[2] The title of the sermon: “PROVERBS CHAPTER 30.”
- Let’s continue our verse by verse Bible Study in the Book of Proverbs.
- We’ll start there in verse 1 of Proverbs Chapter 30.
[3] Proverbs 30:1 The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, even the prophecy: the man spake unto Ithiel, even unto Ithiel and Ucal,
- Some people will argue that Agur is another name for Agur. But the words say the son of Jakeh.
- We know Solomon is the son of David and not Jakeh. I am sure this is not Solomon writing this.
- These are the words of Agur the son of Jakeh. Those are the only 2 times these names are in the Bible.
Agur is a prophet speaking the words of God in Proverbs Chapter 30. He spake unto Ithiel and Ucal.
- The name Ithiel is in the Bible one other time. Ucal is only shown this one time.
- Let’s see the Scripture with Ithiel. You’ll find this in the book of Nehemiah.
[4] Nehemiah 11:7 And these are the sons of Benjamin; Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Joed, the son of Pedaiah, the son of Kolaiah, the son of Maaseiah, the son of Ithiel, the son of Jesaiah.
- These are those dwelling in Jerusalem at the time of Nehemiah.
- Nehemiah was approximately 400 to 500 years after Solomon. But this is listing the sons of Ithiel.
- Could this be the same Ithiel? I am not sure. Possibly.
- There are no other mentions of Ithiel throughout the Bible.
- Just keep in mind that Solomon did not write this chapter in Proverbs. Agur did. Let’s keep going.
[5] Proverbs 30:2-3 Surely I am more brutish than any man, and have not the understanding of a man. 3 I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy.
- There’s a point when a man or woman finally understands they are brutish.
- Not all reach this understanding. But we should reach this understanding after we are saved, at least.
- Brutish means like a brute beast. Insensible, stupid, unfeeling, savage, ferocious, brutal, gross, carnal.
- Ignorant and untaught. These are all in the dictionary for brutish. We don’t have knowledge of the holy.
We can’t even understand simple things. Many clear Scriptures in the Bible are misunderstood by man.
- Many are so simple and easy to understand. Yet, we have all missed the meaning of the Holy Scriptures.
- As we continue in Proverbs Chapter 30, you’ll begin to understand what this means.
[6] Proverbs 30:4 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son’s name, if thou canst tell?
- Has any man or woman ascended and descended into heaven on their own?
- God took Elijah up. Elijah didn’t know how to do this. He doesn’t have the directions to heaven.
- God took him there. Jesus ascends and descends from heaven. The Son of God does this.
[7] John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
- We can’t do these things. Why? Because we are man. We are not God.
- Have you, as a man or woman, gathered the wind in your fists? Can you do that? God can.
- Can you bind the waters in a garment? God can. Did you establish the ends of the earth?
Did you put the bounds on the earth? Did you form the earth? No, you didn’t. I didn’t.
- Read Job Chapter 38 through Job Chapter 41 if you want to hear more about what God has done.
- In Job Chapter 42, Job says: “I know that you, God, can do everything. No thought is withheld from God.”
- The words of the Bible are there to humble us. They are not there to lift us up and make us proud.
Churches today will lift you up to make you proud. This is why they don’t use all the Scriptures.
- They can’t. It goes against their goals of lifting you up. They want you to boast about yourself.
- People continue to fall for this simple deception. Just read the words of the Bible.
- They will humble you. They will not lift you up. They will lift God up.
- Be careful of who you are listening to out there. The Bible warns you of this over and over again.
At the end of verse 4 in Proverbs Chapter 30, the Bible asks: “What is His name, and what is His Son’s name?”
- If you look this up throughout the Bible, you’ll see many names for God and His Son.
- In Exodus Chapter 3, Moses says: “And they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?
- God answers and says: “I AM THAT I AM. Thou shalt say to the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me.”
- What is His name? I AM is His name. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
- His name is God Almighty. His name is Jehovah. The Lord is His name. The Lord God is His name.
[8] Deuteronomy 28:58 If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD;
- His name is God. Understand what that means before you take His name so lightly.
- His Son’s name is Jesus Christ. His Son is called many other names throughout the Bible too.
- We have an entire sermon on the names He is called throughout the Bible.
See the sermon titled “You Better Have the Right Jesus.” This will help you to know the right one.
- Are there different ones out there? Oh yes. All the different denominations have a different one.
- The Bible tells us that many will come preaching and teaching another Jesus.
- Use the King James Bible to ensure you have the right Jesus.
But please keep in mind that Proverbs Chapter 30 is telling us that God has a Son. What is His Son’s name?
- The Old Testament is constantly pointing us to Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
- His name wasn’t made known until when? Who was given the name of Jesus first?
- Well, usually the parents of a child name the child, right?
- The angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. The angel of the Lord appeared to Mary.
- He tells them both that the child’s name shall be Jesus. And they called Him Jesus.
- At the name of Jesus, every knee should bow. Let’s keep going in Proverbs Chapter 30.
[9] Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
- This is a huge verse. I can write entire sermons, many of them, on this verse alone.
- The King James Bible is 100% pure words and has zero mistakes or errors.
- We believe and know that this is the word of God without error. God preserved His words for us.
“Every word of God is pure.” If you have a so-called Bible, such as the NIV, NASB, or NKJV, get rid of it.
- There are mistakes throughout. In hundreds of instances, they say the opposite of the King James.
- They delete Scriptures. They get rid of the word of God. They minimize His words that He gave to us.
- I could give you hundreds and hundreds of examples. His words are pure words.
- “Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.”
If you believe God’s words are perfect, then you will believe what He says right there.
- Many preachers and church leaders today will clearly say that God’s pure words aren’t in existence today.
- They will say that only the original words of God are inspired. We don’t have those any more.
- We don’t have the original writings. I say that we have the perfect word of God in English.
- Is is the King James Bible. I know that we have it in existence. God says He will preserve His words for us.
I also believe what the Bible says right there: “He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him.”
- Trusting God to save you is what saves you. Trusting the work of Jesus Christ saves you.
- He died. His body was buried. His soul went to hell with our sins.
- The resurrection of Jesus Christ is His body arising from the dead and His spirit/soul arising from the dead.
- You can’t add any works to that work in order to go to heaven. Simply trust Him.
- “He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him.” Believe it or not. It’s your choice.
[10] Proverbs 30:6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
- Don’t add anything to trusting in God for salvation. How do you make it to heaven? Trust God.
- Trust Jesus Christ. Believe in God. Believe in Jesus Christ. Have faith in God. Have faith in Jesus Christ.
- That’s it. Don’t add to His words. In Revelation, we also get a warning.
[11] Revelation 22:18-19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
- God hates when people change His words and tell lies about Him.
- He calls people names within the Bible. He mocks them because they are fools.
- There are so many churches and preachers out there today who get into this to make money.
- They get into this for profit. They have no fear of God. His wrath for them is building.
There are probably 50 churches on Main Street here in this small town of Shelbyville, Kentucky.
- They don’t preach the word of God. They can’t get the simple Gospel of Jesus Christ correct.
- But they make money. Is the money going to be worth it? No, it’s not.
- Many don’t even open the Bible any more. They pick, choose, and twist verses for their gain.
- They don’t take the time to get the word of God right from cover to cover.
- Many have never read the Bible once from cover to cover. They have no clue what it says.
For example, if a church says: “All are welcome here,” this goes directly against the words of the Bible.
- If they say, “God loves everyone no matter what,” this goes directly against God’s words.
- If they say, “God doesn’t hate anyone,” this goes directly against what He says.
- They are adding and changing His words. Do you think He’s happy with that?
- If you do, you should read the Bible. You’ll find out quickly that He will be very angry with you.
- That’s why I take what I am doing right now very seriously. We must get this right.
- I count on God to help me to get this right. Without Him, I have no chance of getting it right.
[12] Proverbs 30:7-9 Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die: 8 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: 9 Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.
- By the way, Proverbs Chapter 30 is an awesome chapter. I absolutely love this chapter in the Bible.
- This chapter alone disproves much false doctrine. Make sure you listen to these words.
- This man is asking two things before he dies. “Do not deny them before I die.”
“Remove far from me vanity and lies.” Vanity is going after something that is worthless.
- Many people are deceived into going after worthless things. Money is one of these vain things.
- And you might say, “It’s money. It’s not worthless. I can buy many things.”
- You can’t buy your way out of death and hell. Everything you can buy won’t save you from that.
- Here’s the first time the word vanity is used in the Bible.
[13] 2 Kings 17:14-15 Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God. 15 And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.
- They followed vanity. What would this be? It will be anything other than God.
- When you put anything else above God, such as playing sports, you are following vanity.
- Playing sports is number one to many people.
Watching college age boys or men play basketball is number one to many.
- Many people would rather win the NCAA national championship than win someone to Jesus Christ.
- When you follow after vanity and worthless things, you’re going to be in trouble.
- Remove vanity and lies far from me. I don’t want anything to do with lies or vain things.
- False gods are vain and worthless. The religion of Islam is worthless. Jesus Christ is not.
[14] Proverbs 30:8 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:
- Give me neither poverty NOR riches. Feed me with food convenient for me.
- We don’t pray for riches. We don’t want poverty either. We want to be in the middle of those things.
- And we are. We pray for this. I don’t want to win the lottery. My flesh does. My spirit doesn’t.
My flesh wants all the worldly riches. My spirit wants to win people to Christ.
- Only give me what I need right now. If we always get what we need right now, we’re doing great.
- There’s nothing better than that. We always have what we NEED at the time we need it.
- And if we don’t follow this Scripture, what happens? The Bible tells you in the very next verse.
[15] Proverbs 30:9 Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.
- If I have everything I want and need all the time before I need it, I am full. I won’t need God.
- I won’t rely on God. I will be full and deny Him and say, “WHO IS THE LORD?”
- That is exactly what happens to rich people. Poor people, on the other hand, do just as bad.
- “Lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.”
- This is why you don’t want to be poor or rich. This is the truth. Now pray for the right things.
- We are to be content with food and clothing. If we have that, we should be happy.
[16] Proverbs 30:10-14 Accuse not a servant unto his master, lest he curse thee, and thou be found guilty. 11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother. 12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. 13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up. 14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.
- There are a lot of people now who make false accusations constantly when they are the guilty ones.
- There is a generation that curses their father and their mother.
- Notice how all of this goes together. God warns us of all of these things.
- Someone who curses their father and mother will make false accusations against you.
- This generation of people are pure in their own eyes. Yet, they are not washed from their own filthiness.
This would be holier than thous who are spread throughout all the churches today. They are in abundance.
- They think themselves to be great when they are actually filthy. They aren’t even saved by Jesus Christ.
- They call themselves Christians. They are not washed in the blood of Jesus Christ.
- They believe in themselves. They think they do not sin. They think they are holy.
- Everyone else is dirty and nasty, but they, themselves, are good and perfect.
- We have these generations all around us right now. “How lofty are their eyes!”
These are the people who turn up their nose to people who don’t have nice clothes like they do.
- If your car has dirt on it, they lift their eyelids at you. “Look how clean I am. Look how dirty you are.”
- Their teeth are as swords. Their jaw teeth as knives. They want to devour the poor from off the earth.
- They want to get rid of the needy from among men. We have politicians who want to do these things.
We have leaders who want to do these things. They make themselves rich as they steal from the poor.
- Taxing all the people so much is not Biblical. It’s evil. The losers in the Bible did these things.
- We’re headed the same way. When will it stop? They raise the percentages every year.
- When it hits 100%, will they stop? No, they will want more. Greedy generations.
- All of this goes together. There are false accusers everywhere in this world today.
- The news is filled with them. The churches are filled with them. Your workplace is filled with them.
[17] Proverbs 30:15-16 The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough: 16 The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not filled with water; and the fire that saith not, It is enough.
- A horse leach is a blood sucker that sometimes goes in the nostrils of livestock.
- It sucks blood. It goes after the life of others. The horse leach has two daughters.
- They are always crying out, “GIVE, GIVE.” They always want you to give but never give themselves.
- They are leaches. For example, they only call you when they want something from you.
- They only call you when they need money, information, or help with something.
- But when you need help, they are no where to be found. That’s a leach or a blood sucker.
They are never satisfied. This country, with its welfare system, creates more and more bloodsuckers every day.
- Nothing is ever enough. This is called implacable or unable to appease these people.
- Implacable describes sodomites in the Bible. The LGBTQ community is implacable.
- They are blood suckers looking to take the life out of everyone around them. Leaches.
- Never satisfied. The grave is never satisfied. Death comes upon all. A baby is born into this world.
- That same human will die sometime later.
The barren womb is never satisfied. Not being able to have children will never bring satisfaction.
- But remember that God can open the womb any time He wants.
- The earth that is not filled with water will not be satisfied. The earth needs water.
- The fire that burns will never say it has had enough. Bring on some more to burn. The fire will take it all.
[18] Proverbs 30:17 The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.
- Now we have the eye that mocketh at his father and despises to obey his mother.
- That person who won’t obey his father and mother will have the ravens of the valley pick it out.
- The young eagles shall eat it. Do you hate your own father and mother? Be very careful.
[19] Proverbs 23:22 Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old.
[20] Leviticus 20:9 For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.
- This topic would take an entire sermon to cover all the Scriptures.
- Do not curse your own father and mother. God says so. Remember that.
[21] Proverbs 30:18-19 There be three things which are too wonderful for me, yea, four which I know not: 19 The way of an eagle in the air; the way of a serpent upon a rock; the way of a ship in the midst of the sea; and the way of a man with a maid.
- Three things are too wonderful for me. Four which I know not.
- We don’t know the way of an eagle in the air. We can’t do this same thing. We can’t fly like that.
- The way of a serpent on a rock. They climb and go over rocks smoothly. We can’t do that.
- The way of a ship in the midst of a sea. We can’t do that either.
- This man knew not the way of a man with a maid. A maid is an unmarried woman or a virgin.
[22] Proverbs 30:20 Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness.
- An adulterous woman is a woman who wants to be with married men.
- Adultery is having a sexual relationship with someone other than your spouse.
- An adulterous woman has a specific way about her.
- The Bible tells us her ways by giving us a picture of her eating.
She eats, she wipes her mouth, and then she says: “I have done no wickedness.”
- She commits adultery and then she says, “I did nothing wrong. It wasn’t my fault.”
- Proverbs Chapter 7 tells us that she will entice the man. She will lure the man inside.
- She decks out her home and her bed. She uses perfume and fine linen. She catches the man in her trap.
- Men have to be very careful of these adulterous women out there.
- These women know what they’re doing. But they say: “I have done nothing wrong.”
- They will even convince the man that they are doing nothing wrong. Stay away from these women.
[23] Proverbs 30:21-23 For three things the earth is disquieted, and for four which it cannot bear: 22 For a servant when he reigneth; and a fool when he is filled with meat; 23 For an odious woman when she is married; and an handmaid that is heir to her mistress.
- Disquieted means uneasy, restless, disturbed or harassed. These things disturb the earth.
- A servant who reigns. A servant is a servant. We need to know our places.
- For example, we are to serve God but so many want to be God. People lift themselves up.
- We are beneath God. We are supposed to be servants to God.
A fool when he is filled with meat disquiets the earth.
- A fool doesn’t deserve to be filled with meat but many times they are the rich people.
- The world will call them blessed by God, but they aren’t. Nabal is an example in the Bible.
- Belshazzar is another example in Daniel Chapter 5.
Another thing that disquiets the earth is an odious woman when she is married. Odious is hateful.
- She is offensive to God and His commandments. She doesn’t love God. Her being married is not good.
- This world is filled with these women now. And they will bring their husbands down with them.
The fourth thing that the earth cannot bear is a handmaid that is heir to her mistress.
- You can see this example with Sarah and Hagar. That did not work out. This will never work out.
- This disquiets the earth or disturbs the way things were designed to work.
- There is a place for everything, and these things don’t fit right.
[24] Proverbs 30:24-28 There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise: 25 The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer; 26 The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks; 27 The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands; 28 The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings’ palaces.
- Just because something is so small it doesn’t make it foolish or stupid.
- God put His wisdom into His creation. They are little upon the earth but exceeding wise.
- The ants, the conies or rock rabbits, locusts, and spiders. God created all of these.
Your foot can crush the ant but they prepare their meat in the summer. They plan ahead. This is wise.
- So many people don’t plan ahead. They spend up everything they have at the moment they get it.
- The money they make is burning a hole in their pocket so they must spend it on foolish things.
- For example, a young man buying a brand new car, spending more than he has on it, while living at home, is a foolish thing to do.
- A young man should be preparing for a wife and a family. A home is required.
- Buy a lower cost car so you can save that money for the future. Ants are wiser than a foolish young man.
The conies are feeble. Rabbits are crushed easily. But yet, these conies make their houses in the rocks.
- Field rabbits will make their homes in holes in a yard. This is not wise when a mower comes around.
- But the conies choose rocks as their homes. This is very wise. Rocks are very strong.
- They are much stronger than the wood homes that we build.
The locusts go forth in huge numbers and they don’t have a king guiding them. They go forth by bands.
- We should be more like them with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We should just go forth, but we don’t.
- All the people in this country should have the Gospel in hand each day. Move forth and spread it.
- The spiders take hold with their hands. They are working, moving, and taking hold.
- They establish themselves in the palaces of kings. All of this is very wise. Look at God’s creation.
- You will gain wisdom simply by studying His creation.
[25] Proverbs 30:29-31 There be three things which go well, yea, four are comely in going: 30 A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any; 31 A greyhound; an he goat also; and a king, against whom there is no rising up.
- These things go well. Comely means suitable, graceful, and proper. The way a lion moves is graceful.
- A lion is strongest among beasts. A lion turneth not away for any. Jesus is the lion of the tribe of Judah.
- Sometimes a lion does move around a crowd. He might go around.
- For example, a lion will go around three hippos. He isn’t scared of them, but he isn’t foolish either.
- Jesus went around some of the crowds who sought to kill Him before it was His time. He was graceful.
A greyhound is so graceful when he moves. Watch a greyhound run. God’s creation is amazing.
- Watch a he goat on rocks. Watch how he moves. Remember, God created the goats.
- A strong king won’t have people rising up against him. This is a good king who stops all the uprising.
- He puts a stop to the evil and wickedness. People fear good kings. God will do this in the end.
- And He gives us many warnings along the way.
[26] Proverbs 30:32 If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.
- We are to close up our mouths at times or shut up our lips. Close them.
- If you can’t do that without the help of your hand, then use your hand and lay it upon your mouth.
- This is instruction from God. This is wisdom. We all need to do this at times.
Don’t lift yourself up at any time. Don’t believe yourself to be great when the Bible says there are none good.
- Only God is good. Only God should be lifted up. When you get power in this life, don’t lift yourself up.
- When something good happens, don’t be proud and arrogant.
- Proverbs Chapter 30 has been teaching this throughout.
Agur, the man who wrote this, starts by saying that he is more brutish than any man and has not the understanding of a man.
- We haven’t ascended into heaven and descended from heaven. We can’t do any of these things.
- We can’t even move like the animals. We can’t fly like the eagles. We need to know our place.
- God gave us all our place. We can’t lift ourselves up because we don’t deserve to be lifted up.
Don’t be like the leaches in this chapter or the bloodsuckers who are never content.
- Don’t hate your father and mother. Don’t mock at them. Obey them. Listen to them.
- Don’t be like an adulterous woman who thinks she does no wrong.
- Most people aren’t as wise as an ant, a rock rabbit, a locust, or a spider. This is what God is saying.
- When we won’t listen to Him, we are fools. When we take His words and listen, we can then be wise.
- A wise man or a wise woman will not foolishly lift themselves up.
If you have thought evil, put your hand upon your mouth. Don’t spread the evil and make it even worse.
- Don’t act on the evil. Don’t sin against God. Don’t be wise in your own conceit.
- Don’t think that your ways are the best ways and that everyone must follow your ways.
- This is foolish thought. We must follow the ways of God. His ways are given to us in this Bible.
- If you want everyone to be like you and follow your ways, you are lifting yourself up.
- This is evil thought. It’s time to lay your hand upon your mouth.
[27] Job 40:4 Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
- Even Job, the most upright man on the face of the earth, is vile in front of God. God is holy. We are not.
- Always remember that throughout your life. God is holy. God is perfect. You are not. I am not.
[28] Proverbs 30:33 Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and the wringing of the nose bringeth forth blood: so the forcing of wrath bringeth forth strife.
- Many people force wrath because they think their ways are better ways.
- This chapter teaches you that you aren’t so great. The churning of milk brings forth butter.
- The wringing or twisting of the nose will bring forth blood. The forcing of wrath brings forth strife.
- Strife is contention for superiority. Or “I am right and you are wrong. I am better than you.”
- This is strife caused by the forcing of wrath. Some people love to force their wrath upon you.
- They stir up strife. The Bible warns us about this in many locations throughout.
[29] Proverbs 15:18 A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.
[30] Proverbs 16:28 A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.
[31] Proverbs 17:14 The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.
[32] Proverbs 28:25 He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.
- We could keep going with Scriptures. We’ve been over all of these in the Book of Proverbs now.
- This chapter, Proverbs Chapter 30, is making conclusions on that with this chapter.
- Don’t be proud, arrogant, wrathful, and froward. Don’t strive to be rich. Don’t strive to be poor.
- You might say, “Who in the world would want to strive to be poor?” Hey, I know some.
So, what do we do? We simply believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. We have faith in God. We trust in Him.
- We don’t trust in ourselves, man, woman, or beast. We lift up God. We do what He says.
- We follow the rules where we live unless they conflict with God’s rules. We live peaceably, if possible.
- We preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We baptize people who want to be baptized after being saved.
- We teach them through church, the website, and through conversations with them.
- And we do our best to make disciples of Jesus Christ or actual followers of His words.
We don’t want people to follow our ways but His ways. We humble ourselves. We lower ourselves.
- We must decrease, and He must increase. God comes from above. We come from the dirt.
- He is in the heavens above. We are down here. God is truth. We are not.
- Always remember to humble yourself each and every day and lift God up each day.
- Die to self. Walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh.
Let’s pray.
