[2] The title of the sermon: “IS JESUS CALLED GOD THE FATHER?”
- I received an email from a man named Lars who is a modalist believer.
- Lars tells me that I am wrong about Jesus never being called God the Father within the Bible.
- He says, “I would beg to differ here. As can be clearly seen from verses like Isaiah 9:6 where the Son is called the Father as well.”
- He says, “Also when Thomas calls Jesus my God in John 20:28, can you prove that he is not referring to the Father?”
- He says, “Jesus is called God several times and at least once Father.”
- That’s just the start of what he thinks is proof that Jesus is God the Father.
I want to talk about Modalism today because it’s spreading fast all over this world. Lars is from the Netherlands.
- And many of us here know some people who believe in modalism.
- What is this modalist belief? Modalism teaches that God is a single person who has eternally existed and yet has revealed himself in 3 different modes or forms.
- We teach, from the Scriptures, that God is one God in 3 distinct and different persons.
- We clearly see the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit all existing at the same time within the Scriptures.
- But modalists don’t believe this at all. What do they teach?
They teach that God revealed Himself as the Father in the Old Testament. The Father is the first mode.
- When Jesus was made flesh, they say that God revealed Himself as the Son. This is the second mode.
- They say that now God is in the mode of the Holy Spirit after Jesus ascended.
- Modalism rejects the fact that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit exist all at the same time.
- They deny that God is 3 distinct and different persons in one God.
- If you know the Bible, things should pop into your head immediately that proves modalism wrong.
- There is no way that anyone would believe in modalism who knows the Scriptures.
- You have to twist so many Scriptures.
Why am I preaching this? I want you to learn what Modalists believe. Oneness Pentecostals believe in this.
- When you know what someone believes, you’ll know which Scriptures should change their mind.
- But, I can tell you that you’ll have a problem. Most of them won’t talk with you.
- They are a cult much like Catholics who command their people not to talk with anyone else about God.
- Isn’t that sad? They don’t want their people to see the truth in the Scriptures.
[3] Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
- I love this Scripture. I am not afraid of this Scripture because modalists think it proves them right.
- I love it even more when a Oneness Pentecostal thinks they have us because we read this Scripture at Christmas when they are around.
- Maybe they just can’t remember all the other Scriptures that go with this.
- This verse is clearly talking about Jesus Christ and the names He will be called.
- He will be called Wonderful, Counseller, The Mighty God, The everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.
- So, let’s focus on “THE EVERLASTING FATHER.”
- Modalists think this verse is saying that Jesus is God the Father. Is that what this verse is saying?
- Again, I teach that Jesus is NEVER called God the Father within the Bible. NOT ONCE.
Jesus is the everlasting Father or Father of everlasting. Everlasting life only comes through the Savior of the world.
- He is not God the Father. He is the Son of God. He is God the Son. So, what does this verse mean?
- We would compare Scriptures with Scriptures. THE EVERLASTING FATHER or FATHER OF EVERLASTING.
- Why would Jesus be called a name like this?
- Please pay close attention to what I am going to show you here in Isaiah Chapter 8.
[4] Isaiah 8:16-18 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples. 17 And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him. 18 Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.
- Who is speaking here? You can go through the entire chapter. Jesus Christ is speaking here.
- “And I will wait upon the Lord, that hideth His face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for Him.”
- Please see what verse 18 says. “Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts., which dwelleth in Mount Zion.”
Jesus Christ just said that “I and the children whom the Lord hath given me.”
- Jesus Christ is our Father and we are His children, but He is not God the Father.
- You can see 2 different persons in these Scriptures too. Do you not see this?
- Jesus says, “The Lord is giving me these children.” Jesus is a Father to us. Do you not understand that?
- We are His children. And notice that this is just one chapter BEFORE Isaiah Chapter 9.
- How do I know for sure that these are the words of Jesus? The New Testament tells us this.
[5] Hebrews 2:10-13 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, 12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. 13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.
- Jesus says, “And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.”
- We are called the sons of God or the sons of Jesus Christ because He has begotten us.
- We are only saved and given everlasting life through Him.
- Therefore, He would be called the everlasting Father. I am only alive right now because of my Father.
- I only have everlasting life because of my Father.
[6] John 10:28-30 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and my Father are one.
- Yes, we believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that God the Father is His Father.
- The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are one God. But who does everlasting life come from?
- These are the words of Jesus Christ in John Chapter 10. “And I give unto them eternal life.”
- Who gives eternal life to us? The Son of God who is Jesus Christ gives us eternal life.
- We are the children of Jesus Christ because He gives us everlasting life through faith in Him alone.
- This is the moment we become His children and the children of God.
Jesus Christ is clearly telling us that they are different persons right here. He says, “My Father gave them me.”
- “My Father is greater than all.” No man is able to pluck them out of the hand of Jesus Christ.
- No man is able to pluck them out of the hand of His Father who is greater than all.
[7] John 6:27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
- We are told over and over again that everlasting life comes through Jesus Christ.
- This means He is the Father of everlasting life or the Father of everlasting.
- If you want everlasting life, you must go through the Father of everlasting life
- OR, you must go to the owner of everlasting life.
[8] John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
- I could keep going for a long time with Scriptures that show Jesus gives everlasting life.
- He is in control of the gift of God because His Father gave Him this to do. Jesus is the everlasting Father.
[9] Genesis 17:5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
[10] Romans 4:16-17 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, 17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
- Abraham is called our father. He is a father of many nations.
- He believed and it was accounted unto him for righteousness. He received everlasting life through Jesus.
- Abraham is the father of us all. Why? Because we believe just as he believed.
- But Abraham is not God the Father. He is called a father throughout the Bible.
- My dad is called a father. I am called a father. But we are not God the Father.
- Jesus Christ is not God the Father, and He is never once called God the Father.
[11] Isaiah 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
- Are there not 2 different persons being spoken of here?
- THE LORD is the first person shown here. Jesus Christ is the second person shown here.
- If you can’t see this, you must be blinded. It’s everywhere all throughout the Bible.
- But modalists don’t believe that God exists in 3 persons that all exist simultaneously.
[12] 1 John 5:6-9 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. 7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. 9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
- For there are THREE that bear record in heaven: 1) THE FATHER, 2) THE WORD, 3) THE HOLY GHOST.
- But, of course, the modalists will say that this verse doesn’t belong in the perfect word of God.
- They like to delete Scriptures that don’t fit with their false doctrine or false teaching.
- I was told by Lars that Jesus is never called God the Son. He tells me that Thomas calls Jesus God.
- How could I prove that Thomas didn’t mean that He was calling Jesus God the Father?
- Well, let’s see and go to that Scripture in John Chapter 20. Just read the Bible.
[13] John 20:26-28 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. 27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. 28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
- Thomas calls Jesus, “My Lord and my God.” We call Jesus, “Our Lord and our God.”
- But let’s not stop reading there in John Chapter 20.
[14] John 20:29-31 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. 30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
- That’s the end of John Chapter 20. What does the Bible say in verse 31?
- “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.”
- “And that believing ye might have life through his name.”
How many times does the Bible call Jesus the Son of God? The exact words God the Son aren’t there.
- But are God the Son and the Son of God not equal when we know Jesus is God?
- Thomas just called Jesus God and Jesus didn’t rebuke Him because it is the truth.
- The Son of God who is God would be referred to as God the Son when talking about the nature of God.
- The phrase “Son of God” is in the Bible 48 times in 47 verses.
[15] 1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
- God the Father didn’t come. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to be the Savior of the world.
- “WE ARE IN HIM THAT IS TRUE, EVEN IN HIS SON JESUS CHRIST.” This is the true God and eternal life.
- If we were made by Jesus Christ, through Jesus Christ, and for Jesus Christ, He would be a father to us.
- But He is not the person of God the Father. This is 100% clear throughout the Bible.
- The exact phrase God the Father is in the Bible 13 times.
[16] John 6:27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
- This is the first time the phrase God the Father is in the Bible. Who is speaking here? JESUS CHRIST.
- Is this a trick in the Bible? This Scripture is telling us that there are two different people.
- Jesus is telling us that He is the Son of man. He is telling us that God the Father has sealed HIM.
- Why? So that the Son of God can give unto you everlasting life. He is the father of everlasting life.
- Salvation comes through Jesus Christ. There is no one else that gives everlasting life.
- And God the Father trusts Jesus Christ, His Son, to get the job done.
[17] 1 Corinthians 8:4-6 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one. 5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) 6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
- The Bible tells us over and over again that there is one God, but obviously there is more than one person.
- Three persons in one God. God, the Father, and one Lord Jesus Christ.
[18] 1 Peter 1:2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
- There’s all 3 of them right there.
- Does only one mode of them show up at only one time throughout the Bible?
- Or, do they show up at the same time proving that God doesn’t show up in one mode at a time?
[19] 2 Peter 1:16-18 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
- Here are the eyewitnesses the Bible says. “For He received from God the Father honour and glory.”
- “There came such a voice to Him from the excellent glory.” What did the voice say?
- “THIS IS MY BELOVED SON.” Jesus is the Son of God, Son of God, Son of God.
- How many times does God repeat this and they just won’t listen?
- “THIS IS MY BELOVED SON IN WHOM I AM WELL PLEASED.”
What do the EYEWITNESSES SAY?
- “And this is the voice which CAME FROM HEAVEN when we were with Him in the holy mount.”
- They were with Jesus in the mount. A voice came from heaven saying this is my beloved Son.
- The voice did not come from Jesus Christ who was standing there with them.
- Listen, again, God is not trying to trick you. The phrase God the Father is right there.
- God the Father says: “This is my beloved Son.” We know Jesus is God too. He is God the Son.
- He is not God the Father, and He is never ONCE called God the Father in the Bible.
- He never once says Himself that He is God the Father.
Does the Bible show all 3 persons of God together in the same place at the same time?
- The modalists will say that is impossible because God only exists in one mode at any given time.
- Do you all remember any Scriptures where all 3 persons of God are there at the exact same time?
[20] Matthew 3:16-17 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
- There’s Jesus on earth. He is being baptized. The Spirit of God descends and lights upon Him.
- A voice comes from heaven saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
- There are all 3 persons of God, ONE GOD, right here in this Scripture.
- If you can’t see that all 3 exist at the same time, then you have a real mental problem.
[21] Psalm 2:7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
- The Lord hath said unto me. “THOU ART MY SON.” So, when do so many people lose their minds?
- Number 1 person here is THE LORD. 1) He said unto 2) me. There’s 2 different people there.
- “THOU ART MY SON.” 1) Thou, talking about Jesus, art 2) My, talking about His Father, Son.
- God the Father is talking to His Son. “Thou are my Son.” Modalism is lunacy. LUNATICS. Wake up.
So, the modalists say that only the mode of God the Father is in the Old Testament.
- They say that only the mode of the Son of God is when Jesus is on earth in His flesh.
- They say that only the mode of the Holy Spirit exists right now.
- Now, can any of that be disproved with the Scriptures rather easily? Yes, very easily.
- How many times? HUNDREDS OF TIMES. How many would it take?
[22] John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
- No man hath seen God at any time. Obviously, people have seen Jesus Christ. EYEWITNESSES.
- He came to earth. He was seen. But God the Father has never been seen at any time.
- If God the Father was the mode in the Old Testament then He would have never been seen.
- If the modalists are correct, we should never have any instance of God being seen in the Old Testament.
[23] Genesis 32:30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.
- Jacob wrestled with Jesus Christ. Who else could this be? Was God the Father a masked wrestler?
- Jacob says, “I have seen God face to face.” How can you wrestle with someone and not see their face?
[24] Exodus 33:11 And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.
- As a man speaks to his friend, Moses spoke to the Lord in the same manner.
- There are other examples in the Old Testament of people seeing God. So, who was it?
- No man hath seen God the Father. The Scriptures clearly teach us this.
- So, that leaves Jesus Christ, and we know people have seen Jesus Christ face to face.
- The truth is that all 3 persons of God exist eternally at all times. They are not 3 different modes.
The modalists teach that God is now in the Holy Spirit mode.
- This means you wouldn’t find the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament, or before Jesus Christ ascended.
- Does that sound right to you? How many times is the Holy Spirit seen before Jesus ascended into heaven?
- How can anyone believe in modalism? Genesis to Revelation proves them wrong.
[25] Genesis 1:1-2 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
- The Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, moved upon the face of the waters in the second verse of all the Bible.
- But they say the Holy Spirit mode doesn’t occur until Jesus ascended into heaven.
- There are hundreds of instances of the Holy Spirit before Jesus ascended into heaven.
[26] Job 33:4 The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
- The Holy Spirit created us. The Holy Spirit is the breath of the Almighty. He gives life.
- The modalists are saying NO to what the Bible says.
[27] Ezekiel 11:24 Afterwards the spirit took me up, and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me.
- Think about that. In the Old Testament, they deny the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ.
- Throughout the first coming of Jesus Christ, they deny God the Father and the Holy Spirit.
- Now, they deny God the Father and Jesus Christ as if they don’t exist right now.
- God is using a different mode so the Father and the Son do not exist in today’s world according to them.
- How was the Bible written? Through the Holy Spirit of God.
- How if He wasn’t the mode in the Old Testament?
Is the Holy Spirit there throughout the first coming of Jesus Christ? Jesus was conceived by the Holy Ghost.
- When Jesus was a baby in His mother’s womb, are you telling me that God the Father didn’t exist?
- Are you telling me that the Holy Spirit didn’t exist? What are you teaching, modalists?
- You are very confused. I can assure you that I am not confused.
- When Jesus was growing in stature and wisdom as a child, where was God the Father?
- Where was the Holy Spirit? They will teach that they weren’t around because Jesus in only one person.
[28] John 3:34-36 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. 35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. 36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
- Jesus Christ, the Son of God, had the full measure of the Holy Spirit. But modalists say that’s not possible.
- How would Jesus have the full measure of the Spirit of God if the Spirit of God mode wasn’t in play?
- Jesus Christ tells you Himself that He is the Son of God and God over and over again.
- But you won’t believe what He says, modalists. You call Jesus Christ, the Son of God, a liar.
- You deny Him. You say that He wasn’t doing anything in the Old Testament because His “mode” wasn’t active then.
[29] 1 John 2:22-24 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. 24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
- Modalists acknowledge the Father and the Son as 2 different modes.
- They are not 2 different modes of God. They are 2 different persons of God.
- They exist at all times, eternally, as God the Father and the Son of God. 2 different persons.
- If you deny the Son of God in the Old Testament, you are denying the Son.
- If you deny the Son of God right now, you are denying the Son.
- If you deny the Father at the first coming of Jesus Christ, you are denying the Father.
- If you deny the Father right now, you are denying the Father.
Listen, maybe they don’t understand what they’re actually saying but denying that God the Father is in heaven right now on His Throne is a big deal.
- If you deny that the Son of God is on another throne in heaven right now, this is a big deal.
- They say that God only exists right now in the mode of the Holy Spirit.
- This is highly dangerous. This is blasphemy against God. This is horrible. Understand that.
- This isn’t something small. Would you DARE to say that Jesus Christ isn’t in heaven right now?
- Would you dare to day that God the Father isn’t in heaven right now?
Are they on vacation? Are they sleeping? Are they talking? Do they need to be awaked?
- Modalists, 100% for sure, do not have the same God as we do. We have the God of the Bible.
- Their Jesus is not Christ because they would need to wake him up. They say his mode is not active now.
- Their version of God the Father isn’t active right now. They would need to wake him up.
- Their mode changing God is always changing, but God says: “I CHANGE NOT.”
Let me read you what Lars stated this when trying to convince me to believe in Modalism. He says this:
- “Just one Lord is sitting on the throne in Revelation 4:2, and He is both Lamb of God as well as God.”
- This what Lars says. But did Lars really pay attention to what happens in Revelation 4 and 5?
- Modalists and Oneness Pentecostals get stuck on this ONE THRONE thing in Revelation Chapter 4.
- Let’s take a look at this.
[30] Revelation 4:1-2 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. 2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.
- If you continue reading Revelation Chapter 4 and Revelation Chapter 5, you’ll see this is God the Father sitting on the throne.
- But the modalists will say that there is only one throne in heaven and Jesus is sitting on this throne.
- Now, picture this. THERE IS ONE SITTING ON THIS THRONE. Let’s continue into Revelation Chapter 5.
[31] Revelation 5:1-3 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? 3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
- In the right hand of Him that sat on the throne is a book with seven seals.
- The angel asks, “Who is worthy to open this book?”
- And remember, this book is the right hand of whoever is sitting on the throne.
- Modalists will say that Jesus Christ is sitting on the throne.
- I will say that God the Father is sitting on the throne. You can decide for yourself who is right here.
[32] Revelation 5:4-5 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. 5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
- Hold on, someone is able to open the book who is not sitting on the throne. Who could it be?
[33] Revelation 5:6-7 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. 7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.
- The Lamb of God, who was slain, comes and takes the book out of the right hand of Him that sat upon the throne.
- Did He take it from Himself? Is that what the Bible says? Did I miss that part? I didn’t miss it. NOT THERE.
- Jesus Christ wasn’t sitting on the throne at this moment. Who was sitting there? GOD THE FATHER!
[34] Revelation 5:13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
- Glory to Him that sits upon the throne AND unto the Lamb for ever and ever. BOTH OF THEM.
- They live forever and ever. God the Father was sitting on the throne.
- Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Lamb of God, comes and takes the book out of His Father’s hand.
- There is no one else who can do this, and He didn’t take it from Himself.
- Is there only one throne in heaven as the modalists attempt to say with their blindness of Scriptures?
- Does Revelation Chapter 4 say the throne God the Father is sitting on is the only throne? NO, IT DOESN’T.
[35] Revelation 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
- The Father has His throne, and the Son of God has His throne. This is the throne of God.
[36] Revelation 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
- But is there only one throne in heaven?
[37] Luke 22:30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
[38] Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
- There’s more than one throne in heaven, obviously. But the Son of God sits in the throne of God.
- Jesus is set down with His Father in His throne. Is that difficult to understand? No, it isn’t hard.
[39] Mark 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
[40] Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
[41] Hebrews 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
[42] 1 Peter 3:22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
- He is not God the Father, but He sits in the throne of God. He is on the right hand of God.
- This is what the Bible teaches us. Jesus is not the Father, but He is God.
[43] John 6:38-40 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. 39 And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
- Jesus says HIMSELF, “I came not to do mine own will.” He is not God the Father.
- Why is this so difficult to believe? Modalists are blinded by an idiotic false doctrine. That’s why.
- Jesus Christ was sent by someone else. Who? His Father. That’s who. Is that difficult to believe or to see?
- There is more than one. There are 3 that bear record in heaven.
- Whose soul went to hell? The soul of Jesus Christ went to hell. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was dead.
[44] Revelation 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
- God teaches us who He is from Genesis to Revelation, and 3 persons in one God is the truth.
- You can’t explain the Scriptures in any other way.
[45] Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
- Don’t miss this verse. God says, “Let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness.”
- We aren’t made after the likeness of angels who are spirits with multiple wings and multiple faces.
- I don’t have wings. I don’t have more than one face.
The Bible says: “AND GOD SAID, let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness.” PLURAL.
- Modalists attempt to say God was talking to the angels here. The angels don’t create anything.
- They aren’t the Creator of all things. God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are the CREATOR.
- The modalists can’t answer this without lies. Use the Scriptures. They can’t. We can, though.
We know that Jesus Christ is not God the Father. The name of God the Father is not Jesus Christ.
- The name of the Holy Spirit is not Jesus Christ.
- The word God in the Old Testament is a plural word most of the time.
- You’ll find 2606 instances of the word God in a plural Hebrew word, ELOHEEM, in the Old Testament.
- Why would God use a plural word to describe Himself?
- All 3 persons of God exist eternally together as ONE GOD.
- Jesus Christ is the Son of God and is not God the Father. Stop denying all 3 of them.
You will go to hell if you don’t believe on the Son of God who exists separately from God the Father and the Holy Spirit.
- You have a different Jesus. You preach a different Gospel. You preach works to be saved.
- You are way off from the straight and narrow path. I preach this in hopes a Modalist will change HIS mind.
- I preach this in hopes that a Modalist will change HER mind.
- But most will listen to a few seconds and close the page, sermon, or video. But we pray they don’t.
Let’s pray.
