[2] The title of the sermon: “SINLESS PERFECTION.”
Do “Christians” Sin After They’re Saved?
- Did you know that some so-called “Christians” believe that they don’t sin anymore?
- There’s this false doctrine of sinless perfection that is HUGE in this world today.
- These are the modern day scribes and Pharisees who teach that they are whited walls.
- They say that they don’t sin anymore.
- When I confess that I still sin every day, they call me a child of the devil.
[3] Matthew 23:25-26 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. 26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
[4] Matthew 23:27-28 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. 28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
- These people who want to teach and preach that they are perfect in their flesh are ignorant of the Bible.
- They are the modern day scribes and Pharisees who profess to be so perfect.
- They’ll put on a good show for you. They’ll spew all of the lies out of their mouths.
- The truth is they are full of extortion and excess. They are whited sepulchres or tombs.
They are a modern day flipped house which looks great on the outside but has rotten wood behind the walls.
- They are like a nasty tomb with a headstone that costs tens of thousands of dollars.
- It looks great on the outside. They are full of all uncleanness.
- They appear so outwardly righteous unto men. But we know that they are evil and wicked.
- They are the children of the devil. They are not the children of God.
- They say things like: “Well, since I was saved I don’t sin any more. In my body, I don’t sin anymore.”
- YEAH RIGHT. You aren’t fooling anyone but your own mind. You aren’t fooling me. I trust God’s words.
[5] Acts 23:1-3 And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day. 2 And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth. 3 Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law?
- You will never hear that we don’t sin here. Is it okay to sin? No, it’s not but we won’t act like whited walls.
- We won’t act as if we’re perfect here because we’re in this flesh which is not perfect.
- SINLESS PERFECTION is a false doctrine that is all over the so-called “Christian” churches today.
- There are lots and lots of whited walls out there that call themselves “Christian” churches.
- They appear so beautiful on the outside but inside they are full of evil and wickedness.
And why are they full of evil and wickedness on the inside? What makes them so evil and wicked?
- They haven’t believed “IN” the Lord Jesus Christ. They haven’t trusted Him alone.
- They usually trust all of their so-called works of righteousness.
- They’ll even say, “Well I am saved by faith but saving faith includes all of my good works.”
- They don’t make any sense at all. Let’s get this straight today: Faith doesn’t include works AT ALL.
- If faith included your great works, then it wouldn’t be faith.
[6] Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
- Understand right now that all of “OUR” righteousnesses are as filthy rags before God.
- We are nothing compared to the righteousness of Jesus Christ.
- None of our works compare to the righteousness of God Almighty. Why?
- Because He’s never done ANYTHING wrong. But we have. All of us.
- And we continue to do wrong our entire life.
These modern day scribes and Pharisees can’t understand simple words within the Bible.
- But they love to use BIG WORDS so they can show you how smart they happen to be.
- Yet, they can’t understand simple words like grace, faith, saved, everlasting.
- Many of them believe that once we’re saved that we’re going to be so much greater.
- Many of them believe that we won’t sin any more.
- They will tell you that their works prove that they’re saved.
- Oh yeah, well the oh so righteous Pharisees said the same thing. The “great” scribes said the same thing.
Today, we’re going to look at some of the Scriptures these oh so righteous “Christians” love to use.
- I’m going to show you how they twist the Scriptures so you aren’t deceived ever again.
- They love to use Scriptures within books of the Bible that are teaching the opposite of what they teach.
- The Book of 1 John is an amazing book. It’s the book that saved me.
- And it’s not a simple and easy book to understand in all places for young Christians.
- So the unsaved, as they always do, take difficult passages and twist them all up.
- And yet, they ignore the easy and clear Scriptures within the same book.
- Let’s take a look at 1 John Chapter 3 today.
[7] 1 John 3:4-6 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
- Notice where verse 6 right there says, “Whosoever abideth in Him sinneth not.”
- “Whosoever sinneth hath not seen Him, neither known Him.”
- These false preachers will then say: “Do you sin?”
- And if you answer yes, they say: “Well you aren’t saved.”
“I Don’t Sin Any More”
And then you ask them: “Do you sin?” And they look you right in the face and say:
- “Since I was saved, I don’t sin anymore.” They look you right in the eye and lie to your face.
- They have lost touch with reality. They ignore and minimize everything they do wrong.
- But they’ll look at you from their whited wall and show you how much you sin.
- So, let’s keep going and the Bible will explain all of this for us.
- They miss verse 5 right there. Notice exactly what verse 5 says:
- “And ye know that HE was manifested to take away our sins, and IN HIM is no sin.”
- We have sin. Jesus Christ doesn’t. We are sinners all the time. Jesus Christ isn’t.
- Again, the Bible clearly says right there: “AND IN HIM IS NO SIN.”
- If we are IN HIM, then we have no sin in our souls. Obviously, reality shows us that we all sin in our flesh.
[8] Romans 7:14-16 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. 16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
- We are all carnal or FLESHLY just like all humans. ALL OF US ARE CARNAL and SOLD UNDER SIN.
- Make sure you realize who is speaking right here and when he is speaking these things.
- And understand that he is speaking all these things through the Holy Ghost who is God Almighty.
- Everything written here is the word of God. But who is writing these things? Who is the example here?
PAUL IS WRITING THIS. When was he writing these things? Was it before or after he was saved?
- Definitely, 100% without a doubt, Paul is writing these things AFTER he was saved with everlasting life.
- Would anyone argue that point? Is Paul a saved man or not when he writes these things?
- Paul says that he is carnal at that time right there. He is sold under sin.
- “For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not.” He doesn’t allow sin. He hates sin.
He doesn’t allow sin as if sin is something good. He knows that sin is not good. He hates sin, but he still sins.
- Is that not what Paul VERY CLEARLY admits right there? YES IT IS.
- He says so right there. “For that which I do I allow not. But what I hate, that I do.”
- You should HATE SIN as a true Christian. You should hate it and abhor it with everything you have.
- And it won’t be you and your flesh hating sin, it will be the spirit of God within you that will hate sin.
[9] Romans 7:17-19 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
- Paul says that SIN IS IN HIS FLESH. And since he can’t get rid of his flesh without dying, he’s a sinner.
- SIN DWELLS WITHIN HIM. This is what the Holy Ghost tells us right there.
- Paul couldn’t get rid of sin because he was carnal and sold under sin. Why? Because he’s in his flesh.
- You can’t get rid of this shell of flesh unless you die.
He says in verse 18, “For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing.”
- He’s not talking about his spirit and soul. He’s talking about his flesh. There dwells no good thing.
- But not with the oh so righteous “Christians” of today’s world. They are much greater than Paul.
- They have flesh that is perfect. They are just like Jesus right now in their flesh. That’s what they say.
- And they’re wrong. There isn’t one example of a perfect Christian in the Bible as they profess to be.
- NOT ONE EXAMPLE. Paul admits to us that he still sins in his flesh.
“For to will is present with me.” He has the will to do right because he is a saved Christian.
- “But how to perform that which is good I find not.” In his flesh, he cannot do good. Do you understand?
- Our flesh doesn’t want things that God wants. Our flesh wants things for ourselves. Our flesh is selfish.
- God is not selfish at all. God’s Spirit is not selfish at all. Our flesh is very carnal and sinful.
- And Paul says right there towards the end of verse 19:
- “But THE EVIL which I would not, that I do.”
- So, after Paul was saved, did he continue to do evil or not? In his flesh, he did evil.
- In his spirit and soul, he did not do evil because he was a saved man.
[10] Romans 7:20-23 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
- His flesh is what sins. Sin dwells within his flesh.
- When He chooses to do good, evil is still present within him.
- Verse 21 says: “I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.”
- The evil is still there because he still has his flesh. He doesn’t have a new and perfect body like Jesus.
- He doesn’t yet have a new and glorified body like Jesus the firstfruits.
- Paul hasn’t been resurrected from the dead and given a brand new body like Jesus Christ.
- His first flesh that is very sinful has not yet died. So what happens then?
Verse 22 tells us that there is the law of God abiding within Paul as well.
- “For I delight in the law of God after the inward man.” He has the law of God within Him now.
- Paul has the indwelling of the Holy Spirit within him.
- But he also still has his fleshly body just like we do right now.
- If you’ve believed with all your heart on Jesus Christ, you’re just like Paul in this example.
- You have the Holy Spirit of God within you, and you delight to hear God’s words and His law.
The Flesh Wars Against The Spirit Constantly
Verse 23 says: “But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind.”
- His members is his flesh. His flesh is warring against God’s law within his mind.
- And this ither fleshly law brings him into captivity to the law of sin which is in his members.
- PAUL SAYS THESE THINGS VERY CLEARLY. Paul is a sinner because he’s still in his flesh.
- There’s a war going on within him each and every day. And he gets to make a choice every day.
[11] Romans 7:24-25 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
- Paul says, “Who shall deliver me from THE BODY OF THIS DEATH.” Your body is heading for death.
- Is it not? If all these so-called righteous Christians didn’t sin any more, they would now be perfect.
- But it sure is funny there is no example of that within the Bible anywhere.
- Is there an example of SINLESS PERFECTION within the Bible besides Jesus Christ?
- Wouldn’t you think Paul would be one of those perfect and sinless Christians if there were any?
- NEWS FLASH. A sinless and perfect person in this flesh we have today doesn’t exist. Never has.
- None of the people within the Bible were perfect in their flesh. NONE. There are none good but God.
If your body and flesh was made perfect once you’re saved, then why are these righteous “Christians” dying?
- Why is Kenneth Copeland getting older and older and going to die soon?
- Why are these righteous “Christians” dying? Why are all the Pharisees dead?
- Wake up to reality. The Bible tells us that the wages of sin is death. Our bodies are sinful until we die.
- SIN DWELLS WITHIN OUR FLESH. That’s why we can’t be perfect.
- Our flesh isn’t made perfect when we’re saved. If it were, we wouldn’t die.
- We wouldn’t get sick. We wouldn’t get headaches. We wouldn’t feel bad. We would be perfect.
Can you show me a perfect person today? Go ahead and try. You won’t find one. Doesn’t exist.
- The Bible always matches with reality. You’ll find a lot of people that think they’re perfect.
- Seventh Day Adventists for example. They say that they don’t sin any more.
- They are a joke of a so-called “Christian” denomination.
- It’s difficult for a person to be saved when they think they’re perfect and don’t sin.
- They are better Christians than the Apostle Paul. They are better Christians than the Apostle John.
[12] 1 John 1:5-7 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
- In God, there is no darkness at all. But in us, there is darkness. Paul just taught us this.
- God just showed us this. GOD IS LIGHT. We aren’t the light. We need the light to light our paths.
- IN HIM THERE IS NO DARKNESS. We can’t walk with Him and walk with darkness.
- Notice at the very end of verse 7: “And the blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth us from all sin.”
- But we just learned that Paul has sin dwelling within his flesh. So his flesh isn’t cleansed from all sin.
So what in the world is this talking about? JESUS CHRIST saves our soul from sin.
- When we die, our body doesn’t go to heaven with us. Our fleshly body cannot enter into heaven.
- But our soul can enter into heaven because Jesus has saved our soul from sin and cleanses our soul.
- Let me repeat this. OUR SOULS ARE CLEANSED FROM ALL SIN. Not our flesh. It’s so obvious.
- My flesh is dying right now. Paul’s flesh was dying. His flesh wasn’t perfect. My flesh isn’t perfect.
- Your flesh isn’t perfect. Our flesh is what causes us to sin because sin dwells within our flesh.
[13] 1 John 1:8-10 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
- Let’s read verse 8 slowly once more. “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves.”
- “And the truth is not in us.” Is that easy to understand or not? VERY EASY.
- But yet, people will use this same book and attempt to say that they don’t sin any more.
- SINLESS PERFECTION they have become. Did they miss 1 John Chapter 1?
- Verse 10 says it again: “If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”
- And yes, that means every single day. If you say that you don’t sin, you make God out to be a liar.
You Will Never Be Sinless In Your Flesh Because You Aren’t God
He’s telling you over and over again throughout the Bible that you will never be perfect in this body.
- And yet, you have all these false preachers out there teaching people that they can be perfect.
- “YOU CAN BE SINLESS IN YOUR FLESH RIGHT NOW. Your entire body will be healed of everything.”
- Well, look, the Bible teaches us that SIN will always dwell within our flesh. And that’s a sickness.
- So, whose the liar? Is God the liar or all these false teachers the liars? Hint: God isn’t the liar.
[14] Romans 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
- Paul says with his mind he serves the law of God but with the flesh he serves the law of sin.
- And he admitted that he still does the things in his flesh that he doesn’t want to do.
- He still does the things that he hates. He is still a sinner in his flesh.
[15] Romans 8:1-2 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
- There’s a war within you, but you have a choice to walk not after the flesh.
- You can choose to walk after the Spirit which is now within you. This is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
- God doesn’t make you into a robot and now you just do whatever He tells you to do.
- Is that reality? NO, THAT’S NOT REALITY. We all get choices every second of the day.
- Jesus Christ has made us free to choose to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh.
[16] Galatians 5:15-17 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. 16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
- Why would the Bible command us to walk in the Spirit and not the flesh?
- The Bible is talking to saved believers right here who have everlasting life.
- Why would the Bible tell us that we have a choice to walk in the Spirit and not the flesh?
[17] Galatians 5:25-26 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
- Let us not choose to walk in the flesh. WALK IN THE SPIRIT. Choose ye this day whom ye will serve.
- We have a choice ALWAYS. We can choose to do good or not.
[18] 1 Corinthians 15:31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
- We must die to our flesh daily. We must choose each day to walk in the Spirit and not the flesh.
- We will not sin if we walk in the Spirit, and we can do that for periods of time.
- But we can’t stay perfect. We will sin. But we must give it our best shot. We must do our best each day.
- It’s not okay to sin. God hates sin. When we sin in our flesh, we should ask forgiveness immediately.
- We should do our best to get better by walking in the Spirit and loving spiritual things.
- We need to hate fleshly things that are carnal. They lead to sin.
- But the Spirit of God doesn’t lead us to sin.
[19] Romans 8:3-4 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
- Why do you think Jesus Christ came in the flesh? He came to condemn sin in the flesh.
- That’s why He is “THE SAVIOR.” And that’s why our works IN OUR FLESH don’t save us at all.
- Our flesh just condemns us. Our flesh doesn’t help us work our way to heaven. Do you understand this?
- Make sure you’re understanding this. This is why salvation is not of works.
- Why? Because our works are in our flesh and they are like filthy rags before God.
- Our flesh will NEVER please God. After we’re saved, our flesh does not please God.
When we walk after the Spirit and not the flesh, then we please God and do good works.
- It’s not the flesh that’s doing these good works. It’s the Spirit of God leading us into these good works.
- We become spiritual and not fleshly when we walk after the Spirit and not the flesh.
- We can ONLY do works of righteousness IF we have the Spirit of God within us.
- People who are not saved with the Spirit of God cannot please God.
- Without faith, it is impossible to please Him. You don’t walk in the Spirit without faith.
[20] Romans 8:5-7 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
[21] Romans 8:8-9 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
- We’re all in the flesh, right? We all have a body of flesh or we wouldn’t be alive right here right now.
- This means when you’re saved, you can choose to walk in the Spirit or the flesh.
- When you choose the flesh, you will sin. You’re not choosing God first. You aren’t allowing Him to lead.
- If you have the Spirit of God within you, you are saved and you are HIS. You are a child of God forever.
Sin Is Living Within Your Flesh
But in this flesh, while it’s still alive, sin is dwelling within that flesh. It’s a war within.
- And you get to win that war each day by choosing to walk in the Spirit.
- You lose that war when you choose to walk in the flesh. It’s your choice. God doesn’t make you a robot.
- And please tell me if what I’m preaching doesn’t match reality.
- It does because it’s coming from God’s word.
- Now, with all that said, let’s go back to 1 John Chapter 3 and read again.
[22] 1 John 3:4-6 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
- Did Paul know Jesus Christ? Did Paul sin after he was saved? YES HE DID.
- He tells us that clearly and directly. Paul saw Jesus in person.
- Did King David sin after he was saved? YES HE DID. Did Peter sin after he was saved? YES HE DID.
- Did King Saul sin after he was saved? YES HE DID. He sinned so much that God took Him out of this life.
- Saul went to heaven. Did King Solomon sin after he was saved? YES HE DID. He sinned greatly.
Did Solomon know God? Of course he did. He wrote books of the Bible.
- But yet, he turned away from God. He chose to walk in the flesh and sin greatly. But he went to heaven.
- I want you to hear this and see this today.
- As we read this, I want you to think about your judgement of Christians.
- I want you to tell me if you watched Solomon when he was old if you would judge him as going to heaven or to hell.
[23] 1 Kings 11:1-2 But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites; 2 Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.
[24] 1 Kings 11:3-4 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart. 4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.
- When Solomon was old, he turned away his heart after other gods. Do you see that? Okay.
[25] 1 Kings 11:5-6 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. 6 And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.
- And Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord. Make sure you see that.
[26] 1 Kings 11:7-8 Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon. 8 And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.
[27] 1 Kings 11:9-10 And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice, 10 And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.
- So, let me ask the oh so righteous and sinless “Christians of today’s world:
- Are you better than King Solomon? Where’s your book of the Bible? Do you have one?
- Did you write Proverbs? Did you write Ecclesiastes? Are you the wisest man to live?
- Did God appear unto you twice and teach you face to face?
Are you better than Paul? Paul was a sinner. But you aren’t? Are you better than Peter?
- Peter denied Jesus Christ 3 times after everything he saw. And you’re better than that, right?
- You never do anything wrong? Give me a break, man. Are you serious?
- A foolish thought is a sin. You are so amazing that you never have a foolish thought?
- YOU NEVER SIN? You’re not deceiving anyone else but yourself.
- Sinless perfection in this fleshly and carnal body doesn’t exist for any of us.
So, if you were watching Solomon in his old age, would you think he’s going to heaven or hell?
- Obviously, we can’t see the faith of Solomon. But we would have seen his evil works.
- He did evil in the sight of the Lord. We would think he was headed for hell.
- We would then have looked on the Pharisees and thought they were great.
- We can’t see that their insides were filled with evil and wickedness.
- They would look like great “Christians” to most people. But King David was an adulterer and murderer.
- Samson killed himself and took many people with him. He would be called a terrorist in today’s evil world.
The great scribes with all their big words would look great to people in today’s world.
- And they do. All the so-called “great men of god” in the seminaries are seen as great “Christians.”
- But they deny God’s word in almost every way possible. But they see themselves as amazing “Christians.”
Do Your Works Prove That You’re Saved? If They Do, You Sure Aren’t Saved!
So, do all your works prove if you’re saved or not? You tell me. OF COURSE NOT.
- It all depends on which day and time you’re watching someone. Think about it.
- Think of some of the worst times in your life when you were walking in the flesh.
- Would I have looked at you and thought: “That man sure isn’t saved?”
- Think about your best times. Would I have looked at you and thought, “that man is definitely saved?”
When I choose to walk in the flesh, you’ll think I’m not saved.
- When I choose to walk in the Spirit, you’ll think I’m saved.
- I could deceive you and act as if I’m walking in the Spirit but I don’t even have the Spirit.
- This is why knowing and understanding the Bible is so important.
- Judas Iscariot deceived all of the disciples. He didn’t deceive Jesus Christ, though.
- We all would have thought Judas Iscariot was a great man of God. But he wasn’t.
- We can’t see faith but God can see faith. He doesn’t need our works AT ALL.
- Salvation is not of works. NOT OF WORKS. NOT OF WORKS. NOT OF WORKS.
- Knowing all of these things from the Bible, let’s read 1 John Chapter 3 again.
[28] 1 John 3:4-6 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
- If we abide in Jesus Christ, then we sinneth not. Is that the truth? Yes, 100% without a doubt.
- If we abide in Jesus Christ and walk in the spirit, we will not sin.
- If we walk in the flesh, our body sins but our soul does not sin because we are saved.
- If this meant that our flesh never sins, that wouldn’t match with ANY OF THE BIBLE.
- But people choose to take that interpretation and run with it while ignoring the entire Bible.
[29] 1 John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
- You cannot do works of righteousness without the righteousness of Jesus Christ imputed unto you.
- You cannot do works of righteousness without being saved and walking after the Spirit of Christ.
- HE IS RIGHTEOUS. We are not. HE IS RIGHTEOUS. We are not. And yes, I repeated that for a reason.
- Some people aren’t getting this so I repeat this. HE IS RIGHTEOUS. You are not righteous.
- Why? Because you have this flesh warring against your spirit.
[30] 1 John 3:8-9 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
- These false preachers will take these Scriptures and do their absolute best to deceive everyone they can.
- “if you commit sin, you are of the devil.” Your flesh is sinful. I don’t want this flesh. I hate this flesh.
- Because we are sinful, what did God do for us? Verse 8 tells us EXACTLY.
- “FOR THIS PURPOSE the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”
- Jesus Christ is the one who can make us sinless in our souls. He saves us from our sins.
- He was manifest IN THE FLESH to save us from our sins.
“Whosoever is BORN OF GOD doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him.”
- “And he cannot sin because he is born of God.”
- If this meant your flesh can no longer sin, this would mean your flesh is perfect.
- Again, there is no example of that within the Bible. There’s not a man or woman who sinneth not.
- If there is one, I sure would like to see the example. Show it to me. It’s not there.
- That means that the Scriptures here must be talking about something other than your flesh.
What does it mean to be BORN OF GOD? Does this mean our flesh is made a new creation?
- We MUST go to the Scriptures to find out what this means.
- When we’re born of God, what does this mean. “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin.”
- Does that mean our flesh does not commit sin? Or does this mean our soul does not commit sin?
- Let’s go to John Chapter 3 and see exactly what this means.
- And you can tell me if this matches everything I’ve been teaching today or not.
[31] John 3:1-3 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
[32] John 3:4-7 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
- The answer to 1 John Chapter 3 is right there in the Scriptures. I didn’t make up my own interpretation.
- Jesus Christ HIMSELF tells us what it means to be BORN OF GOD.
- Does being born of God have ANYTHING to do with the sinful flesh that we have? Let’s look closer.
- Verse 5 says, “Except a man be born of the water AND of the Spirit.”
- Verse 6 says, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of Spirit is spirit.”
You’re Born In The Flesh The First Time And Born Again When Saved In The Spirit
The flesh is flesh. You’re born the first time in the flesh.
- The Spirit is spirit. You’re born again of God in the Spirit.”
- Being born of God is being born of the Spirit. You receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
- Has nothing to do with your flesh. Being born of God is NOT OF THE FLESH.
- You’re born of God once you believe on Jesus Christ. In the same chapter, John Chapter 3, we see this.
[33] John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
[34] John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
[35] John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
[36] John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
- When you believe on Jesus Christ 100% and put all your trust in Him, then you are born of God.
- Then you are given the indwelling of the Holy Spirit so you can now choose to walk in the Spirit.
- Without being born of God, you can’t resist the flesh. You can’t resist sin. You will lose.
- With God’s Spirit, though, you have a chance to do righteousness each day.
- When Jesus commands us over and over to believe on Him and we do it, this is righteousness.
- We obey God when we’re saved. That one time obeying God will give you everlasting life.
- THEN, you can choose to sin or not to sin. You can choose to walk in the Spirit and not the flesh.
- And everything I’m telling you is backed up with hundreds of Scriptures within the Bible.
- There is no sinless perfection in this flesh.
[37] Ephesians 4:30-32 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: 32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
- We are commanded to not grieve the Holy Spirit of God.
- If we were robots that ALWAYS did right, why would the Bible say all of these things?
- These Scriptures are talking to saved people who have the Holy Spirit within them.
- PUT AWAY ALL THOSE THINGS. If they were already put away, this wouldn’t make any sense.
- What makes perfect sense, though, is the Scriptures. God explains everything to us.
Notice what verse 30 says: Whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.” What’s sealed?
- The Holy Spirit seals our soul from sin where our soul cannot sin any longer. Our flesh can.
- But our souls do not because Jesus has SAVED OUR SOULS FROM SIN.
- This body is a just a shell. Jesus has saved our souls from sin. And He has sealed our souls.
- We are saved. He protects us from sin now. How do I know this? Look at reality.
Does the body go to heaven? No, it doesn’t. It gets buried, or burned, or something else.
- It doesn’t disappear to heaven. BUT OUR SAVED SOULS DO.
- For example, the body of King David is still in the sepulchre or tomb as of right now. The Bible says so.
- But King David’s soul is in heaven. Paul’s soul is in heaven. His body isn’t. Why? It’s sinful.
[38] Ephesians 1:12-14 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
- We are given a down payment or EARNEST of the Holy Spirit that seals us in salvation.
- God saves us, preserves us, seals us, and keeps us from sin. This is obviously talking about our souls.
- This is obviously not talking about or flesh.
- Understand verse 14 today. “Which is the earnest until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory.”
- What is our redemption? The day of redemption? What does this mean?
[39] Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
- Luke Chapter 21 is talking about the end times. It’s talking about the second coming of Jesus Christ.
- It’s talking about the rapture when Jesus comes in the clouds.
[40] Romans 8:22-23 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
- We’re waiting for the redemption of our body which happens at the rapture.
- Our saved souls will meet with our new and glorified bodies just like Jesus Christ has right now.
[41] 1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
- Look at that. We’re back to 1 John Chapter 3. And I didn’t do that on purpose. It came together that way.
- When Jesus shall appear at His second coming, we shall be like Him. How? With new bodies.
- He is the firstfruits of the resurrection. Then, we are next. We get new bodies like Him.
- Jesus will gather us all together and give us brand new bodies that are not sinful.
- We wait for the redemption of our body. God seals our souls from sin until that day.
[42] 1 Corinthians 15:51-53 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
- When we get our new bodies, they will be sinless and they will not be capable of sin.
- We don’t have those bodies yet. We are not capable of not sinning right now.
- Why can’t these oh so righteous “Christians” understand any of the Bible?
Hear The Words Of Jesus Christ and Believe Them
Because they haven’t put all their trust in Jesus Christ. Once they do, they will hear the words of Jesus Christ.
- The indwelling of the Holy Spirit will help them to understand all these words.
- All they have to do is just give up all the man made doctrine and turn to God and His words.
- He will teach you all things.
[43] 1 Corinthians 15:54-57 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Our flesh is sinful which leads to death.
- When our bodies are redeemed with new and glorified bodies, DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP IN VICTORY.
- And this victory only comes through Jesus Christ.
- So listen, reality tells us that there are no perfect people in the flesh right now. Where are they?
- I sure don’t know of any. I don’t of any person on earth that does good all the time. Doesn’t exist.
- But, at the rapture, there will be people who are now perfect in their new bodies.
- When the new heavens and the new earth come, there will only be people left with sinless bodies.
- And that’s when all tears will be wiped away. This sinless perfection false doctrine is pure trash.
- Sinless perfection won’t exist until Jesus gives you a new body at the rapture.
- And sin will continue to exist on this earth until after the great white throne judgement.
[44] Revelation 20:11-12 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
[45] Revelation 20:13-15 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
- This is when all the sin is finally thrown into the lake of fire once and for all.
- There is no more sin left. God gets rid of it all.
- Everyone left that was not thrown in the lake of fire will have a glorified and sinless body.
[46] Revelation 21:1-2 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
[47] Revelation 21:3-4 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
[48] Revelation 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
- You didn’t make yourself sinless like the so-called “Christians” like to profess today.
- You didn’t do anything like that. But I know who does. And He that sat upon THE THRONE said:
- “BEHOLD, I MAKE ALL THINGS NEW.”
- God is the one who can save you and turn you into sinless perfection in the end. NOT YOU.
- God is the one who makes all things new.
- Your flesh will never be sinless until you get a new body at the rapture. That’s it.
- If you can’t see that after this sermon, you need to go to John 6:47 and read that verse over and over until you get it.
[49] John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
- Once you understand that and want to be saved, you’ll put all your trust on Jesus Christ.
- Then, He’ll give you the gift of the Holy Spirit. Then, you can choose to walk in the Spirit.
- Then, you’ll love His words. You’ll learn His words. He’ll teach you the truth. He’ll show you the truth.
- Remember, sinless perfection in this body doesn’t exist.
- Don’t ever let anyone deceive you again.
- WAKE UP PEOPLE and see the truth in the Bible.
Let’s pray.
