[2] The title of the sermon: “IT IS FINISHED.”
- I am preaching this sermon because of the idiotic people who contact me attempting to “teach me” lies.
- This sermon is written to them and not to you who are here in this church listening and learning the truth.
- They don’t come with the Scriptures. They come with man-made doctrine and teaching.
- They tell me that my doctrine and my beliefs are “MESSED UP.” But I get my doctrine from God.
- Are they going to teach God that He is “MESSED UP” too?
Today, I’m going to show you what they believe versus what I believe.
- And then the people who actually read the Bible can tell me who is “MESSED UP.”
- These fools and idiots are constantly telling me “IT IS FINISHED.”
- They say, when Jesus died on the cross, the sacrifice for sins was finished.
- I say that the death of Jesus Christ on the cross saves us. But there’s more. Is there not more?
[3] John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
- This is where Jesus died on the cross. Does Jesus dying on the cross save us? YES.
- But, are you going to take those 3 words, “IT IS FINISHED,” and act like that’s the end of it.
- Really??? There’s nothing else that Jesus needed to do for us to be saved? Nothing???
Let me ask you something. Are you that stupid to believe there was nothing else that Jesus needed to do?
- Is anyone who calls them self a “Christian” so stupid to believe that everything was finished?
- I get called names, attacked, and told that I need to actually read the Bible.
- You all know I read the Bible and study the Bible. My wife knows. My children know. They see it.
- Who is telling me these things? IDIOTS. FOOLS. SERPENTS. Go crawl on your belly, serpent.
Stick your head in the dirt where it belongs. You accuse me of not reading the Bible.
- Everyone in this church and everyone who watches these sermons see me reading the Bible.
- Do I not use Scriptures through the entire sermon. Many times, I have near 100 verses in each sermon.
- Vipers, why don’t you pull your head out of the dirt and actually listen to God’s words for once?
If you so-called “Christians” didn’t realize, Jesus needed to do many things for us to be saved.
- Did Jesus Christ need to come and live a perfect and sinless life for us to be saved?
- That is the righteousness of Jesus Christ. We need His righteousness to be saved.
- What if He came to earth and sinned? Would we be saved through Him dying on the cross that day?
- NO. He needed to live a sinless and perfect life. Did He not?
Did Jesus need to be born of a virgin for us to be saved?
- Did He need to be conceived of the Holy Ghost so we could be saved? Answer the questions, serpents.
- These serpents will teach that when Jesus died on the cross that it was finished.
- They say, “There was nothing else that needed to be done for us to be saved from our sins.”
- They say it like this: “What do you think Jesus meant when He said: IT IS FINISHED??? Duh.”
- No, the DUH goes out to you fools. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is HIS LIFE.
[4] Mark 1:1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;
- That’s the BEGINNING OF THE GOSPEL of Jesus Christ. The Gospel is the good news that saves us.
- The life of Jesus Christ saves us. The death of Jesus Christ saves us. The burial of Jesus Christ saves us.
- The soul of Jesus Christ going to hell saves us. The serpents HATE when I say that Jesus went to hell.
- That’s what triggers these fools to attack me every time. They mock Jesus going to hell.
- And guess what? I take that mocking very seriously. His soul going to hell saves us.
- The blood of Jesus Christ saves us. The resurrection of Jesus Christ saves us.
- ALL OF THOSE THINGS SAVE US. Obviously, He wasn’t finished when He died on the cross.
So, let’s take a look at ACTUAL REALITY. Did the Bible end at John Chapter 19 verse 30?
- When Jesus died on the cross and gave up the Ghost, were the next words from God “THE END.”
- Did the Bible stop? Did Jesus stop working at that point? Did He not do anything else?
- Now, look, if the Bible stopped right there, the serpents would be correct.
- It would have been completely finished. IT IS FINISHED.
They tell me that the soul of Jesus Christ did not go to hell even though God says that He did.
- They say, “That’s not required for us to be saved because Jesus said IT IS FINISHED.”
- And He meant that nothing else was required. Everything was finished.
- So the body of Jesus didn’t need to be buried? The soul of Jesus didn’t need to go to hell?
- Jesus could have avoided all of that suffering for our sins because these serpents say so.
- They actually believe they know more than God. They “know” the soul of Jesus Christ didn’t go to hell.
[5] Psalm 16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
[6] Acts 2:27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
[7] Acts 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
- “But MY PREACHER says the soul of Jesus Christ didn’t go to hell.”
- “My seminary professor says that the soul of Jesus Christ didn’t go to hell.”
- “My Bible college doctor of theology says that Jesus didn’t suffer in hell.”
- Hey, guess what? I don’t care what any of those idiots say. Do you understand that, serpents?
- I care what the Holy Spirit says because He was actually there when it happened. You weren’t.
And IT IS WRITTEN right there for you to see VERY CLEARLY but you change His words.
- You don’t want to hear them because you are a serpent with your head in a hole in the ground.
- And if you don’t like this sermon, take it up with God because He commands me to rebuke you SHARPLY.
- And that’s what I’ll do. And I could care less if you don’t like it.
- Are you actually going to read Acts 2:31 and tell me that the soul of Jesus Christ didn’t go to hell?
- If you believe that the soul of Jesus Christ didn’t go to hell, then you don’t believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell.”
- What is the resurrection of Jesus Christ? His body arose from the dead.
- How does a body arise from the dead? It must have a spirit of life and soul with it.
- The soul of Jesus was in hell but His soul was not left there. His soul went back with His body.
- And that is the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Was that not required for us to be saved?
- If Jesus never arose from the dead, would we be saved right now? No. So, was His resurrection required?
- YES IT WAS. The resurrection of Jesus Christ saves us.
Did Jesus arise from the dead and show Himself to witnesses? Was that needed?
- Do you think Jesus wasted His time with all of these works that He did AFTER He died on the cross?
- He lived on earth for 40 days before He ascended to His Father in heaven. Was that not needed?
- Was the whole world finished? No. What reality are these people living in? Do they read the Bible?
- If you can look at verse 31 and tell me that Jesus Christ didn’t go to hell, then you aren’t saved.
- You don’t have faith in His words. And you’re going to call me names for preaching what God says?
- And you call yourself a Christian when you won’t even believe the words from God Almighty?
When Jesus Christ said, “It is finished” what could He have meant? He didn’t say the sacrifice for sins is finished.
- Is that we He said? Why would you add all of these things into His words?
- I know why. Because you do the same for the entire Bible. You make it say what you want it to say.
- You twist His words. You add to His words. You are just like your father “THE” serpent, Lucifer.
- You do the same things that he does. You are of your father the devil. You are a religious idiot.
So, how would you figure out what Jesus meant when He said, “It is finished?”
- Do you just come up with whatever meaning you want, false preachers? Is that what you do?
- You go to the words of the Bible, and you figure it out using the Holy Scriptures.
- You might think about starting in the Gospel of John since that’s what you quote all the time.
- “IT IS FINISHED. IT IS FINISHED. IT IS FINISHED.” Over and over again you repeat that like a parrot.
- And you don’t even know what it means. You didn’t take the time to study anything.
- You are commanded to STUDY to shew thyself approved. Did you? No. But you accuse me of what you do.
- Hypocrites, vipers, serpents, idiots, and fools.
So, let’s actually use the words of the Bible to figure out what Jesus meant.
- Let’s look at the Gospel of John. Let’s search for the word finish and finished.
- Let’s see if Jesus says this anywhere else in the Gospel of John.
- But before we do that, what are the Gospels telling us?
- They are giving us the story of the life of Jesus Christ at His first coming.
- What did He come here to do? Let’s see what the Scriptures actually say.
- The word FINISH and FINISHED is found 4 times in the Gospel of John. Let’s read them.
[8] John 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
- Jesus came to earth at His first coming, in the flesh, to do the work of His Father.
- He came to finish the work that His Father gave Him to do. Let’s look at the next occurrence.
[9] John 5:36 But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.
- The works that the Father gave Jesus to do bear witness of the Son of God.
- Jesus was doing works long before He went to the cross. He was doing those works that were needed.
- They were needed so they would bear witness of Jesus Christ that the Father had sent Him.
- Jesus says so. So, again, He’s doing these works and finishing these works.
For example, when He taught Nicodemus in John Chapter 3, HE NEEDED to do this.
- That was a work His Father gave Him to do. And He did it perfectly. And it’s written for us.
- Do you know how many people have been saved through John Chapter 3? Was that needed? Yes it was.
- When He spoke to the woman at the well, HE NEEDED to speak with her.
- Do you know how many people were saved through John Chapter 4.
- Jesus did those works. He did them perfectly. He finished those works. And then He had more to do.
- When He healed the blind man, HE NEEDED to do that work. And He did it.
- And HE FINISHED IT. And then He had more to do. Right? Can you not see this? Open your eyes.
And if you don’t believe me, maybe this next Scripture will change your mind.
- We move to John Chapter 17. This is just two chapters before Jesus died on the cross.
- This is just 2 chapters before Jesus says, “IT IS FINISHED” when He died on the cross.
- He didn’t say, “The sacrifice for sins is finished.” He said, “IT IS FINISHED.”
[10] John 17:4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
- That’s 2 chapters before Jesus died on the cross. Could the Bible have just ended here?
- Did Jesus not need to die on the cross? He just said, “I HAVE FINISHED THE WORK.”
- Does this mean He went and died on the cross for no reason? HE WAS FINISHED, RIGHT?
- That’s what the serpents are saying? IT IS FINISHED. What was He talking about?
Jesus said this right here BEFORE He died on the cross. “I have finished the work.”
- So, could He have just stopped right there? Was the sacrifice for sins finished?
- He says, “I HAVE FINISHED THE WORK WHICH THOU GAVEST ME TO DO.”
- Was He telling the truth? Yes, He was. But He wasn’t talking about dying on the cross.
- TO THAT POINT RIGHT THERE, Jesus had finished the work that He was supposed to do.
- Now, He has more work to do. DUH. Obviously.
Same thing when He says “IT IS FINISHED” when He dies on the cross. He had more work to do.
- The sacrifice continued. Jesus is a burnt offering. He is a sweetsmelling savour.
- Did Jesus not do more work once He died on the cross? Was He finished with everything?
- Was the sacrifice complete? Did He not need to arise from the dead for us to be saved?
- Answer the question, serpents. I’m sick of your lying false doctrine which is total trash.
- You don’t make any sense with the Bible and all the fools believe you. You are deceivers.
Don’t try to add whatever you want to fit your false doctrine that the soul of Jesus didn’t go to hell.
- Yes, the soul of Jesus went to hell. Hell is a place of fire. His soul burned in hell because of you and I.
- And you don’t care, viper. You minimize what Jesus Christ did for all of us. SERPENT.
- What else are you teaching? TRASH IS WHAT YOU’RE TEACHING.
- You’re probably teaching a works based salvation because you are a serpent.
- Jesus says, “I HAVE FINISHED THE WORK,” in John Chapter 17.
- And then He says, “It is finished,” in John Chapter 19.
What did He mean? He was finished with the work He had to do at His first coming. That’s what He meant.
- Do you know how I know this? Because the words of the Bible tell me within the same book.
- He did what His Father asked Him to do. This phase of work is now finished.
- Just like the phase of work was finished that He had to do up until John Chapter 17.
- Use the actual Scriptures and stop making them say things that aren’t there.
- That’s what Satan does, and you’re acting just like him. You repeat Satan’s doctrine.
- Jesus wasn’t finished with all the work. He needed to be buried. Did He not? If not, then why did He do it?
- His soul needed to go to hell as an offering for sin. If not, then why does the Bible say so?
[11] Isaiah 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
- You can believe the words of the Bible or not. I will choose to believe God because He lived it.
- You didn’t. “When thou shalt make His soul an offering for sin.” His soul went to hell as an offering.
- His body was broken for an offering. All of this was required or God wouldn’t have done it.
- Where do souls go when they die? HEAVEN OR HELL. That’s it. His soul went to hell.
- The body of Jesus needed to arise from the tomb. The soul of Jesus needed to arise from hell.
- He was dead completely. His body was dead and His soul was dead in hell. What if He never arose?
[12] Revelation 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
- HE WAS DEAD. Jesus says so. He has the keys of death and hell because He conquered them.
- He arose from death and hell. They will call me a liar because I say Jesus was dead.
- Who wrote Revelation Chapter 1? God did. He says that Jesus was dead. Believe it or not.
- I go by His words and not by the words of vipers, serpents, and fools.
[13] Revelation 2:8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
- The false preachers will DENY all of these Holy Scriptures that are perfect and true.
- And then they attack me for using the Scriptures to form the doctrine I teach.
- They listen to men such as Ray Comfort and John MacArthur to form their doctrine.
- They listen to Scofield, Gill, Barnes, Clarke, Wesley, Calvin. I’ll choose to listen to God.
- And you can choose to listen to the men and women of this world or to God.
- I can see and believe the words of the Bible. And that’s what I’ll do.
I believe that the death of Jesus Christ on the cross saves us. I believe it is absolutely vital and necessary.
- I believe that His perfect life one earth saves us. I believe it is absolutely vital and necessary.
- I believe the broken body of Jesus Christ saves us. I believe it is absolutely vital and necessary.
- I believe that the body of Jesus Christ being buried saves us.
- I believe the soul of Jesus Christ being sent to hell as an offering for sin saves us.
- I believe the resurrection of the body of Jesus Christ saves us.
- I believe the resurrection of the soul of Jesus Christ from hell saves us.
I believe the blood of Jesus Christ being poured out for us saves us.
- I believe that the blood Jesus Christ sprinkles on the mercy seat for us saves us.
- I believe all of these things are absolutely VITAL and necessary for us to be saved.
- I do not preach that it is ONLY the death of Jesus Christ that saves us.
- The Gospel of Jesus Christ saves us. His entire life saves us. All of His works save us.
- They were all necessary and vital to Jesus saving us. Without His death on the cross we couldn’t be saved.
- Without His resurrection from the dead, we couldn’t be saved.
- Without His blood, we couldn’t be saved. THIS IS WHAT I PREACH. Now, what do the serpents teach?
Let’s use John MacArthur as an example. He says that nothing in the blood of Jesus Christ saves us.
- “It was His death only.” This is what He says: “The blood of Jesus Christ doesn’t save us.”
- And he spreads this doctrine, and that’s where these clowns who attack me get their doctrine.
- They get them from a Calvinist false preacher who can’t see or understand the words of the Bible.
- Their doctrine is weird when you compare it to the Bible. Their doctrine is “messed up.”
- Jesus is the Passover Lamb. The Bible clearly tells us this.
[14] Exodus 12:5-7 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: 6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening. 7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
- This is a picture of things to come. This is prophesying about Jesus Christ.
[15] Exodus 12:8-10 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. 9 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof. 10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.
- Roast it. Burn it with fire. It is a sweetsmelling savour unto God Almighty. What could that mean? DUH.
- The soul of Jesus Christ went to hell. Look up all the instances of hell in the Bible. It’s a place of fire.
- What happens with fire? BURNING.
[16] Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
- The soul of Jesus Christ went to hell as a sacrifice for our sins. Was that needed for us to be saved?
- If not, why in the world would this have happened? The Bible says His soul was not left in hell.
- Why in the world did God send the soul of Jesus Christ to hell with all of our sins?
- He took the penalty for our sins. If we die with sin, we will go to hell and burn. He took that penalty.
- This teaching triggers the serpents. They hate when I preach what the Bible is teaching.
- They hate when I preach that Jesus conquered death and hell.
[17] Exodus 12:11-12 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD’S passover. 12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.
- In the Lord’s Supper, we partake of the body and blood of Jesus Christ. Why in the world we do that?
- John MacArthur says we don’t need to partake of the blood of Jesus Christ.
- Do you see how they love the death of Jesus Christ? They don’t want to hear what happened afterwards.
- They don’t want to hear that HE IS RISEN FROM THE DEAD. I sure do. I am happy He arose from the dead.
I celebrate His resurrection from the dead!!! They love His death. I don’t love that He had to die for me.
- I am sorry that He had to die and suffer for me. I am thankful that He did it, or I would be going to hell.
- I thank Jesus Christ for dying for me. But I don’t have tears of joy when He died on the cross.
- I have tears of sadness when He died on the cross. When I read of His death, I am sorry for my sins.
[18] Exodus 12:13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
- When God saw the blood of the passover lamb, He passed over the houses and those people were saved.
- They were saved by the blood of the Passover lamb. They were saved by the death of the Passover lamb.
- Without the death, there would be no blood. The Passover lamb was roast with fire.
- The blood saved them. That’s what God was looking for right there in the Scriptures.
- Is the blood there? If so, they are saved. But they teach the blood of Jesus Christ is not required.
[19] 1 Peter 1:18-19 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
- I am redeemed through the precious blood of Christ. But not according to the serpents.
- They continue to be parrots: “Only the death of Jesus is required because Jesus said IT IS FINISHED.”
[20] Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
[21] Colossians 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
[22] Hebrews 9:12-14 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. 13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: 14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
- So, do you really think someone who has faith in God’s words will believe John MacArthur and his clowns?
- The Bible tells us CLEARLY over and over again that the blood of Jesus Christ forgives our sin.
- Jesus enters into the holy place, IN HEAVEN, with His blood and offers His blood for our sins.
Now, who is teaching messed up things? Is it I who is using the words of the Bible?
- Or is it these false preachers who use their own reasoning?
- When you use the wisdom of man, you look like an idiot when God’s words are seen.
- How in the world can John MacArthur say the blood of Jesus Christ doesn’t save us?
- Has he not read any of these Scriptures? I didn’t write these things. God wrote them.
- And then I get attacked for repeating God’s words and teaching what He says.
[23] 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
[24] Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
[25] Revelation 5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
- Now, is John MacArthur right? Are the serpents, vipers, fools, and idiots that go along with him right?
- Or, is God right? “And hast redeemed us to God BY THY BLOOD.”
- And they say, “NO, GOD, WE ARE RIGHT. THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST DOESN’T SAVE US.”
- They are fools. Are they not?
Other people will go too far the other direction. They will say that only the blood of Jesus Christ saves us.
- Is that true? It’s only His blood? No, His death on the cross saves us. His blood saves us.
- All of these things save us OR Jesus wouldn’t have done them.
- If His death wasn’t needed, He could have just taken some blood without His death.
- If His soul going to hell as an offering for our sins wasn’t required, why did He do it?
- If His life on earth wasn’t required, why did He do it? He didn’t have to do it like this. Did He?
- No, but He did what the Bible says He did, and He didn’t waste time. He didn’t do things in vain.
- That’s what all these serpents are saying. I say that all of the life and works of Jesus Christ save us.
[26] 1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
- When did that happen? When did Jesus get stripes?
- He was beaten and given stripes BEFORE He died on the cross.
- “By whose STRIPES ye were healed.” Do the stripes Jesus received save us or not?
- That was BEFORE His death on the cross. Was it not?
What in the world could the actual Bible be teaching us?
- ALL OF THESE THINGS THAT JESUS DID AND WENT THROUGH WERE TO SAVE US.
- THEY ARE ALL VITAL IN SAVING US. This is what I teach because this is what God says.
- Using the same flawed logic as the serpents, Jesus could have just stopped there and we would be healed.
- But He didn’t stop. He didn’t stop working after He gave up the Ghost on the cross. Did He stop?
- No, He didn’t stop there. He kept going. He had more work to do. As of today, He has more work to do.
What if Jesus doesn’t show up to give us a new body without sin?
- What if He listened to John MacArthur and just quit. “Oh, serpent John said that I was finished.”
- “I don’t need to do anything else.” Aren’t you glad that Jesus is high above serpent John?
- Aren’t you glad that Jesus continues to work? Aren’t you glad He’s going to give you a new body?
- Aren’t you glad you’ll have a new and glorious body without sin sometime in the future?
- Is that not vital to Him saving us? Let’s go through some of 1 Corinthians Chapter 15.
[27] 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
- Christ died, He was buried, and He rose again the third day.
- After these verses, the Bible tells us that He was seen of many witnesses after He arose from the dead.
[28] 1 Corinthians 15:12-14 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: 14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
- If Christ be not risen, then all of this preaching is in vain. AND YOUR FAITH IS ALSO VAIN.
- So, did Jesus Christ need to arise from the dead for us to be saved? What if He didn’t?
- Actually hear what these the false preachers are saying.
- They say that when Jesus died that it was all finished. Is that what Jesus meant?
Did He not need to arise from the dead? ANSWER THE QUESTION, SERPENTS.
- If He didn’t arise from the dead, your faith is in vain. If He didn’t arise from the dead, He would be dead.
- How is He going to save us if He is dead? But He’s not dead.
- He is alive, and He has the keys of death and hell.
[29] 1 Corinthians 15:15-17 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. 16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
- He says it again. “And if Christ be not raised, your faith is in vain, YE ARE YET IN YOUR SINS.
- In other words, you can’t be forgiven of your sins if Jesus didn’t arise from the dead.
- Now, this is what I preach. I preach what God says.
- And you’re going to tell me Jesus didn’t need to arise from the dead for us to be saved?
- But the Holy Spirit, who is God, wrote those words right there. But you know better than Him???
[30] 1 Corinthians 15:21-23 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.
- The evil little serpents can’t understand any of these words. They think they understand, “It is finished.”
- But they don’t. And they call me names and attack me because they can’t understand.
- Jesus is the firstfruits. What does that mean? He arose from the dead FIRST.
- At the second coming of Jesus Christ, we will arise from the dead and receive a new body.
- Has that happened yet? No, it’s not finished. I haven’t died yet. Jesus didn’t take me to heaven yet.
- Those are works that He will do for me. I can’t do them. He promised to do those for me.
When I take my last breath, Jesus does that work for me and saves me. Am I already saved? Yes, it is finished.
- But, obviously, there’s still work to do. He promised to save me. When I die, He will be there.
- But it hasn’t happened yet. I don’t have a new and sinless body yet. But I will in the future.
- Who is going to do that work for me? JESUS CHRIST. He’s going to give me a new body.
- He promised me a new body. I trust in Him. And He’ll give me a new body at His second coming.
[31] 1 Corinthians 15:42-44 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
- Right now I have a natural body that sins. In the future, Jesus gives me a spiritual body that doesn’t sin.
- This hasn’t happened yet because I am dying. And I must die so that I can be raised with a new body.
[32] 1 Corinthians 15:51-53 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
- Jesus had to be raised from the dead in order for this to happen for us.
- The dead shall be raised incorruptible. Jesus took all our sins onto Himself when He died.
- His soul went to hell. He defeated death and hell and has the keys to death and hell.
- He went into the fiery furnace and saved Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
The soul of Jesus is a burnt offering for our sins. His body didn’t burn in hell. His soul burned in hell.
- And He arose from the DEAD. When He died, His spirit returned to the Father.
- His soul went to hell. And His body was buried. His body did not see corruption. HIS SOUL WENT TO HELL.
- He is the propitiation for our sins. His soul burned instead of ours. We deserve that. He didn’t.
- But He did all of these things so we can be saved. We have HOPE that He will come back again.
- We can’t wait to receive this new body. This is called salvation for us. We are saved from this sinful body.
- That is a part of salvation, and we haven’t reached that point yet. There’s still work to do.
And Jesus will do all of this work. He wasn’t finished with all the work of saving us when the spirit of life left Him.
- I don’t even believe I have to go over this.
- It’s mind blowing that professing “Christians” don’t know any of this.
- It amazes me that a preacher like John MacArthur doesn’t know any of this.
- We aren’t in heaven yet. We haven’t been given a new body yet. We are still sinners in this flesh.
- Jesus hasn’t returned yet. He hasn’t saved us from this world yet. He hasn’t raptured us away.
- He hasn’t given us a new body. We haven’t been to heaven yet. We haven’t seen the new heaven.
- We haven’t seen the new earth. We have hope that Jesus will do all of these works for us. Do we not?
These false preachers TWIST the words of Jesus. He said, “IT is finished.”
- He didn’t say the sacrifice for sin was complete. He said, “IT is finished.” What did He mean?
- He was finished with the work that He had to do up to that point. His life on earth was ending.
- Instead of just saying, “IT IS FINISHED” over and over again why don’t you read the Scriptures.
[33] John 19:28-30 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. 29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. 30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
- Jesus was fulfilling the Scriptures to this point by doing these works. He said, “I THIRST.”
- He is fulfilling the Scriptures. All the work He did was fulfilling the Scriptures. He was working.
- And He was finished with the work to that point.
- But He wasn’t finished with all. He said, “IT IS FINISHED.” His death on the cross is now finished.
The sacrifice of His body is now finished. His death is now finished.
- All the works He needed to do to that point were finished. He didn’t forget to do anything.
- IT IS FINISHED. That’s what this means.
- He didn’t say the sacrifice for sins is complete and nothing else is required.
- The Bible doesn’t say anything like that ANYWHERE.
But the serpents start yelling and saying that His soul didn’t need to go to hell.
- They say His resurrection wasn’t required.
- They say His blood being offered on the mercy seat isn’t required.
- Why would they say these things when the Bible says the opposite? Why do you think?
- They are serpents. They do not hear the words of Jesus Christ.
[34] John 8:43-45 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. 44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
[35] John 8:46-47 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? 47 He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
- They don’t hear God’s words. THEY ARE NOT OF GOD. Do you understand this?
- When the Bible says the soul of Jesus Christ was not left in hell, they won’t hear it.
- When Jesus says, “It is finished,” they add all of these other meanings that aren’t there.
If you say that anything else was required for us to be saved after Jesus says, “It is finished,” they attack you.
- But I’m not the one who said it. God said it. And He says it over and over again in the Scriptures.
- So, who are they actually attacking? They attack God and His words. And that’s why I call them idiots.
- That’s why I call them fools. The definition of idiot is a stupid person or a person of low intelligence.
- You aren’t intelligent when you attack God’s words. They have no common sense.
- The words of the Bible say the soul of Jesus Christ was not left in hell. And they say, “BE QUIET.”
- “That’s not true.” A child can understand the words, but you can’t. No intelligence. No wisdom.
[36] 2 Peter 2:12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
- They don’t understand the words of the Bible. They don’t study the Bible front to back.
- They don’t attempt to figure out what Jesus meant when He said, “It is finished.”
- They don’t compare Scripture with Scripture to find the truth. They just come with their attacks.
And I will curse them in the name of the Lord. They shall utterly perish in their own corruption.
- They make up lies, and they continue to spread them.
- There’s numerous Scriptures that teach them they are wrong. But they don’t care.
- In their eyes, they are never wrong. They don’t have faith in Jesus Christ. They don’t trust His words.
- They have no idea how perfect, true, and holy the words in this Bible happen to be.
- One last example for these clowns before we close this sermon out.
Water baptism is a like figure of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- Is it not? Again, baptism is a picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- Many of these same serpents will say that we must be baptized in water to be saved.
- But I thought it was finished when Jesus died on the cross. “That’s all that is needed,” they say.
- But that’s not what they mean. They preach all kinds of other heresy to go along with it.
- They preach a works based salvation. This isn’t the only lie they teach. It’s just one of many.
If IT WAS ALL FINISHED when Jesus died on the cross, why is water baptism a picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ?
- Answer the question. Why is that? Why is there a burial? Why is there a resurrection?
- When we baptize someone, do we just throw them down into the water like they are dead in Christ.
- And then we walk away as we say, “IT IS FINISHED!!!?” Is that what we do?
- No, they go down into the water as they are dead. They are buried under the water.
- They come up out of the water in the likeness of His resurrection.
[37] Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
- We are buried with Him in baptism. Are we actually buried in a tomb? No, but the burial is VITAL.
[38] Colossians 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
- The death, burial, and resurrection are all VITAL to us being saved. I hope you can see what they’re doing.
- You need to be able to see right through their lies by knowing the Scriptures.
- If the death of Jesus was all that was needed, then we die too. We won’t arise with Him.
- They love to see that Jesus is dead. They don’t want to see Him risen because they are serpents.
- They don’t want to spread the good news that Jesus is risen from the dead.
[39] Matthew 28:5-7 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. 6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. 7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
- That’s pure joy when we find out that Jesus is risen from THE DEAD. He was dead, but He is now alive.
- They don’t want to hear about His resurrection. They want the Bible to end with His death.
- They don’t want to hear the good news that this angel brought in Matthew Chapter 28.
- Do you see their deception?
They want the Bible to say “THE END” after Jesus dies. Do you not see this? They hate Jesus Christ.
- They want Him dead. They would kill Him again. But God will take care of them. He will cast them down.
- In the meantime, though, they are sending people to hell with their false gospel.
- And they are lying to people. And they won’t stop. The words of Jesus aren’t good enough for them.
- When God casts them down to hell, all of heaven will rejoice and be glad.
- The death of Jesus Christ wasn’t the end. And that’s good news for all of us.
Let’s pray.
