[2] The title of the sermon: “CAN SODOMITES BE SAVED?”
Sodomites = Homosexuals = Gay (Not Happy)
- Some Christians believe that sodomites or homosexuals can be saved.
- So, I usually ask them to show me one example of a sodomite in the Bible that was saved.
- Are there any examples within the Bible that show a sodomite being saved?
- And here’s what I usually receive in response to that question.
[3] 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
- Right there at the end of verse 9 you’ll see “nor abusers of themselves with mankind.”
- Most people will automatically believe that this means sodomites or homosexuals.
- Now, let’s read the very next verse.
[4] 1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
- People assume that Paul is telling the Corinthian church that they now have saved people who were sodomites or homosexuals.
- And Paul is writing this through the Holy Ghost who is God Almighty. Everything he says here is truth.
- So, is this an example of a sodomite being saved, washed, and sanctified in Jesus Christ?
- If it is, then this must mean that sodomites or homosexuals can be saved.
- But, if this is a sodomite being saved, would the Bible contradict itself in other Scriptures?
- Today, we’re going to look very closely and compare Scripture with Scripture to find the truth.
To begin, we must know the context of a chapter. We must know what 1 Corinthians Chapter 6 is teaching us.
- And then we need to know the chapters before, the chapters after, and the entire book of 1 Corinthians.
- Paul is writing the book of 1 Corinthians to the church of God which is at Corinth.
[5] 1 Corinthians 1:1-3 Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, 2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: 3 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Paul is writing this to saved people in the TRUE CHURCH of God at Corinth.
- These people are called Corinthians. We know many of them WERE (past tense) great sinners.
- We’re all great sinners. We’ve all done many, many things wrong that go against God’s commandments.
- But, now that we’re saved, do we continue to walk in the flesh 100% of the time? I sure hope not.
- We need to make sure we’re all looking out for each other.
- We need to make sure we don’t have ANY DIVISIONS among us. We speak the same things.
- We teach the same things. We are to be perfectly joined together in Jesus Christ.
[6] 1 Corinthians 1:10-11 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. 11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
- We don’t want to have any contentions among us so we need to get our understanding of the Scriptures correct.
- This is what Paul is teaching the Corinthians throughout this book.
[7] 1 Corinthians 2:6-8 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
- We won’t figure this out today by using wisdom from the world.
- We won’t get the answer to the question, “Can sodomites be saved?” until we use wisdom from God.
- We need God’s wisdom and His knowledge of sodomites to understand the answer to the question.
- We don’t need a false denomination, a false preacher, or a sodomite to answer the question for us.
- We will allow God to answer this question using His words from the Bible.
[8] 1 Corinthians 2:10-11 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
[9] 1 Corinthians 2:12-13 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
[10] 1 Corinthians 2:14-16 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
- So, would you rather have this question answered by God or by the natural man?
- Would you rather have this answered by someone walking in the Spirit or in the flesh?
- So, we ask the Holy Spirit today to please teach us, help us, and guide us to the truth.
- We’re going to work our way up to 1 Corinthians Chapter 6 so we understand the context of this book.
- If you have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ with all your heart and soul, you have the mind of Christ.
- This means you have trusted in Jesus Christ ALONE and nothing else.
- If you have trusted in other things such as your works, then you don’t have the mind of Christ.
Do You Go To Someone Who Doesn’t Believe The Bible To Answer This Question?
For example, all of the so-called “Christian” denominations that preach a false gospel won’t have the right answer.
- Would you go to a church that believes in a false gospel to have this question answered?
- Would you go to the United Church of Christ with their false god to get this question answered?
- Would you go to the Southern Baptists with their false gospel to get this question answered?
- Would you go to the Catholic Church to have this question answered?
- Would you go to a sodomite to have this question answered? NO to all of those.
- You would go to a church who actually gets the Gospel right and believes on Jesus Christ alone.
- You wouldn’t attempt t find the right answer from people who don’t believe God’s words.
[11] 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
- If you’re a saved person, and you want to defile your own body which is the temple of God, God will destroy your body.
- He will take you out of this life. If you’re saved and want to continue in fornication, be very careful.
- You might just lose your life here on this earth.
For example, let’s say a saved person wants to experiment with homosexuality for some unknown reason.
- They have fallen away from God and could care less what God says.
- And yes, this happens. King Saul is an example of a saved man who defied God’s commandments.
- That saved person is defiling the temple of God. They most likely won’t be here much longer.
- “Him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”
- This doesn’t mean you’ve lost salvation or going to hell but you’ve lost your life that God gave you here.
- You’ve lost all opportunities and chances to earn rewards in heaven.
[12] 1 Corinthians 3:18-20 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. 20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
- So, please keep all of this in mind as we’re moving towards 1 Corinthians Chapter 6.
- We don’t use the wisdom of a corrupted mind. Many sodomites will tell you that they are good people.
- They will tell you that they believe all the words of the Bible. But they reject God in every way.
- They don’t like His words so they attempt to change His words over and over again.
They will come up with excuses for the word of God in the Book of Leviticus.
- They’ll say: “Since Christians eat shellfish now that being gay is now okay with God.”
- They’ll say: “Since Christian men now have long hair that being a homosexual is now okay with God.”
- Their logic is completely flawed because it’s coming from a corrupt mind.
- Their logic is coming from a reprobate or rejected mind.
- Their so-called “wisdom” is foolishness with God. “He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.”
- They can attempt to be as crafty as they want, but they will never fool God. He cannot be fooled.
- Their thoughts are vain or worthless so why would I listen to their opinion on this matter. I won’t.
[13] 1 Corinthians 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
- We will allow God to be the judge of this question today.
- Can sodomites be saved? God is the judge of that and He answers this within His Scriptures.
[14] 1 Corinthians 4:6 And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.
- We don’t find the answer to this question based on what WE THINK and what WE FEEL.
- “Well, I feel that sodomites can be saved because they are good people deep down inside.”
- REALLY? Is that what you feel? Your feelings don’t matter. Your thoughts are foolish.
- God’s word and what He says is what matters. Don’t raise yourself up to God’s level.
- “Well, what I think and what I feel is right.” Well, guess what? You aren’t God.
- And you don’t know better than God. Don’t be puffed up as if you know better than God.
[15] 1 Corinthians 5:1-2 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife. 2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.
- Right at the beginning of 1 Corinthians Chapter 5 we see FORNICATION within the Corinthian church.
- A son is fornication with his father’s wife. This also happens all around here in this country.
- All of this trash has been happening for a very long time and Paul says it’s happening in this church.
- He’s saying it’s wicked and nasty. He’s saying the church didn’t even care.
- The church wasn’t sorry for this. They didn’t mourn about this. They didn’t punish the man doing this.
[16] 1 Corinthians 5:3-5 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, 4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
- This man is delivered unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh. There’s the purpose of Satan.
- God keeps Satan around to fulfill a purpose. Destruction of the flesh but the spirit is saved.
- This saved man better stop his evil ways or his flesh will be destroyed.
- His spirit is saved but his flesh will see destruction.
[17] 1 Corinthians 5:6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
- This Corinthian church is allowing these things to happen and Paul says, “Your glorying is not good.”
- Just a little leaven will leaveneth the whole lump. The evil will spread throughout the church.
- Fornication is not okay. Married homosexuals are not married in God’s eyes. They are fornicating.
- You have these so-called “married” sodomites who are leaders in churches.
- They say, “We aren’t hurting anyone. We love each other.” Wrong. What they do is hurting each other.
- What they’re doing is sin. It’s sick and it’s nasty.
[18] 1 Corinthians 5:7-8 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
- Fornication doesn’t belong in the church of God. Get the fornication out of the churches.
- Can sodomites be saved, married, and attend church? NO. They aren’t married in God’s eyes.
- Marriage is between a male and a female.
- Not a male and a male who attempted to transform into a female.
- Not a female and female who attempted to transform into a male.
Male With Male Or Female With Female Does Not Equal Marriage
Everything else other than a male and a female is not a Biblical marriage.
- And remember, these same people profess to follow and believe God’s words.
- But they reject His words in every way possible. They only want to use the words that benefit them.
- All of the others are rejected by them and changed into whatever works for them.
- Fornication is WICKEDNESS. God hates fornication. He says so over and over again within the Bible.
[19] 1 Corinthians 5:9-10 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: 10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
[20] 1 Corinthians 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
- A church is not to company with fornicators. “NOT TO COMPANY WITH FORNICATORS.”
- So, no, sodomites are not allowed within this church EVER. NEVER, EVER, NEVER. Is that clear?
- I didn’t make the rule. God made the rule. And this isn’t the only Scripture in the Bible.
- And it’s not just sodomites that are fornicators. There are lots of other fornicators as well.
[21] 1 Corinthians 5:12-13 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? 13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
- Notice that Paul is talking about JUDGING within the church in verse 12 right there.
- Within the church, we are to judge each other and help each other. JUDGE WITHIN. Why?
- Because we all have the Spirit of God within us. We should be able to make good judgements.
- When we use the word of God, we can make good judgements.
- For example, today, we should be able judge whether or not sodomites can be saved.
- How? We use the word of God to guide us and provide the BASIS for our judgements.
What does God call fornicators right there at the end of verse 13?
- “Therefore put away from among yourselves that WICKED person.” He calls them wicked.
- If God calls them wicked, would you look at people who are fornicating and call them good?
- Would you say, “Well, I know them better than God and I know they are good people.”
- Again, God calls them wicked. Are you a better judge than God? Are you puffed up? Arrogant?
- When you won’t fall in line with God’s word, you’ve made the WRONG JUDGEMENT.
- What does God say about fornicators? He tells us about them.
Get away from them. Kick them out of the church. If you’re fornicating today, wouldn’t you listen to this?
- You have people living together that aren’t married and having children outside of marriage.
- God says, “YOU ARE WICKED.” Sodomites, God says that you are wicked.
- If you’re thinking about becoming a sodomite, is this what you want God to think of you? WICKED???
- I sure don’t want God to think of me as wicked. Wouldn’t you want to stop doing wrong?
- Does it not bother you that you’re doing wrong? Is your conscience seared with a hot iron?
- Fornication is very evil and wicked for both straight people and for gay people.
- That’s the very last verse in 1 Corinthians Chapter 5.
- Now, we’re moving into the subject chapter, 1 Corinthians Chapter 6.
[22] 1 Corinthians 6:1-2 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? 2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
- Paul continues teaching us about making right judgements.
- SAINTS or sanctified or saved people, who have the Spirit of God, should be able to judge right.
- The saints shall judge the world, but are we unable to judge the smallest matters?
[23] 1 Corinthians 6:3-5 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? 4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. 5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?
[24] 1 Corinthians 6:6-8 But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. 7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? 8 Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.
- We don’t take our matters to unbelievers. We don’t ask sodomites to give us their judgement.
- “Well, we think we are doing right by being homosexuals because we are very loving people.”
- They don’t even understand the definition of love. Love is following God’s commandments.
- Being a homosexual is NOT following God’s commandments therefore they are not loving people.
- Fornicators are not loving people. They continue to go against God’s commandments. That’s hate.
Since I agree with God’s commandments, I will be called hateful but that’s a lie.
- God is right, and they are wrong. When I agree with God, I am right and I am loving.
- In order to love righteousness, I must hate sin. I can’t love these wicked sins and agree with them.
- If I do, then I do not have the fear of God within me.
- If we take the judgement of the unsaved, we do wrong. I don’t need their opinion.
- We have God’s words which tells us right and wrong. We follow His words and agree with His judgement.
[25] 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
- Paul is talking about judgement here. God is the judge.
- He says the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
- Fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, effeminate, ABUSERS OF THEMSELVES WITH MANKIND.
- Thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers or liars, extortioners. They will not go to heaven.
- But we know that there are people who are saved from their sins who commit these sins.
All Of Us Commit Sin But We Are Saved Through The Blood Of Jesus Christ
For example, all of us have lied. All of us have stolen something or taken something of any value that isn’t ours.
- All of us have had idols in our lives. Have you ever put something else above God? I have many times.
- Does that mean we will not inherit the kingdom of God? The next verse gives you the answer.
[26] 1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
- So, we know that some of the Corinthians were some of these things. Not all of them but some.
- “And such WERE some of you.” But now they are saved from all their sins through Jesus Christ.
- For example, one of the Corinthian church members may have been a fornicator.
- Some may have been idolaters. Some may have been ABUSERS OF THEMSELVES WITH MANKIND.
- Before I go into ABUSERS OF THEMSELVES WITH MANKIND, let’s finish the chapter.
[27] 1 Corinthians 6:12-13 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. 13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
[28] 1 Corinthians 6:14-15 And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power. 15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
[29] 1 Corinthians 6:16-18 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. 17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
- Do you see how much time God spends on fornication?
- He’s telling us over and over again to FLEE fornication. Get away from it.
- If there’s a saved person who is now fornication, God will destroy them.
- He will turn their flesh over to Satan.
[30] 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
- That’s the end of 1 Corinthians Chapter 6 but let’s see the next few verses in 1 Corinthians Chapter 7.
[31] 1 Corinthians 7:1-3 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. 2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. 3 Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
- You can avoid fornication as a woman by marrying a man or a husband.
- You can avoid fornication as a man by marrying a woman or a wife.
- Marriage isn’t a man with a man or a woman with a woman or anything else.
- So, let’s go back to 1 Corinthians Chapter 6 verses 9 through 11 and read those carefully.
[32] 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
- These Scriptures are saying that some of the saved people in the church at Corinth WERE these things.
- Some of them WERE abusers of themselves with mankind. They abused themselves with mankind.
- And now they are washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus by the Spirit of God.
- So, if abusers of themselves with mankind EQUALS sodomite, this means a sodomite can be saved.
- But, notice what the Bible says exactly. Does the Bible say SODOMITE right there? No, it doesn’t.
- So we must attempt to figure out what this means.
Within the New Testament, we don’t see the word sodomite or sodomites anywhere.
- The words sodomite and sodomites are found 5 times in the Bible.
- Once in Deuteronomy, twice in 1 Kings, and twice in 2 Kings.
- Is abusers of themselves with mankind equal to sodomites?
- The next thing we would do is attempt to see if the underlying Greek word gives us a clue.

- This underlying Greek word only appears in the New Testament 2 times and this is one of them.
- Let’s look at the other Scripture and see if we learn anything.
[34] 1 Timothy 1:8-9 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; 9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
[35] 1 Timothy 1:10-11 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; 11 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
- In 1 Timothy Chapter 1, we see Paul teaching us about the law of God.
- The law was made for all of us because we’re all sinners. The law teaches us that we are sinners.
- When God says that it is abomination for man to lie with man, He tells us that it is wrong.
- In verse 10 right there, we see: “For them that defile themselves with mankind.”
- The law was made for those who defile themselves with mankind.
- The New Testament is telling us that the law was made for those who defile themselves with mankind.

- So, there’s the same Greek word that we saw in 1 Corinthians Chapter 6 verse 9.
- This doesn’t really help us understand what this means, though.
- Is this talking about sodomites or homosexuals?
If the previous verse in 1 Corinthians Chapter 6 is talking about sodomites, then this must be talking about the same people.
- Many of the people who want to say that 1 Corinthians Chapter 6 is talking about sodomites will say that it’s okay to be a sodomite.
- They will say that the Old Testament law in Leviticus doesn’t apply any more.
- But 1 Timothy Chapter 1 uses the same word and Paul says the law was made for those people.
- In other words, that law applies to them and they are doing wrong.
Abusers Of Themselves With Mankind = Defile Themselves With Mankind
In 1 Corinthians Chapter 6, we saw “ABUSERS OF THEMSELVES WITH MANKIND.”
- Now we see “DEFILE THEMSELVES WITH MANKIND.”
- But, I want to keep reading in 1 Timothy Chapter 1 to see what else Paul says here.
- We left on in verse 11 where Paul is saying that the law was made for those who defile themselves with mankind.
- He also mentioned many other things there as well.
[37] 1 Timothy 1:12-14 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; 13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. 14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
- Paul admits that he was a blasphemer, a persecutor, and injurious to God’s people.
- But he obtained mercy because he did it ignorantly in unbelief.
- That’s very important to understand. Paul was saved even though he did very bad things.
[38] 1 Timothy 1:15-16 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. 16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
- Paul says, “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.”
- “Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy. I believed on Him to life everlasting.”
- So, we’re still stuck with this abusers of themselves with mankind.
- These people we’re talking about in this sermon defile themselves with mankind.
- Paul didn’t say he was one of those people but he does say there were some in the church at Corinth that were these things and are now saved.
So, who are these people? The Bible doesn’t give us a clear example of a sodomite being saved.
- We don’t see any saved Bible character professing to be a sodomite in the past.
- But we do see abusers of themselves with mankind as saved Christians in Corinth.
- This Greek word is not found anywhere else, and it’s not used in other books either.
- Some people will say that Paul invented this Greek word. So this is very difficult.
- If you look in Strong’s Greek dictionary, which is man-made, you’ll find this:

- Notice this dictionary says this word means sodomite. I don’t agree with this dictionary.
- This is a compound word. The word comes from 2 other words.
- The first means male or man as we mankind in the resulting translation.
- The second means couch or bed. Male and bed. They abuse themselves.
But the King James translators didn’t translate the word as sodomite as this dictionary does.
- But, do I think it’s related to a man laying with another man? Yes, I do.
- But do I think this is talking about sodomites? No, I don’t. Let me explain to you what I mean.
- And I know this interpretation is correct because the Bible doesn’t contradict itself anywhere.
- Let’s study the Bible some more here so you understand exactly what I mean here.
[40] Jude 7-8 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. 8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
- This is directly talking about sodomites from the city of Sodom. They were sodomites.
- The Book of Genesis shows us this because the sodomites wanted to “KNOW” the 2 angels.
- They wanted to sodomize the 2 angels because they were sodomites. They love to be sodomites.
- They gave themselves over to fornication. THE BIBLE SAYS SO. They went after strange flesh.
Nature tells us that a man doesn’t have a desire for another man.
- These sodomites suffered the vengeance of ETERNAL FIRE so we know none of them were saved.
- In other words, a true sodomite cannot be saved. Is that not what that tells us right there?
- God gives us these examples so we can set our doctrine. We can have right doctrine.
- These sodomites are FILTHY DREAMERS. They defile the flesh with mankind.
- But we know they can’t be saved because the sodomites here suffered the vengeance of eternal fire.
- If the word eternal was taken out right there, we might say that they only suffered temporary fire.
- But the perfect Bible says they suffered ETERNAL FIRE.
Do you remember where Abraham is asking God to not destroy Sodom?
- God says I won’t destroy it if there are 10 righteous people in that city.
- Righteous EQUALS people who believe in and on God. Sodom is destroyed because there weren’t 10.
- In the whole city, God didn’t find 10 righteous. He removed Lot and his family only.
- The rest suffered the vengeance of eternal fire. There’s your example.
- Sodomites cannot be saved. The Bible even tells us over and over again that this is an example for us.
The King James Bible Doesn’t Say Sodomite In 1 Corinthians Chapter 6
This is why the King James translators didn’t translate that Greek word as sodomite.
- The Strong’s Greek dictionary is wrong. The Scriptures prove that it’s wrong. They made a mistake.
- The Holy Spirit didn’t make a mistake when He worked through the King James translators.
- We have the perfect word of God and the word there is not sodomites.
- So, what is a sodomite exactly? Let’s see.
[41] Romans 1:19-20 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
- These Scriptures are describing a sodomite as we’ll soon see.
- God showed Himself to these people. They are without excuse.
[42] Romans 1:21-23 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
- They knew God, but they glorified Him not as God. God showed Himself to these people.
- They know that there is a God who created them. They never believed on God and were saved.
- But they knew He was there, and they were never thankful to God for the life that He gave them.
- They became vain or worthless in their imaginations. You can see these things within a sodomite.
Their foolish heart was darkened. There is no light within their darkened heart.
- They profess themselves to be wise, but they became fools.
- They change the glory of God into some corruptible image.
- Notice there are lots and lots of sodomite Catholic priests. They love their graven images.
- They are sick and nasty. Listen to these Scriptures and lets get our doctrine correct today.
[43] Romans 1:24-25 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
- This is very important Scripture right here. First, what do we see there?
- God also GAVE THEM UP to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts.
- They have LUST towards the wrong things. They have these LUSTS before God gives them up.
- Then He doesn’t attempt to help them anymore. HE GIVES THEM UP TO UNCLEANNESS.
- To dishonour their own bodies between THEMSELVES.
This sounds similar to abusing and defiling themselves with mankind. Right? It’s similar.
- But this group of people in Romans Chapter 1 cannot be saved. God gave them up. He’s done with them.
- But, there’s a similar group of people in 1 Corinthians Chapter 6 that were saved.
- But it can’t be the same group because these people are gone. They do not have God.
- Let’s keep reading so you see this today.
[44] Romans 1:26-27 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
- God gave them up unto vile or nasty affections. God says these things are VILE that they do.
- And then you get sodomites or homosexuals in today’s world that teach God is okay with it.
- You get church leaders teaching that God is okay with these things. He’s not. It’s very clear.
What is a sodomite? A sodomite is one that God has given up on. They have no chance to be saved.
- They were never saved and they have no chance of being saved.
- They go against nature. They change the natural use into that which is against nature.
- Obviously, things don’t go together in this way. It’s sick. It’s nasty.
- What’s another characteristic of a sodomite that can’t be saved? They suffer eternal fire.
- The Scriptures tell us everything we need to know.
- A characteristic of a sodomite is THEY BURN IN THEIR LUST ONE TOWARD ANOTHER.
The group of people in 1 Corinthians Chapter 6, 100% guaranteed, didn’t BURN in lust for the opposite gender.
- These sodomites in this Scripture are rejected by God.
- And because of that rejection, they burn in lust toward each other.
- Men working with men. It’s not right. It doesn’t fit. It doesn’t go together.
- A saved man doesn’t burn in lust towards another man.
- An unsaved man who still has a chance to be saved doesn’t burn in lust towards another man.
If there is a man or woman who BURNS IN LUST towards another man or woman, they are a sodomite.
- And a sodomite cannot be saved. God says, “You don’t like me? You don’t want me around? Fine.”
- “I will give you up to the lusts and desires of your foolish and darkened heart.”
- And this is what happens to them. They receive in themselves that recompence of their error.
- The group of people in 1 Corinthians Chapter 6 didn’t burn in lust towards the same gender.
- They defiled themselves and abused themselves in the same way but they didn’t burn in lust.
- They did these same things but they didn’t burn in lust and enjoy these things like the sodomites.
[45] Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
- There’s another very important Scripture to understand. “God gave them over to a reprobate mind.”
- What does that mean? He gave them over to a rejected mind. They are rejects. They are reprobate.
[46] Jeremiah 6:30 Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the LORD hath rejected them.
- When God gives someone up, He’s done with them. He has rejected them. Past tense. He says so.
- The group of people in 1 Corinthians Chapter 6 were not rejected because they ended up being saved.
- If they were the same people in Romans Chapter 1, the Bible would contradict itself.
- That’s why the King James Bible doesn’t say they are sodomites. It doesn’t use that word.
- If it used that word, it would be wrong and would lead to contradictions in the Bible.
The Modern Bible Versions Include Contradictions
The ESV, as an example, contradicts itself because it says “nor men who practice homosexuality.”
- The New American Standard says, “Nor homosexuals.” WRONG.
- These Bible versions make people believe that a flaming homosexual can be saved.
- If that were true, Romans Chapter 1 would be wrong. Which one is it? You can’t have it both ways.
- Can homosexuals be saved or not? Romans Chapter 1 clearly says they can’t be saved.
- Jude verse 7 clearly says the sodomites in Sodom ALL suffered ETERNAL FIRE.
- They are all 100% burning in hell right now.
- Yet another example why you can’t trust a modern Bible version.
[47] Romans 1:29-30 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
- This tells us what a sodomite or flaming homosexual will be like. And it matches reality perfectly.
- They are filled with fornication just as we’ve already talked about. They are “FILLED” with it.
- They hate God. They are all these things. They invent evil things. Nobody said they were dumb.
- There are some very smart sodomites out there, but they are still fools.
One that I wanted to mention is right there at the end. “Disobedient to parents.”
- They come and they tell their parents they are gay. Their parents tell them they are not gay.
- Their parents teach them the right things, but they are disobedient to their parents. Sodomites.
- They are filled with all unrighteousness. They are not good people as they profess to be.
[48] Romans 1:31-32 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
- They are unmerciful. In a physical fight, they will most likely win in the end with their pink tutu’s.
- You would be winning, but then you would have mercy on them. And they don’t have any mercy within.
- You do. They don’t. You lose. They win. God says, “They are unmerciful.” They are worthy of death.
- They have pleasure in doing all of these things. A sodomite loves doing these things.
- The group of people in 1 Corinthians Chapter 6 were not given over to a reprobate mind.
If so, they couldn’t be saved. All you have to do is compare Scripture with Scripture.
- We know 100% for sure that the people in 1 Corinthians Chapter 6 were not homosexuals.
- They were not sodomites OR they wouldn’t have the ability to be washed and sanctified.
- Does this make sense to you now when we slow down and look at the Scriptures?
- Sodomites are reprobate or rejected by God and that’s why they are so nasty and wicked.
- They hate you. They hate God. They will lie to your face and tell you that they love you.
- But, in reality, there is no love within them at all because they don’t follow God’s commandments.
- The Bible says right there in Romans Chapter 1 verse 32 that they are worthy of death.
- The New Testament matches the Old Testament perfectly.
[49] Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
[50] Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
- That commandment is not void. It doesn’t matter how a sodomite attempts to twist God’s words.
- And they will and they do. Why? Because they hate God, His ways, and His words.
- That right there is very simple to understand. A man shalt not lie with another man.
- It is abomination. God says so.
So, who are these people in 1 Corinthians Chapter 6 who have done some of these things but can be saved?
- These people will not burn in list towards the same sex.
- The man in 1 Corinthians 6 did not burn in lust towards another man but committed the act.
- The woman in 1 Corinthians 6 did not burn in lust towards another woman but committed the act.
Maybe a woman is saved early in her life, and she can’t find a good husband throughout her life.
- I think this happens often in this world today. She turns to another woman so she has a companion.
- She thinks she “LOVES” this other woman. They do this act but this woman never lusts after the other.
- They continue to stay together and commit these acts, but the saved woman never likes it.
- Hey, listen, this happens all the time. And then do you know what happens to that saved woman?
- God casts her away and turns her flesh over to Satan. Satan destroys her. She dies.
- Her soul goes to heaven because she is saved.
Another example of a group of people in 1 Corinthians Chapter 6 is a young boy who is molested.
- Hey, this happens all the time. It’s happening right now, and it’s sick, wicked, and nasty.
- What do you think that does to a young boy? It confuses the child greatly. Messes them up greatly.
- That young boy, as he grows up, might defile himself with mankind.
- People have confessed to these things. People have told their stories of child molesters.
- They do these things even though they HATE doing these things because they were molested.
- Do I think those people can be saved? Yes I do. They aren’t sodomites. God gives them a chance.
- They could end up sodomites, but it’s their choice.
There Are All Types Of People Who Could Fit 1 Corinthians Chapter 6 But Not Sodomites
There are all types of other examples that could fit 1 Corinthians Chapter 6.
- And yes, in today’s world, this is very important to understand.
- The public schools, for example, are teaching children that it’s okay to be gay. Follow your desires.
- Well, they’re putting these thoughts and desires within their hearts. They talk children into these things.
- Many children experiment and do these things, but they don’t lust after the same sex.
- Can they be saved? Yes, they can. But they better wake up fast.
We don’t know when someone gets to the point of being rejected. For some, it might be fast.
- For others, God might give them more time. Whatever God decides is the right decision and it is fair.
- God does reject people. He says so within the Bible. “The Lord hath REJECTED them.”
- You can see evidence of this rejection within the flaming sodomites.
- Would I give the Gospel to a flaming sodomite? No, I wouldn’t. I would be wasting time.
- If I didn’t know they were a homosexual, would I give them the Gospel? Yes, I would.
- If they aren’t a flaming sodomite, I would give them the Gospel. It can’t hurt. Maybe they have a chance.
Most flaming homosexuals won’t want to hear the true Gospel about the true God anyway.
- If you tell them that God hates the sin of homosexuality and might end up rejecting them and hating them, they will hate you.
- You speak the truth, but they hate you.
- They want to hear about a false god that loves them for this great sin that they love to commit.
- Homosexuals in churches today have a false god with a false gospel.
- They, for some reason, think God loves them while they directly go against His words.
A saved person who wants to commit these acts continuously will be destroyed in this life by God.
- A rejected person will continue to commit these acts and the punishment is God gives them up.
- He says, “Go ahead and have it like you want.” It’s their punishment from God.
- He takes a step back and allows them to fulfill all their evil, nasty, and wicked acts.
- It’s gross and nasty, but that’s what they want. And God allows them to have it.
To end, I hope you now see the truth in the Bible.
- Sodomites, or flaming homosexuals who love these wicked acts, cannot be saved.
- Sodomites burn in their lust one towards another. Sodomites love sodomites.
- People who have committed these acts but do not burn in lust one towards another can be saved.
- These are the group of people in 1 Corinthians Chapter 6.
- Let’s end with one last set of Scripture.
[51] 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
- No matter who you are, if you’re listening right now in an attempt to be saved, you need to receive all the Scriptures today.
- You need to believe them so you might be saved. The Scriptures are loving. You might not like them.
- But they are attempting to save you from death and hell. You don’t want to be damned to hell.
- Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, the real one here in this Bible, and thou shalt be saved.
