[2] The title of the sermon: “ARE YOU SAVED IF YOU BELIEVE YOU CAN LOSE SALVATION?”

  • Let’s say you have always believed that you can lose salvation, and you’ve never changed that belief.
  • Are you going to heaven? Let’s talk about this in detail today because you need to know this.
  • You not only need to know this for yourself, but you need to know this when winning souls to Christ.

[3] 1 John 5:10-11 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

  • In other words, this Scripture is directly related to this sermon.
  • “Are you saved if you believe you can lose salvation?” So, can you lose everlasting life?
  • Can you lose eternal life? Verse 10 clearly says, “He that believeth not God hath made Him a liar.”
  • Do you think you’re going to heaven if you’ve made God out to be a liar your entire life?
  • If you believe someone can lose salvation that God has given them, you make God a liar.

If you make God out to be a liar your entire life, I promise you that you will go to hell.

  • That’s the truth, and yes, the truth hurts. That’s why it’s important to change what you believe.
  • And when should you do that? You should do that right now as we go through these Scriptures.
  • In order to be saved, you must change what you believe.
  • If you believe that someone can lose salvation, you must change that belief.
  • If you won’t do that, you will go to hell when you die.

If you don’t believe the record that God gave of His Son, then you are saying that God’s record is wrong.

  • You are saying that God is the liar. The Bible tells us the truth. The Bible says God cannot lie.
  • So, who would be the liar? WHICH ONE?
  • Is it God who says salvation cannot be lost, or is it the man who says salvation can be lost?

Let’s look closely at these AMAZINGLY important Scriptures right here.

  • These are the Scriptures that saved me because I thought I could lose salvation.
  • I was making God out to be a liar for many years. I didn’t see these words.
  • Once I saw them, I believed them and I was saved in a moment. Look at verse 10 right there.

“He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself.”

  • Focus on the word HATH right there. What’s the definition of the word HATH?
  • It is the present tense of the word HAVE. This means you have the witness within you right now.
  • If you believe on the Son of God, you have the Holy Spirit dwelling within you right now.
  • He will never leave you. You are sealed unto the day of redemption. You have everlasting life right now.

Who has it right now? The beginning of the verse says: “He that believeth on the Son of God.”

  • Let me ask you this. If someone believes they can lose salvation, do they believe on the Son of God?
  • The answer to that is NO. It’s a very clear NO because this Scripture is teaching us this.
  • Let me say this again. If someone believes everlasting life can be lost, they do not believe on Jesus Christ.
  • Why can I say that for sure, 100% without a doubt? Listen to what the Scripture is teaching.

“He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself.”

  • “He that believeth not God hath made him a liar.”
  • “Because he believeth not the record that God gave of His Son.”
  • Now, ask yourself, “What is this record that God gave of His Son?”
  • We need to believe the record that God gave of His Son, OR we make God out to be a liar.
  • So, what is this record that we must believe in order to believe on His Son and to be saved?

Verse 11 says: “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.”

  • There’s the record you need to believe.
  • Believing on the Son of God includes knowing that eternal life is IN HIS SON.
  • Again, the record is that God HATH (present tense, right now) given to us everlasting life.
  • If we believe on His Son, we know that we HAVE everlasting life RIGHT NOW.
  • Why? Because this life is IN HIS SON. We believe IN HIM, and we believe we have everlasting life IN HIM.

If you don’t believe you have eternal life when you believe in His Son, then you haven’t believed in His Son.

  • Do you understand this? Jesus Christ has eternal life. This life is in Him.
  • If you believe in Him, you have this everlasting life.
  • If you believe everlasting life can be lost, then you’ve lost your mind.
  • Once you hear the Scriptures and see the truth, there’s no way you would believe salvation can be lost.
  • Again, you will not go to heaven if you’ve always believed salvation can be lost.
  • So, what must you do right now? Change your belief right now.

[4] 1 John 5:12-13 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

  • You have the Son of God “IF” you have believed on Him.
  • If you believe on Him, you know that He has given you everlasting life.
  • No matter what you do, you cannot lose salvation because the everlasting life is in Him.
  • Once you are in Christ, you cannot lose salvation.
  • If you haven’t believed on Him, you don’t have the Son of God. And you do not have everlasting life.

Verse 13 says, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God.”

  • For all those people who believe that Jesus saves them completely and forever:
  • “Ye may know that ye have eternal life.” YOU MAY KNOW FOR SURE THAT YOU HAVE IT.
  • “And that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
  • Again, if you think you can lose eternal life that God has given you, then you don’t believe His words.
  • You’ve made God out to be a liar, and you are not saved. You do not have salvation.

I didn’t come up with these Scriptures. God Almighty wrote these Scriptures. They came from Him.

  • If you think there are other Scriptures that contradict with this, you should read them closely.
  • You should read the chapter and the entire books to see what God is actually teaching.
  • He never once says that we can lose everlasting life. Lunatics say things like that. God doesn’t.
  • If you have everlasting life, how in the world could you lose it? It wouldn’t be everlasting life.
  • God wouldn’t use the terms everlasting life and eternal life if He didn’t mean it.

And we know that we don’t get eternal life at some later time, such as after we die.

  • We receive everlasting life at the moment we believe on Jesus Christ.
  • We know that He can save us because He paid for our sins. We deserve death and hell.
  • But He became the sacrifice for us. We believe that He did that for us. We know that He can save us.
  • We know that He doesn’t need our help through our own goodness or through our works.
  • We simply change our mind and put all of our trust in Him. Our works do not save us at all.
  • It’s Jesus who completely saves us. He is the Savior of the world. We are not.

We must believe on Him and receive everlasting life BEFORE we die.

  • Most people in “Christian” churches today don’t believe that we receive everlasting life right now.
  • And if they do, they believe you can lose that everlasting life. This means they are not saved.
  • If they have never believed on Jesus Christ, they are not saved. They don’t understand the Gospel.
  • They don’t believe the Gospel. This means they do not have everlasting life.
  • This means it is important for you to teach them the right things.

[5] Romans 8:14-16 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

  • Saved people cannot lose salvation. They are led by the Spirit of God. THEY “ARE” THE SONS OF GOD.
  • Right now they are the sons of God. They have already received the Spirit of adoption.
  • Their Father is now God. They have the witness within themselves.
  • “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we ARE the children of God.”
  • Paul wasn’t dead when he wrote this. He’s saying, RIGHT NOW, we are the children of God.
  • And that will never change. We are NOW the children of God forever.

[6] Galatians 4:4-7 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. 6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. 7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

  • And because ye are sons (RIGHT NOW), God sent forth the Holy Spirit of HIS SON into your hearts.
  • So, if you are actually saved, you will know you are saved. You will know you can’t lose everlasting life.
  • God is my Father now, and I will never be able to change that.
  • NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, HE IS MY FATHER AND I AM HIS SON.
  • We are heirs of God through Jesus Christ.

Now, let me ask you this. Are these Scriptures clear about us being saved right now? Yes, they are very clear.

  • If we could lose everlasting life, these Scriptures wouldn’t make any sense.
  • The entire Bible wouldn’t make any sense. And God would be a liar if He actually didn’t mean eternal life.

[7] Colossians 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

  • The everlasting life that God gave me is HID WITH CHRIST IN GOD.
  • How will it ever be taken away? No man, including me, is able to take me out of the hand of God.

[8] 2 Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

  • We look at the things which are not seen because they are eternal.
  • That’s the last verse in 2 Corinthians Chapter 4. Listen to the next verse in 2 Corinthians Chapter 5.

[9] 2 Corinthians 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

  • Hey, listen, if everything we have here on this earth is completely destroyed, we’re not finished.
  • If everything dissolved away that we can see, we still have everlasting life.
  • We have a building of God, an house NOT MADE WITH HANDS, eternal in the heavens.
  • We can’t keep our eternal life by being good in this flesh. Our physical hands do not keep eternal life.
  • Who keeps everlasting life for us? JESUS CHRIST. He is God. If He doesn’t take it away, no one does.

Who is any human who says God takes away everlasting life? Who do they think they are?

  • Who is a liar but a preacher who says that you can lose everlasting life?
  • Why are we going over this? Because most so-called “Christians” don’t believe the Scriptures.
  • All of you, who I know, do believe the Scriptures. I know that you believe you have everlasting life.
  • So, why am I teaching this? You might think you already know all of this and will take a nap instead.

[10] John 10:28-30 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and my Father are one.

  • We teach these things because you need to know them very well.
  • You need to know the Scriptures. You need to confirm your faith in the Scriptures constantly.
  • But what other reason should you know these things? To win souls to Jesus Christ who is eternal.
  • He is the eternal God. He is the Son of God. He gives eternal life because He has the eternal life to give.

This is important for winning souls to Jesus Christ. To win souls they need to understand salvation is eternal.

  • Read closely what John Chapter 10 says here. Jesus Himself says, “And I give unto them eternal life.”
  • It doesn’t matter what anyone else says. It matters what Jesus Christ says.
  • He gives the eternal life. No one else does. No one else is in control of eternal life.
  • Jesus is eternal. The life He gives us when we believe in Him is eternal.

Jesus, the eternal one, says: “And they shall NEVER perish.” What does that mean to you?

  • Never means never. Everlasting means everlasting. Eternal means eternal.
  • “Neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”
  • “And NO MAN is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.”
  • What’s a man going to do to lose salvation when God says it’s not possible?

[11] 1 Samuel 2:8-9 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’S, and he hath set the world upon them. 9 He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.

  • Verse 9 says, AGAIN: “He will keep the feet of His saints.” God keeps salvation for us.
  • We aren’t the owners. God is the owner of eternal life. Life only comes through Him.
  • If salvation could be lost, that would mean that God is too weak to keep the feet of His saints.
  • He’s not too weak. There’s no one or nothing combined anywhere that is stronger than Him.
  • “For by strength shall no man prevail.” When God says something, nothing will change it.
  • I want to make sure you see these Scriptures in the Old Testament too.

Salvation has always been everlasting life. When king Saul was saved, he received everlasting life.

  • When king David was saved, he received everlasting life.
  • When king Solomon was saved, he received everlasting life.
  • The first 3 kings of Israel. God chose them as His kings.
  • If they could have lost everlasting life, they would have lost it.

[12] Psalm 37:28-29 For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. 29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.

  • God does not forsake us. “And forsaketh NOT His saints.”
  • What does verse 28 say? “THEY ARE PRESERVED FOREVER.” Forever means forever.

[13] Psalm 125:1-2 They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. 2 As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.

  • They that trust in the Lord abideth forever. This means they live forever.
  • The Lord is round about HIS PEOPLE forever. His people are those who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Think about this. King Saul, king David, and king Solomon were 100% saved people.

What did they do, though? King Saul didn’t obey the Lord. He murdered his own people.

  • He had murder in his heart. He wanted David dead multiple times. He killed himself.
  • David committed adultery. He had Uriah murdered. Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines.
  • Solomon built temples to false gods. They were God’s people, though, because they trusted in Him.

Did they trust in Him at all times? No, you can see this. Why? Because their flesh isn’t perfect.

  • You can read about all the troubles they had with trusting in the Lord at times.
  • But, at other times, they did trust in the Lord and they did seek the Lord.
  • Same thing with John, Peter, Paul. Same thing with Abraham, Sarah, Jacob, Rachel, Leah.
  • We aren’t perfect people because of this flesh. If we could lose salvation, we would lose it.
  • But thank God that He keeps salvation for us. This is why salvation cannot be lost.

[14] Proverbs 24:16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

  • We mess up, but get back up. Why? Because God helps us get back up.
  • Without His help, we wouldn’t get back up. I would be dead right now without God’s help.
  • And I’m not just saying this. It’s the truth. I should be dead and would be dead without Jesus Christ.

Is it very important to understand you cannot lose salvation and believe that you cannot lose it?

  • Yes, it is of UTMOST IMPORTANCE.
  • If you want to be saved, you better believe that Jesus Christ gives you eternal life that cannot be lost.
  • If you won’t believe that, you make God a liar.
  • For some reason, so-called “Christians” are blinded to the Scriptures.
  • They will believe twisted interpretations of difficult Scriptures, but won’t believe clear Scriptures.
  • The Gospel of John is filled with clear Scriptures. The Book of Romans is filled with clear Scriptures.

[15] Romans 8:31-33 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.

  • Who justifies us? If it were us, then salvation would be of our works. But we can’t justify ourselves.
  • If God is for us because we’ve had faith in Him, then who can be against us?
  • How in the world would we be able to lose salvation if God is for us?
  • God Almighty spared not His own Son. Why? Because God so loved the world. The whole world.
  • Everyone God has loved. So what did He do? He delivered up His own Son for us all.

He “FREELY GIVES” us all things. Did you pay Him for this life you’re living every second right now?

  • Did you pay Him for all the oxygen supply that you’ve used in your life so far?
  • Did you pay Him for all the food and water that you’ve taken from Him?
  • What about the jobs that He’s given you the ability to do?
  • Did you pay Him for the abilities that He gave you? All of you have gifts that came from Him?
  • Did you pay for those? He gave them to you freely. What about the land you live on? Did you pay Him?

One man we talked to briefly during soul winning said that he was going to call the property manager on us.

  • “Oh no!!! What are we ever going to do?” GOD IS THE PROPERTY MANAGER. Do you understand this?
  • That property that those apartments are located on is God’s property. He just allows us all to live here.
  • The entire earth is the Lord’s. “For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s.”
  • He doesn’t charge you property taxes to live here. He doesn’t charge you any taxes. MAN DOES.

Man loves money. God doesn’t need your money. He simply wants your trust.

  • And if you simply trust in Him, He gives you even more. No work required to go to heaven. NONE.
  • He says, “If you believe in Jesus Christ, He will give you everlasting life.” And that’s it.
  • If you want to argue with that, you’ll be arguing face to face with God Almighty. You lose.

“Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.”

  • My soul will be charged with nothing from the moment I believed in Jesus Christ forever.
  • This is amazing, and this is only something that God could do. Nothing is too hard for Him.
  • But people who profess to follow Him sure won’t believe it. Why not? Listen to this.

[16] Romans 8:34-35 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

  • Are you going to condemn the saved and charge sin to their soul? God already took care of it.
  • It is Christ that died. It is Christ that is risen again. It is Christ that is at the right hand of God.
  • It is Christ who makes intercession for us. IT IS NOT US. It is Christ the King and Lord of Lords.
  • I don’t have to worry about going to hell anymore. If this Scripture weren’t true, I would go to hell.
  • But I know that Jesus Christ has saved me to the uttermost. There’s no chance in hell of me going to hell.
  • No chance. 0% probability. Not going to happen. Why? Because I trust in the ROCK who cannot be broken.

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” Are you going to do it? You can’t. Who are you? You can’t do it.

  • It’s absolutely impossible. Who shall separate us from the love of Jesus Christ?
  • Shall tribulation? No. Shall distress? No. Shall persecution? No. Shall famine? No.
  • Shall nakedness? No. Shall peril? No. Shall sword? No. You can kill my body dead.
  • You can obliterate me completely. Still not dead. Jesus says that I will live forever.
  • No matter what. I will live forever because I love Him and trust Him with all my heart, soul, and mind.
  • Who will cut me off from Jesus Christ? Can I do it? No, I can’t. He has me now.

Do you know this? Will you share this with others? Will you tell them the truth? Tell them about Jesus Christ.

  • Be bold as a lion. Don’t be afraid. Jesus Christ is with you. You are in Jesus Christ.
  • Nothing means nothing. Nothing can separate you from the love of Christ. NOTHING.
  • No one. No thing. No spirit. No devil. No Satan. NOTHING. You are in Jesus Christ now.

[17] Romans 8:36-39 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  • God loves us forever because we trust in Him. We believe in Jesus Christ. We know He has saved us.
  • And nothing will stop God’s love for us now. NOTHING. I know nothing can stop Him from loving all of us.
  • Death can’t. Life can’t. Angels can’t. Principalities can’t stop God’s love for us.
  • All the powers in existence can’t stop it. They don’t have a prayer in stopping God’s love for us.
  • Nothing here in this world today right now, the present, can stop it.

Nothing that’s going to come in the future can separate us from God’s love. Our own actions can’t stop it.

  • Height can’t stop it. Do you know how far the height of the galaxies actually go? There’s no end in sight.
  • Look up and there’s no end. That amount of height can’t stop God’s love for us.
  • Depth? Same thing. Can’t do it. There’s no creature, such as Satan, who can stop God’s love for us.
  • He can’t separate us from the love of God. Devils can’t do it. The sin you commit in your flesh can’t do it.

Have you ever thought about why all of this is impossible now? You are in Jesus Christ now.

  • Why? It’s not your greatness. It’s simply because you put your faith in Him alone.
  • I know that He has already given you and I everlasting life that we cannot lose. THROUGH FAITH ALONE.
  • Can faith save him? 100%, yes, for sure. A man saying he has faith doesn’t save him, though.
  • The man must actually have faith.
  • And if you don’t believe you have everlasting life that cannot be lost, then you don’t have faith.
  • So, if you still believe you can lose everlasting life, you better change your belief right now.
  • Because your belief in Jesus Christ is what saves you. I would change my mind in a hurry. Right now.
  • Today. Don’t go another moment without believing in the everlasting life that Jesus gives.

[18] 1 Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

  • God has begotten us. We are His children now. By what? How are we His children now?
  • By the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
  • And we know the resurrection of Jesus Christ is His soul rising out of hell and meeting with His body from the tomb.
  • Jesus arose from the dead. And because of our faith alone in His sacrifice, we receive what?
  • Verse 4 says, “To an inheritance INCORRUPTIBLE, and UNDEFILED, and that fadeth not away.”

Do you know how everything in this world eventually fades away? Yes, I am fading away.

  • Pick a flower, as I did with Emma Jo the other day, and you’ll see them fade away after a little while.
  • You’re fading away. Your body is slowly failing you over time. My body is slowly failing over time.
  • For the wages of sin is death. You know I’m a sinner because I’m fading away.
  • But, there’s someone who never fades away and that is Jesus Christ. He gives us an inheritance.
  • Why? Because we are His children. That inheritance is everlasting life that NEVER fades away.

He has reserved our place in heaven for us. Thanks be to God. Thanks be to Jesus Christ.

  • We are kept by the POWER OF GOD all because we have faith in Him.
  • He’s ready and excited to show us what He has for His children. He knows how to give good gifts.
  • Have you not realized the great gifts that He’s already given you.

How much greater are the things that He has in store for those who believe in His Son?

  • He does all the good for us in our life. He preserves our salvation and keeps it for us.
  • Our reservation is already set. He doesn’t take it away. He doesn’t run out of room.
  • He doesn’t charge us any fees or any rates for this reservation. He freely gives. Try it some time.
  • Why don’t we freely give back to God as He freely gives to us. Is there anything more important? No.

[19] Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

  • Why does God live? He lives for us. He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today.
  • Eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ the King. None other is so loving, so good, and kind.
  • You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart. The Spirit of Christ is with us.
  • If we have the Spirit of God with us, how in the world would we lose salvation? You can’t lose it.
  • He ever liveth to make intercession for us. Why? Because we still mess up constantly.
  • That’s us. Our flesh is not good. We need Jesus Christ. He has saved us to the uttermost.

[20] Jude 1-2 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called: 2 Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.

  • Every word of God is true. We are sanctified at the moment we believe in Jesus Christ.
  • We are PRESERVED (past tense) in Jesus Christ. And now you are called to do good works.
  • If you don’t, you already have everlasting life but why would you do nothing for God?

Maybe you haven’t stopped and thought about what He’s done for you.

  • Maybe you don’t remember things. Maybe you’ve forgotten. Maybe you need to think about it again.
  • Now that you’re saved, it’s time to understand what’s actually important.

Doing God’s works that He wants you to do is the most important thing now.

  • You’re saved already. Now it’s time to do some work for Him. He doesn’t require it of you.
  • But maybe you could give just a little bit of effort for the life that He’s given you.
  • He’s given you everything for free. How about just a little work for Him?

[21] Jude 24-25 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

  • Have you ever won someone to Jesus Christ? I know many of you have.
  • If you’re of Jesus Christ, I know you were excited. This leads to much joy.
  • Jesus Christ died for you, and He can’t with to present you faultless with EXCEEDING JOY.
  • I can guarantee you right now that no one is happier when someone is saved than Jesus Christ.
  • Joy and happiness comes from Him so you can imagine how happy He is when someone is saved.

Why would He be so happy? He loves you. Once you’re saved, He keeps you from falling.

  • He will, 100% without a doubt, present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.
  • God is the only Savior. Be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both NOW and EVER. Amen.
  • God isn’t going away. He’s here to save. And He did the job already. Just believe in Him.
  • Hear, understand, believe, and know that you have everlasting life than can’t be lost.

So, when you talk to people about Jesus Christ, and you give them the Gospel, a very important part of the Gospel is the part about everlasting life.

  • So make sure people understand this. They need to understand this.
  • You would say, “So, do you believe you have everlasting life right now?”
  • They might say, “Yes, I do.”
  • You would ask, “So, if you did something really bad tomorrow, would you lose everlasting life?”
  • They might say, “Yes, I think I would lose it.”

Then it’s time to keep explaining until they get it and believe it. Use the Scriptures.

  • 1 John 5:10-13 that we started with today is a great place to start. Use examples from the Bible.
  • Remember the book of Jude. It’s short and sweet.
  • Use it if you can’t remember where another Scripture is located.
  • Memorize the Scriptures. Store them up in your heart. Write them on the tables of your heart.

You can use the so-called “extreme” examples too. You can use king Saul, king David, king Solomon.

  • That’s why God put these examples in the Bible. They are there so you can win souls to Jesus Christ.
  • The example of Peter is there so you can win souls to Jesus Christ. Paul is there.
  • Maybe you don’t remember who Paul was. He was Saul. He consented to Stephen’s death.
  • He persecuted the church of God BEYOND MEASURE. Do you understand all of this?
  • We aren’t perfect. If we could lose everlasting life, not one man or woman would be in heaven.

But heaven is filled right now with people like king Saul, king David, king Solomon, Peter, and Paul.

  • They all got there the same way. If they could have lost salvation, they would have.
  • But they had a soft heart and a tender neck. They weren’t stiffnecked 100% of the time.
  • They humbled themselves before God and put all their trust in Him. That’s how they made it to heaven.
  • They didn’t lose everlasting life once. They got it, and kept it forever all because God is the keeper.
  • We are not. We don’t own it. We don’t keep it. We don’t care for it. God does all of this for us.

Just as we don’t make the sun rise or set. God does. Just as we didn’t hang the earth on nothing and keep it there.

  • We can’t. And keeping everlasting life is even more difficult than hanging the earth on nothing.
  • If you could keep everlasting life yourself, you would be God Almighty. Only He can do it.
  • And this is the reason you can’t lose salvation. It is everlasting, and it never ends.

[22] 1 John 5:10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

If you can’t see this after this sermon, you’ve got a big issue. It’s time to change your beliefs.

  • And if not, you don’t want to know what’s going to happen. Hell will not be fun. It’s real. It’s torment.
  • So, please, whatever you do, don’t go another second without changing your beliefs.
  • The Bible is very clear on everlasting life. The Bible is very clear that salvation is eternal life.
  • Change your mind, start giving the Gospel, and make sure you teach them about everlasting life.
  • Again, this is of utmost importance. Teach them the right things.

Let’s pray.
