Some false preachers, like Kyle Idleman and pretty much every Church of Christ preacher, will say that you MUST be a follower of Jesus Christ the rest of your life in order to make it to heaven.
They will take verses out of context and say that YOU MUST be a follower of Jesus Christ.
“YOU MUST HAVE A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST.”
What a lie!!! Stop listening to these people. Jesus doesn’t say anything like that in the Bible.
I’ve heard those lies from Church of Christ preachers at recent funerals. They are false preachers who better wake up.
Would you like some examples of what they preach? Here are verses that they use to “PROVE” that you MUST follow Jesus Christ to be saved.
Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
Revelation 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
Revelation 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
Revelation 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Revelation 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
Revelation 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
Revelation 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
In other words, they like to use verses about “OVERCOMING” to “prove” their false view that you MUST follow Jesus all the rest of your life.
But really, it’s rather hilarious to me that the so-called Bible “experts” can’t just flip a few pages back to the Book of 1 John. That book tells you what it means to OVERCOME!!!
Open your eyes and see this today:
1 John 5:4-5 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
So, what OVERCOMES the world? I can 100% guarantee you that it’s not the WORK you put into a relationship with Jesus Christ. A relationship with Jesus takes a lot of work.
You need to read your Bible, study your Bible, go to a TRUE CHURCH, follow the commandments, repent of your sin when you don’t, ask forgiveness, be baptized, etc. It takes work!
Salvation is NOT OF WORKS. The entire Bible teaches against WORKS SALVATION.
What overcomes the world? “For whatsoever is BORN OF GOD overcometh the world.” When you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ ALONE to save you, then you’re born of God!!!
If you think it’s your works that are saving you, you have no chance at being saved.
“Who is he that overcometh the world, BUT he that BELIEVETH THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD.”
There is no other way to overcome BUT making Jesus YOUR savior. It’s not your good works. It’s not you being a “GOOD” person. We are not “GOOD” people.
Should we do our best to have fellowship with Jesus Christ? OH YES WE SHOULD!!! But we must understand that in order to have fellowship, we MUST first BELIEVE ON HIM. If you think salvation has to do with YOUR works, you aren’t TRUSTING in HIM. You aren’t believing ON HIM!!!
I hope this opens your eyes today.
If we all had to follow Jesus the rest of our life, NO ONE would make it.
You sin every day. Is it okay to sin? NO!!! But we do, and Jesus already knows that. Maybe these false preachers need to wake up and understand they sin every day too.
A bad thought is a sin. That’s not following Jesus. If you have a bad thought, you just lost your salvation according to the false Church of Christ and Kyle Idleman.
But don’t worry they say!!! You can get it back if you repent of your sin, come to Church, and give us your tithe. 10%. You better give it or you sinned and lost your salvation.
Hey false preachers, Jesus says YOU CAN NEVER lose it. Jesus says, “I” give unto them eternal life and they shall NEVER perish. False preacher, you don’t give eternal life.
False preacher, you don’t take away eternal life. It’s not up to you. You have NO POWER.
But guess who does have the power over life and death? JESUS CHRIST. Stop changing HIS WORDS into what you want them to be.
John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
John 10:26-30 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and my Father are one.
Are you going to believe what Jesus says or believe what false churches, false religions, and false preachers have taught you all your life?
Hey, I’ve been there. I was wrong. Wake up. GET ETERNAL LIFE today. Admit you were wrong and move on with eternal life that NEVER ENDS.
Once you have everlasting life, Jesus doesn’t take it away. If He did, He would be a liar. He says so!!!
1 John 5:10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
Simply PUT ALL YOUR TRUST on Jesus to save you. That’s it. “BELIEVE ON HIM.” Not on yourself. 100% on Jesus. Then you’re saved like the snap of a finger. It’s over. DONE. You are saved.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
You don’t pay for a gift. Why do you think the Bible calls it a GIFT? A gift doesn’t require you to do any work.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
Is Jesus lying when He says this?
John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
Do you really think you can do MORE to save yourself by FOLLOWING Jesus Christ? Do you really think YOU can help save yourself by your relationship?
That’s called not BELIEVING ON the sacrifice that Jesus made for you. He did all the work. You’re spitting in HIS FACE when you think YOU are doing something to GAIN eternal life.
He already did it for you! What’s your problem??? You don’t want to take the free gift. You want to be arrogant and work for it yourself?
Give it up. You won’t make it to heaven doing it YOUR WAY.
How do I know? Because the Bible says so.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
That’s pretty easy to understand for SAVED people.
Grace = you get something YOU don’t deserve. Hey, you don’t deserve it. Your work won’t gain it. Your personal relationship that YOU worked on won’t do it BUDDY!!!
You are saved THROUGH FAITH. Faith is putting ALL YOUR CONFIDENCE on Jesus Christ. 95% Jesus and 5% you IS NOT EQUAL to faith. Understand that. Faith = ALL JESUS.
NOT OF YOURSELVES in Ephesians 2:8. What does that mean? “NOT OF YOURSELVES!!!”
Why? Because it’s the gift of God. Jesus did ALL THE WORK for you to be saved. He died and went to hell on SABBATH DAYS. That’s a picture of God working while you’re resting. Do you get it now?
STOP working for your salvation. It won’t work. God will reject you just like HE REJECTED CAIN’S OFFERING.
Verse 9 of Ephesians Chapter 2 says: “NOT OF WORKS, LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST.”
That’s pretty clear. NOT OF WORKS. Why? Because people would be boasting about how great they are. That sounds like so-called “Christians” today.
If you haven’t put all your trust and confidence on Jesus and NOTHING else, then you aren’t saved. You’re headed to hell.
It’s time to change that. You might say: “Well, you’re not very Christian like about this. You’re not very nice.”
That’s right. I’m not a fake Christian. When something needs to be said, I say it. I’m trying to get you to wake up. Stop believing in this false “Christian” religion.
You must be BORN AGAIN to be a true CHRISTIAN. You aren’t “BORN AGAIN” if you’re constantly working for your salvation, losing it, EARNING it back, losing it, earning it. Blah, blah, blah.
I’ve been there. Done that. It doesn’t work. Wake up. Stop preaching falsely. Get a new church that speaks the truth.
If they can’t get the Gospel right, they aren’t a church. If you aren’t born again (one time decision and one moment), then you aren’t a Christian. Stop blaspheming the name of God with your works based salvation.
Now, once you’re saved, you have the foundation of JESUS CHRIST. Now, you can build upon that foundation with good works.
But you also understand that those works aren’t saving you in any way BECAUSE Jesus Christ is your foundation.
1 Corinthians 3:11-15 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. 14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
You aren’t the foundation. Your works aren’t the foundation.
You can’t build on the foundation if Jesus isn’t your foundation. You and your works will sink straight down to hell without Jesus holding you up. I’m trying my best to get you to see the truth today.
The words of the Bible are POWER. See them. Read them. Hear them. Understand them today.
“If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss.” This means he loses rewards IN HEAVEN. “But he himself SHALL BE SAVED.”
A saved person can make the decision to not follow Jesus. It’s going to lead to a horrible life here on this Earth because God will punish those people. He says so.
Or, a saved person can make the decision to follow Jesus. An example? Jesus commands us to preach the Gospel. You can’t preach it unless you know it. It takes work to preach the Gospel.
What I just wrote, takes work. Preaching the Gospel and helping get someone saved leads to eternal rewards in heaven. That’s a good work. Good works have ETERNAL SIGNIFICANCE.
Why are you false churches not going out and preaching the TRUE GOSPEL? Jesus commanded it. You’re ignoring it. That’s a sin. You’re not following Jesus. Oops, you just lost your salvation according to your very own doctrine.
That’s just one example. You sin every day. I sin every day. I’m not a good person. I understand that. There’s NONE GOOD but God. Good = perfect. Righteous = doing right all the time.
Wake up today. You’re not good. I’m definitely not good. Just change your mind and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. AND YOU’RE SAVED (past tense). You NOW have the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD living within you.
Now, you will be able to hear, see, and understand the word of God.
John 8:47 He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
Listen, if you get mad today, that’s fine. I got mad and woke up. Yes, I am attacking false religions because I don’t want to see you in hell.
I don’t want you looking up from hell with torment in your eyes and asking me: “Josh, why didn’t you tell me!!! You could have told me.” Well, listen, now you know. And I hope with everything that I have today that you change your mind and put YOUR TRUST on Jesus Christ.
Please, call upon Jesus right now and be saved. Don’t allow false preachers to send you to hell.
