[2] The title of the sermon: “HEBREWS CHAPTER 1.”
- The Book of Hebrews is an amazing book. We’re going verse by verse through this book.
- We’ll start there in verse 1 of Hebrews Chapter 1.
[3] Hebrews 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
- God, who at sundry times. This is the only time the word sundry is in the entire Bible.
- Sundry means various kinds. At different or various times and in divers manners or different manners.
- God spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets. And God did so in many different ways.
[4] Numbers 12:6-8 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. 7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. 8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
- If you think of others such as Joshua, Samson’s parents, or Daniel, you’ll see how God did this all in different manners.
- Remember Samuel and how he thought it was Eli talking with him. But God was calling Samuel.
- You can think of Gideon and how God communicated with him. Sundry times and divers manners.
And now how does God speak with us? We have this entire Bible right here that is the word of God.
- He speaks with us through His writing and through preaching and teaching of His words.
- This is why church is so important. He communicates with us through His words, and we learn them here.
- If we want to know God, we go to His words. We go line upon line and precept upon precept.
- We learn a little here and a little there. He gives us this a little at a time so we can understand.
And Jesus is the Word of God. Some people don’t understand that all these written words come through Jesus.
- God wrote all of the Old Testament and all of the New Testament. Jesus wrote all of these words.
- The Holy Spirit wrote all of these words. God the Father wrote all of these words.
- God speaks to us through Jesus Christ. Let’s keep going in verse 2.
[5] Hebrews 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
- We are in the last days. The Book of Hebrews is the 58th book of the Bible out of 66 total books.
- Jesus Christ has already came the first time, but He hasn’t came the second time.
- This is why we live in the last days. We wait for the second coming of Jesus Christ.
- We are only saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. He is the Son of God. He is not the Father.
- God has spoken unto us BY HIS SON. And His Son is the appointed heir of all things.
And we already know that all things were created by Jesus and through Jesus. We know Jesus is the Son of God.
- We know that Jesus is God because His Father is God. This makes Jesus equal with His Father.
- Jesus came forth from God. The Holy Spirit comes forth from God. He is God.
- “By whom also He made the worlds.” We know all things were made through Jesus Christ.
- And you can see the greatness of God and Jesus Christ by simply looking at His creation.
Man can make nothing that compares with God’s creation.
- A single ant is a greater creation than anything man has ever made. A bee is greater. See the difference.
- Man creates things that are dead. Construction of buildings that are dead. Tall buildings. Dead.
- Food dead. Computers dead. All the things we create come through the intelligence God put into us.
- We only create things through materials that God gave to us.
- We couldn’t create anything without the things that God gave to us. And we create dead things.
- Jesus creates life out of nothing. God speaks and things are created.
[6] Proverbs 8:23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
- Jesus Christ is the everlasting God, but He is not the Father or the Holy Spirit.
- “All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.”
- All things that you see and don’t see were made by Jesus Christ. The sun was made by Jesus Christ.
[7] Hebrews 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
- Jesus Christ is the brightness of the glory of God. He is the express image of His person.
- This speaks of God the Father as a person. This speaks of Jesus Christ as a person.
- Obviously, we see two different persons in these Scriptures.
- Oneness heretics will say that Jesus is not a different person than His Father.
- How many men do you see in this Scripture? You see God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. TWO MEN.
- I want to show you this, and then we’ll come back to verse 3 here in Hebrews Chapter 1.
[8] John 8:16-18 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me. 17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. 18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.
- This is Jesus speaking in John Chapter 8. He says, “The testimony of TWO MEN is true.”
- Jesus speaks of TWO MEN just as we see in Hebrews Chapter 1.
- Jesus says, “I am ONE that bear witness of MYSELF.” He’s talking about HIMSELF as ONE MAN.
- Then He says, “And the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.” There’s the SECOND MAN or witness.
- Two different men or two different persons. But the oneness heretics just keep on and on and on.
[9] Hebrews 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
- Jesus, the Son of God, upholds all things by the word of His power. He is the Word of God. This is power.
- How does the sun stay in the right place? It’s heavy. The sun stays there because Jesus said to stay there.
- Jesus made the sun stand still for Joshua because Jesus told it to stay.
- Just like you might tell your dog to stay. You have power over that dog through your words.
- Jesus has power over all of creation through His words. He tells the tornado to stop.
He tells the thunder to take it easy. I awoke on Tuesday early by the thunder. I thought it was an earthquake.
- I thought there were multiple earthquakes. If Jesus wanted to, His thunder could destroy us.
- But He takes it easy on us. One day, though, the unsaved will run out of time. His wrath is coming.
- And yes, Jesus Christ will bring His wrath against the unrighteous and wicked of this world.
- Jesus is harsh, but He’s also easy and peaceful. He is a man of war and a man of peace.
- He is a God of love and a God of hate. He can purge all of us of all of our sins. He can do it on His own.
He doesn’t need your help. He didn’t need your help to create the worlds.
- He didn’t need your help to give you the life that you’re living right now.
- Why would He need your help to save you? He just asks you to change your mind, and believe in Him.
- Believing in Him means that you believe that it’s only Jesus Christ who can save you, NOT OF WORKS.
- Salvation is not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, which comes through Jesus Christ ALONE.
- He has already purged me of sin. There is no sin counted to my soul nor ever will be.
I am already forgiven of all my sin, and I have everlasting life through Jesus Christ. Not through me in any way.
- I love this verse because, at the end, you see that Jesus did the job God gave Him to do.
- His job was to be the Savior of the world. He did all the work to become the Savior of the world.
- THE WHOLE WORLD CAN BE SAVED THROUGH JESUS CHRIST. He finished that work.
And what do you do when you’re finished working hard for the day? YOU SIT DOWN.
- And Jesus Christ SAT DOWN on the right hand of the Majesty on high.
- Again, this shows 100% for sure that Jesus is not God the Father. The Father did not die on the cross.
- Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on the cross. And He sat down on the right hand of His Father.
- And God the Father is THE MAJESTY ON HIGH. Jesus Himself, who is God, submits to His Father.
- So, we wouldn’t be saved right now if it were not the will of God the Father. THANK YOU FATHER.
- THANK YOU SON. THANK YOU HOLY SPIRIT. THANK YOU GOD. Three persons in one God.
And yes, as you can clearly see, Hebrews 1:3 teaches they are different persons.
- Jesus Christ looks just like His Father. He acts like His Father. He does what His Father tells Him to do.
- He is the EXPRESS IMAGE of HIS PERSON. If you’ve seen the Son, you’ve seen the Father.
- They look exactly alike but they are different persons.
[10] Hebrews 1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
- Some people who don’t understand that words have different definitions will attempt to say that this verse proves Jesus was created by God.
- But they don’t pay attention to anything. The entire Bible tells us that Jesus is God.
- He is the Alpha, the Omega, the beginning and the end, THE ALMIGHTY GOD OF ALL CREATION.
So, what does this verse mean when it says, “BEING MADE so much better than the angels.”
- Being made is being caused to be. For example, “I made my daughters go to homeschool.”
- God made Jesus Christ so much better than the angels. He doesn’t mean that He created Jesus.
- Jesus is eternal. If Jesus weren’t eternal, we couldn’t receive eternal life through Him.
- The angels aren’t the Son of God. NO CREATED ANGEL IS THE ACTUAL SON OF GOD.
- Created angels are powerful, but they struggle against the evil angels. They are equal.
- But Jesus Christ doesn’t struggle against anyone or anything. This proves He isn’t a created angel.
But Jesus is seen as the Angel of the Lord or the messenger of the Lord. Angels in the Bible are also messengers.
- Evangelist has the word angel within it. For example, I am bringing you the message of the Lord.
- People who bring God’s message, in the Bible, are called angels.
- But there is a difference in a created angel and Jesus Christ.
- For example, Seventh Day Adventists, will say that Michael the archangel is Jesus Christ.
- WRONG. Hebrews Chapter 1 disproves that false doctrine. Seventh Day Adventists are not Christian.
[11] Hebrews 1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
- God hasn’t called ANY OF THE ANGELS or living creatures or beasts HIS SON.
- He hasn’t said, “Thou art my Son,” to any of them. Not Michael or Gabriel or Abaddon.
- Satan or Lucifer is an angel or living beast or creature. He is a created angel.
- Satan is no match for Jesus Christ. Why is Jesus called the Son of God? That’s a capital S for Son of God.
God tells you why Jesus Christ is called the Son of God. “This day have I begotten thee.”
- And before that day actually happened, Jesus Christ was still the Son of God.
- He was the Son of God from the beginning, from everlasting to everlasting. He is the Son of God.
- God the Father is called His Father because He has begotten Jesus Christ.
- He became the only begotten Son of God the day that He was raised from the dead.
- Why is the resurrection of Jesus Christ so important? We have entire sermons about this.
Jesus is the only begotten Son of God because His body was buried, His soul went to hell, and God raised Him from the dead.
- THIS DAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN THEE. This is a quote from Psalm Chapter 2.
- Jesus has a new and glorified body that we will one day receive at the resurrection or rapture.
- Then we shall be like Jesus Christ. Our new body will be sinless and perfect. It will be incorruptible.
And it won’t be like this one. All the angels or beasts are spirits. They are not flesh and blood.
- They don’t get new and glorified bodies. We are called the sons of God, but we are not the SON OF GOD.
- Why are we called sons of God? Because Jesus has begotten us, and He will give us a new body.
- How do I know for sure that Jesus is called the Son of God because God raised Him from the dead?
[12] Acts 13:33-34 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. 34 And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.
- This proves that Jesus is the Son of God because God raised Him from the dead. Jesus was dead.
- In Revelation Chapter 1, Jesus Himself says: “I am He that liveth and was dead.”
- Now you know why Jesus is called the Son of God from everlasting to everlasting.
Another false doctrine is that fallen angels had sexual relationships with flesh and blood women.
- And then the Nephilim or giants were the result. What a stupid false doctrine.
- Angels are spirit and they can’t have a sexual relationship with women. NEVER HAPPENED. Lies.
- Jesus came in the flesh to save those of us who are in the flesh.
- So, I hope you now understand why Jesus is called the Son of God. He doesn’t have a heavenly mother.
- Mary was his earthly mother. Hebrews Chapter 7 tells us Jesus has no father or mother.
How can all these things be? He has no father but He has a Father. He has no mother but He has a mother.
- The Bible is filled with things like this. We must study more to understand these things.
- There are physical things in the Bible and then there are spiritual things.
- How can all of these things be? How can Jesus be God but then be begotten of God?
[13] Mark 12:35-37 And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David? 36 For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool. 37 David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly.
- Jesus was born of this flesh, died, and arose from the dead in His body. And His body was changed.
- He is the Son of David but He is David’s Lord. “And the common people heard Him gladly.”
- And that’s what we are. There’s nothing special about us.
- We’re just common people who believe what God says. And then God saved us and gave us wisdom.
[14] Hebrews 1:6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
- God brought His first begotten Son into the world. He said, “And let ALL the angels of God worship Him.”
- Notice ALL the angels of God worship Him. Again, Jesus is not a created angel. All the words matter.
- Jesus was there before anything was created including ALL THE ANGELS. This means He isn’t one of them.
- God tells us this in Hebrews Chapter 1 over and over again.
[15] Hebrews 1:7-8 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. 8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
- His angels are spirits. God made them spirits. They are not fleshly. They are spiritual. Not of this flesh.
- We don’t see spiritual things with our physical eyes unless God allows this to happen.
- We don’t see the spiritual world. The angles are spirits. Angels are also ministers and a flame of fire.
- A minister is a servant. Who do they serve? God. Jesus is God. He is the Son of God.
If you don’t believe Jesus to be God, would you believe what God the Father, the majesty on High, says?
- If you look closely at verse 8, God the Father is saying this to His Son.
- “But unto the Son He saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever.”
- There’s your witness. God the Father tells us directly that Jesus is God.
- “Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever.” And we know there’s one God.
So how can the Father and the Son be God when they are two different men? How can these things be?
- God said so, and we believe what He said. There are three persons in one God.
- “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost.”
- “And these three are one.” Three persons in one God. Jesus is God. The Father says so.
- He also says, “A sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.”
- This is a quote from Psalm Chapter 45.
[16] Psalm 45:6-7 Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre. 7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
- This Psalm speaks of Jesus Christ just as much of the Bible speaks of the Son of God.
- A sceptre is a rod or a staff that would serve as a symbol of authority.
- Jesus rules with a sceptre of righteousness. He will rule a kingdom and it will be the kingdom of God.
- Jesus does all the right things all the time. He is righteous. And if He’s righteous, what does verse 7 say?
This 100% for sure speaks of Jesus Christ. “Thou loves righteousness, and hatest wickedness.”
- Jesus Christ loves righteousness and hates wickedness. This is why there is a heaven and a hell.
- People of this world, fake Christians, will say: “Jesus only loves. Jesus doesn’t hate anything.”
- They don’t have the right Jesus. If this is you, it’s time to get the right Jesus Christ.
- Jesus loves, and Jesus hates. How can this be? There’s a heaven and a hell.
If you’re fake Jesus loves everyone all the time, why is there a hell?
- If Jesus were okay with sin, why is there a hell? Why does He rule His kingdom with a rod of iron?
- Why would He have a sceptre of righteousness if He loved wickedness? This sceptre will punish evil.
[17] Psalm 2:9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.
[18] Revelation 2:26-27 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: 27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
- We are to be the same way. Do you think you’ll be ruling with Jesus Christ is you’re okay with everything?
- Do you think Jesus will put you as a ruler when you’re okay with homosexuality?
- Are you okay with fornication? Are you okay with your family doing drugs and drinking alcohol?
- Are you okay with lies, lying, and liars? Do you love them and want them to do it more?
- Do you not have any consequences in your home for doing wrong? Do you rule well your own home?
How will you rule with Jesus in His kingdom when you can’t hate evil and love righteousness?
- If you’re okay with false religion, which you should hate, how will you rule with Jesus Christ?
- David was a man after the Lord’s own heart. He said, “I hate every false way. I HATE EVERY FALSE WAY.”
- For example, I hate the false religion of oneness or modalism. I hate it and won’t be around it at all.
- I can’t stand it. I hate it with a passion. And you ask, “You’re a Christian, and you hate?”
YES! Do you know why? Because false religion deceives people, lies to people, and kills those people.
- But those people think I’m being hateful to them. No, it’s the opposite. You’re deceived.
- I want those deceived people to go to heaven. My harsh words will make them think twice.
- My rejection of their false religion might make them to think twice. I don’t approve of what they do.
I’m not okay with what they do. I’m not okay with babbling fools and their so called speaking in tongues.
- What they call speaking in tongues is a lie because speaking in tongues is speaking in a language.
- A language has order and structure. The words that come out of their mouth are lies.
- Love is not allowing evil and wickedness to continue and encouraging people to continue.
- Helping people in a false religion is not what God commands us to do. He rules with a rod of iron.
[19] Revelation 12:5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
[20] Revelation 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
- We are to follow Jesus Christ. He’s not okay with false religion. HE IS FIERCE AND HAS GREAT WRATH.
- He tells us what to do. But we think Jesus is the laid back, long haired hippie, who loves and wants peace.
- He does want peace and will bring peace, but it only comes through Him.
- He isn’t at peace with a false religion, fornication, drinking alcohol, and doing drugs.
- He isn’t at peace with liars. If you think I’m wrong, I know you haven’t listened to His words.
[21] Exodus 15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.
- I might lose a lot of battles here in this earth in this life. But in the world to come, I lose none.
- Why? Because I shall ever be with the Lord. You can kill this body of mine, but you can’t kill my soul.
- How can God be a man or war and a man of peace?
- He is at peace with righteousness and at war with evil. When you do right, you are at peace with Jesus.
- When you do wrong, you can say PEACE, PEACE when there is no peace.
You can think God is okay with homosexuality, as an example, but He’s not okay with it. He says so.
- You can think God is okay with what you do, but He’s not okay with it. You’re deceived.
- When you do wrong, it’s time to admit your were wrong, ask God’s forgiveness quickly, and get it right.
- Why? Because the Lord is a man of war: the LORD is his name. You don’t want to be at war with Him.
- Ask King Saul how that worked out for him. Ask Samson how that worked out. Ask David.
- The Bible tells you how it worked out for them. Jesus rules with a rod of iron.
And He expects us to follow Him and be the exact same way.
- This country is an example of not ruling with a rod of iron. You can see the result of going away from God.
- You can see the result of being easy on everyone and calling it love. No, it’s laziness and wickedness.
- This is not love. Love is doing what God tells us to do. It’s punishing with consequences.
- It’s putting a stop to the evil and not letting it go too far. Drug heads never have consequences.
- Why? Because everyone loves them and rewards them for what they do. Everyone feels sorry for them.
Everyone wants to give them everything when they don’t work. This breaks God’s way. Not good.
- Let’s go back to Hebrews Chapter 1 in verse 9. The Bible tells us this again.
- And look, the Bible itself ties the Old Testament and the New Testament together perfectly.
[22] Hebrews 1:9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
- If you would stop being deceived by this world and the churches and simply listen to God’s word, you would get this right.
- We need to hate iniquity. And this means to reject these things.
- If you have a good friend who won’t stop fornicating and you have rebuked them over and over again, it’s time to get away.
Does this mean you can’t speak with them about God another time? No, it doesn’t mean that.
- Does this mean you can’t help them when they are in trouble? No, it doesn’t mean that.
- But you can’t encourage them and act like it’s okay. You must let them know you aren’t okay with it.
- What happened to just speaking the truth?
Hey, friend, son, daughter, dad, mom: “I am not okay with what you’re doing.”
- “You need to stop before it’s too late. If you keep on, I won’t be able to be around you any more.”
- Is what you’re doing, such as fornicating, worth losing a friend over? Is it worth losing a Dad over?
- Is it worth losing a sister over? “Hey son, you need to get things right.”
- Why can’t we just speak these words? WORDS CUT RIGHT THROUGH.
- If they hate you for telling them the right things, what does this say about them?
For example, my parents told me a long time ago that I needed to get things right.
- I didn’t want to hear it at the time, but I didn’t hate them for it. I stored up those words.
- I listen to them. Why? Because they are my Dad and my Mom.
- If you can’t speak the truth to a son, daughter, sister, brother, dad, or mom, DO YOU LOVE THEM?
- If they won’t listen to you, DO THEY LOVE YOU? If they won’t listen to you, how do they love you?
[23] Exodus 20:6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
- If you’re trying to tell them the right things, and they won’t listen at all, do you have mercy on them?
- God says that He shows mercy unto thousands that love Him, and keep His commandments.
[24] Proverbs 8:17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
- You can keep trying, but you don’t join in with them. And you don’t support their false ways in any way.
- And if they buck up against you and won’t listen at all, something is wrong. Understand these things.
- And if you continue to support their false ways, this is not love. Do you love them?
- If so, follow God’s commandments to you concerning them.
- And you all might think I do things the wrong way, but I’m trying my best to follow what God said to do.
- And if we love righteousness and hate or reject iniquity, God anoints us with the oil of gladness.
This is what He did for Jesus Christ. Because He hated iniquity, He anointed Him above thy fellows.
- If you want to rule and reign in the kingdom of Jesus Christ, you need to get all this right at this time.
- You need to start practicing right now. Use your words wisely. Get them right. Talk to people.
- Communicate with people. Teach them the right things.
Ask them why they don’t want to hear the right things? The world is trying to kill you. It’s obvious.
- The world is trying to get children to want to mutilate their bodies over this gender trash.
- Is that not obvious enough? The world tried to scare you to death with Covid. Is that not obvious enough?
- We must wake up and finally see the 100% truth in God’s words.
[25] Hebrews 1:10-11 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: 11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
- This speaks of Jesus Christ. He is Lord. “In the beginning, Jesus laid the foundation of the earth.”
- The heavens are the works of HIS HANDS. Yes, He has hands. We are made in His image.
- You might wonder: Why do we look like this? We look like this because God looks like this.
- He doesn’t look like us. We look like Him. He has hands, feet, eyes, ears, lips, and a tongue.
- And He made all of this creation. It’s all His.
Creation speaks of Him. When it poured rain the other night, we wake up to flooding.
- When you pull up to a road that you’re accustomed to driving on and it’s covered in raging water, it’s a little scary.
- Water can be calm and peaceful, but it can be raging and powerful too. Water can destroy your body.
- Water can rip you apart. Same thing with the sun. Same thing with fire. It can warm you and comfort you.
- But it can burn you into ashes too. How can these things be? Don’t take the good without the bad.
- Don’t act like God is one thing when He is both. He is love, and He is hate. He is calm, and He is angry.
We are His creation. He makes the rules. We follow them or not. Follow them and we get peace.
- Break them and we get wrath. Verse 11 says: “They shall perish; but thou remainest.”
- Jesus isn’t going away. You can ignore Him, but He’s not going away. Tell your kids these things.
- Teach them. Read these words to them. “And they all shall wax old as doth a garment.”
- Look at me. I’m waxing old. I’m getting older and older. This doesn’t happen to God. He has no sin. I do.
- For the wages of sin is death. We get old and die because we have sinned. God doesn’t wax old or get old.
[26] Hebrews 1:12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
- When you get rid of clothes, you fold them up. They are done. We change through the years.
- We get folded up and are done at the end. Our bodies have an end. God does not have an end.
- Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. “AND THY YEARS SHALL NOT FAIL.”
- Our years do fail and death does come closer and closer to us. We fail. Our bodies fail. We are dying.
That’s why we need Jesus Christ who doesn’t fail. He’s never failed once and will never fail once.
- Some false preachers will actually say that Jesus failed when He died on the cross.
- They have called Him a failure. WHAT FOOLS AND WHAT IDIOTS THEY HAPPEN TO BE. Serpents.
- Vipers. They will be eaten up by the fire in hell.
[27] Psalm 90:4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
- A thousand years ago was like yesterday to God. Not to us, though. We are not like God.
- He is God. His name is God. He is the Almighty. Our years are like a vapor. His are not.
- We lift Him up and not ourselves. We don’t strive to make a name for ourselves.
We strive to glorify His name. NOT OURS. I don’t even care if you know my name. My name isn’t important.
- I do care if you know the name of Jesus Christ. There is salvation in none other name under heaven.
- His name is given among men. They know His name. We must be saved by Jesus Christ.
- My name isn’t important. Not my first name and not my last name.
- The name of Jesus Christ is the name you need to know.
[28] Hebrews 1:13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
- Jesus is far higher than any of the angels. Michael and Gabriel are nothing compared to Jesus Christ.
- The Father says to the Son, Jesus: “Sit on my right hand.” He is equal with His Father.
- God says that He will make the enemies of Jesus His footstool. The world is His footstool.
- This world is the enemy of Jesus Christ. Can you not see this? You need to see clearly.
[29] 1 John 2:15-16 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
- If any man love this world, the love of the Father is not in him. This speaks of the evil in this world.
- This world teaches you the opposite of God’s words. And it’s been doing this since the beginning.
- We are of this world but God is not of this world. We are from the earth. God is not.
Do not love the things of this world like fornication, adultery, lust, covetousness, alcohol, drugs, and money.
- Do not be deceived into thinking all of these things are good. They will kill you.
- They are serial killers. Do you want to run towards a serial killer?
- Do you want to pull the cart full of evil towards you? Do you want to go towards the things that kill you.
[30] John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
- Love the things of this world or the things that are not of this world. Which one will you choose?
- Choose Jesus Christ because He has life. If you want this life, you must get it from Jesus Christ.
- And yes, all the enemies of Jesus are His footstool. No matter if it’s Satan himself, he is a footstool.
- The feet of Jesus Christ will stomp Him to pieces. Do you want to be on that side?
[31] Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
- Angels, again, are ministering spirits and they are not flesh and blood. They are not God.
- They were created by God to be ministering spirits. They are not Jesus Christ. He is not them.
- They are sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation. Thank God.
- Ministers are there to help people in need. To serve them. To help them in the right ways.
The heirs of salvation are all those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. There are no other requirements.
- Heirs, H-E-I-R-S, is one who inherits or one who is entitled to possess.
- We are entitled to possess eternal life by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
- If it’s by grace, then we can’t work for it. It is the gift of God. Grace means we don’t deserve it.
- We are all sinners. There’s none righteous, no, not one. There’s none good but God.
- How do we become heirs of righteousness? We must get this righteousness from Jesus Christ.
And then the Bible is telling us that these created angels are ministering spirits to us.
- They are set forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation.
- If you study all the instances of the word angel and angels throughout the Bible, you’ll see all the example of the how the angels minster unto God’s people.
- And let me share with you just one story of that because this is one of my favorites.
[32] 2 Kings 6:12-14 And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber. 13 And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan. 14 Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.
[33] 2 Kings 6:15-16 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? 16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.
- Elisha could see the spiritual world and knew that he was not outnumbered.
- For example, I might feel like I am outnumbered in this world as I preach sermons.
- I get a lot of nasty people who especially don’t like when I preach against something.
- If I call someone a name, they especially don’t like it but I follow after the words of this Bible.
- You can condemn me all you want, but I am not outnumbered. We all must remember this.
- “And he answered, FEAR NOT: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.”
[34] 2 Kings 6:17-18 And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. 18 And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the LORD, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.
- People with faith in God can pray to God, believing, and the prayer be answered.
- “And he saw: and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.”
- Let’s do what God says and know that He is protecting us. CHARIOTS OF FIRE.
If you want to do some battle against God and His people, you don’t have spiritual chariots of fire.
- You might have guns, arrows, darts, poison, vaccines, money, evil laws, prisons, and more.
- But we have spiritual chariots of fire that you can’t see.
- And they’re standing right beside you just waiting for you to make the first move.
- And maybe they will allow you to overcome us, but you’re just making God more angry.
- Remember, God has legions of angels ministering unto us. Thank you, God.
Let’s pray.
