[2] The title of the sermon: “PROVERBS CHAPTER 19.”
Let’s Get All The Wisdom We Can From Proverbs Chapter 19
- We are continuing in our verse by verse study of the Book of Proverbs.
- Let’s start there in verse 1 of Proverbs Chapter 19.
[3] Proverbs 19:1 Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
- I would rather be poor than compromise integrity. I wouldn’t choose sin to make more money.
- I would rather be poor than commit sin and get rich. For example, I wouldn’t lie to you to get offering.
- But that’s what is happening all over this country in the churches today.
- Preachers will not preach the truth from the Bible because they are too scared to lose people.
People in our country today get offended very easily and especially over the word of God.
- So, what do preachers do? “He that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.” This describes false preachers.
- They are very perverse in their lips. They won’t preach God’s word.
- They preach what makes everyone happy. They are fools and perverse in their lips. PERVERTED.
- Church members believe the pastor should always make them happy. WRONG.
- Let me give you some examples.
[4] 1 Corinthians 11:13-15 Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered? 14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? 15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
- It is a shame for a man to have long hair. Jesus didn’t have long hair.
- A woman should have long hair because it is a glory to her. Perverse preachers won’t teach this.
- Why? Because someone might be offended. God wrote this.
- If you won’t preach it and teach it, you’re offensive to God.
[5] Exodus 28:42 And thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness; from the loins even unto the thighs they shall reach:
- Nakedness, as defined by God right there, is from the waist down to the bottom of the thighs.
- If you wear clothing that comes above your knees, then you are walking around naked. God says so.
[6] Isaiah 47:3 Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man.
- Walking around naked is shameful. “THY SHAME SHALL BE SEEN.” It is a shame.
- But no one cares any more and perverse preachers won’t teach or preach this.
- Someone may be offended. The preacher or pastor should care if God is offended. But they don’t.
- The pastors are all about the money. Their so-called “churches” are a business to make money.
- If they preached against all the things their so-called “Christian” members want, they would lose them to another perverse preacher.
[7] Hosea 9:15 All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters.
- God says, “I will love them no more.” God says, “For there I hated them.”
- False preachers won’t teach this because they’ve made up a god that loves everyone no matter what.
- Their god allows everyone to do whatever they want and never gets upset. This is a false god.
- If they preached the one true God, they would lose all of the so-called “Christians.”
[8] Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
- God says, “I will also reject thee.” But perverse fools will teach the opposite.
- They will say, “God doesn’t reject anyone.” A Baptist preacher told me this.
- I told him that God says He does hate people, and He does reject people.
- I said, “Are you telling me God is wrong or do you have some other god?” He got very angry.
- But he was only 4’-6” so I wasn’t bothered very much by his anger.
[9] Zechariah 11:8 Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me.
- God loathes and hates people who hate Him and do whatever they want to do. They are wicked.
- And the living God hates those people. He says so over and over again.
- But a false pastor and perverse preacher won’t teach this because he would lose money.
He would be seen as “unsuccessful” by all the people because he wouldn’t have very many people in his church.
- Again, I would rather be poor and have no one here than compromise the word of God.
- I fear God and not man. It doesn’t bother me if people see me as unsuccessful.
- People would have seen Noah the same way. The people hated Moses much of the time.
- Elijah was alone. Elisha wasn’t very popular. Jeremiah was alone. Jonah wasn’t liked.
- The people tried to kill Daniel. John the Baptist was killed. Paul was hated. Stephen was killed.
Jesus Was Hated By This World And Was Killed
Jesus was hated. They killed Jesus Christ. So, do you think I care if I am seen as successful by this world?
- We shouldn’t care what the people think. And I don’t. I do not compromise for success and money.
- We preach and teach what God says and whatever happens happens.
- If all the people leave, then all the people leave. We will keep going. I will keep going.
- I don’t give people what they want. I will tell them the truth from God’s words.
Listen, do not compromise. Young men and women out there: “DO NOT COMPROMISE.”
- Choose God’s side and never go the other way for ANYTHING or ANYONE.
- Here’s the final example I’ll give you that offends men, women, pastors, Bible colleges, and seminaries.
[10] 1 Timothy 3:1-5 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; 4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
- Men are to be the church leaders. Not women. God clearly says so over and over again.
- Even in the Old Testament the Levite priests were ALL MALES.
- Look at the Scriptures. MAN, HE, HUSBAND OF ONE WIFE, HIS OWN HOUSE, HIS CHILDREN, A MAN.”
- If you are offended at this preaching, you have the problem. I don’t. You have a huge problem.
- And you’re huge problem is everywhere. He is God. Let’s keep going in Proverbs Chapter 19 verse 2.
[11] Proverbs 19:2 Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.
- Knowing that only men can be pastors is wisdom and knowledge. It’s not old-fashioned. It’s correct.
- It’s right. It is good for your sould to have knowledge. Don’t just run to the things of this world.
- “Well, the Bible College says women can be pastors. The Seminary says women can be church leaders.”
- Yes, that’s right in their own mind. They are not worshipping the God of the Bible. They worship money.
- They are evil, and the root of all evil is the LOVE OF MONEY.
[12] Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
- They ran to sin. They hasted with their feet. Eve thinks: “Well, this tree looks good for food.”
- “It is very pleasant to my eyes.” It must be good. She thought no further. She used her own reasoning.
- She didn’t use God’s words. She didn’t trust His words. She went her own way. She sinned against God.
- If you are a woman pastor, you’re doing the same thing. “But it looks and feels so good.”
But it’s not good because God Almighty says so. Trust Him or not. If not, you are a fool.
- He says it is not good for a woman to be a pastor. It is good if a man desire the office of a bishop.
- Stop being deceived. Live by the word of God and trust His words. Don’t run to the ways of this world.
- Don’t live with someone versus marrying them. Stop fornicating. Stop adultery. Stop lying. Stop stealing.
- Stop deceiving people. Stop watching TV. Stop being lazy. Get to work. Stop living off the government.
- Stop being scared of disease. Stop pushing vaccines. It’s all about the money. Wake up.
[13] Proverbs 19:3 The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.
- When Eve went against God’s words, she was very foolish. She would tell you that herself.
- When Adam hearkened unto the voice of Eve over the voice of God, he was very foolish.
- He would tell you that. We have God’s words right here, but there’s so many who won’t listen to them.
- They would rather do it their own way. Women are keepers at home. But they won’t do it.
- One day they will wake up and all their children will be gone or dead. They left their children to others.
- Their foolish ways of building their OWN CAREER will be shown to them. It will be too late for them.
- It will be too late for their children. All because they though their ways were above God’s ways.
The Ways Of This World Are Foolish
All of the ways of the world are very foolish. These ways pervert the right ways.
- When we follow the perverse ways, our hearts fret against the Lord. We agitate the Lord.
- We blame God for things when it is our own fault. The world does this constantly.
- They say, “If there was a God, He would put a stop to all this pain.”
- Hey, listen, if you would do what God says, you could put a stop to all this pain.
- Why don’t you do something instead of blaming it on God or someone else all the time?
- Why doesn’t everyone just do what God says? THEN, all the pain can go away. STOP blaming God.
- Stop fighting against God and blaming Him for everything.
[14] Proverbs 19:4 Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.
- People love you when you have money and share that money with them. “Wealth makes friends.”
- But are they good friends? No, they aren’t. They are just there to get their portion from you.
- No one wants to be friends with the poor. This is the truth. Here’s an example.
When someone comes here and we don’t have that many people here, they see us as a poor church.
- When we don’t have a big and fancy church building, they see us as poor. But we aren’t poor.
- We are spiritually rich here because we love the Lord God Almighty. We love Jesus Christ.
- But, it’s the appearance to them. They live by their sight, feelings, and emotions. We don’t.
- We do not compromise ANYTHING for the word of God. Wealth is not over God’s words.
“But we could win more people to Jesus Christ if we could just keep them in church and not offend them.”
- Wrong. We win people to Jesus Christ outside of church the majority of the time.
- THEN, people come to church because they want to worship God and learn what He says.
- The people who care about God first won’t be offended at His words, get angry, and leave.
- They will take His words, write them within, and make the changes to align with God’s words.
[15] Proverbs 19:5 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.
- The liars and the false witnesses don’t believe this Scripture. They think they get away with the lies.
- But God says they will not get away with it. If you’re one of their victims, don’t worry.
- You don’t have to get vengeance on these liars. Let it go. God will take care of it.
- “HE THAT SPEAKETH LIES SHALL NOT ESCAPE.” That means God is coming for you, liars.
[16] Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
- God hates false witnesses. He says so right there. These 6 things doth the Lord hate.
- “A false witness that speaketh lies.” God HATES false witnesses. And yes, this means THE PERSON.
- When someone lies about you, God will take care of it. Avenge NOT yourselves.
[17] Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
- Many times we want to get the revenge, but this is the flesh guiding us. Let it go. God will repay.
- Do not repay evil with evil. God will repay the evil. He is the judge. Let Him take care of it. And He will.
[18] Deuteronomy 32:35 To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.
- The feet of the liars shall slide in due time. They may think they are standing tall right now.
- But watch. They will fall. Their feet will slide, they will slip, and they will fall right on their faces.
- So, again, don’t worry when someone tells lies about you. The truth will be clearly shown.
[19] Proverbs 19:6-7 Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts. 7 All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.
- People want the favor of the prince or to be seen good in his eyes.
- Who are you seeking to please and to receive good favor from? Is it God or is it man or woman?
- Many people try to please everyone. They will agree with anything just to please someone.
- They will give gifts just to get favor from someone. But watch who you’re attempting to gain favor with.
Who Are You Obtaining Favor From? God Or Someone Else?
For example, President Joe Biden wants you to get the evil and wicked Covid-19 vaccine and all the booster shots.
- This is the same man who calls himself a “Christian” but also call himself a “Catholic.”
- He says, “We’re all God’s children. We should treat each other as we would like to be treated ourselves.”
- A Catholic, in general, doesn’t believe on the Lord Jesus Christ alone. They add many works to salvation.
- They add many other things to their religion that are not found in the Bible. They have a false god.
The truth is that we are not all God’s children. A simple Bible study will show you that very easily.
- I am not here to please Joe Biden. What I preach will not please Joe Biden because he doesn’t follow God.
- If he followed God, he would love what I preach. But he doesn’t, and he will hate what I preach.
- Joe Biden is a man who believes abortion is good. Murdering babies is okay with him.
- So, do I do whatever I can to intreat his favour? No, I don’t. Joe Biden could crush me in my flesh.
- He has power in this world that I can’t even imagine. I am a little man versus Joe Biden in this world.
[20] Proverbs 19:12 The king’s wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.
- Joe Biden’s wrath against me would take me down.
- He could be a false witness against me and destroy me in this world. I could just fall in line with him.
- And then all would be good with him. That’s what people in the world are doing.
- The pastors and preachers just fall in line with whatever leader takes over.
- They will do whatever the President of the United States tells them to do.
- One year the same thing is the right thing to do. The next year the same thing is the wrong thing to do.
[21] Proverbs 29:26 Many seek the ruler’s favour; but every man’s judgment cometh from the LORD.
- I don’t have to seek Joe Biden’s favor. I only need to seek God’s favor. It’s rather easy that way.
- I don’t have to change each time a new President comes into office. I can stay constant in my beliefs.
- I can stay constant in my actions because God does not change His ways on us. He is rock steady.
- He is rock solid. He does not waver. He isn’t convinced some other way is better.
- He already knows the best ways, and He’s given us the best ways already. We seek to please Him.
[22] Matthew 2:11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
- I will choose to give gifts to the Lord Jesus Christ and seek His favor. Be a wise man. Be a wise woman.
- Present all of your gifts to the Lord Jesus Christ. Give Him your time, your attention, and your love.
- Follow His commandments. Obey the highest power of all by obeying Jesus Christ.
[23] Proverbs 19:8 He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.
- With God’s words, you get wisdom. You will love your own soul. With the world, you will hate your soul.
- Don’t wait until it’s too late. Don’t learn the hard way. Don’t make all of those mistakes that will hurt.
- If you keep understanding by keeping God’s words, you shall find good. This is the truth.
- Do you want good or not? If so, keep God’s words. If you want pain and hurt, then ignore God’s words.
[24] Proverbs 19:9 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.
- This is very similar to verse 5 in this same chapter. “He that speaketh lies shall not escape.”
- “He that speaketh lies shall perish.” Do not speak lies. Speak the truth at all times.
- This means you will perish when you speak lies. Learn and know the word of God and then speak it.
- Then you’ll know for sure that you are not speaking lies.
[25] Proverbs 19:10 Delight is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes.
- A servant doesn’t rule over princes. And delight is not fit for a fool. A fool will not have delight.
- For example, an alcoholic will not have delight in anything. Even the alcohol that he loves bites him.
[26] Isaiah 5:11-12 Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them! 12 And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither consider the operation of his hands.
- True delight comes from following Jesus Christ. Fools never get this delight.
- They hate the only good thing in existence and that is God. And they have zero delight. EVER. Not good.
Defer Your Anger Unless It Is Justified And Controlled
[27] Proverbs 19:11 The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.
- This describes God perfectly. He defers His anger and gives us many chances.
- It is God’s glory to pass over a transgression when we are very sorry and ask forgiveness.
- We should do exactly the same. Use discretion or be under control. Defer your anger.
- When someone is sorry for what they’ve done to you, forgive them and forget about it.
- Pass over the transgression against you.
[28] Matthew 18:21-22 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? 22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
- When your family in Jesus Christ does us wrong, we are to forgive them.
[29] Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
- This is God’s direction for you when your family in Jesus Christ sins against you.
- When your enemy sins against you, what do you do? Let’s see.
[30] Romans 12:20-21 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
- No matter what we are not to do evil against anyone. We always do right. This is God’s command to us.
[31] Proverbs 19:12 The king’s wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.
- God is the King of all and His wrath is much greater than any earthly king or leader.
- The greatest King of all has the greatest wrath of all. He also has the greatest favor of all too.
- He will give you everlasting life or everlasting death. And it’s your choice. Which one?
- Believe on Jesus Christ and have everlasting life. Don’t and have everlasting death in hell.
[32] Proverbs 19:13 A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.
- A foolish son is one who won’t take any correction or instruction from his father.
- A foolish son does whatever he wants and will not listen to his father.
- Think of the man who has a foolish son and a contentious wife or a wife who wants to fight and argue.
- This is why a Godly wife needs to stay home and teach the son from a very young age.
Most likely, the son will not be foolish if the correct path is followed from the beginning.
- A contentious wife does not help the husband lead the home at all.
- The husband is the leader of the home. The wife should not constantly be fighting against him.
[33] Proverbs 27:15 A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike.
- This explains what a contentious wife is like with her continual droppings. It’s like the rain dropping.
- It goes on and on and on and on and on and one.
- And then some women wonder why their husband doesn’t want to be around them.
- This happens constantly in marriages. Women, remember, husbands are the leaders. Stop arguing.
- Stop fighting. Give your opinion and then be quiet. Allow your husband to lead.
- A good husband will listen to his wife’s opinion that she gives to him. And then just be quiet.
[34] Proverbs 21:19 It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.
- The Bible says this. This is why some husbands leave for a long time.
- This is why some husbands want to work really long hours. It’s easier.
[35] Proverbs 19:14 House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.
- We may give houses and riches for an inheritance. A prudent wife is from the Lord.
- The Lord God gives much better gifts than men and women can give.
- God gives a good wife to those who love Him. I would much rather have a Godly wife than a big house.
- I would much rather have a Godly wife than win the lottery. Houses and riches aren’t alive.
- Your wife is living. She can help you much more than a house or riches.
- A house and riches is a good inheritance to receive but a Godly wife is far greater.
[36] Proverbs 31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
- The Bible teaches this over and over again. HER PRICE IS FAR ABOVE RUBIES.
- The lottery is nothing compared to a virtuous woman.
- But there are men out there who treat women like trash. Husbands treat their wives like trash.
- This is a great sin. God commands husbands to love their wives. Follow God’s commandments.
- Love your wife by doing what God says. Buying jewelry is not love.
Buying Your Wife Material Things Does Not Equal Love
[37] Ephesians 5:23-25 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
[38] Colossians 3:19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
- Men and woman are obviously different and God gave us different roles.
- The man is to be more steady and constant. He is the leader of the home and head of the wife.
- Let’s continue in Proverbs Chapter 19.
[39] Proverbs 19:15 Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.
- Being a sloth puts you into a deep sleep. You’ll only get lazier and lazier. You’ll do less and less.
- You’ll sleep longer, stay in bed longer, sit on the couch more, and watch more TV.
- You will become an idle soul that simply sits in a chair all day long. You shall suffer hunger.
- This is not what you want. Get up and get to work. Find something good to do.
[40] Proverbs 20:13 Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread.
- Do you love to sleep? God commands you to NOT LOVE SLEEP. Understand? It’s pretty simple.
- Love sleeping and you will come to poverty. God says, “OPEN YOUR EYES!!!”
- And then you’ll be satisfied with the bread you get from working instead of sleeping.
[41] Proverbs 19:16 He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.
- If you don’t have laws to live by, you will live lawlessly. Some people love to live that way.
- For example, some people just do whatever they want constantly. They are all over the place.
- There is no guidance. Nothing to live by. They will not follow God’s laws. That person will die.
- If you keep the commandments, you keep your own soul. You care for your own soul.
- And you should. You should know what’s right and wrong and do the right and forsake the wrong.
[42] Proverbs 16:17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.
- Depart from evil. It’s that simple. What’s evil? Anything that goes against God’s laws.
- For example, homosexuality is evil. Doesn’t matter what you think. God says so. Follow His ways.
[43] Proverbs 19:17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
- When you have pity on the poor, you are lending to the Lord. Do you think God pays you back?
- God says, “and that which he hath given will he pay him again.”
- When you give to the poor, God will repay you.
- Notice this doesn’t say: “When you give to the sloth, God will repay you.”
- Don’t get sloths mixed up with the poor. If you don’t work, you don’t eat.
- But get this right. Give to the poor and God will pay you back.
[44] Proverbs 11:25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.
- It’s good to give to others who need help. Help the poor. God will help you. Remember that.
- Do you see how much wisdom and knowledge you gain from just one chapter in Proverbs?
- Proverbs is amazing. Trust what God says as He does not lie. Let’s continue in Proverbs Chapter 19.
[45] Proverbs 19:18 Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.
- The Bible tells us that it could be too late for your children if you don’t chasten them or punish them.
- When a child does wrong, you need to chasten or punish that child. Teach your children the right ways.
- If the child cries, the child will be okay. You must punish your children when they do wrong.
- If not, you are sinning greatly against God.
Not Punishing Your Children For Doing Wrong Is Foolish
If you think your ways of no punishment is better, you are a fool. Chastening your children takes work.
- If you won’t do it, it might be because you are a lazy sloth.
- Don’t let your children get by with things because you are lazy.
[46] Hebrews 12:7-8 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
- God does the same with us that He commands us to do with our children. He will chasten us.
- He will correct us. This shows us that He loves us very much.
- If He doesn’t chasten you, then you should be worried. Many evil doers get by with things for now.
- They won’t in the end. This is because they are not children of God. He doesn’t chasten them like us.
[47] Proverbs 13:24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
- If you won’t punish your children, then you don’t love your children. God says so.
[48] Proverbs 19:19 A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again.
- An angry and wrathful man will always be causing trouble.
- There are men and women who go out constantly looking for a fight.
- You can’t make them happy no matter what you do, and they will always want to fight.
- If you deliver this person or help this person get out of trouble, it’s going to happen again soon.
- And again, and again, and again. The man of great wrath shall suffer punishment.
- Many of these people are in prison right now. They have constant wrath against others.
[49] Proverbs 22:24-25 Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: 25 Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.
- For example, don’t join a gang. A gang is filled with angry men and women.
- This is a commandment from God. Make no friendship with angry people.
[50] Proverbs 19:20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
- As most people get older in this world, they get worse. Why is that?
- They won’t hear God’s counsel or instruction. They don’t care what He says.
- As you get older, you should be getting wiser. Some older people think they know everything.
- But they do not know more than God. They won’t change their ways.
Here’s an example for you. Most older people who come here can’t stand the length of the sermons here.
- Their attention span is horrible. They stopped learning when they stopped going to school.
- That was a long time ago. They need entertainment and excitement or they fall asleep in here.
- They say, “Your sermons are too long.”
How Long Do YOU Want The Sermons To Be?
Here’s my question for all the people who think the sermons are too long: How long do you want it to be?
- What can I do to make you happy? I am here to make you happy. NOT.
- I don’t care if you like the length of the sermons. If not, you can leave.
- And don’t come back until you’re ready to actually learn something from the word of God.
- Maybe you should tell God that He should have written a smaller book.
We’re going to focus on the word of God, and we’re going to learn it here.
- If you put the effort forth, you’ll learn more in one sermon than you’ve learned in a lifetime at these watered down churches.
- If you don’t want to gain wisdom and knowledge, then go to a watered down church.
- Go get your 30 minutes of singing and 5 minute sermon.
- Then go home and watch TV so you can be entertained constantly.
I am not your entertainer. I am a preacher and teacher of God’s words.
- Why don’t you actually try increasing wisdom? Why don’t you receive instruction?
- Is it too difficult for you? Stop acting like a baby and put some work into something.
- Receive teaching from God’s words. “THAT THOU MAYEST BE WISE IN THY LATTER END.”
- There are very young children here that have better attention spans than the older people who have come in here and complained about the sermon length.
[51] Proverbs 19:21 There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.
- No matter what you feel is right, God’s counsel is always right. His ways shall stand. Your ways will not.
- People will say, “I feel that this is okay to do. I think this is just fine.”
- It doesn’t matter what the devices in your heart are telling you. Your feelings don’t matter.
- God’s words matter. His ways are the right ways. If you feel He is wrong, you would be wrong.
As an example: If you feel that God is wrong for sending people to hell, then you would be wrong.
- If you make something up such as, “God doesn’t throw people into hell” then you would be a fool.
- God is right when He throws people into hell. It doesn’t matter what you think.
[52] Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
- Anyone who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ is saved and everyone else is thrown into the lake of fire.
- This is the right thing. Man will say, “But this isn’t fair. God could have given them something easier.”
- “He could have given them life in prison versus being put to death and eternal torment.”
- Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. God knows what He’s doing. You don’t. He knows better than you.
- His ways will stand. Your ways will not. If this country followed God’s laws, it would be a great place.
- It’s only getting worse and worse because people don’t want anything to do with God.
[53] Proverbs 19:22 The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.
- We should have a desire to be kind to others. If you have the desire to be ruthless to people, you are evil.
- With kindness comes thoughtfulness, attentiveness, and consideration for others.
- For example, when you get people coming in here that want shorter sermons, who are they thinking of?
- THEMSELVES. What about the children in here who are listening to God’s words and learning?
- Do you care about them? Do you have love for them? Kindness for them? Caring for them? No.
- You would rather your flesh be satisfied with less teaching from God’s words. That’s messed up.
[54] Proverbs 19:23 The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.
- Fear God. Don’t fear anything else.
- Again, you have the older generation leading the younger generation into evil.
- Example: The older people are scared to death of Covid and all the so-called “variants.”
- They spread their fear to the children. We are to fear the Lord and NOTHING ELSE.
- Why didn’t the older people get this figured out? Why didn’t they teach this to the children?
These people who are teaching and spreading fear of disease WILL BE visited with evil.
- They are sinning against God GREATLY by spreading fear.
- We fear the Lord, and we do not fear disease. “He shall not be visited with evil.”
- Fearing the Lord means you won’t sin because you’re too scared to sin against Him.
- This tends to life. You shall abide satisfied when you don’t sin against the Lord.
[55] Proverbs 19:24 A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
- Slothful people do not fear the Lord. God commands you to not be a sloth.
- If you’re a sloth, you obviously do not fear the Lord. But you’ll use His name for gain.
- You’ll say, “God bless you. Can I get 500 hundred dollars so I can go watch TV for a couple more days?”
- “You’re such a Godly man for giving me 500 hundred dollars so I can sit on my couch some more.”
A Lazy Sloth Won’t Even Feed Himself
The slothful man will do things like this. “A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom.”
- And he won’t even bring it out to feed himself. There are people so slothful that they are like this.
- It may be unbelievable to you, but there are many hospital patients like this.
- “I need you to feed me,” they say. They are too lazy to even feed themselves.
[56] Proverbs 26:14-16 As the door turneth upon his hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed. 15 The slothful hideth his hand in his bosom; it grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth. 16 The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason.
- The slothful believe themselves to be very wise. They say things like this:
- “I have peace now that I don’t have to work. This is the better way. This is so peaceful.”
- Yes, of course it’s peaceful to lay in your bed most of the day and do nothing.
- Do you not feel bad about that? If not, you don’t have the Holy Spirit living within you.
- If you find yourself turning over in your bed often throughout the day, you are a sloth.
- “Oh, this side hurts so much. Let me turn to the other side.” SLOTH. SLUGGARD. Get up.
- Hey, all you lazy bums out there: “GET UP AND GET TO WORK.”
[57] Proverbs 19:25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
- Scorners of God’s words should be punished. When the smiting comes, the simple are beware.
- “Hey, did you see what happened?”
[58] Proverbs 21:11 When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.
- A punishment for a scorner leads to learning. The simple is made wise.
- When a wise person is reproved, they will be thankful for the understanding given to them.
[59] Proverbs 19:26 He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.
- Some children waste their father away over and over again. “Dad, can you bail me out again?”
- “Dad, can you call in a favor to the judge for me again? I don’t want to go to jail again.”
- “How much money do you need, son?” I worked with a guy that had a grown son with children.
- The son would come in the place where we worked. The dad would say, “How much you need, Damon?”
- This happened often. The son didn’t even have to ask any more. The dad knew just by looking at him.
- “What do you need this time?” Over and over and over again. Hey, be self sufficient.
Men, Take Care Of Yourself And Your Family
Your dad shouldn’t be taking care of you as a grown man or woman.
- You shouldn’t be getting into trouble constantly. You shouldn’t need favors constantly.
- You are wasting away your father and chasing away your mother. GROW UP.
- Don’t be a son that causes shame. Get a job. Get a wife. Have children. Take care of your own house.
- For example, it’s not my job to take care of another grown man. It’s not your job either.
- That man is bringing shame and reproach. Take care of yourself and your family.
[60] Proverbs 19:27 Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.
- This is a big verse right there. If you are being taught things contrary to God’s words, what should you do?
- This verse tells you. This verse commands you to do this. “Cease to hear the instruction.”
- For example, if you’re in a Seminary that teaches the soul of Jesus Christ didn’t go to hell, you need to go somewhere else like a local church that can actually read.
[61] Acts 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
- Case closed. The soul of Jesus Christ was not left in hell meaning that His soul went to hell.
- If someone is teaching the opposite, they are causing you to err from the words of knowledge.
- Anyone with a brain can read that and know for sure that the soul of Jesus Christ was not left in hell.
- They can easily understand that the resurrection of Jesus Christ includes His soul being raised from hell.
- This is just one example. Know your Bible and stop listening to horrible instruction.
- For example, if you love going to Southeast Christian Church for the sermons, you must be a fool.
- You aren’t learning the truth about anything. Why are you still going there? They preach a false gospel.
[62] Proverbs 19:28 An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.
- This happens in this world every day and all day long. Ungodly people hate God’s judgements.
- And they run their mouth against Him while they continue to sin against Him. They love it too.
- For example, what’s the right punishment for someone who kidnaps someone according to God?
[63] Exodus 21:16 And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
- A kidnapper would be put to death if we used God’s law in this country. Is that what happens? No.
- Many people get less than 5 years for kidnapping and probably get out sooner than that.
- They should be put to death. But the ungodly will hate that judgement from God.
- This is the righteous, holy, and perfect God setting the correct punishment for kidnapping.
The Punishment For Kidnapping Is Death According To God Almighty
PUT THEM TO DEATH. But the ungodly and unrighteous will mock at that judgement.
- “He shouldn’t be put to death. He is a good person. He always brought me meth when I needed it.”
- “He was always there for me when I needed some cocaine. He’s a good guy.” WRONG. Death to him.
- Stop kidnapping children and women you bunch of losers. God is coming for you.
[64] Proverbs 19:29 Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.
- God’s law was written for scorners. His judgements will take place on those people.
- Stripes are for the back of fools. Yes, fools should receive STRIPES in this world.
- If we followed God’s law, people who break His law would receive beatings. And they should.
[65] Proverbs 7:22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;
- They would put the fools into the stocks and beat them. That would be their punishment.
- Now, go on your way. No prison. The penalty is given out and then go on your way.
- If you want to get beaten in the stocks again, go do it again FOOL.
[66] Deuteronomy 25:1-3 If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked. 2 And it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to his fault, by a certain number. 3 Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then thy brother should seem vile unto thee.
- Up to 40 stripes could be given based on the judgement for the case.
- The foolish would learn and be made wise OR they would receive more stripes the next time.
[67] Luke 12:47 And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
- God uses stripes to punish and correct. Yes, this was for adults too. This is the right way.
- Prison is not the right way. Life in prison is not the right way.
- Death may be the right way depending on the crime committed. Stripes for the others.
[68] Proverbs 20:30 The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly.
- Stripes will cleanse the inward parts of the belly. They hurt deep inside. They correct you.
- That ends the Proverbs Chapter 19 sermon.
- I hope you’ve learned lots of new wisdom from Proverbs Chapter 19.
Let’s pray.
