[2] The title of the sermon: “DEAD WRONG ABOUT ETERNAL SALVATION.”
- I want to look closely at a comment that Dan left on the website about eternal salvation.
- We’ll look closely at the Scriptures he used to tell me that I was dead wrong about eternal salvation.
- I preach and teach that salvation is everlasting life that can’t be lost no matter what.
- Once you are saved, you have everlasting life.
- EVERLASTING LIFE lasts forever from the moment you have it.
Many people in false religion don’t believe this, but they profess to be Christians.
- A Christian follows the words of Jesus Christ. A fake “Christian” doesn’t follow His words.
- So, let’s take a close look at the comment I received.
[3] You are “dead” wrong about eternal salvation. Who in their right mind believes someone could accept salvation and then commit adultery and still be saved? Look at Hebrews 10:26, Ezekiel 18:26, 2 Peter 2:20, and 1 John 3:6. I don’t understand how you can believe this but I know your comeback will be “they were never even saved to begin with.” Sorry that is not Biblical.
- Okay, so, let’s see. God calls salvation everlasting life. SALVATION = EVERLASTING LIFE.
- By God’s definition, salvation is everlasting. I didn’t come up with that myself.
- So, if I am wrong about salvation being everlasting, then God is wrong because I go that from Him.
- Most so-called “Christians” in this world today believe that salvation can be lost.
Am I dead according to Dan’s quotation marks? Am I dead wrong about salvation being eternal?
- Can someone be saved, commit adultery, and still be saved? Did their salvation status change?
- Anyone who knows me wouldn’t think that I would say “there were never saved to begin with.”
Once someone is saved by believing on Jesus Christ, NO SIN will cause them to lose salvation.
- There is not one sin that you can come up with that will cause a saved person to lose salvation.
- A saved person won’t blaspheme the Holy Ghost. A saved person won’t become a sodomite.
- Is what Dan is “teaching” me here Biblical, or do I teach Biblical things?
We will look to all the Scriptures that Dan attempts to use to say salvation can be lost.
- Dan calls out adultery as the sin that would cause someone to lose salvation.
- Here’s my question for Dan: “Which sins will cause someone to lose salvation?”
- Adultery, according to Dan, is bad enough to cause salvation to be lost.
- Does Dan ever sin? When Dan sins, what does Dan do to gain his so-called salvation back?
- Is lying bad enough? What if it’s just a small lie?
[4] Proverbs 12:22 Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.
- Lying lips, no matter how big the lies, are an abomination to the Lord.
- This means that Jesus Christ HATES lying lips. The size of the lie doesn’t matter.
[5] Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
- A lying tongue is hated by God. A false witness that speaks lies is greatly hated by God.
- For example, Dan is attempting to tell me that salvation can be lost. HE IS A LIAR.
- Do you think God hates when Dan lies to me? Guaranteed God hates this.
- Dan doesn’t understand eternal salvation at all, but he’s going to teach me all about it.
- Dan would probably also teach me that God loves everything and everyone all the time.
- He can’t read the simple words of the Bible and understand them.
[6] Psalm 5:4-6 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee. 5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. 6 Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.
- Is it evil to teach people that salvation can be lost? Yes, it’s 100% evil because God says the opposite.
- God says that He will destroy them that speak leasing or lies. God abhors the bloody and deceitful man.
- Does what I teach lead to death? Am I teaching lies as Dan says?
- Or, does Dan lead people to death? LIES LEAD TO DEATH AND HELL.
[7] Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
- What’s on the list there?
- “AND ALL LIARS shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone.”
- Lies about God’s words kill people. People like Dan are killing people.
- Dan, I am sick of hearing lies, and I am sick of lying false preachers like you. YOU MAKE ME SICK.
Now, if you would hear the words of Jesus Christ and trust His words, then you won’t make me sick.
- The Bible proves Dan wrong in hundreds of ways throughout the Bible. God proves Dan to be a liar.
- The Scriptures as a whole prove Dan wrong. I could use hundreds of Scriptures to prove Dan wrong.
[8] Proverbs 30:6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
- I will show you today how salvation cannot be lost under any circumstance.
- For example, let’s take a look at our Bible memorization verse for today.
[9] Romans 5:19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
- You should be able to see and understand what this Scripture is saying.
- Again, as most of the Bible does, this Scripture is pointing us to the way, the truth, and the life.
- This is pointing us to Jesus Christ. WE WERE MADE SINNERS. There’s none good, no, not one.
- Dan should understand that he is not good as long as he is in his flesh. He sins constantly.
- He greatly sins when he spreads lies that eternal salvation is not eternal.
But Dan must believe that he doesn’t sin, or at least his sins aren’t bad enough for him to lose salvation.
- Or, he believes that he sins and then once he repents of that sin he earns salvation back.
- So Dan must understand that his beliefs lead to him losing salvation thousands upon thousands of times.
- Ceasing to pray for someone you should be praying for is a sin according to 1 Samuel 12:23.
- We sin constantly as long as we are in this flesh. The Bible teaches this over and over again.
Dan believes obedience to God’s words will save him.
- But he hasn’t even obeyed the simple Gospel of Jesus Christ. This verse is teaching you something.
- Dan, you are disobedient to God. I am disobedient to God. All of us are disobedient to God.
- Adam and Eve were disobedient to God. It didn’t take long for them to disobey God.
- We are all sinners, and we will continue to be sinners as long as we are in this flesh.
- When my flesh finally dies, I will no longer be a sinner. But, until then, I am a sinner.
- I am not holy, perfect, and 100% obedient to God at all times in my life.
But, I know 100% for sure that I am saved. I know that I have everlasting life. How can that be?
- I just told you that I continue to sin right now. I have bad thoughts. This is called sin.
- Every day that I live I prove to myself over and over again that I am not perfect.
- Your life is a testimony to yourself that you are not perfect, but some people still believe they are perfect.
- Some people still believe that they are obedient to God at all times.
- They truly believe they live a holy life. But every day proves that they are not.
I was just thinking the other day how that I can’t be perfect. God tells me to be perfect because He hates sin.
- But I still mess up because my flesh is not perfect. It is corrupted. Sin dwells within me.
- But God has made my soul perfect. My soul does not sin because He saved me from all my sins.
- This Scripture is telling you that you are disobedient and Jesus Christ is obedient.
- You will NEVER be perfectly obedient in this body, but Jesus Christ is PERFECT in the flesh.
- He is God. He is perfect. He is 100% obedient to the laws of God at all times. He is the Word of God.
By the obedience of JESUS CHRIST shall many be made righteous. I am only righteous now because of Him.
- Since He is perfect, He can give me everlasting life that can never be lost.
- Salvation is only through Him, and He will never do anything wrong.
- So, how can anyone in their right mind, believe that salvation through Jesus Christ can be lost.
Salvation doesn’t depend on my goodness and my obedience. Salvation depends on His obedience.
- And He will NEVER do anything wrong. This is why I can have everlasting life through Jesus Christ.
- Do you see this? There are hundreds and hundreds of Scriptures that teach this same thing.
- I just picked one because this was our Bible verse for the week.
- I could go on for days, weeks, and months with similar examples from the Bible.
If I could lose salvation, I would lose it here in a little while. I mess up. I am not perfect and holy.
- If you could lose salvation, you would lose it here in a little while.
- Dan, I am not sure you’ve ever had salvation. You better change your mind today. Time is running out.
- You aren’t righteous and holy unless you’ve put all your trust in Jesus Christ. THIS IS THE TRUTH.
- And look, if someone believe salvation can be lost, most likely they aren’t saved.
[10] John 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
- Those aren’t my words. Those are the words of Jesus Christ.
- I am alive. I believe “IN” Jesus Christ. I don’t believe in myself. I don’t believe in my works.
- I don’t believe in my goodness. I only believe IN Jesus Christ. I can’t earn salvation.
- God gave it to me because I put my faith in Jesus Christ. I can’t boast about what I’ve done for salvation.
- But I can tell you what Jesus Christ did for me, for you, and for all people who have ever lived.
- Jesus says the words you see there. You can believe them or not.
[11] 1 John 5:11-13 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
- God hath given to us eternal life. Hey, this is salvation.
- If you have eternal life, you cannot die. You cannot go to hell. This means you are saved.,
- This means you have salvation. This means salvation equals eternal life that never ends.
So, if someone has everlasting life and commits the great sin of adultery tomorrow, does he lose salvation?
- If you have everlasting life right now, is there anything you can do to end everlasting life?
- God gave it to you, and He says you may know that you have it. He says you can’t lose it.
Why can so-called “Christians” not understand the definition of everlasting life?
- God made it easy. He gave us a word that you don’t even need a dictionary to understand.
- EVERLASTING. Everlasting means it lasts forever. When do you get everlasting life?
- If you believe on Jesus Christ, you may know that you have everlasting life.
- Verse 13 is very clear and easy to understand. But Dan won’t hear these amazing words.
- Let’s look at the first Scripture Dan tried to use to teach me that God says you can lose everlasting life.
[12] Hebrews 10:26-27 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
- Hebrews Chapter 10 is written to already saved people who have everlasting life.
- So, what is this talking about? Foolishness causes people to pick and choose Scriptures.
- They cannot read and understand the entire chapter.
- “For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.”
People like Dan will interpret the meaning of this as the sacrifice Jesus made for you will now be taken away because you sinned willfully against God.
- You knew what you did was wrong before you did it. And you did it anyway.
- So, let me ask you this. Do you think Peter knew it was wrong to deny Jesus Christ?
- Do you really think Peter was such a fool that he didn’t know it was wrong to deny the Son of God?
- This would mean that Peter sinned willfully against Jesus Christ who is God.
- Does this mean the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross was no longer active for Peter?
My next question for Dan and everyone like him is this: “Have you EVER sinned willfully?”
- Have you known something was wrong, and you did it anyway?
- Let me give you a simple example here. I want go back to the verse right before this one.
- Let’s look closely at Hebrews 10:25. It’s the verse right before Hebrews 10:26 that Dan uses.
- But let me start in verse 23 so you see more of the context of the verse.
[13] Hebrews 10:23-25 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
- These are commandments from God. You know what they are.
- We are to hold fast the profession of faith without wavering. Have you always done that?
- You know you are supposed to, but do you ever have days or moments when you waver in your faith?
- If you don’t always hold fast the profession of your faith without wavering, you are willfully sinning.
“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works.”
- Do you always do this to the people around you? ALWAYS. You know you should, but have you ever not?
- If not, then you are willfully sinning against God. What about verse 25?
“Not forsaking the assembling of yourselves together.” This is talking about congregating together.
- This is talking about being with saved people. This is talking of church with actual saved people.
- People know they are supposed to go to church at a good church who teaches God’s words.
- Has Dan always done this? Have you always done this? Have I always done this? No. None of us have.
- Do you know why? Because we aren’t perfect people. THIS IS WHY JESUS CAME TO DIE FOR US.
If His sacrifice was null and void once we sinned willfully, then no one would be in heaven.
- And then He wouldn’t have come to save us. The actual truth is that we have all sinned willfully.
- And this is a very serious sin, but God doesn’t take away the sacrifice of Jesus Christ when we do this.
- But yes, God takes this very seriously, and He will punish us for doing this.
- And this is what Hebrews Chapter 10 is teaching. He doesn’t take away everlasting life.
- If He did, the entire Bible would be a lie. Here’s what He means. We use the same chapter.
- We go to the very first verse in Hebrews Chapter 10. SAME CHAPTER. Read the actual chapter, Dan.
[14] Hebrews 10:1-2 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. 2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
- So, in Hebrews 10:26, it says that there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.
- If Dan were right in his interpretation, this means once you sin willfully, you couldn’t be saved again.
- “THERE REMAINETH NO MORE SACRIFICE FOR SINS.” This means you wouldn’t get salvation back EVER.
- But I would guess that Dan thinks he can get salvation back after he sins willfully.
For example, King David committed adultery. Was King David saved before he committed adultery?
- Of course King David was a saved man before he committed adultery. He already had everlasting life.
- Did King David know what he was doing was wrong? Of course he knew adultery was wrong.
- Of course he knew murdering Uriah was wrong. But he did it anyway. His flesh was weak.
- Your flesh is weak. Did King David lose salvation because he sinned willfully against God?
- No, he didn’t lose salvation. Was he punished for what he did? Yes he was. You can read it yourself.
Dan is saying that King David clearly lost salvation. But I am sure Dan will say King David gained it back.
- But Hebrews 10:26 says there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.
- This would mean, under Dan’s interpretation, that King David went to hell.
- “There remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.” Did King David go to hell? NO WAY. He’s in heaven.
- He says, in Psalms, “I will take the cup of salvation and call upon the name of the Lord.”
- He didn’t mention anything else saving him ONCE. He knew that only God could save him.
So, what does this verse tell us about Hebrews Chapter 10 and especially Hebrews 10:26?
- The sacrifice for sins in verse 26 is talking about what? What does verse 1 say right there?
- “For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those SACRIFICES which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.”
- The law had a SHADOW of good things to come. What is this talking about?
The sacrifices they would offer God were not the very image of the things.
- When they would offer a sacrifice for their sins, this is not the sacrifice for sins.
- An animal was not “THE SACRIFICE FOR SINS.” This was just a shadow of this.
- Jesus Christ is the actual sacrifice for sins. An animal sacrifice wouldn’t purge them of all sin.
- I am not going to go over the entire chapter in great detail as we don’t have time.
- But all of this agrees with what I am teaching. Why? Because I use the Bible.
[15] Hebrews 10:3-6 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. 4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. 5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: 6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
- God was not pleased with the blood of bulls and goats because they don’t take away sin.
- They were sacrifices for sin, but they were only a SHADOW of GOOD THINGS to come.
- Who do you think this is talking about? JESUS CHRIST. The entire Bible points to Him.
[16] Hebrews 10:7-9 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. 8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; 9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
- Thank God Jesus Christ came and died for us and NEVER takes away His sacrifice for us.
- Dan says that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ is made null and void when we willfully sin.
- God never says that once because it is a lie. Now, listen to the next Scriptures closely.
- Please tell me if this matches what Dan is teaching people.
Can you really lose the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for you and go to hell once you have faith in Him?
- Jesus came to do the will of God. Did He get the job done or not? Did He become the Savior of the world?
- Did He get the job done? Jesus said, “Lo, I come to do thy will, O God.” Did He do it or not?
- Let’s see what He did. Read the next verse.
[17] Hebrews 10:10-12 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
- What does Hebrews Chapter 10 actually teach? God teaches us the opposite of what Dan says.
- Dan is a liar. I hope and pray Dan sees the truth and stops lying to people.
- Maybe he is just repeating something a false preacher told him. I hope Dan sees the truth.
- How do I know this is the truth? I have the witness within me. I testify that this is the truth.
Jesus came to do God’s will. “By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ.”
- But don’t stop there in verse 10. ONCE FOR ALL. Jesus died once for ALL people.
- He is “THE SACRIFICE FOR SINS.” The bulls and goats were not the “THE SACRIFICE” for sins.
- Verse 11 says these priests stand there daily offering the same sacrifices over and over again.
- Those sacrifices can’t take away sins. “YOUR SACRIFICES” cannot take away sins.
What does verse 12 say? Jesus Christ offered one sacrifice for sins forever.
- Can some people not understand this? When I am saved, I am saved from my sins forever.
- He offered the ONE SACRIFICE that I need to be saved from my sins.
- If I willfully sin after I am saved, He already paid for that sin for my soul to be saved.
ONE SACRIFICE FOR SINS FOREVER. Must I do some work to be forgiven of that sin for salvation?
- Dan would probably say I must repent of that sin to get salvation back and go to heaven.
- Repenting of sin is a work. Jonah Chapter 3 says so. We are not saved by our works.
- After Jesus was done with His job, what does the Bible say He did in verse 12?
- He sat down on the right hand of God. He’s done with that work. So He sat down. Remember that.
- You know how people drop the mic when they are finished speaking. This is better.
- Jesus got the job done. He was finished with sacrifice for sins FOREVER. So He sat down with God.
[18] Hebrews 10:13-17 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. 14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. 15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, 16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
- Now, do you see what Hebrews Chapter 10 is teaching? It’s teaching eternal life.
- Verse 14 says “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”
- Once you are sanctified or saved, you have been perfected FOREVER.
- Obviously, this isn’t speaking of our body. Elisha was a saved man, obviously. He died of a disease.
King Asa, a faithful king, died of a disease because he sought the physicians and not the Lord.
- Your soul is saved and made perfect. And one day you will get a new body but not yet.
- We, obviously, are not perfect right now. OUR SOUL IS PERFECTED BY JESUS CHRIST.
- We are already saved when we believe on Him. He says so. I will never die.
Verse 17 says, “And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.”
- The sacrifice is complete. There is nothing else I can offer to God to be forgiven of my sins.
- God doesn’t say He will take salvation away and remember my sins once again.
- Now, let’s get to the really important part so Dan can understand what verse 26 actually means.
[19] Hebrews 10:18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
- The offering for my sins has already been made. I accepted this offering by believing in Jesus Christ.
- All of my sins (past, present, and future) are forgiven for salvation. I have eternal life right now.
- I already have remission of sins. “Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.”
What does this verse mean? I DON’T NEED ANY OTHER OFFERINGS FOR MY SIN.
- I am already forgiven FOREVER. Do you understand this? “There is no more offering for sin.”
- For who? For anyone who already has remission of sins.
- Verse 26 is directly related to this verse. He is simply repeating what this means over and over again.
[20] Hebrews 10:19-21 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; 21 And having an high priest over the house of God;
- He did all the work. He came in the flesh because we are in the flesh. We are very weak in the flesh.
- We mess up all the time because of our flesh. JESUS DIDN’T. He came in the flesh. He’s not weak.
- We are weak. We can’t save ourselves. We willfully sin. WE ARE WEAK. This is why Jesus came in the flesh.
- HE HATH CONSECRATED FOR US. It’s over. Everything I need to be saved has been completed.
[21] Hebrews 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
- We have a full assurance of faith. JESUS IS FAITHFUL. When we have faith in Him, He saves us.
- Some people say they have faith, but their faith is in other things besides Jesus Christ.
For example, I can see that Dan has faith in himself to save himself. He depends on his own works.
- He thinks I’m crazy to believe on Jesus Christ. He thinks that if I do something bad, I will lose salvation.
- This is not BELIEVING IN Jesus Christ.
- If I believe in Jesus Christ, I know there’s nothing I can do to lose salvation. I am fully assured.
- Our bodies have been washed with pure water. PAST TENSE.
[22] Hebrews 10:23-25 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
- God already explained that we have eternal life in Hebrews Chapter 10. We already know that.
- This chapter is being written to people who are already saved.
- Verses 23 through 25 are telling us what we should now do.
- If we don’t do this 100% of the time, will we lose salvation? Of course not. Have you not read?
[23] Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
- There is no more sacrifice for sins. I can’t take a goat or a bull and offer it for my sins.
- I am already saved so I don’t need to do this. My sins are already forgiven. But my flesh is not.
- Obviously, our flesh isn’t saved. We are not healed completely in our flesh.
- Our soul is not the same as our flesh. If we sin willfully now, we will be punished but not our soul in hell.
- I’ve already been forgiven of my sins, but it’s not okay for me to sin. I’ve never said that once.
For some reason, people love to act as if we teach something here that we don’t teach. We don’t teach lies.
- We don’t say that we can now do whatever we want and get away with it.
- Our soul will go to heaven, but we will be punished in this life. God can make our life a living hell.
- The worst punishment is death. We lose this life on this earth that God gave us.
- There is no more sacrifice for my sins because I am already saved.
- Now, does this mean I can go do whatever I want? No. This is what Hebrews Chapter 10 is also teaching.
[24] Hebrews 10:27-29 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
- You will get a sorer punishment for sinning willfully against God because you know the truth.
- You have the Spirit of grace within you. If you do these things, YOU WILL BE PUNISHED.
- Your punishment is not your soul in hell. It will be other things. What happened to King David?
- He lost children. Do you think that’s easy? Do you think that’s a tough punishment? Yes it is.
- God took what David did very seriously. He didn’t get away with it.
[25] Hebrews 10:30-31 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
- Now, do you see what Hebrews Chapter 10 is teaching? And I didn’t go into all the details.
- That was a just a quick teaching up to Hebrews 10:26 and a little past.
- Don’t mess with God. If you’re a saved person, you should be exceedingly fearful of Him.
- Don’t sin willfully against Him. If you do, be ready for something that hurts.
He does this to bring you back to Him. Please understand this. And I know how it hurts.
- I am warning you. Don’t do it. Others here could give you the same warnings. It hurts.
- What else does Dan use? Let’s see. Keep in mind that Dan is using the Old Testament.
- So he wouldn’t be able to tell me that I can’t use the Old Testament.
- He uses Ezekiel 18:26, but he doesn’t go past that. Let’s go there.
[26] Ezekiel 18:26-28 When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die. 27 Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. 28 Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
- Dan only reads verse 26. A righteous man is a man who is saved because no man has righteousness without the righteousness of Jesus Christ.
- Verse 26 is talking about an already saved man who is righteous in his soul. No flesh is righteous.
If a saved man turns away from his righteousness, which is Jesus Christ, and commits iniquity, what happens?
- Sin leads to death of the saved man’s flesh. Not his soul. His soul is righteous. His soul is saved.
- That saved man will die in his sin. “For his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.”
We all sin. We all die. “For the wages of sin is death.” Our flesh will die. We will take our last breath one day.
- WE ALL DIE. Maybe Dan doesn’t understand that him and I will both die one day. Why will we die?
- Because we have sinned. Both of us. As long as we are alive, we will sin. And we will be punished.
- If we believe on Jesus Christ, our souls will not be judged to go to heaven or hell.
- Our flesh will be judged right now on this earth, and we will pay for our sins in our flesh.
- Can you not already see this? Does everyone die or not? Our flesh is paying the price. It’s fair.
Verse 27 and 28 give you more of the truth. When the wicked man turns from evil and does God’s words, he lives.
- When a righteous man who is saved, turns from righteousness, he will die. But he can turn back fast.
- We must turn to Jesus Christ to be saved. Doing right doesn’t lead to death.
- Going to Jesus Christ leads to life because He is the way, the truth, and the life.
- Once someone believes in Jesus Christ, they are obeying God and doing right. They are saved.
- “He shall surely live, he shall not die.”
Let me ask you a question. Does this Scripture say a man will lose everlasting life?
- Does this Scripture say a man will lose salvation? There is no Scripture in the entire Bible that says this.
- Let’s look at 2 Peter 2:20 that Dan attempts to use to say you can lose salvation.
[27] 2 Peter 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
- Is this talking about a saved person? All you have to do is read the chapter.
- You’ll easily find out that this is not a saved person. They know about Jesus Christ.
- But they don’t believe on Him. They don’t trust in Him as the Son of God and Savior of the world.
- They escaped the pollutions of the world through knowledge of Jesus Christ.
This knowledge of Jesus Christ doesn’t save them. A lot of people know about Jesus Christ.
- We know this because we speak to them often. But this doesn’t save them. The proof is in the Scriptures.
- Watch what earlier in the chapter says about these same people mentioned here in verse 20.
[28] 2 Peter 2:10-11 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. 11 Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
- They walk in the flesh. They are selfwilled.
[29] 2 Peter 2:12-13 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; 13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
- Natural brute beasts. Made to be taken and destroyed.
- Keep in mind that these are the same people mentioned in verse 20.
- They speak evil of the things they understand not. They are unrighteous. NOT SAVED.
- “And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness.”
[30] 2 Peter 2:14-15 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: 15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
- Eyes full of adultery. They cannot cease from sin. They are unstable souls. CURSED CHILDREN.
- Does this sound like these people were ever saved? They know about Jesus but not saved.
- They believe He exists, but they haven’t believed ON Him.
[31] 2 Peter 2:17-18 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. 18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
- The mist of darkness is reserved forever. THESE ARE NOT SAVED PEOPLE. Never saved.
- They don’t lose salvation in verse 20. Can you not see this? Am I lying to you or is Dan lying to you?
- “Those that were clean escaped from THEM” talking about the subject people who go to hell.
[32] 2 Peter 2:19-20 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. 20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
- As you can see, the people were never saved. They have knowledge of the Lord.
- Just as Romans Chapter 1, which talks about reprobates, says they had knowledge of the Lord.
- THEY KNEW GOD is what Romans Chapter 1 says about people rejected by God.
- They glorified Him not as God. They didn’t believe in Jesus Christ.
- What’s the last Scripture Dan tried to use against me teaching that salvation is everlasting?
[33] 1 John 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
- So, it appears Dan must believe that he doesn’t sin any more.
- This means he can’t understand the Bible.
- Dan is saying that this Scripture means that if anyone sins, they have never had salvation.
- If that’s what this means, then there is no saved man. This is talking about the soul not sinning.
- This is talking about your soul being IN Jesus Christ. And Jesus Christ doesn’t sin.
[34] 1 John 3:1-2 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
[35] 1 John 3:3-6 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
- Why doesn’t Dan read and understand all the Scriptures?
- Paul sinned after he was a saved man. He says so. Did Paul not know God? Was Paul never saved?
- When we abide in Jesus Christ, then we do not sin. When we walk in the Spirit, we do not sin.
- When we walk in the flesh, we do sin. PAUL SINNED IN HIS FLESH.
- All people of all time, AFTER SAVED, have sinned in their flesh.
Abraham committed adultery. He was already a saved man. The Bible says so. Samson loved many women.
- He was already a saved man. Solomon committed adultery. He was a saved man.
- Peter denied Jesus Christ. He was a saved man. Solomon worshipped false gods. He was a saved man.
- Saul was a saved man. He lost his life because he went against God over and over again.
- Jonah ran from God. He was a saved man.
So, I would like to know which sins are bad enough for Dan so that one would lose their salvation?
- There is no sin bad enough for you to lose salvation once you are saved.
- Lying is a horrible sin. Adultery is a horrible sin. All of these can lead to the loss of life.
- It can be you, or it might be your children, or it might be someone else.
- You don’t want to kill someone through your willful sin. And yes, that’s what can happen.
- Let’s do our best to not sin against our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
- I hope this proves, 100% without a doubt, than salvation cannot be lost.
[36] John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
- That’s it. Put your trust in Jesus Christ. Believe in Him and all the work that He already completed for you.
- He died, and His soul went to hell so you don’t have to.
- The Bible confirms that salvation is everlasting life hundreds and hundreds of times.
Let’s pray.
