?

  • Oh, do you not care to win anyone to Jesus Christ? See, that’s the problem.
  • Someone might hurt your feelings when soul winning so you must go back inside the house.
  • The sun might give you a freckle. This is far more important than winning a soul to Jesus Christ.
  • In reality, it’s not even close. Our job is to win souls to Jesus Christ.

Take a look at what you’re doing before you accuse everyone else of being so bad.

  • My wife submits to me and does what I say. Maybe you should try that for once. She is a good example.
  • A wife who does not submit to her husband and secretly wants to run everything is not a good example.
  • Instead, this would be a very questionable wife. A questionable wife unrighteously judges everyone.
  • We are to judge righteously according to God’s words.

[36] Proverbs 29:17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.

  • A good son or daughter or adult will take correction. Most people don’t want to be corrected.
  • When we are wrong, we take the correction and start doing things right.
  • None of us are perfect, but at least we try to get better and do better.
  • If you are never wrong, then you won’t get better or do better. There is a right and a wrong.
  • We teach our children to do right. They will give us rest. And they shall give delight unto thy soul.
  • Same things for us as children of God. He corrects us. We do right and He is delighted with us.

[37] Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

  • We have a vision here, and it’s based directly on the Bible. We want to get people saved.
  • How? We convince them to change their mind and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • We want them to put their trust in Jesus Christ alone and not of themselves and not of works.
  • Once people get saved, we want to baptize them.
  • And then we want to give them a church that teaches the Scriptures. These are our goals and vision.

We want to teach people to follow God’s commandments. We teach His laws.

  • Most people, even so-called Christians, don’t want to hear this anymore.
  • For some, false accusations are more important based on their feelings.
  • For some, creating false witnesses are more important. Priorities are all jacked up for many.
  • “Oh, I’m just happy that I’m going to heaven. Now my feelings and ways are the most important.”

“I love to create strife within a church and then go my way.” Hey, there’s more important things.

  • You need to have the right priorities, or you will perish. Actually keep God’s laws.
  • And actually love someone instead of running away constantly. You have differences? Run away.
  • My Dad and I have had differences before, but we don’t run away and never talk to each other again.
  • Pam and I have had differences, but we don’t quit on each other.
  • The concrete guy and I had differences but he didn’t quit on me like I thought he would.

So many people in today’s world can’t take something so they run away to the next place.

  • And the next place. And the next place. And the next place. When you quit, you don’t get any better.
  • When you find some resistance, you go the other way. This is called WEAK. Stop being weak.
  • Listen to God’s words. Search the Scriptures. You don’t quit your family in Christ. You can’t.
  • Maybe you don’t realize it’s your family for eternity.

[38] Proverbs 29:19 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.

  • Some people can’t be corrected by words. You ask: “Do you not understand what you did?”
  • “For though he understand, he will not answer.” People will act like they have no clue what they did.
  • They will not be corrected by words.
  • For example, if you bring an accusation against an elder, you better have 2 to 3 witnesses with you and not 4 to 5 against you that saw everything.
  • But, will you allow the words of the Bible to correct you or not? If not, you become a fool.

[39] Proverbs 29:20 Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

  • Don’t you love when a person sets a time limit for a meeting? On the agenda to talk is them first.
  • They get to talk. You don’t interrupt. Then the other one gets to talk. Don’t interrupt.
  • You’ll get to talk later when the time limit is up. And you better agree with them too.

“Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words?” I was told not to think about what happened. “That’s the problem.”

  • “You shouldn’t be thinking about what happened.” No, you are wrong. I am not hasty in my words.
  • My wife knows me well. I think about everything. God gave me a brain.
  • I use God’s words to guide me in the judgements I make. Don’t be hasty or hurried in your words. Think.

When I know something is wrong according to the Bible, it’s wrong.

  • False accusations are wrong. Maybe you should read about those in the Bible.
  • You see? I know what the Bible says. The man who accused Daniel falsely was thrown into the lion’s den.
  • Liars change their stories. Liars are hasty in their words. Backbiters and whisperers.
  • We shouldn’t call ourselves Christians and act this way. If we do, we should repent. We should be sorry.

[40] Proverbs 29:21 He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.

  • Is it our job to delicately bring up a servant from a child so they can become a son at the length?
  • No, it isn’t. If you’re too delicate when bringing up a child, you’ll end up like a snowflake. Very delicate.
  • Don’t hurt their feelings. Give them everything they want. Don’t raise your voice. Don’t reprove.
  • Don’t rebuke. Don’t punish. Don’t chasten. Don’t say stupid. Be kind. Drop everything for their feelings.
  • When children are delicately raised and never have to go through anything, look out!!!

You’re going to have some problems. If you think a girl can’t go outside and work, you’re going to have some problems.

  • If you think push mowing your yard for 15 minutes is hard work outside, you’re going to have problems.
  • We’ll go over Proverbs Chapter 31 soon. Maybe women should read this.
  • If you think a boy can’t get dirty outside, you’re going to have big problems.
  • Be careful because you might raise an effeminate son because his mommy won’t let him get dirty outside.
  • His mommy won’t let him work outside as he gets older.
  • Many men raised this way allow their wife to treat them like a little boy too.
  • Delicate. Hey, it’s okay to be delicate at times. But not all the time. Life is not delicate. Life can be brutal.

[41] Proverbs 29:22 An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.

  • People who go against God’s words stir up strife and God gets angry.
  • Is God unrighteous for getting angry? No, He didn’t stir up the strife. The man with unrighteous anger did.
  • The angry man jumps at you when you tell the truth.
  • “Oh, were you trying to scare me? You should have told me so I could have jumped in fear.”
  • If you didn’t already know this, I don’t jump in fear for any man. I’m not a runner.

A furious man aboundeth in transgression. What are you so angry about? You started the strife.

  • And now you’re mad because we tell the truth why you sit there and make up more lies?
  • Wow. Unbelievable “Christians.” But no, in their eyes, they are always right.
  • Liars stir up strife. Liars are angry and continue to lie. False accusations out of nowhere. ANGRY.
  • Please, don’t be like this in your life. Don’t stir up problems for no reason and then get angry.

[42] Proverbs 29:23 A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

  • Some people are very prideful and this country teaches that you should have pride. They are wrong.
  • We are very proud in this country. Why? Because we have a pride month.
  • If the pride month were for God, then we wouldn’t have such a huge problem.
  • Are we really proud of drag queens teaching our children in story time?
  • Are we really proud of being right all the time? Are we proud of not doing what God says?
  • Maybe we should be proud to have a perfect and holy God. All the glory goes to God. Not to us.

“A man’s pride shall bring him low. But honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.”

  • We must know that we aren’t perfect in our ways. This is how we will be humble.
  • We must know and understand that we aren’t good. So we ask God to search us.
  • Show us if we did something wrong. If we did, we apologize and correct the mistakes.
  • We are sorry for what we’ve done wrong.

If we think we are always right, we’ll never be sorry for doing wrong.

  • Prideful people are never wrong and pride goeth before destruction. I don’t want to be destructed.
  • Do you want to be destroyed? I sure don’t. “Before destruction the heart of man is haughty.”
  • But humility goes before honor. God honors you when you humble yourself.

[43] Proverbs 29:24 Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.

  • You must be careful who you are partnering with in this life.
  • Someone you think is an honorable person might not be. In my experience, it’s more negative.
  • For example, I don’t give up and quit on people so easy. I like to trust people.
  • I would like to hope they wouldn’t give up and quit on me. God doesn’t give up on His children.
  • If you’re a child of God, God doesn’t give up on you. So why quit on your brothers and sisters in Christ?

Sometimes I have almost made partners with people who I later found out to be different than I thought.

  • So be very careful in your life. The Book of Proverbs gives you all of this wisdom from God.
  • If you partner with a thief, you hate your own soul.
  • You’ll hear cursing of God from these people, and you bewrayeth it not or don’t even say anything.
  • If you’re partners with people who curse God, you better get away from them.

[44] Proverbs 29:25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

  • You should really listen and pay attention to this verse.
  • As this world continues in its current path, this will be very important for Christians.
  • A Christian loves Jesus Christ and will stand up against evil no matter who it comes from.

For example, I will stand up against you when you make a false accusation. I don’t respect your person.

  • I don’t care who you are. It’s evil and wickedness. And I’ll have a sermon soon on accusations.
  • You should study the word “accustation” within the Bible in all its forms.
  • We don’t fear man because this brings a snare or a trap to us.

For example, I don’t fear what a man might do to me.

  • When I wouldn’t take a shot for a possible disease I might catch, my job was threatened.
  • I don’t fear losing my job. I’ll find another job. God works things together for us because we love Him.
  • It doesn’t bother me to lose money. We’ll find a way. We will put our trust in the Lord and not man.
  • If a man is threatening you, put your trust in the Lord. You shall be safe. Actually trust Him.

Do you believe this simple verse right here or not?

  • It’s your choice right now. I don’t fear a man. I don’t fear a woman. God is with me.
  • If God decides it’s time for me to die, I will die. If God decides it’s not time for me to die, I will live on.
  • “But whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.” That’s the truth. Believe it or not.

[45] Proverbs 29:26 Many seek the ruler’s favour; but every man’s judgment cometh from the LORD.

  • Right things come from the Lord. Justice comes from the Lord.
  • Righteousness and wisdom come from Him. But yet, people will seek the favor of a different ruler.
  • Many will compromise because of respect of persons. Could be a manager, politician, coach, pastor, pope.
  • Could be anyone with some authority or rule over things. Could be a husband or a wife.

For example, a husband might seek his wife’s favor for many different reasons and compromise.

  • If your wife is ruling over you, you’ll compromise so you can gain favor with her. This is wrong.
  • Instead, we should always look to do right according to God’s words.
  • And let me be clear since the snowflake generation is upon us. I’m not talking about anyone who is here right now in this room.

[46] Proverbs 29:27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.

  • Unjust men and just men do not go together. An unjust man is an abomination or hated to the just.
  • For example, drug dealers are an abomination to Christians. Or, they should be.
  • A Christian should rebuke a drug dealer. If they continue in their ways, we reject them.
  • We stay away from them. If they want to change their ways, we welcome them back.

But, until then, the upright are an abomination to the wicked. They will hate you for doing good.

  • The upright are the people who are saved by the blood of Jesus Christ and doing right.
  • The wicked are those who are doing evil and wicked things constantly.
  • If they were saved and doing wickedness constantly, they would die most likely.
  • God doesn’t put up with this. He will end them. He gives examples in the Bible.

So, how would the just and the unjust man get along and live in peace?

  • The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only answer. The just gives the Gospel to the unjust.
  • The unjust can believe in Jesus Christ or not. If they choose to believe in Jesus, they become just.
  • And then they have a choice to make. Change their ways or perish in this life.
  • They can choose to walk in the Spirit or in the flesh. Which will they choose? They have a choice.
  • And this is a personal choice. And then, there will be peace between 2 just and upright people.

Let’s pray.
