[2] The title of the sermon: “PROVERBS CHAPTER 21.”

Continuing a Verse By Verse Study Through The Book of Proverbs

  • Let’s continue our verse by verse Bible study through Proverbs.
  • We’ll start there in verse 1 of Proverbs Chapter 21.

[3] Proverbs 21:1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

  • Think of the rivers of water. The water turns in the direction of the river.
  • A king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord as the rivers of water.
  • God turns the king’s heart whithersoever He will. With you, if you love God, He does the same.

[4] Proverbs 16:1 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.

[5] Proverbs 16:9 A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

[6] Proverbs 20:24 Man’s goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?

  • You can make your own decisions and go your own way, but God won’t allow you to go too far.
  • Just as the waters in the river are allowed to go where they want in the bounds of the river banks.
  • They can choose their own path, but they can’t go too far and they turn the direction God allows.

King Saul is an example of this. King David is an example of this. God directed King Saul.

  • Saul made his own choices and chose his own path. He did evil things.
  • But God didn’t allow King Saul to go too far before he took him out of this life.

[7] Psalm 23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

  • A good king follows the Lord and His ways. He flows with the river of righteousness.
  • A good king allows the Lord to lead him and he follows. Let’s move to verse 2 of Proverbs Chapter 21.

[8] Proverbs 21:2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.

  • Men and women love to believe that their ways are the right ways.
  • In their own eyes, all of their ways are right. Every decision and choice they make is right.
  • Is this the truth, though? No, it’s not. “But the Lord pondereth the hearts.”
  • God knows if you’re doing right and doing right is when your ways match God’s ways.

For example, if our country would follow God’s laws, we would be doing right.

  • When we give serial killers life in prison, we’re not doing right. Our ways are wrong.
  • The serial killers should be put to death. Murderers should be put to death immediately.
  • But people continue to think they have a better way than God. But their ways lead to more death.

[9] Proverbs 21:3 To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

  • Doing right is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. Following His law is justice and judgment.
  • Let’s use Scripture to learn what Proverbs 21 verse 3 means exactly.

[10] 1 Samuel 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

  • Obeying the voice of the Lord is better than sacrifice. Obeying the Lord is better than giving an offering.

[11] Jeremiah 7:21-23 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh. 22 For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices: 23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

  • God always commands us in the Bible to OBEY HIS VOICE. Walk in the ways He has commanded us.

[12] Hosea 6:4-6 O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goeth away. 5 Therefore have I hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgments are as the light that goeth forth. 6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

  • If you want to know that you’re doing right and good in this world, get out the Bible.
  • Read it and do it. Doing what He says to do pleases Him.
  • When we go through the Bible verse by verse, learn His words, and do them, THIS PLEASES GOD.

[13] Micah 6:6-8 Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? 7 Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? 8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

  • Do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God. This pleases God, and we want to please God.

[14] Mark 12:33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

  • Loving God and loving your neighbor means you are following God’s commandments.
  • This means you are obeying His voice. If we want to please God, this is what we must do.

[15] Proverbs 21:4 An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

  • This is what God hates. He hates a high look.
  • Have you ever known people that turn up their nose at certain people? They believe they are better.
  • Many so-called “Christians” do this to other people. These are the “Christians” who think they are good.
  • God tells us that we are sinners. There is none that doeth good. They are altogether become filthy.
  • God humbles us through His words and through His greatness. We should never have a high look.

God Hates Pride As We Have Nothing To Be Proud Of

God hates pride. This is sin. Look at verse 4 again. A proud heart is sin. When you say, “I am so proud,” this is sin.

  • The plowing of the wicked is sin. This is happening all over this country.
  • This especially happens in big cities all over this country. The evil spreads.
  • They have their evil lands and they plow their wickedness. They sow their evil seeds and grow wickedness.

[16] Proverbs 30:12-13 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. 13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.

  • Please don’t lift up your eyes with pride. Don’t think you’re better than other people. We aren’t better.
  • We’re only saved by God’s mercy and by God’s grace.

[17] Isaiah 2:17 And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.

  • We exalt the Lord. We do not exalt ourselves in any way, shape, or form.
  • Make sure you see this. “THE LORD ALONE SHALL BE EXALTED IN THAT DAY.”
  • If you don’t like that, then you might just be one of those people God talks about in the Scriptures.
  • Make sure you don’t have a high look and a proud heart.

[18] 1 Peter 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

  • Be clothed with humility. Be submissive to God because He’s infinitely higher than you.
  • He is the eternal God, and He resists the proud. He says so right there. He gives grace to the humble.
  • And we are only saved by God’s grace. We must be humble. We must understand we are sinners.
  • God is not. We need Him. He doesn’t need us. He didn’t need the children of Israel.
  • He was going to destroy them and raise up another people through Moses. He has the time. We don’t.
  • God has loved all people, but He doesn’t need you to have eternal life. We need Him for eternal life.

[19] Proverbs 21:5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.

  • Diligence is steadiness. For example, we steadily work in the word of God. We don’t quit.
  • We are diligent in church here. We don’t miss church. We are steady. You know that I’ll be here.
  • God’s people are diligent in work. They are steady. At our normal jobs, we’ll be there.

For example, when I was needed for inventory at GE, I was there. I didn’t have to be either. I didn’t get paid for it.

  • My higher level manager said, “You don’t have to do that.” But I did it to help the others.
  • And I did it on Saturdays for multiple years. I was there on my days off.
  • We need to be people who others can count on when they need something.
  • Be diligent and steady. Don’t act like you’re working hard, but you aren’t actually doing anything.
  • Put some extra effort into things. This leads to plenteousness.

“But of every one that is hasty only to want.” Somme people start off strong and lose interest quickly.

  • For example, Daniel didn’t lose interest in God. He was diligent and steady for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 years.
  • As Christians who love God, we must be steady, diligent, strong. We don’t give up or give in.
  • We have strength in Jesus Christ. The hasty people will always want. We will always have plenty.

[20] 1 Thessalonians 4:10-11 And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more; 11 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;

  • If you always want more when you have Jesus Christ, something is wrong. We have what we need.
  • We stick with God, and we will not be moved. We choose His side in everything, and we don’t stop.

This country has turned people into lazy bums that believe people who work OWE THEM everything.

  • There hasn’t been a day in my life since I started working that I didn’t have a job. Not one day.
  • I don’t take off work for weeks at a time and act like it’s someone else’s job to give me money.
  • When it’s time to work, I’m there. We are not quitters. We are diligent and steady in work.

[21] Proverbs 21:6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.

  • Do you see how all of this goes together? The hasty are the ones who fizzle out quickly.
  • They find other ways to get their treasures. They use their lying tongues, which God hates, to steal things.
  • I get calls every so often from people who want money. They lie about everything they tell me.

They probably have more money than I have even though I haven’t missed a day of work.

  • They never work, and they have treasures. Why? Because they use their lying tongues to get it.
  • They are talebearers. They tell stories that sound good. They use babies so you’ll feel sorry for them.

[22] Jeremiah 17:11 As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.

What these fools do is a vanity, which means it’s worthless and empty.

  • The treasures they get are never appreciated. They didn’t work hard for their treasures.
  • They never enjoy the treasures they steal. They just want more because it’s never enough.
  • They are never full and satisfied. They want to take more and more. They seek death.

[23] Proverbs 10:2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.

[24] Proverbs 13:11 Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.

[25] Proverbs 30:8-9 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: 9 Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

  • People in this world want riches. We don’t want riches. Give me neither poverty nor riches.
  • We just ask for food that is convenient for us. Lord, give us what we need when we need it.
  • We don’t want anything more. We don’t want want to be poor, and we don’t want to be rich.

[26] 1 Timothy 6:8-9 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

  • I don’t want riches. Why would anyone who believes God want riches?
  • Temptation and a snare or a trap will come to you. You’ll have many foolish and hurtful lusts.
  • These things will drown you in destruction and perdition or total loss and ruin. Who wants that? Not me.

We Pray To Not Have Riches

I want to be clear. I’m not here for your money. I don’t take any money or payment here for myself.

  • If you give money here, it doesn’t go to me at all. Understand that. I don’t care about your money.
  • I don’t care how much you have or how little you have. It’s not important.

[27] Proverbs 21:7 The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.

  • The wicked refuse to do right. They destroy themselves through their wickedness. They are robbers.
  • They think they are gaining through robbery, but they lay wait for their own blood.
  • They are greedy of gain and will cut a path through anyone and anything it takes. They are evil.
  • They are thieves. They steal, kill, and destroy just like their father the devil. They are reprobate.

[28] Proverbs 21:8 The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.

  • God says that the way of man is froward and strange.
  • If we follow our ways versus God’s, we don’t make any sense at all.
  • For example, why do people want to follow and love the biggest fools in this world?

Michael Jackson, as an example, is one of the most famous stars in this country.

  • He was a child molester, but people loved him and still love him. Why is that? Froward and strange.
  • If we were pure as God is pure, we would hate Michael Jackson because he was a sick and nasty man.
  • Or woman. I’m not sure. I am only sure he was wicked.

[29] Proverbs 21:9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

  • All of these proverbs are from the mouth of God. No one wants to be around a brawling woman.
  • If you are a woman who is always causing strife in your home, you need to wake up.
  • If you submit to your husband as God commands you to do, you wouldn’t be a brawling woman.

Are you always yelling at your husband? Are you always yelling at your children? Are you the boss?

  • Who do you think you are? You aren’t the leader of the home. God says so.
  • Next time you want to go off on your husband you should think twice about it. God’s watching.
  • His eyes run to and fro throughout the earth. There’s nothing He doesn’t see.
  • Do you want to make God angry? If so, break His commandments and be a brawling woman.
  • Your husband would rather go live in the corner of attic.

[30] Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

[31] Colossians 3:18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

  • God repeats these exact words twice in different books.
  • WIVES, SUBMIT YOURSELVES UNTO YOUR OWN HUSBANDS.
  • Stop brawling against your own husband. If you won’t, you are sinning constantly against God.
  • If you can’t submit to your own husband, you won’t submit to God either.
  • You’ll stiffen your neck against Him too, and trust me, you don’t want to do that. You’ll lose.

[32] Proverbs 21:10 The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.

  • The wicked love to run to evil. That’s what they want all the time. They love drugs and alcohol.
  • They love to start trouble with everyone around. They go searching for evil so they can join in.
  • The neighbor of the wicked, no matter what they do, will never find favor in the eyes of the wicked.
  • The wicked will always hate their neighbors no matter what their neighbors do for them.

[33] Proverbs 21:11 When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.

  • When a scorner or scoffer or a hater of God is punished, the simple are made wise.
  • The simple will beware and be made wise. The scorners need punishment so the simple are made wise.
  • And then the wise are instructed and receive knowledge. This is what we want. We want knowledge.

[34] John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

  • When we know that the scorners will be punished in everlasting hell, we think twice about that.
  • We know that God will do what He says He will do. We can either believe on His Son or be cast into hell.

[35] Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

  • Once we understand that God is the Almighty and perfect and just and holy, then we listen to Him.
  • Then we receive knowledge and instruction from Him.

[36] Proverbs 21:12 The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.

  • The righteous man will consider and look upon the house of the wicked.
  • We cannot see and determine 100% for sure if a man is good or wicked.
  • This can be very difficult for us to see. So we consider these people. Are they evil or not?
  • But God overthrows the wicked for their wickedness. God can see their wickedness immediately.
  • He knows their thoughts, their mind, and their heart. We don’t.

But God gives us knowledge and wisdom to consider the house of the wicked. We can see other things.

  • We can see if they get angry when you try to teach them the right ways.
  • For example, we had a man who attended here who got angry when I preached that women should be keepers at home.
  • For example, we had another man who attended here who got angry when I rebuked him for not working and asking me to give him $2500.
  • Instead, these men need to read their Bibles and trust what God says. They should know these Scriptures.

Wisely Consider The House Of The Wicked

But, are they wicked? Or, are they righteous? At first, I thought righteous. I considered their house.

  • One of them I believe to be righteous but he walks disorderly. One of them I believe to be evil and wicked.
  • This one acted like he believed on Jesus Christ. But he hated when I taught truth from the Bible.
  • Now, I see what he says and he doesn’t believe on Jesus Christ. He believes you can lose salvation.
  • He is preaching that you must endure to the end to be saved. He’s proving himself to be wicked.
  • He won’t work. He won’t provide for his family. He’s worse than an infidel.

[37] 1 Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

  • We use God’s words to help us determine whether or not someone is good or evil.

[38] Matthew 7:15-17 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

  • We can take a look at what these people are producing.
  • You can take a look at how they treat their children. Are they teaching them the truth?
  • Are they attempting to find the truth for their children? Do they care at all?
  • We use God’s words to help us make wise decisions.

[39] Proverbs 21:13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

  • If someone is crying for food because they are poor, what would you do?
  • And I mean actually crying for food and not deceiving you and acting like they don’t have anything.
  • Would you help them? Of course we would help them. We would give them the last food that we had.

If you won’t help these people who are truly poor, then you won’t be heard when you cry out.

  • This is what God says. But do not be deceived by the workers of iniquity who act as if they are poor.
  • They are everywhere around here today, and they play on your emotions.
  • Many, when you know they are deceivers, will call you names when you pass them by.
  • For example, I am not going to give these able bodied men money who stand at stop lights.
  • There is work everywhere. This country needs workers, but they won’t work. They shall not eat.

Now, if I see a man who cannot work who is hungry, I will feed that man. I will not give him money for liquor.

  • I will not give him money for drugs. I will buy him a meal, or two, or three, or more.
  • Most of the people I have tried doing this for get angry because I won’t give them money.
  • This means they aren’t hungry for food. They are hungry to feed their addiction. I will not help with that.
  • If you help with that, this is called doing evil.

[40] Proverbs 28:27 He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.

[41] Deuteronomy 15:11 For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.

[42] James 2:15-16 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

  • Listen to this so you understand. If someone needs clothes, we provide clothes for them.
  • If someone needs food, we provide food for them. We don’t provide money for drugs and liquor.
  • Most of the homeless people in this country are addicted to drugs and liquor.
  • We do not support those things in any way. We don’t give them more alcohol.
  • We don’t give them drugs and needles. This is wicked. Naked and destitute of daily food.
  • Are they able to work? If so, we help them by making sure they get a job.
  • We teach them to take care of themselves. We teach them how to be saved. We give them the Gospel.

[43] Proverbs 21:14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.

  • A gift in secret and a reward in the bosom pacifies anger and strong wrath.
  • If someone is angry at you, a gift and a reward for that person will change that anger.

[44] Proverbs 21:15 It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

  • Doing right is doing God’s commandments. It is joy for us to follow His commandments and do justice.
  • The workers of iniquity hate to do right. They are headed for destruction. God hates workers of iniquity.
  • They only want to do evil. They will never do good.

[45] Proverbs 21:16 The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.

  • Many people are very close to the way of understanding and knowledge.
  • Some of those people come here. We believe they are finding their way to understanding.
  • Then we find out they only came here because they wanted free money for their drug habit.
  • When we tell them they aren’t getting any money, they wander out of the way of understanding.
  • They are dead in their sins, and they shall remain in the congregation of the dead.
  • Evil things are more important to them than God Almighty. They could care less about Jesus Christ.

[46] Proverbs 21:17 He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

  • There’s all these people running around out there today that don’t have any money at all.
  • Why is that? Because they love pleasure and spend it all on their pleasure.
  • He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man. He that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

Why Are You Spending All The Money You Make On Pleasures?

These people will spend all their money each week on pleasures for themselves.

  • Most of the money the receive is from other people too. They didn’t even work for it.
  • They get their disability checks when they can clearly work and are not disabled.
  • They won’t even try to work. They get their welfare checks. They get their food stamps.
  • They go spend it all as soon as they get it. On what? TV’s, video games, food, restaurants.

They spend it on worthless things. They won’t spend it on a roof for their home. They won’t clean their home.

  • They won’t fix their vehicle. They’ll just let it go until it’s broken down for good.
  • They’ll let their homes rot while they play video games and go to Wal-Mart constantly to buy trash.
  • They will go out to eat and spend way more than what’s needed on food.
  • And then what they do? They whine and complain that they don’t have any money.

They come to me asking for money. Why do I have money? I don’t make much more than anyone else.

  • I have some money saved because I don’t spend it on all these pleasures. I don’t need them.
  • I don’t need to go spend $200 to eat at a fancy restaurant with my family and friends.
  • I don’t go spend my entire paycheck every time I get one.
  • If you don’t save some money to take care of your home, your home will rot.
  • And then you come crying to me because you didn’t care for anything but your own pleasure.

You shall be a poor man. GOD SAYS SO. Get over yourself and all your pleasures.

  • Get over your drugs, pain pills, alcohol, doctor visits, disability checks, welfare checks, free money.
  • Then you’ll be asking for clothes and food, and I will take you to get some clothes and some food.
  • I will not take you out to feed your pleasures. I will not give you money to buy a new big screen TV.

[47] Proverbs 21:18 The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.

  • When we get into trouble, God saves us out of that trouble many times.
  • The wicked come and take our place. We get into things many times that we thought were good things.
  • God saves us out of that trouble. But the wicked replace us in that same trouble and they aren’t delivered.

[48] Proverbs 11:8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.

  • God gets us out of trouble when we don’t even know it’s there. Thank God. We love you, God.

[49] Proverbs 21:19 It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.

  • We see this same thing throughout the Book of Proverbs.
  • If you are married to an angry and contentious woman, it’s better to move out in the woods.
  • It’s better to move out to the mountains. It’s better to not have running water.
  • It’s better to not have electricity. It’s better to have to find your own food growing in the wilderness.

So, listen, women, do not be angry and contentious or wanting to fight and argue about everything.

  • Let me be clear. You don’t get everything you want.
  • You aren’t the queen of the world as this world teaches women now.
  • You aren’t the great princess that Disney teaches you to be. You whine and complain about everything.

Get over it and submit to your husband as God commands you to do.

  • “Well, I want this. Well, I want that.” Did you think about what your husband wants?
  • “Oh no, I don’t and I won’t think about what he wants. He gets what I want. I get what I want.”
  • “It’s all about me. I want this. I want that. And if you don’t get it for me, I will yell and scream.”
  • “I will act like a 2-year old who isn’t getting what she wants.”
  • Well, guess what, men? It’s better to just go live out in the wilderness.
  • Then, who’s going to do all your work for you, women? No one will be there. Is that what you want?

[50] Proverbs 21:20 There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.

  • Do you get a paycheck and then go spend it all on stupid things? If so, you are a fool. Understand that.
  • God says so. “But a foolish man spendeth it up.” And then what? They want you to give them more.
  • Why? So they can spend all of yours up too. These people believe everyone else owes them something.

But they didn’t work for it. Let me be clear for all the people out there who think I owe them something.

  • I don’t owe you anything. If you work for something, I pay. If you don’t work for something, I don’t pay.
  • So, stop asking me for money because you spend all of yours up on stupid things that are trash.
  • Stop spending it on things you “THINK” you need. You don’t need them.
  • You “NEED” food and clothing. And you don’t need expensive restaurant food either.
  • We have food, clothing, and extra money because we are wise and don’t spend it all on pleasures.

[51] Proverbs 21:21 He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

  • Follow after righteousness and mercy, and you will find life, righteousness, and honor.
  • God is all of those things. Men and women are not those things. Don’t follow men and women.
  • Follow after the Lord who is righteousness and mercy. He is honorable. We are not.

[52] Proverbs 21:22 A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.

  • A wise man will always find a way to cast down the strength and confidence of the wicked.
  • God is that way. You can see all types of examples of God’s prophets doing this exact thing.
  • Elijah and Elisha come to mind immediately. Elisha defeated an entire army through God.

[53] 2 Kings 6:14-15 Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about. 15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?

[54] 2 Kings 6:16-17 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

[55] 2 Kings 6:18 And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the LORD, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.

  • The men and women of this world might think they are winning right now, but they won’t win.
  • God is here. He is always here. We will follow Him, and we will be wise.
  • We will cast down the mighty, their strength, and their confidence through Jesus Christ.
  • In the end, we will win. There is no doubt about that. They may kill our body but not our soul.

[56] Proverbs 21:23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

  • Keeping your mouth is being quiet when you don’t need to say anything.
  • But, if you need to speak the truth, it’s time to speak the truth. Be ready, though, for troubles.
  • When you preach God’s words, you will find trouble.
  • God isn’t teaching us in this Scripture to be quiet and never preach His words.

We Are To Open Our Mouths And Preach The Truth

If that were so, Stephen wouldn’t have preached and been stoned.

  • Paul wouldn’t have preached and been beaten. John the Baptist wouldn’t have been beheaded.
  • Jesus Christ wouldn’t have died on the cross. We are not to be quiet when speaking truth.
  • In all other things, though, we need to keep our mouth and tongue.

[57] Proverbs 21:24 Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.

  • If a person deals in proud wrath, their named is called PROUD AND HAUGHTY.
  • God hates the proud and haughty person. This person lifts themselves up.
  • This might be someone who is proud of killing an innocent person.

For example, leaders of countries kill innocent people all the time. And they are proud of it.

  • Police may break the wrong door down and kill people. Many times they get awards for this.
  • They are proud of doing evil. The conscience of these people have been seared with a hot iron.
  • Serial killers are proud of their kills. Rapists are proud of what they’ve done. They are sick and nasty.

In the Book of Esther, we see Haman is a very proud man. He wants to put Mordecai to death.

  • Haman is very high and lifted up. He thinks he is better than the Jews.
  • We see what happens to him. The gallows he made to hang Mordecai were used for Haman.

[58] Proverbs 21:25 The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.

  • A slothful person REFUSES to work. Do you how many sloths we have in this country?
  • It’s absolutely amazing how many sloths we have. They desire to have everything but won’t work.
  • We had one that attended here not too long ago. He lived with us for a while.

We tried to help the man and his family. BUT HE REFUSES TO LABOR.

  • And then he tells everyone that he had everything in Kentucky. He didn’t have anything.
  • But he wants all of these things other people have that worked hard for all those things.
  • He wants other people to take care of him and his family. He is not thankful for anything.
  • He leaves when he realizes he has to work. And I didn’t come up with that rule for men to work.

God came up with that rule. If you are a sloth, you are breaking God’s commandments.

  • Don’t act as if you’re a Christian who follows God, but you refuse to work. You aren’t a Christian.
  • It’s time for men to get up off their lazy rear ends and get to work. Stop being leaches.
  • The desire of the slothful killeth him.

If you think God is leading you to all these places, but you won’t work, I guarantee you God is not leading you.

  • You are leading yourself. It’s the blind leading the blind.
  • You wouldn’t rather break God’s commandments than work and take care of your own family.

[59] Proverbs 26:16 The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason.

  • And then that sluggard who won’t do anything thinks he knows how to do everything.
  • He has no experience with anything because he won’t do anything. But he thinks he’s wiser than all.
  • The man I’m talking about makes snotty remarks about Hispanic people.
  • He looks at them framing a house, and says: “My wife and I could have already had that finished.”
  • Yeah right. These Hispanic men work harder in one week than that man has in his entire life.
  • He would never finish framing one house because he won’t work. CONCEITED.

The Sluggards Always Believe They Know More Than Anyone Else

Yet, he has no experience. Won’t work. Won’t take care of his own family. Cares less about anyone but himself.

  • I’ll take all of the Hispanic people who work hard over all of the lazy bums around here.
  • I hate laziness, and I won’t put up with it. God made us to work. But these people fight against God.
  • Refuse to labor and you will desire to have everything someone else has. This is covetousness.
  • God hates covetousness. That’s one reason why God says you better get to work.
  • Then you can purchase some nice things and enjoy them because you worked hard for those things.
  • You won’t have to look at what someone else has and envy them because they work and make money.

[60] Proverbs 21:26 He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.

  • We give to these people when we don’t even know them. They put on a good act. They lie to us.
  • They steal from us, and it doesn’t bother them at all. They covet greedily all the day long.
  • But the righteous continues to give to others and we do not spare.

Even when people take advantage of us, we continue to help others. God is watching.

  • We will take chances with people, and we’ll lose most of the time.
  • But we might find one person who is saved and begins to follow Jesus Christ.
  • And that one person is worth all of what we’ve lost. So we keep giving. We keep trying. We don’t quit.

[61] Proverbs 21:27 The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?

  • If you’re a wicked man or woman and you bring offering to church, God still hates your offering.
  • He doesn’t need your offering. Most likely you’re trying to get something in return anyway.
  • Many people attend churches around here and only go to benefit themselves.
  • They give offering just so they can get a benefit for themselves. ABOMINATION. God hates this.
  • He doesn’t want a sacrifice from a wicked person with a wicked mind. He rejects it. He hates it.

[62] Proverbs 21:28 A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.

  • Will you hear what God says? Will you then preach what He says?
  • Will you take the wisdom God gives you and share it with others as we’re supposed to be doing?
  • Will you be a witness for God Almighty and tell others what He’s done? This is a true witness.
  • You will live. You will store up treasure in heaven. But a false witness will perish.
  • A false preacher will perish. A false preacher will teach a works based salvation and perish.

[63] Proverbs 21:29 A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way.

  • A wicked man won’t listen to the truth. For example, a drug addicted man won’t listen.
  • He hardens his face. He gets mad when you tell him the truth.
  • They call asking for money constantly. That’s all they want from you. They act like they are your friend.

Why? So they can get money for drugs. You rebuke them and reprove them.

  • You tell them to grow up and be a man. They don’t like it.
  • Listen, if you call me for money for drugs, you won’t get it.
  • If you call and lie to my face, you won’t get anything from me except the truth. I’ll tell you the truth.

STOP TAKING DRUGS. You’re headed for death. It’s your choice. You have to do it. I can’t do it for you.

  • I tell you the truth because I care. Do you not think I care? I do care.
  • You need to believe on Jesus Christ. You need to get your Bible out and start reading.
  • You need to fix this by seeking after God and not drugs. They are dead. They lead to death.

[64] Proverbs 21:30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.

  • I constantly have people coming at me telling me that I’m wrong about what I preach.
  • I use God’s words. I am not wrong about salvation. Salvation is through faith alone and NOT OF WORKS.
  • Do you know how I know that I am not wrong? BECAUSE I USE GOD’S WORDS.
  • He says these things over and over and over again. I read His Bible over and over and over again.
  • I don’t stop reading the Bible. I don’t stop studying the Bible. I trust His words. I repeat His words.
  • That’s all I do when I preach. I repeat the words in the Bible. I use Scriptures to prove everything.

But I get these fools coming and telling me that baptism in water is required to be saved.

  • They tell me that repenting of sin is a requirement to be saved. “You must turn from all your sin.”
  • “You must speak in babbling tongue twisting demon speak to be saved.” This is what they teach me.
  • But I use the word of God. I will not be deceived. You picked the wrong person.
  • “There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord.”
  • Hey, listen up false preaching fools out there: “You don’t know more than God.”
  • I listen to Him and His words alone. I trust what He says. You don’t know more than God.

[65] John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

  • Are you going to tell me I’m wrong when I say you must believe on Jesus Christ to be saved?
  • AND THAT’S IT. Jesus Christ HIMSELF, “THE” SAVIOR of the world, says so.
  • But you think you know better than Him? Are you going to accuse Him of teaching false doctrine?
  • I teach what He teaches. I say what He says. And you call me an idiot and a fool? Now, whose the fool?
  • Whose the one that can’t understand those words right there? Clue. It’s not me. I believe them.

[66] John 11:25-27 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? 27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.

  • Jesus is the resurrection and the life. You aren’t, false preachers. I know. You don’t like that.
  • But I don’t care. I love Jesus Christ, and I will choose Him over your foolish teaching.
  • I’m alive. I believe in Jesus Christ. I put all my trust in Jesus Christ. He is the Savior of the world.
  • I believe that He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for the sins of the whole world.
  • I believe that He took my penalty. I believe that His body was buried and His soul was not left in hell.

Believing In Jesus Christ = Salvation

I believe that He arose from the dead in His body. I don’t just believe, but I know it’s the truth.

  • And now you’re going to teach that I’m evil? Really? I’m alive, I believe in Jesus Christ, and I will never die.
  • And I don’t care if you think something else. You are a fool, and God is wisdom.

[67] Proverbs 21:31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.

  • You can get everything ready for battle that you want. Get your horses. Get your guns. Get your food.
  • Store all these things up for battle. I won’t. I don’t need those things. I have the Lord.
  • With faith in the Lord, I can win any battle. I can be like Gideon. I don’t need a big army.

Jesus Christ is walking in front of me, and I’m following. Are you following Jesus Christ?

  • If so, you don’t need anything else. You don’t need to worry about being ready for battle.
  • We don’t need to stockpile guns. We don’t need bullets.
  • MY SAFETY IS OF THE LORD. He gives life. He takes it away.
  • You come after me. God might take your life. Or maybe you take mine. But I’m not dead.
  • I’ll still be here. I know that God can deliver me out of anything. Will He? I know that He can.
  • He decides. But I know for sure that He can. And I know for sure that I’m not worried about it at all.

[68] Isaiah 31:1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!

[69] Psalm 20:7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

  • Hey, listen, if you have never trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ. NOW IS THE TIME. Right now.
  • Call out to Jesus Christ to save you. You don’t need anything or anyone else to be saved.
  • Simply believe on Him by putting all 100% of your trust in Him.
  • When you take your last breath, you need Jesus to be there. He knows how to take you to heaven.
  • There is no man, woman, or beast alive that knows how to take you to heaven. Only God can do that.
  • So, why wouldn’t you trust in the ONE who gave you life. Do it now and never look back.
  • Forsake all other things and seek Jesus Christ. He will never let you down.

Let’s pray.
