[2] The title of the sermon: “THE PENTECOSTAL PROCESS OF SALVATION.”

Is The Pentecostal Process Of Salvation Found In The Book Of Acts As They Claim?

  • The Pentecostals tell me that there is a process to salvation within the Book of Acts.
  • They tell me that the process to salvation is NEW in Acts Chapter 2.
  • I want to show you what they do so you can clearly understand this today.

[3] Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

  • They are teaching people that “BEGINNING AT JERUSALEM” means that this is a new way to salvation.
  • This new way of salvation starts in Jerusalem. And when does this new way of salvation begin?
  • They say this new process of salvation begins in Acts Chapter 2 while they are IN JERUSALEM.

Now, what does Luke Chapter 24 verse 47 actually say right there without twisting the Scriptures?

  • Jesus is giving the disciples instructions on what to do next. Jesus has risen from the dead.
  • In Luke Chapter 24, Jesus has risen from the dead.

[4] Luke 24:33-36 And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them, 34 Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon. 35 And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread. 36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

[5] Luke 24:37-40 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. 38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? 39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. 40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.

  • So, look, this is the chapter where Jesus is risen from the dead.
  • These men thought Jesus was the Messiah before He died on the cross.
  • After He died, they were sad and questioning their beliefs. They didn’t think He would die.
  • But now He shows up on the day that He arose from the dead.
  • This is the third day from His death. He’s not dead. Let’s move down to verse 44.

[6] Luke 24:44-46 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. 45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, 46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

[7] Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

  • Now did Jesus mean that repentance and remission of sins would be the new way to salvation?
  • Did Jesus say that repenting of sin and being baptized in water would be the new way to salvation?
  • Did Jesus mention that you would have to pray to receive the Holy Spirit and speak in babble three times to be saved and this would be the new way of salvation starting in Acts Chapter 2?

Pentecostals believe this trash. I want you to know their process to salvation that they preach and teach.

  • And it’s a very complicated process. It’s not simple at all. Here is their process to salvation.
  • So, we’re going to take their process of salvation and look through the Book of Acts.
  • We want to see if we can find one example that matches their process of salvation.

Here’s The Pentecostal Way To Heaven

The Pentecostal process of salvation:

  1. Repent of your sin and turn from all your sin.
  2. Have so-called “faith” in Jesus Christ.
  3. Be baptized in water in the NAME of Jesus Christ.
  4. Pray for the Holy Spirit to come upon you.
  5. Speak in tongues three different times.
  6. Then you are saved but you must obey God the rest of your life to be saved.
  7. You can lose salvation if you don’t obey God.

Now, listen, this is their process of salvation and they say this new way of salvation started in Acts Chapter 2.

  • We’re going to look closely at this today so you aren’t deceived.
  • And we’re also going through this so some Pentecostals might actually listen to this sermon and be saved.
  • Let me be clear. If they believe this process will lead to salvation, they will not be saved.
  • This means they have never put their faith “IN” Jesus Christ.
  • Let’s see if repentance for remission of sins was FIRST preached in Jerusalem.
  • Was Acts Chapter 2 the first time repentance for salvation or repentance for remission of sins was preached?

[8] Matthew 3:1-2 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, 2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

  • This was long before Acts Chapter 2. John the Baptist is preaching repentance.
  • Jesus comes to John the Baptist to be baptized in Matthew Chapter 3. Again, long before Acts Chapter 2.

[9] Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

  • Now we see Jesus preaching to repent.

[10] Matthew 9:13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

  • Obviously, John the Baptist and Jesus Christ were already preaching repentance prior to Acts Chapter 2.
  • Right? Were they not? What were they preaching?
  • Were they preaching to repent of your sin for remission of those sins?
  • Does Jesus Christ ever once preach that repenting of your sin will give you remission of those sins?
  • Must you turn from all your sin to be saved? Is that what John the Baptist was preaching?
  • Is that what the word repent means for salvation?

[11] Matthew 21:32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

  • Jesus preaches this right here. These are His exact words.
  • “And ye, when ye had seen it, REPENTED not afterward, that ye might believe him.”
  • Repentance for salvation is a change of mind to believing in something.

[12] Mark 1:4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

  • John the Baptist preached the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
  • This was long before Acts Chapter 2. This is at the beginning of Mark Chapter 1.

[13] Mark 1:14-15 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

  • This is Mark Chapter 1 again. Jesus says, “Repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
  • In other words, CHANGE YOUR MIND and believe the Gospel.
  • The word repent has different definitions as given throughout the Bible.
  • But repentance for salvation is shown right there. Repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Repentance For Salvation Is Changing Your Mind And Believing On Jesus Christ

Change your mind about Jesus Christ and believe that He alone is the Savior of the world.

  • John the Baptist preached the right things. What did he preach?
  • He said, “Hey people, THIS MAN is the Lamb of God who taketh away the sins of the world.”
  • He didn’t preach that you must do this work and that work to be saved.
  • He preached that you need to believe on THIS MAN who is Jesus Christ. And Christ is Savior.

[14] Acts 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

  • John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance. What does this mean? Baptism of repentance.
  • If you are saved, you’ll know what it means. You are fully immersed in believing on Jesus alone.
  • It’s all Jesus Christ that saved you. Baptism is a full immersion in something.

Baptism in water means you are fully surrounded by the water.

  • Baptism in the Holy Ghost means you are fully surrounded by the Holy Ghost.
  • The baptism of repentance means you are fully immersed in believing on Jesus Christ.
  • What did John the Baptist preach unto the people? What does the verse say?
  • “That they should believe on Him which should come after him, that is, ON Christ Jesus.
  • This is what saves you and gives you remission of sins. You fully believe ON Jesus Christ.
  • That’s what baptism of repentance means. It’s a full and complete change of mind.

So, is repentance for remission of sins FIRST preached in Jerusalem in Acts Chapter 2?

  • NO!!! It’s not but the Pentecostals will continue to preach that it was new in Acts Chapter 2.
  • Hey Pentecostals out there, wake up? This is not something new.
  • Salvation has been the same since Adam and Eve were here. And it’s the same right now.

[15] Mark 6:7-9 And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits; 8 And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse: 9 But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats.

[16] Mark 6:10-11 And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place. 11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

[17] Mark 6:12 And they went out, and preached that men should repent.

  • There it is again. The disciples, long before Acts Chapter 2, were preaching repentance.

[18] Luke 3:3 And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;

  • Pentecostals, I though you said Jesus meant that repentance for the remission of sins would FIRST be preached in Jerusalem?
  • Obviously, Jesus meant that the disciples should now go to Jerusalem FIRST and start preaching.
  • What would they preach? THE SAME THING THEY’VE BEEN PREACHING.
  • They would preach repentance for the remission of sins. And this doesn’t mean repent of your sin.
  • This doesn’t mean turn from all your sin. This doesn’t mean you must stop sinning to be saved.
  • Does repenting of sin actually give you remission of sins and save you?

[19] Matthew 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

  • Now, does remission of sins comes from REPENTING OF SIN? Read that again. NO, IT DOESN’T.
  • The blood of Jesus Christ is shed for the remission of sins.
  • When you think that a work you do actually forgives sin, you’ve forgotten the most important thing.
  • The blood of Jesus Christ forgives your soul of all sin IF you believe on HIM ALONE.

[20] Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

  • There’s the Book of Acts right here. This is after Acts Chapter 2.
  • THROUGH HIS NAME whosoever BELIEVETH in Him shall receive remission of sins.
  • Repenting of sin, being baptized in water, praying for the Holy Spirit, and speaking in babble isn’t mentioned there.
  • Who receives remission of sins? ANYONE who believes ON the Lord Jesus Christ.

[21] Romans 3:24-26 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

  • Remission of sins is mentioned here.
  • The Pentecostals tell me that the plan of salvation isn’t in ANY of the letters that Paul wrote.
  • This is what they teach people and it’s sick, evil, wicked, and nasty. Makes me want to vomit.
  • Is the plan of salvation written in Romans? This is after Acts Chapter 2.
  • Of course the plan of salvation is in the Book of Romans. It’s right there.

Remission Of Sins Occurs Once We Believe On Jesus Christ

We receive remission of sins in our soul at the moment we believe on Jesus Christ. This is what faith does.

  • THROUGH FAITH IN HIS BLOOD. Faith in Jesus Christ is not believing that repenting of sins saves you.
  • Faith in Jesus Christ is not believing that water baptism is a part of salvation.
  • We declare His righteousness. We don’t declare the righteousness of our good works.
  • We don’t have any good works without the righteousness of Jesus Christ imputed unto us.
  • Jesus is the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

[22] Romans 3:27-28 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

  • Jesus commanded us to be baptized in water. Would that qualify as a deed of the law?
  • It’s a deed. It’s a work. You have to move to do it. You have to get someone to baptize you.
  • It takes work. But the Holy Spirit says, “WE CONCLUDE that a man is justified by FAITH without the deeds of the law.”
  • Remission of sins comes through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
  • He’s finished all the work for salvation. You cannot work for salvation.

[23] Hebrews 10:17-20 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. 18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. 19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

  • Where there is remission of sins, there is no more offering for sin. If I have been forgiven, I am forgiven.
  • When I am set free, I am free indeed. The Son of God has made me free. I am free indeed.
  • I don’t need to continue to do works as offerings for sin.
  • I don’t need to continue to repent of sin to make it to heaven.
  • I should repent of sin now to continue to follow Jesus Christ. But this doesn’t save me.

Repenting of sin is not a part of salvation. Believing on Jesus Christ is the only thing that saves me.

  • The blood of Jesus Christ saves me. BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS. This is not difficult to understand.
  • This is very, very simple and very, very clear.
  • “Whosoever believeth in Him shall receive remission of sins.” Baptism in water is not a part of it.
  • So, we know that repentance for remission of sins was preached long before Acts Chapter 2.

[24] Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

  • Did Peter get confused between verse 21 and verse 38? He was speaking through the Holy Ghost.
  • Did God get confused from verse 21 to verse 38? What does verse 21 say?
  • “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

[25] Psalm 86:5 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

[26] Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

  • Was this something new? No, calling upon THE LORD has been preached for a long time.
  • Salvation is the same from Genesis to Revelation for every single person. It has not changed.

[27] Romans 10:12-14 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

  • You cannot call upon the name of the Lord unless you have believed on the Lord. He says so.
  • The believing on the Lord part is what saves you.

[28] 1 Corinthians 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

  • We call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord to save us. We don’t call up our water baptism.
  • “Water baptism, can you hear me? Please save me oh great water baptism.”
  • Will water baptism come alive and save you? Does your water baptism have a name?
  • Is your work of repenting of sin alive? Can you call upon your repenting of sin? NO, YOU CAN’T.

[29] Genesis 4:26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.

  • That’s all the way back to Genesis Chapter 4. Men were calling upon the name of the Lord.

[30] Psalm 116:13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.

  • Nothing else was required in the Old Testament to be saved. FAITH ALONE saved them.
  • So, let’s look closer at the Pentecostal process of salvation in the Book of Acts.
  • Remember, they say that this process includes repenting of sin, faith, water baptism, praying for the Holy Spirit, and speaking in tongues three times.
  • Let’s see what happened in Acts Chapter 2, which is their go to chapter that they can’t even clearly read.
  • What was the order of events in Acts Chapter 2? It should match their salvation process exactly.
  • I mean, this is where they get their process of salvation, supposedly.
  • This is their NEW PROCESS OF SALVATION. So, we should find it laid out clearly and easily in Acts 2.

What Happened In Acts Chapter 2? Read It Yourself And Write Down The Order.

I’m going to give you a quick recap of Acts Chapter 2.

  • You can read it again for yourself and compare to this summary.
  • Day of Pentecost was fully come. This is 50 days after Jesus Christ arose from the dead.
  • They were all with one accord in one place.
  • The Holy Ghost comes and fills the house where they are sitting.
  • Tongues of fire sat upon each of them. They are all filled with the Holy Ghost.

Notice that the Holy Ghost comes before all the people were baptized.

  • This isn’t matching their process of salvation. He came first, they spake with other tongues or languages.
  • The Bible doesn’t show one example of someone speaking babble and calling it a heavenly language.
  • Booble, dooble, rooble, snooble, tooble is not a heavenly language.

[31] Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

  • Tongues are languages as defined within the Bible. Study it yourself, and you’ll clearly see this.
  • They spoke with OTHER TONGUES. This happened before all the people were baptized.
  • Then what happens in Acts Chapter 2? Devout men from every nation came together in Jerusalem.
  • They could hear the Galileans speaking in their own tongues.
  • For example, someone from China today would hear me speaking in Chinese even though I am actually speaking in English.

[32] Acts 2:9-11 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

  • For example, they could hear Peter speaking in their own language. Why was this?
  • So the Gospel of Jesus Christ could be spread. So people could be saved.
  • There was a lot of confounded people there at this time. People mocked them.
  • They said, “These people are full of new wine.” It wasn’t because they spoke in babbling foolish talk.
  • It was because of the miracle that was happening. People couldn’t believe it.
  • So, we seen the Holy Ghost come upon these people with power.

Peter was already a saved man and had the indwelling of the Holy Ghost.

  • I’ve been told that this isn’t true by the Pentecostals. Well, let’s see who is telling the truth.
  • Did Peter already have the indwelling of the Holy Ghost prior to Acts Chapter 2 or not?
  • I say yes. And the Pentecostals say no. But they have millions of followers. I don’t. They must be right.
  • WRONG. Let’s see what God actually says.

[33] John 20:19-20 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. 20 And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.

  • This is the day that Jesus arose from the dead. This is 50 days prior to Acts Chapter 2.
  • So, this is 50 days BEFORE Acts Chapter 2. Is it not? YES IT IS.
  • Jesus shows up to the disciples. Was Peter there? Let’s see.

[34] John 20:21-23 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: 23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

  • Jesus breathes on them and tells them to receive the Holy Ghost.
  • When He breathed on them, do you think they received the Holy Ghost or not?
  • Was Jesus playing games with us here?
  • The Pentecostals say that they didn’t receive the Holy Ghost right here in John Chapter 20.

Jesus Says They Received The Holy Ghost In John Chapter 20 But Pentecostals Call Him A Liar

Do you believe that? Ask them directly. They will say, “No, they didn’t receive the Holy Ghost.”

  • But Jesus breathes on them and says, “RECEIVE YE THE HOLY GHOST.”
  • But you say, “Oh no, that didn’t happen.” Why? Because it doesn’t fit your Acts Chapter 2 fairy tale.
  • Your Acts Chapter 2 fairy tale doesn’t exist. It doesn’t happen the way that you say it happens.
  • It actually happened the way God says it happened.
  • So, did Peter have the indwelling of the Holy Ghost before he stood up to preach in Acts Chapter 2?

[35] John 20:24-25 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.

  • Thomas was not with them but the other disciples were. Peter was there.
  • Jesus breathed on Peter and gave him the indwelling of the Holy Ghost 50 days prior to Acts Chapter 2.
  • If you want to call me a liar for that, you’re calling God the liar because He says so right there.
  • And then you profess to have the Holy Spirit within you? But you call Him a liar? He is God Almighty?
  • Are you sure you have the Spirit of God within you? Are you sure it’s not some other spirit?
  • God’s Spirit doesn’t make you look like a babbling fool that falls on the ground and shakes.
  • That’s not the Holy Spirit. That’s some other spirit. Understand that. No examples of that in the Bible.

What happens next in Acts Chapter 2? Peter stands up to preach. He has the indwelling of the Holy Ghost.

  • And the Holy Ghost has come upon him with power. He stands up BOLDLY to preach.
  • He preaches that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
  • He preaches Jesus of Nazareth. He tells them they have crucified the Savior.
  • But God raised up the Savior from the dead. He preaches that the soul of Jesus Christ was not left in hell.
  • He says we are all witnesses that God raised up Jesus from the dead. They’ve seen it with their eyes.

[36] Acts 2:36-37 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. 37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

  • Peter preaches: “Ye have crucified the Lord and Christ.” They were pricked in their heart.
  • Does this say they turned from all their sin? Does this say they repented of ALL THEIR SIN?
  • Does it? Do you want to add to the Scriptures? Do you want to take away from the Scriptures?
  • If so, you are 100%, without a doubt, evil. You need to repent of that sin right now.
  • Hear God’s words. Don’t add to them. Don’t take away from them.
  • What do they say in verse 37 right there? “Men and brethren, what SHALL we do?”
  • I’ve been told that it says, “WHAT MUST WE DO TO BE SAVED?” That’s not what it says.
  • Acts Chapter 16 asks the question, “What must I do to be saved?”

[37] Acts 16:29-31 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, 30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

[38] Acts 16:32-34 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. 34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

  • This prison keeper was saved right here. What must I do to be saved?
  • What was the answer? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.
  • After they believed and were saved, they were baptized in water. AFTER THEY WERE SAVED.
  • The Bible says, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.”
  • I don’t see these people repenting of all their sin, being baptized in water, praying for the Holy Ghost, speaking in “tongues” three times, and flopping on the floor like an idiot.

The Pentecostal Plan Of Salvation Isn’t Even Found In Acts Chapter 2

The Book of Acts, which they say supports their process of salvation, doesn’t have their plan of salvation.

  • They heard the preaching of Jesus Christ, they believed, they were baptized in water, and they rejoiced.
  • They were saved for good. SAVED. Past tense. The Bible doesn’t say they lost their salvation later on.
  • “Well, this was a feel good story but it actually ended when they went to hell for not obeying every word of God.”
  • Why doesn’t this example match their plan of salvation? Why doesn’t Acts Chapter 2 match it?
  • In Acts Chapter 2, we see the Holy Ghost coming upon the people with power FIRST.
  • Then we see Peter preaching Jesus Christ. Let’s keep going to see what happens next.

[39] Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

  • Peter preached to them to REPENT. There is a comma before REPENT and after REPENT.
  • Pause right there. Comma Repent Comma. Let’s stop there.
  • We already know what Repent means for salvation. We already know how we receive remission of sins.
  • THE BOOK OF ACTS tells us. We went over this earlier.
  • Acts 10:43 says: “To him give all the prophets witness, that through His name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.”

Does Acts 2:38 contradict Acts 10:43? No, it doesn’t. The Pentecostals have made their version of it contradict.

  • My version, which is the correct version based on the Scriptures, doesn’t contradict AT ALL.
  • Repent for salvation is changing your mind and believing on Jesus Christ. The Scriptures say so.
  • This is what John the Baptist preached. REPENT equals change your mind and believe on Jesus.
  • Peter just said that Jesus is the Christ, and you killed Him. What should we do?
  • Repent. Change your mind and believe on that man named Jesus CHRIST.
  • And after you have repented and believed on Jesus Christ, what should you do?

WHAT SHALL WE DO? Repent stands alone for salvation and this doesn’t mean repent of all your sin.

  • The words there don’t say repent of your sin. It says, “REPENT.”
  • This is what John the Baptist was preaching and this is what Jesus Christ was preaching. Same thing.
  • What’s next? Be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ.
  • Not in your name. In the name of Jesus Christ. You believe in HIM and HIS WORKS. Not yours.
  • Be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ FOR the remission of sins.

If water baptism saved you, would this “version” from the Pentecostals contradict the rest of the Bible?

  • Yes, it would. The word FOR has different definitions. BECAUSE OF is one of those definitions.
  • The Pentecostals say, “But I know Greek and the original Greek word doesn’t mean because of.”
  • Really??? Do you know Greek? The King James translators put the word FOR right there.
  • And you should be baptized because of the remission of sins.

Repentance Saves You On Its Own Because Repentance For Salvation Is Changing Your Mind And Believing On Jesus Christ ALONE

You have already been saved through repentance because you have believed on Jesus Christ.

  • There is no Scriptures to support the Pentecostal process of salvation.
  • They say you must repent of your sins, be baptized, pray for the Spirit, and speak in tongues 3 times.
  • Acts 2:38 doesn’t say that. Acts 2:38 says to repent and believe on Jesus Christ.
  • Then, you should be baptized. And ye shall receive the Holy Ghost.
  • You receive the Holy Ghost once you have believed on Jesus Christ AFTER He was risen from the dead.

[40] John 7:38-39 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

  • Since you now live after Jesus Christ has risen from the dead, you now receive the Holy Ghost when you believe on Jesus Christ.
  • “But this spake He of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive.”
  • “For the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.”
  • Jesus says that we’ll receive the Spirit when we believe on Him.

Pentecostals say that Acts 2:38 says you won’t receive the Holy Spirit until you’ve been baptized.

  • Then you must pray for it or do a work for it.
  • And then you must speak in tongues 3 times to prove to them that you have it. Are you serious?
  • Listen up. You must seriously have lost it to believe in the Pentecostal way of salvation.
  • YOU ARE DECEIVED.

[41] Ephesians 1:12-13 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

  • That’s after Acts Chapter 2. Paul wrote this AFTER Acts Chapter 2 happened.
  • Hear the truth, believe the truth, believe the Gospel, and you are sealed with the Holy Spirit.
  • But let’s see what happens in the rest of Acts Chapter 2? Surely their process of salvation must be there.

[42] Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

  • They heard his preaching, which was the truth. They believed the truth. They were saved.
  • Now, does the rest of Acts Chapter 2 mention that these people spoke in babble?
  • Does it mention them praying for the Holy Spirit? Does it mention them repenting of all their sin?
  • Does it mention anything about this made up Pentecostal way of salvation? No, it doesn’t.
  • It’s not there. Why would you make it up? Because you’ve fallen for the lies of the devil.
  • What about the rest of the Book of Acts? Are there any examples that match the Pentecostal way?

[43] Acts 8:4-5 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word. 5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.

  • These people were scattered because of Saul making havoc of the church.
  • Philip went to the city of Samaria and preached Christ unto them. What happened?

[44] Acts 8:12-13 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

  • The Bible doesn’t say that they had to repent of all their sin, be baptized in water, pray for the Holy Spirit to come upon them, and speak in tongues three times.
  • Try to find that process of salvation within the Bible. It’s not there. The Pentecostal way isn’t there.
  • The so-called “Apostolic” way of the Pentecostals isn’t in the Bible. It’s the way of Satan.

How were the miracles and signs done that Philip was doing?

  • Philip had the indwelling of the Holy Spirit but this doesn’t perform the outward miracles.
  • The Holy Ghost coming upon you is when miracles are performed such as speaking with tongues.
  • And why was this miracle done by the Holy Spirit? God gave this as a sign so His words would spread.
  • Again, this is not the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit coming upon people is seen in the Book of Acts through the laying on of hands by the apostles.

  • This is not breathing upon someone to give them the indwelling as Jesus Christ did.
  • The Holy Spirit would come upon people with power so miracles would be shown.
  • This is not the process of salvation as the Pentecostals believe. We don’t need a sign to be saved

[45] Acts 8:35-36 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. 36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

[46] Acts 8:37-39 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. 38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. 39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

  • The true and only way of salvation is believing on the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Did the Ethiopian eunuch do this? Yes. He says, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
  • When you believe this, you know that Jesus is the SON OF GOD. He can do anything.
  • He can save you all on His own without your help because He is the Son of God.
  • THEN, he was baptized in water. Was he saved before he was baptized in water? Yes he was.

Does this example of salvation follow the Pentecostal way of salvation? No, it doesn’t.

  • Did this man repent of all his sin first? Did he turn from all his sin?
  • The Bible doesn’t say ANYTHING about repenting of sin in this example.
  • Philip preached Jesus Christ unto him, and he believed on Jesus Christ.
  • There goes the Pentecostal process of salvation. Did he pray for the Holy Spirit?
  • Did Philip lay his hands upon him and tell him to receive the Holy Spirit to be saved?
  • No, he doesn’t. Does this Ethiopian eunuch speak in babble 3 times? No, he doesn’t.
  • This doesn’t match the Pentecostal way.

There Is Not One Example Of Salvation In The Bible That Follows The Pentecostal Way Because The Pentecostal Way Leads To Hell

When Saul was saved and his name changed to Paul, his salvation didn’t follow the Pentecostal process.

  • We pray so the Holy Ghost comes upon us with power.
  • We don’t pray to receive the indwelling of the Holy Ghost.
  • We receive this when we believe on Jesus Christ. The Bible says so.
  • Does the Holy Ghost have to come upon you with power to be saved? NO, HE DOESN’T.
  • Let’s continue to look at examples within the Book of Acts to show these examples do not match the Pentecostal process to salvation.

[47] Acts 10:44-45 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. 45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

  • Peter is here in Acts Chapter 10 preaching to Gentiles. The Holy Ghost comes upon them with power.
  • This is not the indwelling of the Holy Ghost. Why did God do this? FOR A SIGN.
  • What did Peter just preach to these Gentiles? Let’s go back one verse.
  • He didn’t preach to repent of all your sin.

[48] Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

  • This is what Peter preached. The Holy Ghost came upon them with power for a sign.
  • The Bible says so. They of the circumcision which believed were astonished.
  • What happens next in Acts Chapter 10? Moving to verse 46.

[49] Acts 10:46-48 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, 47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

  • That’s the end of the story. Now, does that match the Pentecostal process of salvation?
  • The Holy Ghost came upon them BEFORE they were baptized.
  • They spoke WITH tongues before they were baptized. They didn’t pray for the Holy Ghost.
  • They didn’t repent of all their sin. They were baptized after speaking with tongues.
  • They didn’t speak with BABBLE. They spoke with tongues or languages. It was a miracle.
  • Speaking in babble is not a miracle. Anyone can do it. Then Peter recaps this story in Acts Chapter 10.

[50] Acts 11:13-15 And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter; 14 Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved. 15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

[51] Acts 11:16-17 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. 17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

  • Peter tells us that those people BELIEVED ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST when he preached to them.
  • Jesus says over and over throughout the Bible, “He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.”
  • These people were saved with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit at the moment they believed on Jesus.
  • The Holy Ghost came upon them with power, not the indwelling, for a sign to Peter.

[52] Acts 16:14-15 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul. 15 And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.

  • Lydia was saved BEFORE she was baptized in water.
  • She was baptized in water to show outwardly that she believed.
  • “If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house.”
  • The Bible doesn’t say she followed the Pentecostal process of salvation or the Apostolic way.
  • The Bible doesn’t give this Pentecostal process of salvation in ANY EXAMPLE.
  • But the Bible gives many examples of the correct way of salvation. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • And that’s it. Put ALL 100% of your faith IN HIM.

[53] Acts 18:8 And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.

  • Read Acts Chapter 18. There’s another example. Doesn’t match the Pentecostal way.
  • But I thought the new process of salvation would be found after Acts Chapter 2?
  • But Acts Chapter 2 doesn’t even match their process of salvation. What’s going on here?
  • I’ll tell you what’s going on here. The Pentecostals are liars and deceivers. WAKE UP.
  • Their way is not in the Bible no matter how much you want to twist the Scriptures. NOT THERE.

Acts Chapter 19 Doesn’t Match The Pentecostal Process Of Salvation

In Acts Chapter 19, the Pentecostals will attempt to use this to match their process of salvation.

  • But what they don’t realize is repentance for salvation doesn’t mean repent of all your sin.
  • The Bible explains what the baptism of repentance means.

[54] Acts 19:2-3 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

  • The Holy Ghost had not come upon them with power. They had the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

[55] Acts 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

  • Repentance for salvation is a change of mind from unbelief to belief on Jesus Christ ALONE.
  • John the Baptist preached they should believe on Christ Jesus.

[56] Acts 19:5-6 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

  • This is the Holy Ghost coming upon them with power. Then they spoke with tongues.
  • They didn’t speak in babble. They didn’t turn from all their sin.
  • They didn’t pray to the Lord and ask for the Holy Spirit. They didn’t speak in babble three times.
  • These people were already saved with the indwelling of the Holy Ghost.
  • Paul lays his hands on them so the Holy Ghost would fill them and come upon them with power.
  • Then they spoke with tongues as a sign or a miracle.

That’s it for the examples of salvation in the Book of Acts. Do any follow the process that the Pentecostals have?

  • No, they don’t. Then why are people still believing the Pentecostal way of salvation?
  • They are deceived. Read the examples yourself. They are all out of order from the Pentecostal way.
  • The phrase repent of your sin isn’t found in the Bible once.
  • The Bible clearly says that turning from your evil ways is a work and we are not saved by works.
  • This is why there are no examples of turning from all their sin in the Book of Acts. Wasn’t preached.
  • Changing your mind and believing on Jesus Christ, which is repentance for salvation, is in the Book of Acts.

Wake Up Deceived Pentecostals And Hear The Actual Words Of Christ

I hope to God that deceived Pentecostals will wake up and see the actual truth in the Bible.

  • People who shake and flop in the floor are not filled with the Spirit of God.
  • People who speak in babble are not filled with the Spirit of God.
  • God is not the author of confusion and babble only leads to confusion.
  • The Pentecostal way of salvation only leads to confusion as it is a lie. Understand that.

[57] John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

  • There’s the way of salvation. Believe on Jesus Christ. He is THE WAY. He is the only way.
  • The Pentecostal way of salvation leads to hell. The way of Jesus Christ leads to everlasting life.
  • Choose Jesus Christ and nothing else for salvation. Not repenting of all your sin. You can’t.
  • It’s impossible. Water baptism doesn’t save you but you should be baptized after you believe fully.

Let’s pray.
