[2] The title of the sermon today is “JOHN CHAPTER 9.”

We Saw A Woman Taken In Adultery Last Chapter

• In John Chapter 8, we saw the woman taken in adultery.
• We saw the scribes and Pharisees put Jesus in a difficult situation.

[3] Genesis 18:14 Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

• Jesus may have been in a difficult situation, but really, do you think anything is too difficult for Jesus?

[4] Jeremiah 32:17 Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:

• We see Jesus stoop down and ignore them. They said, “Should we put her to death like Moses said?”
• The Roman law was the authority in the land at the time. Not the scribes and the Pharisees.
• If they were ruling, the scribes and the Pharisees should have put her to death.

[5] John 8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

• We don’t see Jesus condone adultery. He didn’t say, “Oh, it’s okay if you commit adultery. It’s not okay.”
• We also don’t see Jesus get rid of that law. He didn’t say that Moses messed up.
• He didn’t say that adultery is a picture of things to come and the New Testament gets rid of that law.

[6] Matthew 5:17-18 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

[7] Matthew 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

• Teaching against sin isn’t popular, but who cares?
• If saved preachers teach that it’s okay to sin, they shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven.
• Jesus says that we shall do the commandments and also teach His commandments.
• We see that everyone leaves because their own conscience convicted them. They left the woman alone.
• Nothing is too difficult for the Lord.

Then we see that Jesus doesn’t bear witness of Himself alone. He bears witness and His Father bears witness.

• The Pharisees and scribes say, “Hey, where is your Father, Jesus? Show Him to us”
• Jesus tells them that they will die in their sins. There’s no way out but Jesus Himself.
• Jesus is from above. We are not. No human is from heaven above, but Jesus is from above.
• Jesus tells that they’ll know He is the Savior once they have lifted Him up meaning on the cross.
• Then we learned how to be true disciples of Jesus Christ.

[8] John 8:31-32 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

• You can’t be a disciple of Christ until you first believe on Him. That’s putting all your trust on Him.
• But they think being Abraham’s physical seed will save them.
• Jesus tells them that Abraham isn’t their father. Satan is their father.
• Why? Because they won’t believe what Jesus is saying. They trust man over Jesus.
• Abraham was a man. Abraham wasn’t perfect. But Jesus is perfect. Listen to His words.
• They accuse Jesus of having a devil.

[9] John 8:52-53 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death. 53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?

• I’ll let you answer that one. Is Jesus greater than Abraham? Please. It’s not even a contest.
• They say, “Who have you made yourself? Do you think you’re something special, Jesus?”
• Jesus tells them that He knows God. If He says that He didn’t, He would be a liar like them.
• Then we see that Abraham rejoiced to see the Lord. They aren’t happy to see Him like Abraham was.

[10] John 8:56-58 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. 57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

• In the very last verse of John Chapter 8, verse 59, we see them take up stones to kill Jesus.
• But it wasn’t yet His time so Jesus went right through the middle of them and passed them by.
• Please don’t be passed by today by Jesus Christ. He’s here in the midst of us right now.
• Let’s start there in verse 1 of John Chapter 9.

Jesus Sees A Blind Man As He Passes By

[11] John 9:1-2 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. 2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?

• We see that the disciples think that the blind man was blind because of sin.
• They think that either that man sinned or his parents sinned to cause his blindness.
• When we see people very sick, we might think the same. Were they horrible people?
• Is that why they’re so sick? This is very important to understand today.
• Yes, sin leads to death. Sin leads to us perishing.

[12] Luke 13:1-3 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

• So, yes, sin leads to death, sickness, disease, and all types of horrible things.
• But watch what Jesus says next in John Chapter 9 verse 3.

[13] John 9:3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

• In this situation, that man wasn’t blind because of his sin or his parents.
• Jesus isn’t saying that the man never sinned and that his parents had never sinned.
• We know that because all men sin. 1 Kings 8:46 says, “For there is no man that sinneth not.”
• 2 Chronicles 6:36 says the same thing. Ecclesiastes 7:20 says the same thing.

[14] Ecclesiastes 7:20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

• We know that every man sins. But we do know that the man wasn’t blind because of sin.
• He wasn’t being punished for his sin or his parents sin.
• He was blind so the works of God should be made manifest in him.
• We see something very similar in John Chapter 11 with Lazarus.

[15] John 11:3-5 Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick. 4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. 5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.

• The sickness Lazarus had wasn’t due to his sin. He was sick so the Jesus would be glorified.
• But, we also need to understand that God does punish with sickness, disease, and evil things like that.
• And I already know the evil false preachers will call me evil for saying that. But the truth is in God’s words.

[16] Psalm 107:17 Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

[17] Psalm 38:1-3 O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. 2 For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore. 3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.

[18] Psalm 38:4-6 For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me. 5 My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness. 6 I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.

[19] Psalm 38:7 For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh.

[20] Zephaniah 1:17 And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.

[21] Micah 6:13 Therefore also will I make thee sick in smiting thee, in making thee desolate because of thy sins.

• And that’s just a few verses. God’s word is the truth. So, yes, sin leads to horrible things.
• But again, this man wasn’t blind because of sin. Job wasn’t punished for his sin either.
• So, please, be careful how you judge someone. Judge righteous judgement.
• Let’s continue in verse 4 and 5 of John Chapter 9.

[22] John 9:4-5 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

• Jesus is saying that He is the light of the day. While it is day, there is work to do.
• In other words, He’s saying that He’s not going to be there much longer.
• The night cometh, or death cometh soon. He’s prophesying about His own life and death.

[23] Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

• Jesus is the light that has come.
• He says, “I am the light of the world, and I have the works of my Father to do.”
• And He’s about do the work of His Father by healing this blind man.

[24] John 9:6-7 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, 7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.

• Jesus spits on the ground and makes clay of the spittle. He places the clay on the eyes of that blind man.
• We see Jesus do this same thing using His spit in the Gospel of Mark too.

[25] Mark 7:33-35 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue; 34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened. 35 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.

[26] Mark 8:23-25 And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. 24 And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. 25 After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.

• And then you might remember this from Revelation Chapter 3. Jesus speaks to the Laodicean church.

[27] Revelation 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

• I was blind. I’m still blind in many areas. I’ll take the anointing of Jesus so that I can see clearly.
• “Well, that’s just gross. I don’t want the spit of Jesus wiped on me!!!” Well, I do. I want to see.
• So, this blind man in John Chapter 9 goes to the pool of Siloam, washes his eyes, and can now see.
• If you remember, Elisha in 2 Kings Chapter 5 does a very similar miracle for a leper named Naaman.

[28] 2 Kings 5:1 Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.

[29] 2 Kings 5:9-10 So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha. 10 And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.

• Elisha tells Naaman to go wash in the Jordan River seven times. Naaman says, “The Jordan is dirty.”
• He wanted Elisha to just wave his hand and heal him.

[30] 2 Kings 5:11-12 But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper. 12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.

• You might be thinking: “Why didn’t Jesus just wave His hand and heal the man?”
• “Why did the man have to go wash in the pool of Siloam?” Naaman says, “Why do I have to do this?”
• “You mean you want me to go wash in the dirty Jordan river? You want me to go do something?”

[31] 2 Kings 5:13-14 And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean? 14 Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

• So, Naaman went and did what Elisha said even though he didn’t want to.
• His servants are telling him to not be stubborn. Just go do what the man of God said.
• “It’s nothing compared to what you’re going to get out of this, Naaman.”
• So Naaman is healed just like the blind man in John Chapter 8. Why was Naaman healed? Next verse.

[32] 2 Kings 5:15-16 And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a blessing of thy servant. 16 But he said, As the LORD liveth, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he urged him to take it; but he refused.

• Elisha didn’t heal that man. God Almighty healed that man. But Naaman was healed for a reason.
• Naaman and all his company (imagine that) comes to Elisha and says, “Now I know there is no God in all the earth BUT the God of Israel.”
• Elisha knew that the man was only healed because of God. He says, “I will receive no blessing from you.”
• Elisha was there to do the work of God and Jesus Christ was there to do the work of His Father.

Just Believe What God Says And Do It

Why don’t we just do what God says? Jesus says, “Just believe on me, and I’ll save you.”

• Are you going to be like Naaman? “But I want to do it my way. I want it to be my baptism.”
• “I want it to be my life full of good works. I want it to depend on me. I want it my way.”
• It doesn’t work that way. We MUST believe what Jesus says and do it.
• The man in John Chapter 8 could now see.

[33] John 9:8-10 The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged? 9 Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he. 10 Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?

• When a man goes from blind to fully seeing, you’ll ask what happened?
• Jesus did that miracle so others would be saved by believing on Jesus Christ.
• They ask that man, “How were your eyes opened?”

[34] John 9:11 He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.

• This man tells them what happened. A man that is called Jesus gave me sight.

[35] John 9:12 Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not.

• They want to know where Jesus is now. The previously blind man says, “I don’t know where he is.”

[36] John 9:13-15 They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind. 14 And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes. 15 Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.

• Jesus knew what He was doing. He knew that the man was healed on the Sabbath day.
• Now the Pharisees question the man. He tells them how it happened.
• “He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.”

[37] John 9:16 Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.

• The Pharisees are saying Jesus is not of God because He does work on the sabbath day.
• This sounds like the Seventh Day Adventists who believe that people who don’t recognize the sabbath day are from Satan.
• The Seventh Day Adventists believe that we’re evil because we worship God on Sunday and Wednesday.
• They believe it should be Saturday. And since we don’t honor the sabbath on Saturday, we’re evil.
• That’s what the Seventh Day Adventists think of us, but they won’t say it your face.
• Why? Because they’re too good, and too kind, and they don’t sin by offending you.
• But the Pharisees thought the same of Jesus and the Seventh Day Adventists are like the Pharisees.
• They are of their father the devil.
• So, I hope a Seventh Day Adventist hears this today and God opens their eyes. Be saved today.

“This man is not of God because he keepeth not the sabbath day.”

• So, now there is a division within the Pharisees.
• The others say, “A man not of God couldn’t do these miracles.”
• Devils don’t do miracles like that. A devil wants to destroy you. A devil won’t make you see the truth.
• But still, some of the Pharisees are calling Jesus evil for healing a blind man on the sabbath day.

[38] John 9:17 They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet.

• The blind man didn’t yet know who Jesus was. He says, “He is a prophet.” And he was right.
• Jesus is a prophet, but He is also THE PROPHET.

[39] Acts 3:22-23 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. 23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

• The Pharisees are burning in hell right now. Destroyed among the people. Why?
• Because they wouldn’t hear THAT PROPHET, Jesus Christ.
• The Muslims won’t hear that prophet, Jesus Christ. They’ll admit He was a prophet.
• But they won’t admit that Jesus is the Savior of the world.

[40] 1 John 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

• So, my prayer today is that the Muslims I know will have their eyes opened by God today so they see.
• I want them to see the truth. I want them to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to save them.
• So, Jesus is THE PROPHET. The number one. The Savior of the world. That blind man didn’t yet know that.

[41] John 9:18 But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.

• The Jews didn’t believe this man. He told them, “I was blind but I have received my sight.”
• They called his parents. They didn’t believe the man until they called his parents.

[42] John 9:19-21 And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see? 20 His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind: 21 But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself.

• His parents tell them that he was blind, but we don’t know who opened his eyes.
• “He’s old enough for you to ask him,” they say. “he shall speak for himself.”
• “Why don’t you go straight to the one who knows what happened? He’s standing right here.”
• But I think they actually knew the truth based on the next verse.

[43] John 9:22-23 These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue. 23 Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.

• That’s a pretty weak set of parents right there.
• They feared they were going to be put out of the synagogue.
• NEVER FEAR a man, an organization, a church, a group of people, a government, the Jews, a synagogue.
• So, the parents are putting it all on their son who was just healed because they’re scared of the Jews.

Get Kicked Out Or Leave Yourself

If your church is preaching heresy like the Jewish synagogue, then you need to get away.

• Don’t be scared to stand up for God and say something. “Oh, well, they might kick me out.”
• Who cares? Are you for God, or are you against God? That fear of man can keep you from being saved.
• “Oh, I don’t want to offend my preacher by going against him. I don’t want to offend my church.”
• “They might treat me bad.” That’s what that weak set of parents did right there. They put it on their son.
• But don’t worry, that son of theirs did the right thing. I love this next part. Let’s see what happened.

[44] John 9:24 Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.

• The Jews say, “Give God the praise: we know this man is a sinner.”
• “We’re not sinners, but we know that this man is a sinner.” They are talking about Jesus.
• “We know he is a sinner but we aren’t.”
• They aren’t giving credit to Jesus for healing the man.
• This phrase of “Give God the praise: we know this man is a sinner” is seen in the Bible.

[45] Joshua 7:19-20 And Joshua said unto Achan, My son, give, I pray thee, glory to the LORD God of Israel, and make confession unto him; and tell me now what thou hast done; hide it not from me. 20 And Achan answered Joshua, and said, Indeed I have sinned against the LORD God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done:

• The Jews wanted this blind man to follow the example of Achan.
• The Jews thought they were like Joshua, but we know they weren’t anything like Joshua.
• They said like Joshua, “Give glory to the God of Israel and hide not your sin.”
• But, as we continue, we’ll see that this story in John Chapter 9 is nothing like Achan in Joshua.
• We know this man wasn’t blind because of sin. We know Achan sinned by stealing.
• We know Jesus isn’t a sinner by healing on the sabbath day. The Jews made up that rule.

But hear what happens next. This blind man who was just healed stands up and speaks the truth.

• Who do you think this blind man who was just healed is going to side with?
• Do you think he’s going with Jesus, or do you think he’s going with these hypocrites?
• They’re saying to this healed man, “We know that Jesus is a sinner, but we aren’t!!!”
• “Who are you going to listen to? Us or Him? A sinner or us?”

[46] John 9:25 He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.

• The man says, “I don’t if Jesus is a sinner or not. But I do know one thing.”
• “I might not know anything else, but I do know that I was blind but now I see.”
• Same thing with you and I. We were blind but now we see. And what do we do?
• We try to tell people. I see the truth now in the Bible. Please let me show you. Please listen.
• The people can be like the Pharisees or they can be like this blind man who can now see.

[47] John 9:26-27 Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes? 27 He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples?

• We need to be like this blind man who was just healed. We need to listen to his responses here.
• They continue to question this man. They don’t believe him even though all the evidence is there.
• The man was blind and now he can see. But they don’t believe it.
• Just like you can know your gender very easily. The evidence is there.
• But people still say, “I’m this or that” when clearly they are not this or that. They are male or female.
• This man can now see, but they just won’t believe it. It’s too good to be true.

But he answers them and says, “HEY, I TOLD YOU ALREADY!!! But you won’t listen. You must have not heard me!”

• He asks them, “Do you need to hear it again? Duh. If I tell you again, will you be His disciples?”
• What the man is saying to these false Jews is, “Look, I’m a disciple of His now. I know what He did.”
• How many times do I have to tell you? We think the same way when we tell people the truth.
• We tell people how to be saved over and over and the religious people just won’t hear it.
• They just won’t listen. It’s very clear throughout the entire Bible once you’ll listen to Jesus.

[48] John 9:28 Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses’ disciples.

• So, you have all these Pharisees and scribes up against this one man who was healed by Jesus Christ.
• He’s standing strong there on his own. His own parents won’t even back him up. “Ask him, not us!”
• His own parents know that he was blind and can now see. If anyone knows, his parents would know.
• But again, he stands there on his own but he’s not scared. Why is he not scared?
• He knows what happened? He knows what Jesus did. They say, “You can be His disciple.”
• “But we’re going to follow Moses. We are Moses’ disciples. We have Moses. You can have Jesus.”
• They’re going to be surprised when Moses doesn’t back them either. Moses backs Jesus Christ.
• And we learned in John Chapter 5 that the fake Jews don’t even believe what Moses wrote.

[49] John 5:45-47 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. 46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. 47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

• Jesus says, “You trust in Moses but Moses is going to accuse you.” Moses isn’t standing up for them.
• Jesus says, “If you actually believed Moses, you would believe me: for he wrote of me.”
• And we know that the false Jews today don’t believe what Moses wrote. They don’t believe Jesus.
• They aren’t followers of Moses. Who do they actually follow? SATAN.
• But they’re reviling this man and speaking to him like he’s an idiot, like he’s nothing. They continue.

[50] John 9:29 We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is.

• Again, they say, “We don’t know who this Jesus man is. Where did He come from?”
• “But we know that God spoke to Moses so we’ll follow Moses.” But we know they weren’t.
• They just act like it. The churches use the name of Jesus Christ, but they don’t actually listen to Jesus.
• They don’t actually follow Jesus. It’s the same thing we see here from the Jews in John Chapter 9.
• They had a false Moses just like the churches have a false Jesus. They make up their own version.

[51] John 9:30 The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes.

• I love that verse right there. The blind man isn’t backing down from these religious leaders.
• It would be similar to you going up against the Pope. The Pope has millions backing him.
• And you? You would be on your own against the Pope. I know the Pope’s father is Satan.
• I know that the Pope doesn’t follow Jesus Christ. The Pope believes Jesus is a failure.

It’s A Marvelous Thing That You Won’t Believe

The man answers these heretics and says, “Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened my eyes.”

• In other words, “I am marveled that you can’t understand where Jesus is from.”
• “Are you blind? It’s absolutely amazing that you can’t see this!!!”
• If the Pharisees were so great with the Scriptures, then they would see this in the Scriptures.
• This next Scripture is talking about Jesus Christ.

[52] Isaiah 35:5-6 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. 6 Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.

[53] Isaiah 35:10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

• This previously blind man was joyful now. He stood up to the evil. His sorrow fled from him.
• And he stands up for Jesus and continues preaching to these religious leaders. Imagine that.
• His parents were scared of those religious leaders. They would be outcasts of the synagogue.
• They would be embarrassed. They would look bad in front of all their friends and family.

Do you think this blind man who was healed cares about any of that? HE WAS BLIND!!!

• He was already an outcast. He begged for money. His neighbors said, “Is not this he that sat and begged?”
• We need to get over this trash about caring what other people think about us.
• “Oh, well, my family thinks bad of me because all I talk about is Jesus.”
• They’ll say, “Oh great, here we go again talking about Jesus.” Oh no, I might be an outcast.
• When you think that way, you need to think about John Chapter 9 and that blind man who Jesus healed.
• Be an outcast of this world. That’s what I want to be.
• I want people to talk about me because I stand up for Jesus. I want to be like that blind man that can see.
• I want Jesus to open my eyes so I can stand up against all the lies in this world.
• He continues to preach to these liars in John Chapter 9. The blind man continues in verse 31.

[54] John 9:31-32 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth. 32 Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind.

• If you’re evil continuously and you won’t listen to God at all, He won’t hear you when you call.
• If you love evil continuously, God will not hear you when you need Him.

[55] Psalm 66:16-19 Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul. 17 I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue. 18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: 19 But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.

• This blind man is telling them that God wouldn’t have heard Jesus if He wasn’t doing God’s will.
• The healed blind man says, “Has any man ever opened the eyes of one that was born blind?”
• He says, “I was born blind. I was blind from my birth. And this man named Jesus healed me.”
• “That could only come from God Almighty Himself. This means Jesus is from God.”

[56] John 9:33 If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.

• Jesus wouldn’t have been able to heal a man of blindness from birth if He wasn’t of God.
• The previously blind man continues to tell these religious people that Jesus is of God.

[57] John 3:2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

• Nicodemus believed that Jesus came from God because of His miracles. The Jews require a sign.
• And Jesus is giving them all the signs they need. But they still would not believe.

[58] John 9:34 They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.

• This healed man, YES, was standing there teaching them. They say the pope is sinless. He has no sin.
• But I can stand there and teach the pope because I have the Holy Spirit within me. It’s not me. It’s God.
• And the pope would say the same thing. “Who are you? You’re altogether born in sin and you teach me?”
• That’s a picture of the Pharisees. The Catholic religion is a false religion.

Peter Wasn’t The First Sinless Pope Of The Catholic Devil Church

Peter wasn’t the first pope of the Catholic church. Peter sure wasn’t sinless and never said he was.

• Peter denied Jesus Christ three times after being with Him for years.
• After seeing what Jesus did with his own eyes, he denied his very own Savior.
• All men are sinners, but the Pharisees act as if they’re better than this healed blind man.
• What happened to the blind man that day? The Jews cast him out. He became an outcast.
• Why? Because he wanted to follow the Lord Jesus Christ who healed him.
• Do you think that healed man is doing good today? Oh yeah, he’s doing great.

[59] Isaiah 66:5 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

• You might get cast out of your church, of your family, of your friends all because of Jesus Christ.
• They might laugh at you, call you crazy, make fun of you, and cast you out.
• “Let the Lord be glorified. He shall appear to your joy, and THEY shall be ashamed.”
• Yes, that will happen. You will be joyful and they will be ashamed when Jesus Christ shows up.

[60] Luke 6:22-23 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake. 23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

• Wouldn’t you take a great reward in heaven for a little laughing at you here on earth? I sure will.
• Don’t let it get you down. Verse 23 right there says to “Rejoice in that day and leap for joy!!!”
• When people are making fun of you and trying to get you down, rejoice and leap for joy!!! Why?
• Because you are earning a great reward in heaven. That blind man is in heaven with his great reward.
• And I want you to watch what happens next. This is amazing. And this should show you what happens.
• If you go through persecution in this world for Jesus, guess who shows up by your side?

[61] John 9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?

• Jesus hears that they cast him out. He finds that man. He’s come to his side. And he gets the man saved.
• Don’t you think that man was happy to see Jesus again? Jesus brings good to those who believe.
• Jesus asks that man: “Dost thou believe ON the Son of God?”
• Do you think this man is going to reject the Lord Jesus Christ? Oh no. He won’t.
• That means you should know what’s going to happen next.

[62] John 9:36-38 He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him? 37 And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee. 38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.

• Isn’t that amazing? The man stands up and preaches for Jesus. He goes up against the leaders of the Jews.
• He was a Jew himself. His parents were scared to get cast out from the synagogue.
• But he went after the actual leader of the real Jews, Jesus Christ.
• That man says, “Lord, who is the Son of God that I might believe ON HIM?”
• Jesus says, “You’re talking to Him right now.” The man knows what Jesus did for him.
• He says, “Yes, Lord, I believe.” And he wastes no time worshipping Jesus.
• That blind man saw Jesus face to face. Wouldn’t that be worth it?

Some people would say, “Well, it’s not fair for that man to be blind from birth when he didn’t deserve it.”

• If you saw Jesus face to face, you wouldn’t care to be blind for years.
• You wouldn’t think it’s so unfair for someone to go through something for Jesus Christ.
• If you knew the greatness of God, you wouldn’t complain so much about everyone’s situation.
• God is in control. That blind man? You’ll see him in heaven one day. He was saved that day.
• And you’ll see that everything he went through was perfectly fair. He’s doing amazing now.

[63] John 9:39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.

• I hope you’re starting to see the light in the story of this blind man being healed.
• He was blind but now he sees. He was lost but now he is found.
• Jesus came into the world to save the lost. He came to save the blind.
• He didn’t come for the righteous. The righteous do not need a Savior. They don’t need Jesus.
• He came to save the sinners. The Pharisees thought they were righteous. They had no sin.

They Didn’t Need Jesus And Weren’t Blind

They said, “We aren’t blind. We can see.” They didn’t need Jesus. And they were made blind by Jesus.

• They couldn’t see because Jesus rejected them. He healed the one with the right heart.
• He made blind the ones with an evil heart. And notice that was most of them in this chapter.
• One man got out of that chapter that day saved. He was blind but not anymore.
• The Jews could see but not anymore.

[64] Isaiah 44:17-18 And the residue thereof he maketh a god, even his graven image: he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth it, and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou art my god. 18 They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.

• You don’t want to do that. Don’t fall down to a false god in a false church. They’re all around here.
• You don’t want to be made blind by Jesus Christ. You want to admit that you need a Savior.
• Jesus is the only one who can save you. You better listen to His words in the Bible.

[65] John 9:40-41 And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? 41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.

• They understood that Jesus was talking to them. That’s why they hated Jesus. He reproved them.
• He rebuked them. And they hated Jesus for that. “Oh, are we blind also???”
• Notice what Jesus says there in the last verse, verse 41 of John Chapter 9.

“If ye were blind, ye should have no sin.”

• Just like that blind man who wanted to see light. All he saw was darkness his entire life.
• He wanted light. He wanted to be healed. But the Pharisees didn’t want anything to do with the light.
• Instead, they say, “We’re not blind. We see perfectly.” Jesus says, “Therefore, your sin remaineth.”
• Yeah, Jesus just told them right there that they were sinners too. They weren’t perfect like they thought.
• They were in the darkness. He made them blind, but they didn’t realize it at all.
• They had no need to be healed. He came to heal those who need it.
• They said, “We don’t need you, Jesus.” Therefore, their sin remained. Therefore, they went to hell.

[66] 1 John 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

• We all have sinned. We all sin every day more than we even realize.
• So don’t say, “Oh, I can see. I am not blind. I do not need a Savior to save me. I’m good.”
• Don’t say: “My boyfriend is Catholic. We’re good. I am a Pharisee. I’m good.”
• Don’t say: “I’ve been baptized. I’m good.”

[67] Proverbs 26:12 Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

[68] Isaiah 5:20-21 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! 21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

• Don’t call Jesus evil and evil good. Don’t call your false religion good and Jesus evil.
• Don’t call the evil pope your savior and Jesus Christ evil. Don’t call your preacher good and Jesus evil.
• If you do, there’s more hope for a fool than for you. That’s what the Bible says.
• WOE UNTO THEM who won’t listen to the words of Jesus Christ.
