[2] The title of the sermon: “PROVERBS CHAPTER 16.”
The Book of Proverbs Has 31 Chapters
- The Book of Proverbs has a total of 31 chapters. We are going past halfway through Proverbs.
- Let’s go ahead and start there in verse 1 of Proverbs Chapter 16.
[3] Proverbs 16:1 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.
- We wouldn’t have a clue how to do anything without the Lord giving us these abilities.
- He gave us the ability to make our own choices. The preparations of the heart in man is from the Lord.
- We are able to prepare our heart, make our own choices, speak, and do.
For example, Joe Biden could change his mind about his evil ways and start making better choices.
- He could turn to God. He could follow God’s ways and actually be a good leader of this country.
- God gave him that ability to choose. God gave us all the ability to answer with our tongues.
- Everything that we’re able to do came from the Lord.
- For example, when our newest baby Abigail cries, the Lord put this into her.
- She wouldn’t be able to cry unless God gave her that ability.
- We would be absolutely nothing without God.
God gives us our abilities. He can take them away any time He wants.
- For example, you are hearing me right now. If God doesn’t want you to hear any more, you won’t.
- He can take away your sense of hearing any time He wants. He can take away our eye sight any time.
- He can take away all of these things that we take for granted each and every day.
- He can take your ability to taste away from you. You can only do all of these things because of God.
[4] Exodus 4:10-12 And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. 11 And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD? 12 Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.
- Listen to this. Who hath made man’s mouth? God did. Who maketh the dumb or deaf? God did.
- Who made you to see? God did. Who can make you blind? God can. “HAVE NOT I THE LORD.”
- If you would rely on God, He will be with you. He will teach you. He will guide you.
[5] Proverbs 19:21 There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.
- We come up with evil things to do all the time. They come from our heart.
- We get to make our own choices. What will we do today? Will we do good? Or will we do evil?
- We will fall if we choose evil. “Nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand.”
- Take God’s counsel and His direction. His counsel will always be the counsel left standing tall.
- When you do what He says, you will stand.
- If you want to do the evil that you imagined in your heart, you will fall.
[6] Proverbs 20:24 Man’s goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?
- I want to be clear that we don’t have a prayer without God. All of our goings are of the Lord.
- How did you get here? How were you born? You know nothing about it. NOTHING.
- Who took care of you while you were growing in your mother’s womb? God did.
- Who developed your eyes, ears, heart, liver, intestines, fingers, feet? God did.
- God got you here. You better thank God. He’s the only reason any of us are here right now.
- He’s the one who gave us this amazing life. We need to realize these things.
- GOD GAVE US EVERYTHING. Now, let’s give God our life back and let’s follow Him in everything we do.
[7] Proverbs 16:2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.
- We, as men and women, think that our ways are clean. We like to make up our own rules.
- Sometimes we like to think that our ways are the best ways. We like to think about ourselves.
- We don’t think about God all the time. We don’t look to His ways. We like ours the best.
- We MUST stop thinking and acting this way as much as possible.
“But the Lord weigheth the spirits.” God knows you. He knows what you’re planning.
- He’s watching you always. He knows if you’re trying to cheat someone.
- He knows if you treat one person differently than another and why you’re doing that.
- He knows when you’re lying. He knows when you’re trying to start trouble.
- And He knows when you’re trying to follow Him and do your absolute best.
- He’s watching and weighing your thoughts and your actions. He is “THE” judge of everything.
[8] Proverbs 21:2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.
[9] Proverbs 30:12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.
[10] Jeremiah 2:22 For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord GOD.
- We love to think that we’re good. We love to think that we’re clean. BUT WE AREN’T.
- There’s none good but God. He knows the right ways. We don’t.
- For example, this world thinks the right way is to approve of homosexuals, transgenders, and queers.
- God says, “NO, I DO NOT APPROVE!!!” But this world thinks they know better than God.
- And that’s just one example. So-called “Christian” churches believe the right way is to help everyone.
- They say, “We love everyone no matter what.” So they want to help everyone including evil people.
[11] 2 Chronicles 19:2 And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the LORD.
- Do you see the way of the Lord right there or not? Are your ways better than the Lord’s ways?
- Oh “great Christian,” do you know better than God? Are your ways better than God’s ways?
- Answer the question you LGBTQ loving devils out there. What’s it going to be? Are you better than God?
[12] Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
[13] Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
[14] Jude 7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
- Was God wrong to take out His vengeance on the sodomites or the homosexuals?
- The homo loving churches believe they know better than God. They think their ways are clean.
- They think God’s ways are wrong. They are devils and God is perfectly righteous.
- God hates evil and homosexuals are evil. That’s why God sent them into eternal fire.
- Is that now what Jude 7 says right there? IT IS. Don’t try to change it. They went after strange flesh.
- That’s men with men and women with women. That’s strange, queer, and sick.
Do We Know Better Than God? Did God Make Bad Decisions?
We don’t know better than God. Not even close. You either believe God’s ways are right or you don’t.
- And if you don’t, you’re going to have a huge problem soon. Do you think you’re God? You aren’t.
- GOD IS GOD. YOU AREN’T GOD. Why is that? Because all of your ways aren’t right.
- Another thing that seems right to us is thinking we should always take the easy way out in life.
- We’ll just cheat someone and they’ll never know. It’s going to be easier.
- We always want to take the easy way out. GOD DIDN’T. Jesus fought for you. Jesus works hard for you.
We’re not taking the easy way out here. We’re going to stand up for God and work for Him.
- If you don’t want to do that, there’s a lot of easy churches around here. You can go to one of those.
- There are all types of fun centers around here where you don’t have to listen to sermons like this.
- Southeast Christian Church is a great false church to go to. Have at it.
- They have fitness centers, free child care, basketball courts, coffee shops, book stores, and an amazing pastor with great hair.
They’ll even take your bank account information from you so you don’t have to worry about writing checks.
- Go join all the others who could care less about God. They love taking the easy way out.
- They’ll stand with the sodomites and won’t stand for God. They will sell you their books.
- The Bible is too difficult to understand so they will explain it all for you without using one Scripture.
- They don’t want anyone to talk bad about them. They’ll give you free money if you ask.
They’ll help get you out of DUI’s. They’ll feed you when you won’t work.
- They’ll do everything God never says to do. They’ll make life “easier” for you.
- They’ll give you a t-shirt that says “BLESSED” on it because their false god is going to bless you now.
- When you work for the right God, life won’t get easier for you. You can run and hide if you want.
- You can make things easier by not standing up for God and working for Him. It’s much easier that way.
[15] Proverbs 16:3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
- Is this what you’ll do or not? When you work, who are you working for?
- When I do my job, I give it the best I’ve got. Are you doing that or not?
- Or, are you doing everything halfway and just enough to get by with things?
[16] Colossians 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
- We are to commit our works unto the Lord. When we do so, our thoughts will be established.
- My thoughts are established because I work hard for the Lord. When I work, I work for God.
- When I say I hate homosexuals, that’s what I mean. My thoughts are correct and right.
- I reject sodomites in every way possible. I don’t do bad to them. I don’t want to be around them.
STAY AWAY FROM ME. I will stand up for God and say what’s needed.
- Will the world hate me? Yes. But guess what? I DON’T CARE. Do you hate me for saying that?
- If you do, you’ve got a big problem and that big problem is God Almighty.
- There’s no problem bigger than God when you go against His words.
[17] Psalm 139:21-24 Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? 22 I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies. 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
- LGBTQ blah, blah, blah HATE GOD. I will hate them. “Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee?”
- I hate them with perfect hatred. In other words, I reject them in every way possible.
[18] Psalm 15:4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
- God hates the vile and nasty person. In other words, He hates homosexuals.
- That’s why He sent them into everlasting fire.
[19] Psalm 101:3-4 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me. 4 A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.
- Am I wrong to hate and reject sodomites? Is God wrong to hate and reject sodomites?
- Are you so great that you’re going to tell God that He’s wrong? Answer me. Are you?
[20] Leviticus 20:22-23 Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out. 23 And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.
- God says, “THEREFORE I ABHORRED THEM.” Abhorred is greatly hated. God greatly hated them.
- But will say, “God doesn’t hate anyone?” Will you?
[21] Psalm 31:6 I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the LORD.
- If you want to be a liar, I will hate you. God will too. Don’t be a liar. Speak the truth.
[22] Hosea 9:15 All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters.
- God says, “I hated them. I will love them no more.” Now, does God hate? Are you better than Him?
- Will you say, “I don’t hate anyone. I love everyone.” Really??? God hates evil and wickedness.
- But you don’t because you’re better than the RIGHTEOUS GOD who never does anything wrong?
- Do you see how we think our ways are better than the Lord’s ways? God’s hate is righteous hate.
- He hates evil and wicked people. You can’t love others and love evil and wicked people.
- You can’t love rapists and love women at the same time. If you support rapists, you hate women.
Now, listen. If you hate a person because of the color of their skin, God will hate you.
- They can’t help the color of their skin. But queers can help what they do with the organs God gave them.
- Transgenders can help from getting a surgery and taking medicine. DUH. “But it’s not my fault.”
- Everyone loves to say, “It’s not my fault.” WRONG. It is your fault. You made the decision.
- This is what Proverbs Chapter 16 is teaching us.
Am I Wrong About Homosexuals? Am I Wrong To Reject Homosexuals?
If you think I’m wrong for hating homosexuals, then you are wrong. I don’t care what you think.
- If you think I’m wrong about that, then I don’t care about what you think about ANYTHING.
- Because, most likely, you’re wrong on just about everything. You would be foolish.
- I don’t take advice from fools. I take my guidance from God and could care less what you think about that.
[23] Proverbs 16:4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
- God has reserved the wicked for the day of evil. He’s bringing His vengeance on queers.
- He’s bringing His vengeance on liars. He’s bringing His vengeance on murderers, rapists, serial killers.
- He’s really bringing His vengeance on pedophiles and child molesters. He’s coming for you pedophiles.
- He’s going to rip you into pieces and throw you into everlasting fire and torment.
[24] Job 21:30 That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.
]
[252 Peter 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
- We are all His creation and the evil and wicked have turned away from God and made their own choices.
- And God will repay evil with evil. The day of evil is coming. You can run, but it won’t be fast enough.
[26] Proverbs 16:5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
- Make sure you see this. It’s not okay to be proud in heart. Do you hear that gays and homos?
- Your pride month is an abomination to the Lord God Almighty. You are an abomination to the Lord.
- You can join your hands together men with men. The false churches can join hands with the queers.
- YOU WILL NOT GO UNPUNISHED. Do you understand that? We are not to be proud people.
- “Well, I’m so proud of this and so proud of that.” Really? You better change your thoughts.
- Listen closely to these Scriptures.
[27] Proverbs 6:16-17 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
- God hates a proud look. He hates pride.
[28] Proverbs 8:13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
- God clearly says that PRIDE is evil. Arrogancy is evil.
- If you love pride, you’re evil and you don’t fear the Lord.
- You can draw your hearts on your pride month posters all you want. You don’t love anyone.
- You hate everyone by supporting resistance to God, His commands, and His ways.
- And NO, it’s not okay to support pride month and all the homo’s.
[29] Job 40:12 Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
[30] James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
- God clearly says that He hates pride but all the so-called “Christian” churches support the proud.
- Not here. We will not support the prideful, wicked, and evil sodomites. They can go to hell.
- And that is what God says too. If you don’t think so, maybe you should make up your own Bible then.
- Stop reading Kyle Idleman’s books and start reading God’s words.
- “Oh, I’m Kyle Idleman and I am so nice. There’s no one nicer than me. I’m nicer than God.”
- “I love everyone. I love their money especially. I love myself and my books.”
- Let me be very. Kyle Idleman and his false gospel is our enemy. And anyone like him is our enemy.
Why don’t you just go ahead and tell God how much you hate Him and His words?
- GOD IS EVERYWHERE AND YOU CAN’T HIDE FROM HIM.
- He made the galaxies. He made the sun, moon, stars, and everything you see. God will humble you.
- You better allow Him to humble you now before it’s too late.
- Submit to His words and stop acting like you know better than God. Stop falling for lies.
[31] Proverbs 11:21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
- No matter how much the world hates me for my stand against homosexuals, I will be delivered by God.
- No matter how much they want to kill me, God will deliver me. He will save me because I take His side.
- The wicked will not go unpunished. The people who hate Jesus Christ will not go unpunished.
- They can join hands as much as they want. God will break all their hands.
[32] Proverbs 16:6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.
- Do you know how I stopped supporting queers? I actually fear God now and His words.
- I don’t fear men and women in this world. I could care less what the liberals think.
- I could care less what the so-called “Republicans” think. I don’t care what the President thinks.
- I care what God thinks. And I will die for Jesus Christ. I will tell you the truth. Take it or leave it.
“BY MERCY AND TRUTH INIQUITY IS PURGED.” Jesus Christ is mercy and truth.
- We only depart from evil through the fear of the Lord. If you love Kyle Idleman, you don’t fear the Lord.
- If you think you must be baptized in water to be saved, you don’t fear the Lord.
- You would rather listen to some man-made false gospel than the words of God Almighty.
- That’s just stupid. Why would anyone listen to some false preacher over Jesus Christ? WHY?
- They act as if they are Christians, but they would rather read Kyle Idleman’s book versus the Bible?
A Book Written By A Man Or Woman Is Not A Bible Study
“Hey, let’s do a Bible study. But bring Kyle Idleman’s book and not your Bible.”
- “But I thought you said Bible study. Kyle Idleman’s book is not the Bible.”
- “Yeah it is. Just bring his book and we’ll learn more from Kyle Idleman than Jesus Christ.”
- That’s exactly what idiots out there are doing right now. I am 100% serious. WAKE UP FOOLS.
- Let me tell you the truth right now. Kyle Idleman is an idiot and a false preacher.
- Do you not like to hear that? I don’t care. The Bible does the same thing. God calls out false preachers.
[33] 2 Timothy 2:16-18 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. 17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; 18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
- Kyle Idleman is a canker. He’s like a small eroding ulcer in your mouth.
- He increases unto more ungodliness. Concerning the truth, he has erred.
- Saying that water baptism is required for salvation. He is profane and babbles about vain things.
If you don’t believe me, try listening to him. I can’t listen to the fool for more than about 3 seconds.
- See if you can beat my record of 3 seconds. I start getting vomit in my mouth at 3 seconds.
- “Do you have anxiety? I, Kyle Idleman, can help you.”
- “But first, buy my book and give me your bank account. And then your anxiety will go away.”
- “Plus, you can focus on my hair and all your anxiety will vanish because of my greatness.”
- And yes, I will mock Kyle Idleman until he changes his mind about Jesus Christ.
- Once he stops preaching a works based salvation, I won’t mock him anymore.
[34] Proverbs 16:7 When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
- Kyle Idleman is not my enemy. He is God’s enemy with his false gospel. He is a devil.
- His false teaching will never be at peace with the Lord. When we follow God’s ways, we please Him.
- God will make even our enemies to be at peace with us. You can see the examples throughout the Bible.
[35] Jeremiah 15:11 The LORD said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily I will cause the enemy to entreat thee well in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.
- Think of Daniel. He was carried away into Babylon and still did very well.
- Daniel did what God asked him to do and God caused his enemies to entreat him well.
[36] Proverbs 16:8 Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.
- I would much rather have little with righteousness than great revenues without right.
- I would rather have a few people here who love God and Jesus Christ versus a huge church with people who could care less about God.
- I would rather stand up here alone than compromise and have a huge church.
[37] Psalm 37:16 A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
[38] 1 Timothy 6:6-8 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
- We will do right, and we will not compromise to make money, have more people, or anything else.
- We have food and clothing. We are content and happy. Notice it doesn’t say a place to live.
- Food and clothing and we are content or satisfied or pleased. We do not complain.
[39] Proverbs 21:6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.
- Many people get their money and treasures in this world by doing wrong.
- We would rather do right to all people and have very little than do wrong and have treasures.
[40] Proverbs 16:9 A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
- We went over this earlier in Proverbs Chapter 16. God allows you to make your own choices.
- He directs your steps and gives you the ability to know between right and wrong.
- Without God, we wouldn’t know how to do anything at all. The Lord directs us.
- Without His direction, we wouldn’t even be able to get out of bed in the morning.
[41] Proverbs 16:10 A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresseth not in judgment.
- We’ll see here in a couple more verses that true kings love to do right.
- Jesus Christ is the true King and His judgements are right.
- For example, when Jesus rained fire and brimstone on Sodom and Gomorrah, He was right.
- When Jesus Christ casts people into hell, He is right. You need to understand this.
When Jesus told the children of Israel to destroy the inhabitants of the land who worshipped false gods including the men, the women, and all the children, HE WAS RIGHT.
- He knew what would become of them. Take a look in our country. The evil is winning.
- People are molesting children right now. People are fornicating everywhere right now.
- People are killing each other right now. People are kidnapping young girls right now.
- Another young man has been convinced to become a homosexual right now.
- Jesus Christ was right when He made the law that homosexuals should be put to death.
- What they are doing is not right. They are hurting each other. They are hurting others.
- A true King such as Jesus Christ is righteous and judges rightly. His judgement is perfect.
[42] Proverbs 16:11 A just weight and balance are the LORD’S: all the weights of the bag are his work.
- God is just in all things. He measures fairly and balances perfectly.
- For example, He doesn’t treat one person differently than others.
- If you have a tougher life for things that were not your fault, God will make it all right.
- “All the weights of the bag are his work.” God is the one that made just weights and balances.
- For example, don’t treat someone different because you think they have more money than someone else.
- Don’t try to cheat someone. If you do something for two different people, treat them the same.
- Use just weights and balances just as the Lord does. This is very important to God.
[43] Proverbs 11:1 A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.
[44] Proverbs 20:10 Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD.
[45] Proverbs 20:23 Divers weights are an abomination unto the LORD; and a false balance is not good.
[46] Leviticus 19:35 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure.
[47] Hosea 12:7 He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loveth to oppress.
[48] Micah 6:11 Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights?
- For example, don’t try to cheat people out of things.
- When they pay for something, give them what they paid for.
- And actually, why don’t you try going above and beyond what they paid for.
- Be fair, right, and just to all people. Don’t cheat people. Don’t lie to people. Do right to people.
- Do you know why? Because God is watching you. And He told you to be good and fair to others.
- If you can’t be good and fair to all people, you and God will be against each other. And He wins.
[49] Proverbs 16:12 It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.
- Did you know God has plans for you to sit on a throne? If you didn’t know that, read your Bible.
- We are not to commit wickedness or support wickedness in any way. God’s law is perfect and good.
- God’s throne is the highest throne of all. We can’t even imagine His greatness.
- His throne is established by righteousness. Jesus Christ is our righteousness.
Our Righteousness Only Comes Through The Righteousness of Jesus Christ
We are only righteous through Jesus Christ. It is abomination to kings to commit wickedness.
- The president’s of this country command these executive orders as they are kings.
- They aren’t kings and they definitely aren’t righteous kings. They commit wickedness.
- Supporting wickedness is wickedness. Supporting the COVID-19 vaccine is wickedness.
- Taking the vaccine is supporting abortion. That’s the truth. Do you really think Jesus supports the vaccine?
- If you do, then I 100% know for sure that you don’t know the Jesus Christ within this Bible.
[50] Proverbs 16:13 Righteous lips are the delight of kings; and they love him that speaketh right.
- Jesus Christ is the KING of Kings. He loves those who speak right things. Remember that.
- Jesus sure doesn’t love someone who speaks lies about Him.
- He doesn’t love those who misrepresent Him.
- For example, the only thing it takes to be saved is Jesus Christ.
[51] Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
- Jesus tells us Himself over and over again that we must believe on Him to be saved.
- We must believe in Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world.
- If we believe He is the Son of God, then we know that He alone can save us.
- We don’t need anything else to be saved but Jesus Christ. No works of our own will save us.
- “For there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
[52] Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
[53] John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
[54] 1 Corinthians 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
- Jesus Christ is the only way to be saved. We must believe on Him to be saved.
- If anyone attempts to add anything to Jesus Christ, they simply don’t understand salvation.
- They aren’t saved. For example, repenting of all your sin isn’t a requirement for salvation.
- Do you know why? Because repenting of all your sin is impossible and it doesn’t equal Jesus Christ.
- Salvation is not of works and repenting of sin is a work.
[55] Proverbs 16:14-15 The wrath of a king is as messengers of death: but a wise man will pacify it. 15 In the light of the king’s countenance is life; and his favour is as a cloud of the latter rain.
- This country is headed for death. This country is headed for the wrath of God.
- Do you know how to get God to turn His wrath away from this country? TURN TO GOD.
- We should say, “God, we trust you. We fear you. We’ll do what you say.”
We shouldn’t act as if a dumb vaccine that isn’t even alive will save us all. God is the living God.
- Jesus Christ is the living God. He created life. He is the way, the truth, and the life.
- If you want more life, you go to Jesus Christ. Then we will pacify God’s wrath.
- Then we will have life. Then we will have God’s favor. Then God will pour out His latter rain.
- The latter rain is the rain that falls right before the harvest that revives the crops.
- We want God’s favor and we need Him to revive us each and every day.
[56] Proverbs 16:16 How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!
- Most who consider themselves to be “Christians” don’t want to sit here and listen to a sermon like this.
- But this sermon is filled with the word of God. This sermon is filled with wisdom.
- “How much better is it to get wisdom than gold!” EXCLAMATION MARK.
- It’s better to get understanding than silver. Silver and gold cannot compare to wisdom. Not even close.
[57] Proverbs 16:17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.
- Stay on God’s path. How do you do that? Read and study your Bible every single day.
- Depart from evil by following Jesus Christ. Understand what that means.
- Jesus Christ is walking you down the right path. You can follow Him or veer off the wrong way.
- When you go the wrong way, you aren’t directly behind Jesus Christ following Him any more.
- When you stay in line behind Jesus Christ, He keeps you safe from all sides. He is your protection.
- If you leave Him, don’t expect to be safe. “He that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.”
- When you follow Jesus Christ, He will be there for you because you stayed close to Him.
[58] Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
- If you want to have pride, what comes next? DESTRUCTION. Remember that one.
- A haughty spirit is a very proud spirit. If you think great of yourself, you will fall.
- Pride leads to destruction and a great fall. Don’t be prideful.
[59] Proverbs 16:19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
- We must be lowly and humble. We cannot be prideful people. It’s much better to be humble.
[60] Matthew 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
- We know that we are poor in spirit. We know that we are absolutely nothing without Jesus Christ.
- Why should we be lowly? Do you know who else is lowly and humble?
[61] Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
- Isn’t it awesome to know how great your King happens to be. He is absolutely amazing.
- “Rejoice GREATLY!!!” Why? “Behold, thy King cometh unto thee.” He has salvation.
- He is lowly. He is the greatest in existence and yet is lowly and humble. This makes Him amazing.
- That’s the King I want. I want a leader that isn’t prideful and arrogant.
- The world doesn’t have a clue what that’s like because a requirement for all leaders in this world is to be prideful and arrogant.
- If you don’t believe me, take a look. Jesus Christ is a breath of fresh air. He created the fresh air.
[62] Proverbs 16:20 He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.
- Let me tell you something. The more I trust in the Lord in my life, the absolute more He shows me.
- I don’t ask Him to show me what He can do because He knows I believe He can do anything.
- There is nothing too hard for the Lord. But I want to tell you something.
- Every time that I have great troubles and I simply trust in the Lord, HE SHOWS HIMSELF STRONG.
- If you would simply give all your troubles over to the Lord and keep on working for Him, He’ll show you.
- I want to give you an example from a recent event.
A Child Is A Great Blessing From God
We had our fourth daughter, Abigail Grace Tapp, here recently as all of you here right now know.
- Having a child will be one of the greatest days of your life. Seeing life come into the world is amazing.
- There’s nothing that will show you that God is God like having a baby.
- But, for some reason, the idiotic doctors like to attempt to make it all worse.
- She comes in the room and listens to Abigail’s heart. She goes, “Well, I hear a murmur.”
- “Some flap isn’t closing, but it could close in a day or two.”
- “We need to do more testing. She also has a hole in her heart.”
Guess what? She’ll be fine. I look this up and the majority of newborns have these things.
- And they know this too. I ask her, “Is this normal?” She responds, “Yeah, this is pretty normal.”
- They attempt to put fear into you, but do you know what? I trust in God.
- And God took care of Abigail there for 9 months, and I trust Him.
- When I trust God to take care of Abigail, I know that He’ll do it. So it doesn’t scare me at all.
- I don’t need an idiotic doctor trying to make more money through fear. Been there and done that.
- No more. “And whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he.”
- I want you to understand that you don’t have anything to fear in your life when you have God.
[63] Proverbs 16:21 The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.
- Prudent and wise means that you can know what’s coming. You are wise and intelligent when prudent.
- For example, we already know what’s going to happen in the end times because we trust Jesus.
- We trust His words. We know they are truth. And His words are sweet as honey.
- His words increase our learning and wisdom.
[64] Proverbs 16:22-24 Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly. 23 The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips. 24 Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
- Do you want to be wise, or do you want to be foolish? The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth.
- You need to learn wisdom and teach your mouth how to say the right things when needed.
- God’s word is absolutely pleasant to those who love Him. His words are sweet to the soul.
- His words re health to your bones. If you’re sick, do you know what you need? God’s words.
[65] Proverbs 4:20-22 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
- I want to make sure you know this. When you’re having a bad day, what do you do?
- You get the Bible out and read. If you want life, start reading. Start listening to the Bible.
- This will fix it for you. If you get off the path, use God’s words to get back on and catch back up to Jesus.
[66] Proverbs 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
- Remember, your ways might seem right to you but did you check them against God’s words.
- For example, God very clearly says that a woman’s job is to be a keeper at home.
- But the women in this world today will say, “No, I don’t like that. I’m working anyway.”
- God commands wives to stay at home with their children, take care of the home, and teach the children.
- If we go against that, what does Proverbs 16:25 say right there? Make sure you read it.
- “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
So, if you want an early death, then ignore God’s commands for wives to stay at home and teach their children.
- You don’t want, and I don’t want that for you either. I love you all, and I will tell you the truth.
- We must follow God’s words in every way even when we think our ways are better.
[67] Proverbs 29:15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.
- We cannot leave our children to learn on their own. Our entire country has forsaken the children.
- We send them off on their own into this world and into the public schools.
- There are some good teachers in the public schools because I know one of them well.
- But, the majority do not care about your children. A Godly mother will always care more for her children.
- As men, we need to make it easy on our wives to follow the commandments of God.
I Wanted My Wife Working So We Could Make More Money
For example, many years ago, I wanted my wife working.
- She was a Registered Nurse and could make good money. And I didn’t want to miss out on that money.
- Fast forward several years and God showed me the right way.
- I wouldn’t go back to the old way for ANYTHING. Our children are more important than money.
- You can test my children all you want. They have knowledge and wisdom.
- They know the Bible better than any other subject and that’s how it should be.
The Bible gives wisdom. We teach our children at home. The Bible is “THE” priority ALWAYS.
- I was wrong before. I thought my ways were better. I was clearly wrong.
- We must make our children a priority and not an afterthought. Everyone of them are very important.
- Every child that God gives us is a great blessing. We need to treat them that way.
- Don’t allow this world to influence you into the wrong ways. I did. NO MORE. Won’t happen again.
[68] Proverbs 16:26 He that laboureth laboureth for himself; for his mouth craveth it of him.
- When we work hard, who are we working hard for? Are we worried about ourselves?
- Are we working for ourselves? Most people in this world are very selfish. We can’t fall into that trap.
- “Well, I’m going to get mine and forget about everyone else.” No, think about others.
- When I work, I’m working for all of you. I’m working for my wife and children.
- If there’s one crumb of bread left and we’re starving, it’s not going to me.
[69] Ecclesiastes 6:7 All the labour of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled.
- Let’s work for others and not make everything about ourselves. We must be like God.
- He works hard for us every day, and we don’t even acknowledge Him at times.
- Thank you God for all the work you’ve done for us. Now let’s be like Him. Let’s not be selfish.
- We must think about others. Hey, what can we do for someone else today? It’s not about me.
[70] Proverbs 16:27-28 An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire. 28 A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.
- Ungodly men and women are always looking for evil. They like to start fights.
- They love to separate friends. They love to drive wedges between husband and wife.
- Watch out for these people. They are everywhere.
Why do people go out in the middle of the night to bars and clubs? They’re looking for evil.
- Did you know some people won’t leave their homes for a night out until midnight.
- It’s dark. People can’t see you as well. They hide in the darkness and do evil.
- No one goes out to a club at midnight to do God’s work. It’s not happening.
- Wives, it’s not okay to go out to bars at night. It’s not okay to go out with some other man.
- Men, same thing. It’s not okay to go out and eat with another woman who isn’t your wife.
- It’s actually sickening. Stop running your mouth with worldly wisdom and do the right thing.
- Ungodly men and women use their lips to cause trouble. I’ve seen it before.
[71] Psalm 52:2 Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp rasor, working deceitfully.
[72] Psalm 52:4 Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.
- We need to watch our mouth. No matter what situation we’re in, we need to watch our mouth.
- We need to speak truth from the Bible at all times.
- We need to bring conversations we have with others back around to God and His words.
- Let’s teach people what the Bible says. There’s a huge shortage of those people in the world today.
- God needs us to preach His words. If we won’t, whose going to do it. He gave you this job. Do it.
[73] Proverbs 16:29-30 A violent man enticeth his neighbour, and leadeth him into the way that is not good. 30 He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass.
- Look, we cannot entice people at all. We can’t join in with their evil ways. We don’t even get involved.
- We stay away. For example, when my neighbor invites me over for a drunken party, I don’t go.
- I don’t support his ways. I don’t lead him into more evil. I don’t entice my neighbor to do wrong.
- We go the right way. We stay away from evil. We don’t want to be anything like that.
Women, You Are Not The Savior Of Men
Do not get caught up in evil. Women and young girls: don’t think you are the savior of all men.
- Some women think they’re going to “FIX A MAN.”
- They’ll choose the worst man possible, and it’s their goal in life to “FIX HIM.”
- They think to themselves, “Is this man evil?” Yes. I will fix him. Are you sure about that?
- God doesn’t teach this. He tells you to stay away from evil. Understand that.
- You might end up with a man who beats you, chokes you, punches you, and hates you.
- You might end up with a man who could care less about you. So watch out. Be careful.
- Be a wise woman and choose wisely. Choose a Godly man who loves Jesus Christ.
[74] Proverbs 16:31 The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.
- What is a hoary head? Hold on. I want to make sure you all hear this.
- I especially want to make sure my children hear this. H-O-A-R-Y, hoary, means white or gray with age.
- Children, what color is my hair? Gray. “The hoary head is a crown of glory.”
- This gray hair is a crown of glory, God says, “IF” it be found in the way of righteousness.
- If my hair is gray and I continue to follow Jesus Christ, this gray hair shows wisdom and knowledge.
- Did you know this gray hair has helped me to get raises at work?
- They think I’m old and feel bad that I’m not making very much money. So they give me a raise.
[75] Proverbs 16:32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
- We are to be slow to anger. If we can do that, we are better than the mighty.
- If we are able to rule our spirit, we are mightier than one who takes an entire city.
- Did you hear that? Make sure you do. I lose it sometimes. This isn’t good. Let’s rule our spirit.
- Let’s be slow to anger. Let’s be mighty. We get tested with this every single day.
- Let’s pass the test. Let’s learn how to be better. Let’s live by the word of God.
- Let’s move to the last verse of Proverbs Chapter 16.
[76] Proverbs 16:33 The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD.
- Casting lots was a method used to make choices. They would do this to allow the Lord to choose.
- There’s a lot of casting lots throughout the Bible. “But the whole disposing thereof is of the Lord.”
- God makes the decision or the disposition. He sets things in order. He decides. Here’s an example.
[77] Jonah 1:7 And they said every one to his fellow, Come, and let us cast lots, that we may know for whose cause this evil is upon us. So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon Jonah.
- Jonah ended up in the sea. And you know the rest of the story.
- Lots were cast to see who was causing the storm on the ship.
- God showed them it was Jonah through the casting of lots.
- And that ends Proverbs Chapter 16.
Let’s pray.
