[2] The title of the sermon: “PROVERBS CHAPTER 31.”
- Let’s continue our verse by verse Bible Study in the Book of Proverbs.
- We are on the last chapter in the Book of Proverbs. I am very excited to finish this book!
- We’ll start there in verse 1 of Proverbs Chapter 31. We have 31 verses to go through.
- Remember, all of these words are filled with Godly wisdom.
[3] Proverbs 31:1 The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.
- In Proverbs Chapter 31, we see the words of king Lemuel.
- These words of prophecy were taught to him by his mother. Realize the importance of mothers.
- A good mother who loves God and follows His words is of utmost importance.
- If there are any mothers out there listening right now, please pay attention.
- Please believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Teach your children His ways directly from the Bible.
- King Lemuel’s mother taught her son.
Who is king Lemuel? I don’t know for sure as there are only 2 instances of his name in the Bible.
- Both are in this chapter. Some people will say Lemuel is a symbolic name for Solomon.
- I don’t think so, but I could be wrong. We don’t have any further information on Lemuel.
- We know he is a king. We know his name is Lemuel. We know his mother taught him these things.
[4] Proverbs 31:2-3 What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows? 3 Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
- This mother teaches her son to not give thy strength unto women.
- Nor give thy ways to that which destroyeth kings. Obviously, God meant for men to be in power.
- Men are not better than women but God gave us each roles to take on in this life.
Men, don’t give your strength to women. Men are to be the leaders of the homes and the leaders in this world.
- When men are weak, the women will be the leaders. And that’s what’s happening now.
- Women who profess to be Godly Christians are running for political offices and leadership positions.
- But God gives women their roles within the Bible. And it’s not to be a king or a leader over men.
- And yes, I understand what I am saying will be considered “toxic masculinity” but I don’t really care.
The women who wanted to be the leaders were women like Jezebel and Athaliah.
- If you don’t know these 2 women, look them up in the Bible.
- God chose Deborah to be a judge because the men wouldn’t do it.
- The Bible warns men NOT to give their strength to women. At home, the husband is the leader.
Many husbands give up this leadership role. They are happy giving it up because they are lazy.
- And then they don’t mind giving up leadership positions elsewhere. God didn’t design things this way.
- Woman came out of man and a woman is designed to be the helper to the man.
- Again, I don’t care if you don’t like this. God teaches this throughout the Bible.
- Women are to be keepers at home. Women are to raise the children.
- Women are to submit to their husbands. These are God’s commandments: Old and New Testament.
If you are a woman and you don’t think this applies to you:
- I guess you think you are the one and only WOMAN who God gives a pass to.
- He’s not giving you a pass.
- If you call yourself a Christian and don’t do these things, you aren’t following Jesus Christ.
- Godly women will follow God’s words in the Bible. But today, women hate what I just said.
- As a woman, you should be doing and teaching the right things.
- This woman is teaching her son all the right things. This is the inspired word of God.
What are one of the top things that destroyed good kings within the Bible?
- Can you think of one? Women. Don’t give your ways to many women who destroy kings.
- God commands in Deuteronomy Chapter 17 to not multiply wives to yourselves.
- In today’s world, families are being destroyed by adulterous men and women.
Kids end up having 2, 3, 4, 5, and even more families to switch between.
- They are rarely ever with their original dad and mom as God intended them to be.
- There will be obedience problems for the children and the wives. Wives, obey your husbands.
- That means the one husband that you are to marry and stay with.
- David sinned over a woman taking a bath. He couldn’t help himself. Men have issues with this.
- Many women out there target men because they know their weakness is women.
[5] 1 Kings 11:3-6 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart. 4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father. 5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. 6 And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.
- Solomon’s weakness was, obviously, women. He loved women. He wanted more women.
- The women destroyed king Solomon. There is warning after warning within the Bible.
- And it’s good for young men to see this BEFORE they make many mistakes.
[6] Proverbs 31:4-5 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: 5 Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.
- Whenever people see the word wine in the Bible, they automatically think of highly alcoholic wine.
- When you study the Bible from cover to cover, though, we hardly see juice mentioned.
- We see it used once in Song of Solomon.
- The verse says, “I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine of the juice of my pomegranate.”
- Fruit juices turn into alcoholic wine after some time.
Wine in the Bible doesn’t always refer to highly alcoholic wine as people believe.
- Jesus turned the water into wine or fruit juice.
- I do not believe that He turned the water into highly alcoholic wine and got everyone drunken on alcohol.
- Kings are in authority. They have a responsibility to fulfill. They are not there to forget things.
- Eating good food and drinking good drink will cause you to forget about things for a while.
- Alcohol will cause you to forget about things for a while and cause many other issues.
- A king’s job doesn’t allow him to drink, forget the law, and pervert his judgment in ANY WAY.
- If you’re constantly trying to forget all your problems instead of solving them, you’re in big trouble.
[7] Proverbs 31:6-7 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. 7 Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
- If you’re ready to perish, if that’s what you want, then have strong drink. You will perish.
- If you are in so much poverty and misery, this is probably because you don’t care about God.
- We pray to not be in poverty. He will answer those prayers as we follow Him.
- You should not be in misery. Fix the problems. Believe in Jesus and do what He says.
We are not to drink alcohol. We are to be sober. We are to judge righteous judgement.
- We cannot do that if we are drunken. And yes, the drunken part starts as soon as you begin drinking.
- Your judgement begins to deteriorate and get worse with every sip you take.
- Don’t tell me that it doesn’t. Don’t attempt to act as if it’s okay. Read Proverbs Chapter 23.
[8] Proverbs 23:29-31 Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? 30 They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. 31 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright.
- There are different types of wine as the Bible explains. Fruit juices equal wine equals not drunk.
- You will be merry with great fruit juice to drink. I love it. But I don’t drink tons and tons of it.
- For example, I look forward to drinking a cranberry, pomegranate, beet juice drink. It tastes good.
- Do I need to get merry on this juice, drink tons, eat whatever I want and forget about all my problems?
Do you know when it’s okay to get drunk? When you’re ready to perish or die because you might end up dead.
- “Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish.” If you do that, your friend might just die.
- People will take that Scripture and say that God is saying it’s good to give alcohol to people.
- If it’s not good for a king, it’s not good for anyone else. I want to read this Scripture again.
[9] Proverbs 31:6-7 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. 7 Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
- The man who is getting the strong drink is in poverty. It says that he will “forget his poverty.”
- Now, with that said, do you really think God wants you to be in poverty? No.
- All the drinking is doing is helping you stay in poverty.
[10] Proverbs 23:20-21 Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh: 21 For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.
- God doesn’t want you drinking alcohol. We are commanded to be sober at all times.
[11] Proverbs 31:8-9 Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. 9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
- Some people are not able to talk and defend themselves properly.
- They are the poor and the needy. They actually are poor and needy.
- These are not the deceivers out there in our country today who act as if they are poor.
- They are rich and take from the poor. Hey, open your mouth for these people.
The evil target the weaker people: widows, orphans, the poor, and the needy.
- For example, drug dealers will get the weaker people hooked on drugs and destroy them.
- Judge righteously. If they’ve done wrong, they don’t get by with it. Don’t take this the wrong way.
- If a man is stealing because he won’t work and is poor, it’s not okay. He doesn’t get by with it.
- Teach the man the right ways so he doesn’t steal again. Feed him. Help him.
- When he’s doing things right, help him some more. Plead the cause for those who can’t.
Now, we are to the point in Proverbs Chapter 31 with the virtuous woman.
- Pay close attention to the virtuous woman here or the good woman.
- I have 4 young daughters at this time: 14, 11, 6, and almost 1. They need to listen to this.
[12] Proverbs 31:10-12 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. 11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. 12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
- The price of a good woman is far above rubies. Her worth is so much greater.
- Find a good husband that loves Jesus Christ before you. This is the number one requirement.
- Love God, and you will follow all the commandments. If loving God is last, this will not end good.
- The husband’s heart will safely trust in her and that means so much to a man.
Do good to your husband by following God’s commandments and loving God with all your heart.
- For example, when God says to hate evil, the women should hate evil.
- But, the deception is so great in this world that the women think they are to hate nothing.
- “I have no hate in my heart. I won’t go to a good church that preaches to hate evil because this is just wrong.”
- Listen women. You are to follow what God says and be aligned in the word of God with your husband.
- He is your leader. You are to obey him in the Lord. Don’t fight against his good judgement. Don’t do evil.
[13] Proverbs 31:13-14 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. 14 She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
- A good woman, or virtuous woman, will work WILLINGLY with her hands. She doesn’t hide from work.
- For example, when I need some help with hard work outside, a good woman will not hide.
- She works hard with her hands every day. She seeks out clothing for her family.
- She goes as far as needed to find the right foods for her family. Little Debbie’s are not good food.
[14] Proverbs 31:15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
- She rises before the sun and gets food prepared. A good woman is not lazy.
- She doesn’t lay in the bed constantly. She doesn’t sit on the couch constantly.
- There’s not a lazy bone in her body. She is an extremely hard worker who is diligent.
- Breakfast is a very important meal. Some people say it isn’t now. But it is.
- A good breakfast will help you to feel good, work harder, and think clearly.
Notice the importance of the jobs that God assigned to women. These are not small jobs.
- These are jobs and responsibilities that matter greatly. Everything you eat affects you.
- The job of a good woman is to provide meat to her household. NUTRITION TO THE BODIES.
- And this is a great job to have. I greatly appreciate all the food that my wife prepares for us.
She knows what is good for us and what is bad for us. As a woman, you need to know these things.
- You will keep your family strong and healthy. You will help your kids develop properly.
- A tractor doesn’t run on water. It runs on good fuel. The human body needs good fuel.
- A good woman knows the good fuel that her family needs.
[15] Proverbs 31:16-17 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. 17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
- A good woman works hard. She is a keeper at home but these things are included.
- She doesn’t stay inside the house all the time as some people will preach.
- She takes care of things outside the house. The children can help too. They can learn how to work too.
- She is strong. Does the Bible say a woman should be physically weak? No, never does God say that.
A good woman will have a physically strong body. A 50 pound bag of dog food shouldn’t be difficult to lift.
- Some women think 20 pounds is too difficult to lift. Are you serious? My broken pinky can lift that.
- If you can’t lift 20 pounds, you aren’t strengthening your arms. You aren’t doing physical work.
- A virtuous woman girdeth her loins with strength and strengtheneth her arms.
- You can see CLEARLY what this chapter is teaching. This is the Book of Proverbs.
God wants us to eat the right things, stay sober, keep nasty things out of our bodies, work hard, and strengthen ourselves.
- We eat foods that God gave us. Stop eating packaged and processed foods. No fast food. It will kill you.
- No little debbies. They will kill you. No candy, energy drinks, drugs, pain pills, medicines.
- Eat healthy meats, milks, nuts, seeds, grains, vegetables, fruits. You don’t need other things.
- Stay away from alcohol, marijuana, prescription drugs, and other foreign substances.
- Exercise. Work hard physically. Be strong physically and even stronger spiritually.
- There’s no reason to be lazy, out of shape, and unhealthy. Trust God with all things.
If a God wants a woman of His to be strong, what do you think He wants for the men?
- He doesn’t like effeminate men who are weak. You can see this throughout the Bible.
- God wants men to be strong leaders. Set the example. Show your family the right ways.
- Show your friends the right ways. Do not compromise for anything.
- When something is wrong, it is wrong. No compromise. Strength. Toughness.
- Spiritually and physically. If your wife can lift an 80 pound bag of mortar, then you better lift more.
My wife, 42 years old, helped me move 80 pound bags of mortar mix. Were they pushing her limits a little?
- Yes, but she did it. I made it a contest. We had about 20 bags to move the other day from the trailer.
- I had about 15 and she had 5. But that’s called helping me. Was it more difficult for her? Yes.
- I moved many railroad ties on my own the other day while sick. Hey, it’s time to get stronger.
- It’s time to move. It’s time to lift things. It’s time to exercise. Physically and spiritually.
- You can do it. Get up and start moving. Start with walking and move up from there.
[16] Proverbs 31:18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
- A good woman does good work. She cooks food that is good. She might mess up at times.
- She isn’t perfect. But she works on it and makes things better. Her garden produces good stuff.
- The things that she makes are good. And if it isn’t good, she works harder on it.
“Her candle goeth not out by night.” Hey, listen, her candle is not going out. She doesn’t quit.
- She doesn’t give up. Her light is forever. She is saved with everlasting life. She keeps going.
- If she needs to work into the night for a specific reason, she gets it done.
- She is always caring for the things of God and for her family.
[17] 1 Thessalonians 2:9 For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.
- A virtuous woman, a good woman, will preach the Gospel. She will labor night and day.
- Her leader, her husband, should lead in that and show her the way. LABORING NIGHT AND DAY.
- Think about this. We have day, and we have night. When the sun is up, this is the day.
- When the sun is down, this is the night. APPROXIMATELY.
For example, right now, the sun comes up around 8 AM and sets around 7 PM.
- In the Bible, day is about 6 AM to 6 PM and night is 6 PM to 6 AM.
- Midnight or middle of the night is 12 AM. If I work into the night, I am working past 6 PM.
- We do this constantly. I work hard all day long and continue into the night. My wife does the same.
- This is what this means. We labor night and day. For example, I missed a sermon on Sunday.
- So, yesterday, I recorded the sermon twice. The video messed up the first time.
- Took me 3 hours to preach that one. We labor day and night.
That sermon, titled “Justified by Works,” will help other people.
- Many will tell me that we must have works to be saved or to be justified in front of God.
- They will say that we must have works to go to heaven. That sermon destroys that false doctrine.
- How? We simply study the Scriptures. We work hard for God. We don’t stop.
- No matter where we are, we continue preaching the word of God. We spread His truth.
And this is the job of a virtuous woman too. She teaches her children at home. She makes sure they are saved.
- She’s a keeper of the home. She continues outside of the home. She preaches the truth to others.
- She spreads the word of God. She has strength inside of her and outside of her.
- I want to raise my daughters to be virtuous women.
- I want them to love God with all their heart, soul, and mind. That’s what God wants for them.
And then He will take care of them the rest of their lives. They will have trouble. We all have trouble.
- The ungodly have trouble and the Godly have trouble in this world.
- But they will overcome the world in the end by their faith in God. Don’t forget that.
[18] Proverbs 31:19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
- She’s working on clothing for her family. She makes sure her children are clothed.
- A spindle and distaff is related to making clothes and garments.
[19] Exodus 35:25 And all the women that were wise hearted did spin with their hands, and brought that which they had spun, both of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine linen.
- These are wise women. “And all the women that were wise hearted did spin with their hands.”
- The virtuous woman makes sure her family is covered by the blood of the Lamb.
- She extends this to others and not just her family.
[20] Proverbs 31:20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
- She understands the difference in spiritual things and physical things.
- Physical needs are important, but she understands the spiritual is far more important.
- When she stretches out her hand to the poor, she is giving them the spiritual things first.
- Then she gives them physical things. She understands everlasting life is far more important.
- Do you really think this chapter is only talking about physical things?
We have many women in this area who setup pantry boxes and clothing closets to help the poor.
- But, they don’t understand that the Gospel is far more important. Clothing and food is important.
- But where is the Gospel? Many don’t know or understand the Gospel. Not a virtuous woman.
- A virtuous woman must first be a saved woman who dispenses the Gospel to others.
- These are the spiritually poor and the spiritually needy. This is far more important.
- But we also don’t forget about the physical needs either.
[21] Proverbs 31:21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
- She is not afraid of anything for her household. She knows they will all be okay.
- She makes sure they are clothed with scarlet and the blood of Jesus Christ.
- She knows their sins have been forgiven because she ensures her children believe on Jesus Christ.
- Physically and spiritually, she ensures they have the right clothing. She is not afraid. She is strong.
[22] Proverbs 31:22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
- Listen, when a man and a woman works hard all day long and into the night, what do you think happens?
- When this man and woman love God and work for Him, they will not be poor. They work together.
- They don’t give up on working hard. They continue. Her clothing is silk and purple. It’s good stuff.
- She doesn’t make cheap things that fall apart easily. She makes the good stuff.
- She has these good materials available to her because her husband works hard for these things.
[23] Exodus 39:27 And they made coats of fine linen of woven work for Aaron, and for his sons,
- Coats of fine linen of woven work. God doesn’t make trash. Understand that in every way.
- When we do something, we do it the best we can to the glory of our Father in heaven.
- When we preach the Gospel, we don’t just hand out tracts. We give it all we have.
- We clearly lay out the Gospel for someone. We aren’t just inviting them to church.
- The important part is the Gospel or the GOOD NEWS. We do things for God with all that we have.
[24] Colossians 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
- Women, daughters, wives: Give it all you’ve got for the Lord. Maybe you’re mad at your husband one day.
- Get over it and give it everything you have AS TO THE LORD and NOT UNTO MEN.
- Do it HEARTILY. Put your HEART into it. Do the best work you can possibly do.
- For children, when you’re doing school, give it all you’ve got. Put your HEART into it.
[25] Proverbs 31:23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
- Her husband is a Godly man who loves the Lord. He is known for this. He sits among the elders.
- He leads people to the Lord and teaches them the things of God.
- A virtuous woman MUST have a virtuous man who leads her. So make you choose the right husband.
He doesn’t have to be perfect, but he does have to be a saved man who loves the Lord.
- And whoever you choose to marry, you better make sure they are saved.
- If you choose other things, such as looks or money, you will be very sorry as you live out your life.
- You can listen to this or not. A good woman needs a man that loves God and vice versa.
- Then you are equally yoked together in the Lord and serving the Lord will be much easier to do.
[26] Proverbs 31:24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
- She has her own business at home. She makes FINE LINEN. She sells things to help the family.
- The Bible doesn’t say that she can’t work and make money. She is selling things.
- You should have a plan to do this. She delivers girdles or bands or belts to the merchant.
- Hey, look, she is producing things. If you aren’t working hard, you won’t be happy.
- If you don’t have anything to work towards, you will not be happy. This is a happy woman.
[27] Proverbs 31:25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
- She is strong. She has honor. She wears them each day. People will listen to her because of this.
- If you’re constantly doing evil and wicked things, people probably won’t listen to you.
- If you’re known as a drug dealer, you’re very corrupt. I don’t want advice from a drug dealer.
- I don’t want to hear how you think someone goes to heaven when you sell drugs to children.
- Instead, do things the right way. Have honor. Have strength to not do evil and wicked things.
Have the strength and honor to open your mouth when it is needed. Stand up. Preach the Gospel.
- I believed therefore I spoke. You will rejoice in time to come.
- Just think when you finally make it to heaven and all your family and friends are there.
- What a day that will be. And you will rejoice because none were lost. Why?
Because you had the strength and the honor to open your mouth no matter if they wanted to hear it or not.
- Your neighbors are there. Your co-workers are there. Courage and strength did those things.
- Only the fear of God is found within you. You do not fear to give the Gospel. Honor God.
[28] Proverbs 31:26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
- Her mouth isn’t opened in foolishness but in wisdom. She doesn’t gossip. She doesn’t spread lies.
- She keeps her mouth closed in church because God commanded her to do so.
- She opens her mouth outside of the preaching service to give the Gospel. This is wise.
- Her tongue is the law of kindness. She truly cares for other people. She is kind to them.
Now, so-called “Christians” and especially women will run with this.
- This is why God chose men to preach in church. But outside of church, foolish women will teach kindness.
- But they have no idea what kindness actually means. They think kindness is not judging anything.
- They think kindness means to accept everything someone is doing. They are deceived with foolishness.
- This is not kindness. You can say things with kindness, but we don’t agree with everything.
- In this world, we will not agree with most everything. For example, it’s not okay to fornicate.
Maybe a virtuous woman is speaking with a neighbor who lives with her boyfriend.
- The neighbor tells her that she lives with her boyfriend because they want to make sure they are right for each other before they get married.
- “I’ve been living with him for 14 years now. We’re still checking to see if we work together.”
- “We might get married one day. We’re still not sure.” Hey, this happens everywhere now.
- People act as if it’s okay.
A virtuous woman would lead right into the Gospel and never agree that fornication is okay.
- She could fit 1 Corinthians Chapter 6 into the conversation while giving the Gospel.
- A virtuous woman knows the Scriptures. She is familiar with teaching from the Bible.
[29] 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
- This is very scary for fornicators or any of the people on this list.
- She is kind in an attempt to win this woman to Christ. If the woman doesn’t get it.
- She finds her another day and continues to preach the truth to this woman in conversation.
- She opens her mouth with wisdom, and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
[30] Proverbs 31:27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
- She is always looking after the ways of her household. What are their ways?
- Are they going the wrong way? “Hey, I need to fix this and get them back to the right ways.”
- How can a virtuous woman do a job all day long outside of the home, send her children away to school, and watch the ways of her household?
- She can’t. God commands women to be keepers at home. Watch your children. Know what they do.
- If you send them to public school, you break the commandments of God.
If you’ve done that in the past, that’s in the past. Now we do things the right way. We move on from that.
- Let’s get things right at this time. I’ve messed up in many things in the past. Now I try to get them right.
- “Hey, I messed up. God, I am sorry for messing up. Please help me get it right now.”
- He’s not going to stay angry with you. He’s going to help you as good father would help his children.
- Now, if you continue because you think you know better than God, you will find sorrow.
- A virtuous woman doesn’t meddle in the matters of other people.
For example, many neighbors are just nosy people.
- Many of them are women who sit inside and have nothing else to do.
- So they watch you all day long and take note of everything you do.
- If they had a job to do, they wouldn’t be watching everything you do.
[31] 1 Timothy 5:13 And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.
- Stay out of other men’s business. It is none of your business. Get your own business.
- Tattlers, busybodies, and foolishness coming out of their mouth. You don’t want to be this woman.
- The virtuous woman stays busy and is not idle. For example, my wife always has something to do.
- When you follow God’s laws for a woman, what do you get? Let’s see.
[32] Proverbs 31:28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
- A virtuous woman is not a perfect woman. Sometimes we all mess up. You can’t be perfect.
- You mess up. Ask forgiveness. Move on. Don’t do it again. Learn from these things.
- Our children know that we mess up. They know that they mess up too.
- We don’t hold things against each other. We try to fix things with God’s help.
Our children see this. They see that we try to do things right. They will arise up and call her blessed.
- Her husband also will praise her. She’s trying with everything that she has within her.
- She gives it all she has each day. She sets a good example for her children.
- She works hard for her husband to make sure he has what he needs each day.
Her husband sees this work and recognizes her for this work by praising her.
- Hey, thank you for what you do each day. Thank you for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and 10 snacks.
- Just kidding. 5 snacks. But, thank you for everything you do for all of us.
- This is the praise a virtuous woman gets from her children and husband.
[33] Proverbs 31:29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
- You, as a woman, might not do all of these things. But, you should strive to be this woman.
- You want to be the best you can be in the eyes of God. This is what He wants. He tells you directly.
[34] Proverbs 31:30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
- Do you really fear the Lord? Favor is deceitful. Beauty is vain. Remember these things.
- Favor and beauty are not important. Fearing the Lord, though, is important. SHE SHALL BE PRAISED.
- A virtuous woman is wise and fearing the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
- You can know that a virtuous woman fears the Lord.
[35] Proverbs 31:31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
- That is the last verse in the Book of Proverbs. You will be rewarded for the work you do with your hands.
- “Let HER OWN WORKS praise her in the gates.” God rewards us for the good works we do.
- This is not salvation. We already have been saved. But now? We should do good works.
- If you do what God asks, you will have eternal rewards waiting for you in heaven.
- A virtuous woman will have a whole stack of rewards waiting there. BE THAT WOMAN.
- And no, I am not talking to men. I am talking to women only. BE A VIRTUOUS WOMAN.
