[2] The title of the sermon today is “JOHN CHAPTER 14.”

Jesus Washed The Feet Of His Disciples

• Before we move to John Chapter 14, I want to give you a quick summary of John Chapter 13.
• We saw Jesus wash the feet of His disciples. That is a picture of Jesus washing our sins away.
• He’s the ONLY ONE who can wash our sins away. There is no other to save us.

[3] John 13:8 Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.

• Jesus says, “If I don’t wash your feet, you have no part with me.”
• Since Jesus is THE ONLY SAVIOR of the world, you must have a part with Him to make it to heaven.

[4] John 13:10 Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.

• If you’re washed in the blood of Jesus Christ, you’re saved and your soul is forgiven of sins.
• You don’t have to literally wash your body clean. If you’re washed by Jesus, you’re clean.
• If you’re not washed by Jesus, you’re not clean and you’ll never be clean.
• The Old Testament law is a picture of things to come with Jesus Christ.
• Jesus Christ is the only one who can wash you clean. But in the Old Testament, we see things like this.

[5] Leviticus 16:26 And he that let go the goat for the scapegoat shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward come into the camp.

• Once you’re clean, then you can come into the camp. If you aren’t clean, you can’t come in.

[6] Leviticus 17:15-16 And every soul that eateth that which died of itself, or that which was torn with beasts, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even: then shall he be clean. 16 But if he wash them not, nor bathe his flesh; then he shall bear his iniquity.

• You’ll see all kinds of laws about washing within the Old Testament.

[7] Numbers 19:7 Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the even.

[8] Numbers 19:19 And the clean person shall sprinkle upon the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day: and on the seventh day he shall purify himself, and wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at even.

• We know all of the Scripture concerning washing in the Old Testament is a picture of Jesus Christ washing our sins away.
• In John Chapter 13, Jesus is showing us these things.
• How do we know the washings in the Old Testament were a picture of Jesus Christ washing our sins away?

[9] Hebrews 9:8-9 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: 9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;

[10] Hebrews 9:10-11 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. 11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

[11] Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

• Jesus Christ took away all of those things in the law that He came to fulfill.
• The sacrifices, the altar, the tabernacle, the carnal ordinances, diverse washings, and more.
• He only took away those parts of the law because He came to fulfill those parts of the law.
• The other laws He did not take away. As an example, “Thou shalt not steal” is valid today.
• Washing yourself to enter into the camp of the children of Israel is not valid for us today.
• Why? Jesus already fulfilled that law for us! So again, Jesus is telling us that in John Chapter 13.

What else did we see in John Chapter 13?

• We saw that all of the disciples except Judas Iscariot were saved.
• All of the disciples except Judas Iscariot are in heaven right now.
• We learned that we need to serve one another in a Godly way.

Love Does Not Equal Getting And Doing Everything We Want

That doesn’t mean we should give each other every fleshly thing that we want.

• We shouldn’t support drug habits or other sin. We shouldn’t support fleshly desires.
• But we should support each other when we need something in the flesh.
• If someone needs clothing, we provide clothing. If someone needs food, we provide food.
• We also support spiritual desires in every way that we can.
• If someone needs help learning the Bible, we help them learn the Bible.

We also learned that Jesus is far greater than all of us and His Father is the greatest.

• For some reason, people can’t process this. Most people think: “I’m the greatest.”
• “I’m the most important.” But Jesus teaches us in John Chapter 13 that we aren’t so great.

[12] John 13:16-17 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. 17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

• You can be happy knowing that you aren’t greater than the Lord Jesus Christ.
• You will be happier understand that you are a servant of someone far greater.
• We saw John leaning on the bosom of Jesus and asking Him who will betray Him.
• Jesus answers them, gives Judas Iscariot the sop of bread, and Judas leaves quickly.
• The disciples still missed the fact that Judas Iscariot is the one who will betray Jesus.

[13] John 13:29 For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.

• Jesus then tells us that the Son of Man is glorified. He tells the disciples He won’t be there much longer.
• They can’t go where He is going at this time. Peter wants to give His life for Jesus.
• But Jesus is going to give His life for Peter. With that said, let’s go to verse 1 of John Chapter 14.

[14] John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

• That’s Jesus Christ, the Son of God, speaking right there. If you believe in God, believe in Jesus.
• He’s telling us that He is God. He says, “Let not your heart be troubled.”
• If Jesus says, “Let not your heart be troubled” why do we let our hearts be troubled?
• Let’s not be so troubled by the things that happen in this world. God is in control.

My wife and children trust me to drive them to and from church.

• They know that I watch everything when I’m driving. I use my mirrors. I pay attention.
• I know when someone is coming flying up behind me.
• I know when someone is coming flying head on. I know when someone is over the yellow line.
• They get in that car with me knowing that they could die, but they trust me to drive them.
• They know that I’m watching out for them.

Do you think God might be able to do a better job than I do? He sees everything.

• He sees that driver coming 50 miles down the road.
• He sees that driver 1,000 years before they drove that day. He knows what’s going to happen.
• He knows and sees all. And He says, “Let not your heart be troubled.” Do you understand this?
• If He already knows what’s going to happen and says:
• “Let not your heart be troubled.” Why are we troubled? When something bad happens, trust God.
• Let it go and trust God. That’s all He wants from us.

You Have A Father To Go To When You’re Troubled

Do you know how a child should have the Dad and Mom to go to when they have something troubling?

• The child says, “Dad. Mom. I need help. My car broke down. I need help.”
• The parent says, “Don’t worry, son. I’ll be there. Don’t worry, daughter. I’ll be there.”
• As people grow up, they face all those troubling things all alone. Dad and Mom don’t come to the rescue.

Wouldn’t it be great to always have someone to turn to in any situation?

• You do. He’s called God, and He’s much greater than any Dad or Mom. He can do miracles.
• He can save you from death and hell. No one else can do that. Why not trust Him with everything?
• When He says, “Let not your heart be troubled,” that means to trust Him with everything.
• And you won’t be troubled. When a virus comes to destroy life as we know it, don’t be troubled.
• When cancer comes, don’t be troubled. When job loss comes, don’t be troubled.
• When persecution comes and it will, let not your heart be troubled. Instead, rejoice for God is in control.
• It’s simply a matter of faith. Do you trust what Jesus Christ is telling you? I sure hope so.
• Watch exactly what He says next in John Chapter 14 verse 2.

[15] John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

• God has a house up there. And His house is not like the houses we build.
• Inside His house are MANY MANSIONS. If it weren’t true, Jesus wouldn’t say that.
• Just wait until you get to see God’s house. This earth can’t contain God so think about heaven.
• If you think the earth is great, and it is, wait until you see God’s house in heaven.

• I want to go swimming there. That looks really nice. That’s earth. Can you imagine heaven?
• No, we can’t because it’s going to be so amazing.
• Jesus says, “I go to prepare a place for you.” Notice Jesus is always taking us to heavenly thoughts.
• If something bad happens in this life, understand that you will be there in heaven.
• There will be a time when all pain and suffering is gone.

[17] Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

• And you’ll live in God’s house. There won’t be any thieves there. There won’t be any murderers there.
• There won’t be any sodomites there. There won’t be any pedophiles there. There won’t be any liars there.
• So why in the world are you troubled? Jesus comforts us with His words. Know where you’re headed.
• As every day passes, you’re closer to reaching the presence of God Almighty.
• We should look forward to that, and while we’re here, we want others to join us there in heaven.
• That’s why we preach the Gospel. That’s why we’re here right now.

[18] John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

• Jesus just told the disciples in the previous chapter that they can’t come with Him right now.
• Jesus is going to prepare a place for them. He is coming back. He will receive them into Himself.
• And they will go to be with Jesus forevermore. When you go to heaven, you’ll be with Jesus.
• When Jesus comes back in the clouds, you will ever be with the Lord.

[19] 1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

[20] 1 Thessalonians 4:17-18 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

• We comfort one another with these words.
• I am comforted to know that the child I never got to meet will be there in those clouds.
• “The dead in Christ shall rise first.” I’ll be meeting that child in heaven or at the coming of Jesus Christ.
• That’s what brings me comfort.

God Does A Perfect Job Of Taking Care Of His Children

I know God is taking care of that child. And He does a much better job than I.

• But I sure wanted the opportunity to raise that child and wanted the blessing of that child in my life.
• I know how great of a blessing children can be because we have some amazing blessings here right now.
• But I know that I will one day see that child I was never able to meet. And it will be a great day.
• Let not your hearts be troubled because Jesus is preparing a place for all of you.
• And I’ll see you there. We’ll most likely get there at different times, but I will meet you there.
• You can count on that because Jesus assures us that we’ll be there, and He doesn’t lie.
• If you can count on anyone, you can count on our Lord Jesus Christ.

[21] John 14:4-5 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

• I love this part. Jesus tells them, “You know where I’m going, and you know the way.”
• Let’s say we’re all on vacation together and Dad says, “I’m going over there. Meet me there. You know the way.”
• And I say, “No, I’m not from here. I don’t know the way. What are you talking about?”
• Thomas does the same thing. “Lord, we don’t know where you’re going. How do we know the way?”

[22] John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

• That’s not hard to understand. What’s the way to heaven? How do we make it to heaven?
• Jesus Christ is the way to heaven. It’s not anything else. It’s not religion, baptism, speaking in tongues.
• It’s not being a good person. It’s not doing good works. It’s none of those things. It’s Jesus Christ.
• He is the way. He is the truth. He is the life. He’s telling you the truth. He is the only way.
• Religions of this world including so-called “Christianity” have made the way hard to find.
• The King James Bible makes THE WAY easy to find. Just read it and trust what it says.
• No man can come to the Father in heaven BUT by Jesus Christ. That’s it. There is no other way.

[23] John 14:7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

• There is nothing else in existence like God. God is three persons in one God.
• Each of the persons of God are God. If you’ve seen one, you’ve seen the other.
• Some people will take that Scripture and tell us that Jesus is God the Father.
• Jesus doesn’t say that He’s God the Father. He says, “If you’ve seen me, you’ve seen Him.”
• If my Dad and I were perfectly aligned in every way, I could say: “If you’ve seen my Dad, you’ve seen me.”
• There are no 2 humans that can say that. But God Almighty can say that.

“If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.”

• Jesus is mentioning 2 different people right there. “ME” and “MY FATHER.”
• He doesn’t say, “I AM GOD THE FATHER.” You can’t use that as proof of Jesus being God the Father.
• Jesus is talking about Him and His Father. That’s 2 different people who are each God.
• Since they’re both fully God, when you’ve seen one you’ve seen the other.
• If the Holy Spirit is with you, God is with you. If you’re with Jesus, God is with you.
• If The Father is with you, God is with you.

[24] John 14:8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

• Philip now wants more proof form Jesus. His words weren’t enough. All the miracles weren’t enough.
• If there’s another one, Philip wants to see Him. He wants to see the Father.
• That’s proof that Philip knew Jesus was speaking of someone else that wasn’t there.
• “Show us the Father and we’ll be happy.”

[25] John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

• If you’ve seen Jesus, you don’t need to see anything else.
• If you’ve known Jesus, you don’t need to know anything else. Why is that?
• Jesus is God. That’s why. He is fully God. He is fully aligned with His Father perfectly.
• Jesus tells Philip: “You’ve been with me all this time, and you don’t know me???”
• “He that hath seen me hath seen the Father. But you still say, “SHOW US THE FATHER???”
• Jesus is telling them that they don’t need to see the Father to know the Father.

[26] Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

• If you’ve seen Jesus, you’ve seen the Father. This does not mean that Jesus is God the Father.
• There’s hundreds of Scriptures that prove Jesus is not the Father.
• But, they are so perfectly that they are alike in every way. Perfect is perfect.
• If you’ve seen perfect, you’ve seen perfect. There’s only ONE perfect and perfection is God.
• God the Father is perfect in every way. Jesus Christ is perfect in every way.
• The Holy Spirit is perfect in every way. If you’ve seen one PERFECT, you’ve seen PERFECT.
• If you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all.

[27] John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

• Obviously, there are more than one or Jesus wouldn’t be saying these words.
• Jesus explains the nature of God to us over and over again. Jesus and His Father are 2 different people.

A Father And Son Is A Picture Of God And His Son But Not Exactly

A Father and Son relationship in this world is a picture of God the Father and His Son Jesus.

• It’s not the same thing, but it’s a picture of God. For example, my Dad is in me. He passed on traits to me.
• And you can see him in me and me in him. That Father and Son relationship is picture of God.
• Jesus is in the Father and the Father is in Him. There’s 2 of them.
• Because the Father is within Him as God, Jesus doesn’t speak for Himself.

And Jesus doesn’t do the works Himself. God the Father is doing the works through Jesus.

• If my Dad gave me a job to do, taught me how to do it, and told me exactly what to do, you could say my Dad is doing that work.
• Without my Dad giving me that job, initiating everything, and teaching me how to do it, it wouldn’t have been done.
• Jesus tells us that same thing: “HE DOETH THE WORKS.” He’s talking about His Father.

[28] John 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.

• Jesus is saying that there’s no way He could do all those works if His Father wasn’t within Him.
• And the works that Jesus does should prove that God is within Him.
• Jesus is in the Father and the Father is in Jesus. The words of Jesus should be enough for us to believe.
• But, if not, Jesus says to believe for the very works’ sake. He gave all the proof required.
• But don’t make Jesus give you proof of everything. Just believe what He says. Mark it down.
• It’s the truth. No questioning. No reasoning. No signs to prove it. No miracles required.
• He said it. Believe it. It’s as good as done.

[29] John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

• Many people have trouble understanding this Scripture because they know the greatness of God.
• If you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, Jesus lives within you. You aren’t Jesus but He lives within you.

[30] Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

• Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is given to you.
• If you have the Spirit of Christ and you allow the Holy Spirit to lead you, you will do great things.
• Jesus says, “The works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do.”
• Winning souls to Jesus Christ is the greatest work we can do. Miracles aren’t the greatest work we can do.
• Healing people or raising people from the dead is not a greater work than helping save a soul.
• Raising someone from the dead gives that person a little longer to live here on earth.

Saving a soul gives that person everlasting life. Which work is greater?

• Preaching the Gospel and saving souls, or doing great miracles.
• Tree, move from that spot to that spot. What good did that do? No good at all.
• Pam, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.
• Pam says, “OKAY, I BELEIVE!!!” She just saved her soul and received everlasting life.
• Now that does a lot of good. Moving a tree from there to there doesn’t.
• Do you see what Jesus is talking about?

Jesus says, “And greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”

• We all should be able to win more souls to Jesus Christ combined because He went to heaven.
• He’s not down here physically in His body any more preaching the Gospel.
• I would love if He was, but He’s not because He said so. He’s going to His Father.
• If Jesus were the Father, He wouldn’t have said He was going to His Father.
• But because He is leaving, we have the opportunity to do greater works. He’s out of time.
• We have more time than He does right now. He’s gone. We aren’t.

[31] John 14:13-14 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

• If you ask anything in the name of Jesus, He says He will do it.
• “Jesus, I would like to have 1 billion dollars right now.” Thank you, Jesus.
• Is that what He means? Notice what He says in the middle of those verses.
• “THAT THE FATHER MAY BE GLORIFIED IN THE SON.”

The Love Of Money Doesn’t Glorify God

It doesn’t say so you can be glorified in your 1 billion dollars and roll around in them.

• He was just talking about doing greater works. He’s talking about saving souls.
• Saving souls is what you should be asking for versus 1 billion dollars.
• One soul saved is worth far more than 1 billion dollars. Get out of that mindset.
• Money versus eternal life. What would you rather have? Surely you wouldn’t say money.

[32] John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

• The fruit of a true Christian is more Christians. An apple tree brings forth apples.
• A pear tree brings forth pears. A grape vine brings forth grapes.
• A person with eternal life brings forth more people with eternal life.
• “Go and bring forth fruit that your fruit should remain.”
• “Whatsoever ye ask in my name, He may give it you.” He’s talking about important stuff. Not money.
• You need to see the spiritual side of things and not the fleshly side of things.
• Remember, Jesus is always talking to the spiritual side of things. He’s not fleshly. He never sins.

[33] John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

• I use this verse often in sermons so you’ve heard a lot about that one.
• LOVE IS KEEPING GOD’S COMMANDMENTS. That is the definition of love.
• Loving evil is not love. Loving evil is hate. Hating evil is love. Loving good is love.
• God is good. God is always good. Doing what God says to do is love.
• Not doing what God says to do is hate. That’s the truth.
• If you want to show Jesus you love Him, do what He says. When you do, then you love Him.
• If you want to love your children, do what God says. If you want to be a loving spouse, do what God says.
• It’s so simple and so easy. Yet, the world has confused love for getting whatever you want.

“My husband loves me so much because he got me expensive jewelry.”

• “What did your husband get you? Oh, I’m sorry. Yours doesn’t love you as much as mine loves me.”
• “My ring is worth $25,000 and yours is only worth $500. My husband loves me 50 times more than you.”
• A husband who gives you no jewelry but follows God’s commandments loves you infinite times more.
• Simply do what God says, and you will love others. There’s no question about it.
• You don’t have to worry about doing all of these things for other people. Just do what God says.
• Work for God, and you will love others.

[34] John 14:16-17 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

• Jesus prayed to His Father to give another Comforter. Jesus is a Comforter too.
• The Holy Spirit is another Comforter that will abide with us forever. He doesn’t go away.
• The Holy Spirit is God. Nothing can take God away when God says He isn’t going away.
• God never says He will take the indwelling of the Holy Spirit away from His saved people.
• Jesus is telling is that the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, will dwell within you. “And shall be in you.”

[35] John 20:22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

• That’s the first time the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is given. He breathed on them.
• This is Jesus fulfilling the promise He gave them in John Chapter 14.
• The disciples didn’t receive the indwelling of the Holy Ghost in Acts chapter 2.
• They received it in John Chapter 20 after Jesus was in His glorified and resurrected body.

[36] John 14:18-20 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

• Because He lives, we live. If He wasn’t alive, we wouldn’t have a chance.
• If He would have died and never arose from the dead, we wouldn’t have a chance.
• But there’s no way that He wouldn’t have risen from the dead. Death couldn’t hold Him.
• Because of the sacrifice Jesus made and because His blood spilled out, we live today.
• And when I say live, I mean alive forevermore.

I Know That God Lives Within Me

I love verse 20. Today, I know that God lives within me. I know He’s there. I can feel Him there.

• He’s in my thoughts daily. There’s no way I could understand any of the Bible if He wasn’t in here.
• “At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.”

[37] John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

• Some people will try to take that verse and use it as proof of their works based salvation.
• They’ll say, “See, you must obey God and keep His commandments every day to make it to heaven.”
• That’s not what that says. You need to read it again.
• If you keep the commandments of God, you’re showing God love.

You can never keep all of His commandments and show Him love every second of every day.

• I don’t do that to my wife or my kids because I’m not perfect.
• I don’t do that to God because I’m not perfect. In my heart, I wish that I could but I can’t.
• When you keep the commandments, you shall be loved of God and God will love you.
• And God will manifest Himself to you. And He has to all of us. He’s opened our eyes to the truth.
• And who is the truth. Jesus is the way, THE TRUTH, and the life.

[38] John 14:22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

• The Judas mentioned here is not Judas Iscariot as he left to go betray Jesus.
• The Judas mentioned here is Lebbaeus or Thaddaeus or Jude.
• That would be the writer of the Book of Jude.
• He asks, “How are you going to show yourself to us but not the rest of the world?”
• You should already know that answer. We see that some people won’t open their eyes.
• You try to give them the true Gospel.

“Simply believe on Jesus to save you, and you have everlasting life.”

• “Do you believe that?” No, I think you must be baptized. “Well, can I show you in the Bible.”
• Sure. You show them John 3:15, John 3:16, John 3:18, John 3:36, John 5:24, John 6:47.
• “Do you believe it now?” No. “Can I show you more?” Sure.
• You show them Romans 3:28, Romans 6:23, Galatians 2:16, Galatians 2:20, Galatians 3:7 and so on.
• “Do you believe it now?” No. That’s sad. They believe it depends on them with it doesn’t.
• Today, we understand what Jesus meant by showing Himself to the saved and not to others.
• It takes faith and that’s it. People who don’t have it won’t see Jesus.

[39] John 14:23-24 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.

• All you have to do to be saved is change your mind and believe what Jesus says.
• That’s called keeping His sayings. The first drop of love towards Jesus is believing what He says.
• “If a man love, he will keep my words.” We keep the words of Jesus by studying them and knowing them.
• If you don’t like to hear the Scriptures, you don’t like to hear the words of your CREATOR.
• “Well, this sermon is too boring.” Why is that? You don’t love to hear the words of Jesus?
• Jesus says right there at the end once again, “But the Father’s which sent me.” More than one.

[40] John 14:25-26 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

• How do you get the Holy Spirit? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ 100% to save you.
• Believe that He died, was buried, and arose from the dead. Believe He is the Son of God.
• Believe that He is the Savior of the world and that there is no other Savior but Jesus Christ.
• Then, you are born again with the Spirit of God who is the Comforter who is the Holy Ghost.

The Holy Spirit Is God Who Teaches Us All Things

And then, He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance.

• When you read and study the Scriptures, you will remember them through the Holy Spirit.
• It takes work. God wants you to work and study and read and learn. You’ll need it for eternity.
• It’s not just for your life here on this earth. It’s for all eternity. You should love God’s word now.
• And when God says, “HE WILL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS” that’s exactly what He means.
• If it’s important, God will teach it to you. God will help you remember.
• When Peter needed to remember the word of the Lord in Acts Chapter 11, he remembered.

[41] Acts 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

• If you read just one more verse in Acts Chapter 11, Peter says this:

[42] Acts 11:17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

• See how the Bible miraculously goes together everywhere.
• People will say that Peter preached repenting of sin and baptism to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
• Did Peter get confused? In Acts Chapter 11, he says the gift is given to those who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ.
• Peter wasn’t confused. The Holy Spirit wasn’t confused. People are confused as to what Acts 2:38 says.
• It simply says to change your mind and believe on Jesus because you’re received remission of sins.
• Be baptized because you’ve received the gift of the Holy Spirit by believing on Jesus Christ.
• God teaches us and brings His words to remembrance when we need His words.

[43] John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

• Jesus leaves His peace with you. It’s not peace from the world. It’s Godly peace. Far greater.
• It’s not a fleshly peace. It’s a spiritual peace which is far greater. Understand that.
• Don’t be troubled and don’t be afraid. Why would you be afraid of anything? You shouldn’t be afraid.

[44] Romans 8:31-33 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.

• God’s in charge. Who cares if someone accuses you of something? “Oh, he’s hateful.”
• “He doesn’t approve of all our evil doing, and he’s just hateful.”
• “Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect. IT IS GOD THAT JUSTIFIETH.”
• God is the judge of me. Not anyone else. I don’t fear anyone else. I fear God.
• If God be for us, who can be against us? I know. NO ONE. God will take care of it.

[45] Numbers 14:9 Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.

[46] Deuteronomy 33:29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

• Anyone who goes up against God will lose and be found a liar. It’s that simple. Don’t fear them. Fear God.

[47] John 14:28-29 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. 29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

• We should be happy that Jesus went to His Father. That’s where He belongs.
• Earlier I said I would be so happy if Jesus were here right now, but that wasn’t right.
• I should be happy for Jesus that He’s with His Father right now. Why? Because we love Him.
• And we care about Him. We should try putting what He wants first instead of what we want first.
• His Father is greater than Him. Do you see that? Obviously, Jesus is not God the Father.
• Jesus is telling them these things so they will believe Him when it comes to pass.
• They’ll remember what He said, and they’ll believe what He said. He gave them all these signs.

The Scriptures Must Be Fulfilled And There Is No Alternative

And look, the Scripture MUST be fulfilled. There is no other option.

• You’ll know what’s going to happen in the future if you trust the Scriptures.
• I tell people that I know 100% for sure Jesus is coming back after the tribulation but before God’s wrath is poured out.
• Man-made false teaching has made the Bible hard to understand. The words of Jesus are clear.
• And Scripture must be fulfilled.
• I know Jesus isn’t coming back tonight to rapture us because the Scriptures wouldn’t be fulfilled.
• He’s coming in the clouds to resurrect our bodies AFTER the tribulation. I believe what He says.
• Scripture will be fulfilled. And it always has been exactly as the Scripture saith.

[48] Romans 4:3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

• Abraham didn’t gain righteousness by doing good works. He simply believed God.
• And then God counted it to him for righteousness. That’s all you have to do. Works the same way.
• Not because I said so but because God said so.

[49] John 14:30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

• Jesus is going away to His Father. The prince of this world cometh. That’s Satan.
• Jesus won’t talk much with us any more except through the Comforter and His words.
• Some people act like this world has gotten so much better after Jesus ascended into heaven.
• Jesus tells us right there that it won’t get any better. The world is getting worse.
• Is that not evident? The Scriptures must be fulfilled. And that’s exactly what’s happening.
• So, as the world gets worse, we should rejoice because the Day of the Lord is getting closer.
• This world will not get any better. And Satan has NOTHING in Jesus Christ. Zilch. Zero. Nothing.

[50] John 14:31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

• Jesus is doing exactly what His Father asked Him to do. The world knows Jesus loves His Father.
• He doesn’t say that He greatly loves Himself and He’s going home to Himself.
• He’s doing what His Father told Him to do. Now we need to do what Jesus asked us to do.
• “ARISE AND LET US GO HENCE.”
