[2] The title of the sermon: “A BIBLE STUDY ON DEVILS.”
Why Is The Devil And His Devils Not Studied In Churches?
- Today we’re going to study something that isn’t preached in churches today.
- You won’t hear this preached because many of the churches have been taken over by devils.
- And yes, I am very serious about the statement I just made so you need to be very careful out there.
Did you know the word “demon” isn’t in the King James Bible once? It doesn’t show up once.
- But the words devil and devils show up many times. I want you to see this today.
- We’re going to look up all the words and phrases related to devils within the King James Bible:
- Devil, devils, devilish, unclean spirit, unclean spirits, foul spirit evil spirit, evil spirits.
- Here are the results within the Bible when we look up all of those words and phrases:
[3]
- There are 154 matches in 138 different verses. The word devil is found the most and that is 61 times.
- Devils is found 55 times. Unclean spirit is 11 times. Evil spirit and unclean spirits are found 10 times.
- Foul spirit is found twice in the Bible. And the word devilish is found once in the Bible.
- Now, where do these words show up? Would you think they are in the Old Testament more often?
- Or, would they be in the New Testament more often? Think about that.
- This isn’t being taught in churches today. So, where do you think these words show up the most?
- Let’s see. Take a look at this chart.
[4]
- The Old Testament is shown there on the left and the New Testament is there on the right.
- The Old Testament has only 12 matching verses. The New Testament has 126 matching verses.
- So, this topic is very important for the times that we are living in today but it’s not being taught anywhere.
- Let’s see which books of the Bible contain the most information about devils.
[5]
- We see the Gospel of Luke with 32 matching verses or almost ¼ of all the verses in the Bible.
- But notice what you see at the top here. Look at the first four with the most matching Scriptures.
- They are the 4 gospels of Jesus Christ: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
- They contain 2/3 of all the Scriptures in the Bible about devils and unclean spirits.
- What does this teach us? It’s actually a very simple conclusion.
When Jesus Shows Up, The Devils Know They Are In Trouble
When Jesus shows up, the devils will be leaving. They know who Jesus is and they fear Him.
- We’ll see this today as we go over this Bible study on devils.
- Isn’t it great to know that your King, Jesus Christ, is the Almighty God and all the devils run from Him?
- Revelation is the book with the fifth most occurrences of these words and phrases about devils with 9.
- The Acts of the Apostles is next with 8. The Old Testament book with the most is 1 Samuel with 8.
- If you remember all the stories about King Saul and the evil spirits from the Lord, you’ll know why.
The important fact here is to see that the New Testament contains 91% of Bible verses about devils.
- Again, understanding the Scriptures about devils is very important in the times we are living in.
- The devils didn’t just disappear once we hit the New Testament.
- They are very active in the New Testament.
- Obviously, I cannot go over all 138 verses within this sermon but I have put those verses on the website.
- Please take the time to go over all 138 verses and the chapters that go with them.
- You can be assured that I studied all of the Scriptures for this sermon, and I didn’t leave anything out.
- When we study a topic here at this church, we study in the context of the entire Bible.
- Let’s get started with the very first occurrence of any of these words or phrases in the Bible.
[6] Leviticus 17:6-7 And the priest shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar of the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and burn the fat for a sweet savour unto the LORD. 7 And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations.
- The children of Israel were offering sacrifices to devils and had gone a whoring after devils.
- People who go after false gods are actually going after devils. Those people are whores spiritually.
- God commands them here to bring all their sacrifices to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
- If not, this means they are offering sacrifices to devils.
We all need to ensure we aren’t worshipping false gods. Is something more important to you than God?
- We need to make sure that God is number one in our lives at all times. Don’t go after devils.
- They are very tricky and very deceiving. Churches today are filled with devils.
- Churches are actually worshipping devils who imitate Jesus Christ, but they are actually nothing like Him.
- Please pay close attention to this next Scripture. This is talking about the children of Israel:
[7] Deuteronomy 32:16-19 They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger. 17 They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not. 18 Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee. 19 And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.
- You will provoke God to jealousy with strange gods. These strange gods are devils.
- Devils are spirits that we cannot physically see. Devils work for the devil who is Satan and who is Lucifer.
- The children of Israel sacrificed unto devils. They made them important in their lives.
- DO NOT FORGET GOD. Do not forget the one who formed you.
- But also make sure you see verse 19 right there.
- “And when the Lord saw it, HE ABHORRED THEM.” This means God greatly hated them.
- So, please, make sure you aren’t worshipping devils in your life. You’re playing with fire, literally.
- Watch what the very next verses say:
[8] Deuteronomy 32:20-21 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith. 21 They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.
- And there’s much more than that. God will destroy you if you worship devils and Him. Understand that.
- So, those are the first two verses in the Bible about devils. We learn from those to NEVER worship devils.
- You can avoid that by staying in the word of God constantly and learning about the one true God.
- You MUST make sure you are worshipping the right God. Now, let’s learn more about an evil spirit.
- This next verse is the first time we see the phrase “evil spirit” within the Bible.
[9] Judges 9:22-23 When Abimelech had reigned three years over Israel, 23 Then God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the men of Shechem; and the men of Shechem dealt treacherously with Abimelech:
- Make sure you see this and understand this. Verse 23 says: “Then God sent an evil spirit.”
- Yes, God can send evil spirits. For what reason? We learn a lot about this right here in Judges Chapter 9.
- God can send evil spirits that will affect you, trouble you, and lead to controversy.
- If God is doing something, you can know it’s the right thing.
- God did this right here so the men of Shechem would deal treacherously with Abimelech.
- Why is that? God is punishing Abimelech and uses the evil spirit to punish him. What did he do wrong?
- The very next verse says this.
[10] Judges 9:24 That the cruelty done to the threescore and ten sons of Jerubbaal might come, and their blood be laid upon Abimelech their brother, which slew them; and upon the men of Shechem, which aided him in the killing of his brethren.
- There’s the reason God sent the evil spirit. Abimelech murdered all his brothers, 70 of them.
- So God gives him this punishment and laid their blood upon Abimelech and the men of Shechem.
- God sends an evil spirit to stir up trouble between them. Do you see how God does things?
- What happened to Abimelech?
[11] Judges 9:53-54 And a certain woman cast a piece of a millstone upon Abimelech’s head, and all to brake his skull. 54 Then he called hastily unto the young man his armourbearer, and said unto him, Draw thy sword, and slay me, that men say not of me, A woman slew him. And his young man thrust him through, and he died.
- That was the end of Abimelech. God ended him by sending this evil spirit.
- Now, please understand that the evil spirit didn’t enter into Abimelech. The evil spirit stirs up trouble.
- Make sure you see this and understand.
- The Bible doesn’t say the evil spirit entered into any of them and possessed them.
[12] 1 Samuel 16:14-15 But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him. 15 And Saul’s servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee.
- After what we saw in Judges Chapter 9 with Abimelech, you should understand this better now.
- The Spirit of the Lord was with King Saul because he was God’s anointed or chosen king.
- But King Saul went against God, ignored God’s commandments, and God took His Spirit away from Saul.
- This doesn’t mean that King Saul wasn’t a saved man. They didn’t have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
- In the Old Testament, the Hoy Spirit comes upon people but it wasn’t the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
- We don’t see the indwelling of the Holy Spirit that never leaves us until John Chapter 20.
So, this is the point where Saul loses the Spirit of the Lord and instead receives an evil spirit from the Lord.
- This evil spirit is sent to trouble Saul. Notice that Saul is not possessed by an evil spirit.
- King Saul was a saved man at this point. He was saved before he became the first king of Israel.
- God didn’t send an evil spirit from the Lord to possess King Saul and make him do specific things.
- Once a person is saved, Old or New Testament, a devil cannot possess that person.
- Why is that? I want to show you something with the Scriptures before we go any further.
A Saved Person With The Indwelling Of The Holy Spirit Cannot Be Possessed
This should 100% prove to you that a saved person cannot be possessed by a devil or devils.
- Now, listen, the devil and devils can trouble you. They can talk you into doing things. They can affect you.
- But, once saved, they can’t enter into you and possess you. They can’t take over your body.
- Why is that? Once saved, God now owns your body. YOUR BODY IS HIS. He owns your body.
- He’s not going to allow a devil to possess you or take over your body. King Saul wasn’t possessed.
- Here’s the Scriptures that you need to understand. Please listen closely.
[13] Mark 3:22-23 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils. 23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
- Here, we see the scribes (similar to Seminary professors), accusing Jesus of being possessed by the devil.
- So, Jesus had a full anointing of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit within Jesus Christ was the Holy Spirit.
- Understand what that means. HOLY is HOLY. The Holy Spirit is not an evil spirit or devil spirit.
- The Holy Spirit is not a foul spirit or an unclean spirit. But they accused Jesus of having an evil spirit within.
- That’s a very bad thing to do. Don’t accuse Jesus Christ, the Almighty God, of having an evil spirit.
[14] Mark 3:24-25 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
- Make sure you understand what Jesus Christ is saying right here.
- Once you are saved with everlasting life, you are God’s possession. The Scriptures teach this.
- Do you think God is going to allow an evil devil to take over your body and control you? No.
- Being possessed with a devil is that devil taking over your body completely.
- A devil or devils can trouble you when you’re saved, but God will not allow them to take over your body.
Before I move to the next Scripture, look closely at verse 25.
- “And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.”
- Remember, the scribes are accusing Jesus of being possessed by the devil. That is His response.
- In other words, you can’t have the Holy Spirit and be possessed by an unclean spirit.
- This is what Jesus says. And that’s an exact response to an accusation of devil possession of His body.
[15] 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
- If you are saved right now, your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. Look, there’s no going around this.
- If your body is a temple of the Holy Ghost, who is God, do you think another spirit will possess you?
- They will trouble you. That’s why God allows them to be around. They will tempt you. They will test you.
- But they will not take over your body and make you do things. You can’t go: “The devil made me do it.”
Many people will blame everything they do on the devil. “THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT.”
- Wrong. If you’re saved, you are not possessed by devils. You make your own choices.
- It’s your fault when you mess up even if an evil spirit is troubling you. It’s still your choice.
- I want to continue in Mark Chapter 3. Jesus just said that a house cannot be divided against itself.
- A divided house cannot stand. Once you’re saved, you stand forevermore because Jesus says so.
[16] Mark 3:26-27 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 27 No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.
- The strongest man of all is God.
- A devil can’t enter into God’s house, which is your body, and spoil your body.
- But it can work the other way around. Jesus Christ can cast out devils from a body. Why?
- Because He is the strongest. But a devil can’t cast out the Holy Spirit from your body. Do you see this?
- Jesus Christ can and will spoil the homes of all the devils.
[17] Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
- The devil, Satan, is a spirit. The devil’s angels are spirits. God will throw them all into hell.
- How is that? Because God is infinite times stronger than all of them put together.
- The final home for all of these devils and unclean spirits is hell or everlasting fire.
- I want to show you what Jesus says in Mark Chapter 3 as we continue in verse 28.
[18] Mark 3:28-30 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: 29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: 30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.
- Blaspheming the Holy Spirit is an unforgiveable sin. You can’t blaspheme the Holy Spirit if you’re saved.
- These scribes clearly are not saved because they blaspheme the Holy Spirit. How did they do that?
- You don’t want to blaspheme the Holy Spirit. What does that mean? The Bible tells you in verse 30.
- When they tell Jesus Christ that He has an unclean spirit, they are blaspheming the Holy Spirit.
- The Spirit within Jesus Christ is “THE HOLY SPIRIT” and they just called the Holy Spirit an unclean spirit.
Let’s Continue The Bible Study On Devils Using The Scriptures
So, remember what we’re doing here in this sermon.
- We’re studying Scripture and learning from Scriptures that tell us about devils and unclean spirits.
- We know for sure, from the Scriptures, that devils cannot possess the body of a saved person.
- But we do know that they can 100% sure trouble you and your flesh. They can affect your flesh.
- But only if God allows them to do so as a test. Make sure you understand this.
- Make sure you understand the examples within the Bible as God put these examples there for us.
Before we go back to 1 Samuel, let’s look at Job for a minute.
- Remember that Satan is the devil and the leader of the devils and unclean spirits.
- Job was a saved man. He didn’t have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit but he was a saved man.
- God doesn’t allow devils to enter into saved people, Old or New Testament.
- There’s not one example of a saved man or woman being possessed by a devil.
- Think about Job. God was protecting Job.
[19] Job 1:6-7 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. 7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
- Satan, the devil, is not in hell right now. He walks the earth, and he can go in and out of heaven.
- He is a spirit. He is not flesh and bones. He can enter into people who are not saved and possess them.
- He can take over flesh and bones, but he is not flesh and bones. He is a spirit. He is a covering cherub.
- He is a living creature and a beast. The Bible says so. He has 4 faces and 4 wings.
- The 4 faces of Satan are of a man, lion, ox, and eagle. Notice an ox or a calf is one of Satan’s faces.
- You’ll see people making images of calves throughout the Bible to worship.
Satan covered the throne of God before he became evil.
- He took a third of the angels with him.
- The Bible tells us that 10,000 x 10,000 or 100 million angels plus some more surround the throne of God.
- That means there are at least 50 million angels that went with Satan’s side.
- This means there are at least 50 million devils out there.
The Book of Daniel tells us that God’s angels withstand the evil angels. It’s a fight for God’s angels.
- It’s angel versus angel. It’s good angels versus evil angels. It’s good spirits versus evil spirits.
- With Job, God was protecting him. Satan asks God to stop protecting him so God does.
- God controls what a devil can do to you. Understand that. God is in control.
[20] Job 1:10-12 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. 11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. 12 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
- God tells Satan that he can’t touch Job.
[21] Job 2:4-6 And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life. 5 But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face. 6 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.
- Now God allows Satan to touch Job’s flesh.
[22] Job 2:7 So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.
- The Lord allowed this. Without the Lord allowing it, this wouldn’t have happened.
- Job gets sore boils all over his body. So a devil can affect your flesh if God allows this.
- But Satan didn’t possess Job. Right? He wasn’t taking over his body but he did smite him with boils.
- You can see the power that devils have. But they have no power if God’s protection is there.
[23] Matthew 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
- Jesus Christ was tempted by Satan. He tempted Jesus Christ. He tried to get Jesus Christ to go against God.
- But the devil didn’t take over the body of Jesus Christ and attempt to possess Jesus Christ.
- We can be affected by these unclean spirits but we cannot be possessed by them.
- If the devil tempted Jesus, do you think we would be exempt from that as the prosperity preachers teach?
- We aren’t exempt from being tempted, but we are exempt from being possessed.
[24] 1 Samuel 16:23 And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.
- An evil spirit can come upon you just as this evil spirit did to Saul. But that spirit cannot enter into you.
- That spirit cannot possess you. It’s there to trouble you. This is what the Bible says.
- And that evil spirit can go away just as we see right here. And it can come back again.
- Saul was a saved man. But the Spirit of the Lord upon him had left him.
- But we see in 1 Samuel Chapter 28 that Saul is saved and went to heaven.
King Saul Went To Heaven Even After The Spirit Of God Left Him
Even without the anointing of the Spirit of God upon him, he still goes to heaven because he was saved.
- Remember, the Spirit of the Lord still comes upon people but it is not the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
- Now, we have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and we can have the Holy Spirit come upon us.
- Our goal is to be FILLED with the Holy Spirit and have the Holy Spirit come upon us with power.
- Let’s look at more Scriptures and continue to learn more.
[25] 2 Chronicles 11:14-15 For the Levites left their suburbs and their possession, and came to Judah and Jerusalem: for Jeroboam and his sons had cast them off from executing the priest’s office unto the LORD: 15 And he ordained him priests for the high places, and for the devils, and for the calves which he had made.
- Jeroboam was an evil, evil, evil king. He ordained priests for the devils and for the calves.
- Remember, one of the faces of Satan is an oxen or a calf. Jeroboam was a devil worshipper.
- He was in Israelite and the king of Israel. He didn’t go to heaven. All of physical Israel is not saved.
[26] Psalm 106:36-38 And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them. 37 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils, 38 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.
- This is talking about the children of Israel. This happens today. If you don’t think so, you need to wake up.
- Abortion is evil. Abortion is very Satanic.
- Millions of babies are being killed by their own parents every year.
- They are sacrificing their sons and daughters to devils. You can say that about these evil churches too.
- “Well, I send my son to Northeast Christian for the youth group there.”
Yeah, why don’t you offer him up to the devil because that’s who they worship there with their women pastors.
- We will not sacrifice our children to the devils. We will worship God and God alone here.
- We will use His Scriptures because we love Him and His Scriptures. We will accept His truth here.
- What will devils tempt you with? What did the devil tempt Jesus Christ with?
- Food. Remember that. The word of God is our food.
He tried to get Jesus Christ to tempt God. Tempting God is saying, “God, if you’re there, do this.”
- “God, if you’re there, you need to do something.” Don’t tempt God. The devil will try to get you to do this.
- The devils will try to deceive you into worshipping something other than God. Don’t do it.
- The churches have been deceived by the devils and they are worshipping some other Jesus.
- Let’s continue through the Scriptures and continue to learn.
[27] Matthew 4:24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
- Now, I want to make something very clear here. Diseases aren’t devils possessing your body.
- For example, having a seizure from epilepsy does not mean you are possessed by a devil.
- Having things wrong with you doesn’t mean you are possessed with a devil. Paul had a thorn in his flesh.
- He wasn’t possessed by a devil.
- If you see someone shaking on the ground, it doesn’t mean they have a devil.
- They could, but it doesn’t mean that. It might just be a disease that they have.
[28] Matthew 7:22-23 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
- You might hear from people saying that they cast out devils.
- People might think they see the devils leaving. That doesn’t mean those people are of God.
- That Scripture proves it right there. These people said that they cast out devils in the name of Jesus Christ.
- And they weren’t saved. Jesus says to them, “I NEVER KNEW YOU.”
- You’ll see this a lot in so-called “Christian” churches and denominations like the Pentecostals.
- You’ll see this from losers like Dr. Bob Rodgers. He’s an evil false preacher in Louisville.
- He can’t get the simple Gospel of Jesus Christ correct.
[29] Matthew 8:28-29 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. 29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
- The devils know that Jesus is the Son of God.
- Devils aren’t saved through Jesus Christ because they aren’t human. They are not flesh and blood.
- Jesus came in the flesh and His blood spilled out to save people who are flesh and blood.
- He didn’t come to save the evil devils who are spirits. Yes, the devils also believe and tremble.
- What do you see right here, though, in these Scriptures?
Two possessed with devils come out of the tombs. They are exceeding fierce. No man can pass that way.
- For example, you and I wouldn’t get past these two people possessed with devils.
- They say to Jesus, “Are you here to TORMENT us before the time?” This means Jesus will torment them.
- They know that because they’ve been around a long time.
- And their time to be tormented is not yet here. But it’s coming and they know it.
[30] Matthew 8:30-32 And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding. 31 So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine. 32 And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.
- The devils ask Jesus to suffer them to go away into the herd of swine. Jesus has power over all the devils.
- You need to see this. We don’t. Jesus has the power. Jesus sent the devils into a herd of swine.
- This means Jesus cares much more for a human life than an animal.
- In this world today, people worship their animals and could care less about the humans who have souls.
- Jesus cares about the humans because they can be saved. The animals don’t need to be saved.
- Pets aren’t going to heaven. I don’t care if you like that or not because it’s the truth from the Bible.
- Some older women will want to curse me and kill me over that statement.
[31] Ecclesiastes 3:21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?
- The spirit or the life of animals do not go back to heaven. When they die, they are done.
- They don’t have souls. They don’t know right or wrong. They simply act on instincts.
- If they are really hungry and you are passed out on the floor with blood gushing out, they will eat you.
- They don’t love you by following God’s commandments. When they die, they are finished.
- We shall respect animals and not treat them badly, but we don’t lift them above humans.
[32] Matthew 9:32-34 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil. 33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel. 34 But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.
- Dumb means mute or someone who won’t or can’t speak.
- This doesn’t mean 100% of the time that the person is possessed, but it can mean this.
- I only say this because it’s backed up with Scriptures. There is a blind man in John Chapter 9.
- Some people might be blind because of a devil but not all blind people are possessed with devils.
[33] John 9:1-3 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. 2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? 3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
- The man wasn’t blind because of sin or anything else. He wasn’t possessed with a devil.
- He was blind so the works of God should be made manifest in him.
[34] Matthew 10:1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
- Jesus called his 12 disciples and gave them power against unclean spirits.
- He gave THEM power to cast them out. He gave THEM power to heal all manner of sickness and disease.
- Let’s see who Jesus gave this power to directly.
[35] Matthew 10:2-4 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; 3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; 4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
- Let me see. Let’s check the names on this list here. Is my name on there? Is your name on there?
- Is Kenneth Copeland’s name shown there? He wouldn’t cast out a devil because he has many devils.
- Is Benny Hinn and his jacket listed there? Are all these Pentecostal preachers on there?
- I don’t see their names listed there. Apostles have this power to cast out devils and to heal directly.
- “NOW THE NAMES OF THE TWELVE APOSTLES ARE THESE.”
You And I Are Not Apostles With Special Powers
So, if you aren’t an apostle, and you aren’t, then you better be very careful trying to cast out devils.
- A qualification to be an apostle is witnessing the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- Have you seen Jesus face to face? If the answer is no, you aren’t an apostle. I’m not an apostle.
- You can pray and ask God to cast out the devils. But you better be careful playing games with the devils.
[36] Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
- That command is directly to the apostles. CAST OUT DEVILS. You can’t do this with your words.
- But you can pray about it and ask God to cleanse someone of a devil. Prayer will work with faith.
[37] Matthew 11:18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.
- John the Baptist was also accused of having a devil just like Jesus Christ was accused.
- Our government is going to start accusing us of being evil over this evil COVID-19 vaccine.
- When we preach against homos, sodomites, and queers, they accuse us of being evil.
- God preaches against homos, sodomites, and queers. IS HE EVIL? God rained down fire on them.
[38] Matthew 12:22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
- Again, the blind and dumb may be possessed with a devil but not all of them.
- So, we’re continuing through the Bible. We’re finding Scriptures about devils.
[39] Matthew 12:43-44 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. 44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
[40] Matthew 12:45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
- If an unclean spirit is cast out of someone, this doesn’t mean the person is saved.
- The devils can enter into that person again if they don’t get saved. And it’s going to be worse than before.
[41] Matthew 15:22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
- We see a woman’s daughter is vexed with a devil. Children can be possessed by devils. Please listen.
[42] Matthew 17:14-16 And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, 15 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. 16 And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
- Notice that devil possession can lead people to fall into water and into fire. They have been taken over.
[43] Matthew 17:17-18 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. 18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
- The disciples couldn’t cure the child. Jesus gave them power, but great faith is required for this devil.
[44] Matthew 17:19-21 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? 20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. 21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
- Even the apostles who had this power couldn’t cast this one out without prayer and fasting.
- But Jesus rebuked the devil and the devil departed out of him immediately.
[45] Mark 1:23-26 And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out, 24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. 25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. 26 And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.
- Notice this unclean spirit starts talking in the plural. “Let US alone. Art thou come to destroy US?”
- You know how these evil gender haters use plural words to describe themselves?
- “You can refer to me as THEY.” What do you mean? Is there more than one of you?
- Yeah, there could be. Those people are probably possessed by devils. They are evil people.
- We are all humans and we are all singular. But the unclean spirits are plural. So be careful.
- “When the unclean spirit had torn him.” Be very careful.
[46] Mark 1:27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.
- People witnessed Jesus doing these things and they wrote about it right here for you to see.
- Do you know anyone who can actually command the devils? JESUS CAN. He is God. He proved it.
- Let’s keep learning about devils and unclean spirits with the Scriptures.
- What do we know about people who have devils? Let’s see.
[47] Mark 5:2-4 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, 3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: 4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.
[48] Mark 5:5-7 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. 6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, 7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.
[49] Mark 5:8-9 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. 9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.
- No man could bind this man with the unclean spirit. Very strong. Much stronger than a normal man.
- He was always crying and cutting himself with stones. He says, “My name is Legion: for WE are many.”
- People who cry and cut themselves may be possessed with devils.
- If they refer to themselves as MANY and PLURAL, they may be possessed with devils.
- You need to be very careful around those people.
Jesus Had Cast Seven Devils Out Of Mary Magdalene
[50] Mark 16:9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.
- Who was the very first person who saw Jesus after He was resurrected from the dead?
- It wasn’t the disciple Jesus loved. It wasn’t a man. It was a woman named Mary Magdalene.
- Was she always the greatest person on earth? No way. Jesus had cast seven devils out of her previously.
- She sees Jesus Christ first after His resurrection from the dead.
- If you’ve been possessed by devils before, understand that you can be saved.
- Mary Magdalene loved Jesus with all her heart, soul, and mind and we’ll meet her one day in heaven.
[51] Luke 8:12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
- Here’s another thing you need to learn today. Don’t let the devil and his angels take the word from you.
- You might be saved right now, but there’s many things we need to learn.
- Don’t allow the devil to stop you. For example, being in church is very important.
- It’s actually one of the most important things you have to do each week.
- When something tries to stop you from church, understand the devils might be trying to stop you.
- Don’t allow the evil angels a win. Always get to church. You will show God how much you love Him.
[52] Luke 8:27 And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.
- This is Legion again right here. He would walk around without clothes.
- Streakers may be possessed by devils. Maybe and maybe not.
[53] Luke 10:17-20 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
- Make sure you see this. Lots of people want to be able to cast out devils.
- Jesus tells these 70 disciples here to not rejoice over casting out devils.
- But He says to rejoice because their names are written in heaven. That’s what we rejoice over.
[54] John 6:70-71 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? 71 He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.
- I won’t go into all the details of Judas Iscariot as that is an entire sermon in itself.
- But Jesus chose his twelve disciples and He knew one of them was a devil. He would betray Jesus.
[55] John 13:27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.
- Satan actually entered into Judas Iscariot. This is what the Bible says.
- But notice that Satan was FIRST able to put things into the heart of Judas Iscariot.
- THEN, he was able later to possess Judas Iscariot. Why? Judas Iscariot wasn’t saved.
- If you want to prevent a devil from possessing you, you must be saved right now.
- How? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Put all your trust in Him right now. Call out to Him right now.
Satan Is The Father Of All Devils
Don’t betray Jesus Christ and be like a devil. Satan is the father of all devils.
- Jesus tells the Pharisees that they are of their father the devil. They act like devils.
- They submit to devils. They call Jesus Christ a liar.
- They said Jesus Christ had a devil because He healed a man with a disorder of 38 years on the Sabbath.
- Jesus was falsely accused of having a devil more than anyone.
[56] Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
- The devil and his devils attempt to oppress you and hold you down. God is the opposite.
- God wants to lift you and bring you closer to Him. The devil and his evil little minions do the opposite.
- But we don’t have to allow that. Don’t allow them to lead you down the wrong path.
- Let me show you an example the other way around so you understand this too.
- Remember, we’re going throughout the Bible and learning many things about devils.
[57] Acts 13:8-10 But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith. 9 Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him, 10 And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
- We see Elymas the sorcerer. Paul sets his eyes upon him and says that he is a child of the devil.
- The very next verse is what I want you to see here.
[58] Acts 13:11-12 And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand. 12 Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.
- God has all might and all power. He punishes this child of the devil here with blindness.
- God can do whatever He wants at any time and you can know it’s the right thing.
[59] Acts 19:11-12 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: 12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.
- Notice that the Scriptures say: “God wrought SPECIAL MIRACLES by the hands of Paul.”
- We aren’t the apostle Paul. Paul had special powers given to him by Jesus Christ.
- Please hear and see the very next verse.
[60] Acts 19:13-14 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. 14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.
[61] Acts 19:15-16 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? 16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
- Notice that these people used the name of Jesus Christ to cast out this evil spirit.
- Didn’t work, did it? The man with the evil spirit leaped on them, attacked them, and wounded them.
- All types of people use the name of Jesus Christ today and they blaspheme his name at the same time.
- We can’t love the Jesus Christ of the Bible without loving all of His words and commands.
[62] Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
- Wiles of the devil are tricks and deception.
- We must put on the armor of God to stand against these tricks.
- The armor of God includes salvation, the Bible, the Gospel, faith, and truth.
- You use all of those things to prevent the devil and his angels from deceiving you.
[63] 1 Timothy 3:6-7 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
- Pride causes us to fall into the condemnation of the devil. Don’t be a proud person.
- We also need to be following Jesus Christ so no one can say anything bad about us.
- We can fall into the snare of the devil in that way. We must do our best to not sin.
[64] 1 Timothy 4:1-3 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
- Most churches have given heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.
- What’s an example? The Seventh Day Adventists command you to abstain from meats.
- They still command this even though 1 Timothy Chapter 4 tells you this directly. They are blinded.
- They cannot understand the Scriptures. The devils are winning over them.
- Their entire religion is based on a false doctrine and a false god they created.
[65] 2 Timothy 2:24-26 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
- This is what I pray for the Seventh Day Adventists that I know. Please wake up.
- I hope that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil.
- This is what I pray for the Oneness Pentecostals that I know.
- This is what I pray for the Jehovah’s False Witnesses that I know.
[66] 1 Peter 5:8-9 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
- The devil is not possessing us, but he is attacking us, tempting us, and deceiving us.
- He is attempting to make us fall. He attempts to reduce our faith in God, but we are to stay strong in faith.
[67] Revelation 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
- The devil has power in this world but only because God allows him to have power.
- He can cast us into prison through the evil leaders of this world. So don’t be surprised if it happens.
- We’re getting closer and closer to being called extremists because of our love for Jesus Christ.
- We’re getting closer and closer to prison for calling homosexuality evil. Let me be clear. It’s very evil.
The Devil Is Deceiving The World Right Now
[68] Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
- It’s very clear that the devil walks around this earth today with his evil minions. They deceive this world.
- Men think they are women. Women think they are men.
- Homosexuals think it’s not nasty to do what they do. People don’t think we can determine gender.
- People are commanding others to use their pronouns of they, us, we, them, it.
- If a man tells me that I must refer to him as WE and US or THEY and THEM, I will tell him he’s crazy.
- I will NEVER use gender identity pronouns because I’m not an idiot. I’m not a fool. I have a brain.
- I am not deceived by the devil and his devils. WAKE UP PEOPLE.
[69] Revelation 16:13-14 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
- This is what you need to understand today. The spirits of devils can do miracles. The Bible says so.
- “For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles.” Do not be deceived by people who work miracles.
- All of this is coming soon. In the end, people will claim to be Christ. Don’t be deceived.
- Follow the Bible. Know the order of events as given to us by Jesus Christ. You won’t be deceived.
[70] Revelation 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
- The United States of America is becoming more and more like Babylon.
- Babylon is become the habitation of devils.
- If I had to guess, our country might be the Babylon being talked about there in Revelation Chapter 18.
- We are becoming the habitation of devils.
- When you have a pride month for fags and queers who are sick and nasty, you know you’ve lost it.
- God hates sodomites and He’s proven it over and over within the Bible.
- If you think you’re better than God and want to love the sodomites, then you’ve lost it. WAKE UP.
[71] Revelation 20:1-2 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
- There are angels in heaven right now who are far stronger than Satan. This proves it.
[72] Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
- That’s the end of the devil and all his devils, unclean spirits, and evil spirits.
- We will be shouting and cheering to see the most evil thing in existence leaving for good.
- THANK GOD. He will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Amen.
- That concludes our study throughout the entire Bible on devils.
- You should have learned many things today. We didn’t hit every verse, but we hit plenty of them.
- I hope you’ll take what you’ve learned today and start applying this as you continue to study the Bible.
Let’s pray.
