I had a very nice woman named Lisa email me with this example of corruption from the modern Bible “versions.”
We thank Lisa greatly for sending this example. Let’s look at the King James Bible first:
Ephesians 6:10-13 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. – KING JAMES BIBLE
We’re going to focus on verse 12.
Notice that the King James Bible says, at the end of verse 12, “against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
What are “high places” that are mentioned in that verse? If you study the King James Bible for the phrase “high places,” you’ll be able to understand what this Scripture means. Let’s look at the first time the phrase “high places” is used in the King James Bible.
Leviticus 26:30-31 And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you. 31 And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet odours.
Let’s look at a few more. In total, there are 98 matches in 90 different verses throughout the Bible. The only use of the phrase “high places” within the New Testament is in Ephesians 6:12!
Numbers 21:27-29 Wherefore they that speak in proverbs say, Come into Heshbon, let the city of Sihon be built and prepared: 28 For there is a fire gone out of Heshbon, a flame from the city of Sihon: it hath consumed Ar of Moab, and the lords of the high places of Arnon. 29 Woe to thee, Moab! thou art undone, O people of Chemosh: he hath given his sons that escaped, and his daughters, into captivity unto Sihon king of the Amorites.
Deuteronomy 33:29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.
1 Kings 14:23 For they also built them high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree.
2 Chronicles 11:15 And he ordained him priests for the high places, and for the devils, and for the calves which he had made.
Psalm 78:58 For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their graven images.
Amos 4:13 For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.
Micah 1:3-5 For, behold, the LORD cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth. 4 And the mountains shall be molten under him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, and as the waters that are poured down a steep place. 5 For the transgression of Jacob is all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the transgression of Jacob? is it not Samaria? and what are the high places of Judah? are they not Jerusalem?
Now, from just those few verses you should be able to understand what the King James Bible is saying. This is the actual word of God in English.
Let’s look at Ephesians 6:12 again in the King James Bible:
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
This verse is clearly talking about spiritual wickedness in high places of the earth. For example, the current city of Jerusalem is a high place and is spiritually wicked. Jerusalem, in general, worships a false god because they hate Jesus Christ.
The religion of Judaism is a false religion. They hate Jesus Christ.
1 John 2:22-23 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
Obviously, heaven, where God lives, is not spiritually wicked. The heavenly Jerusalem is the actual HOLY CITY. The high place of the earth, the current city of Jerusalem, is spiritually wicked (as one example).
Revelation 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
We have a fight against the spiritual wickedness in high places. This is what the King James Bible teaches. We aren’t fighting against the spiritual forces in heaven! God lives in heaven and He is in complete control. He is perfectly righteous and holy in every way possible. He rules heaven.
Spiritually wicked people are ruling the high places in this earth and its very obvious. Jerusalem is a very wicked place. The heavenly Jerusalem is a very holy place.
Hebrews 12:22-24 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, 23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
Now, with all that said, let’s take a look at the corrupted and evil NIV. Please NEVER use an NIV Bible. The NIV is a corrupted and evil “Bible” version.
See this:
Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. – NIV (False Bible Version)
The NIV actually says, “against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
God owns the heavens.
The NASB says this:
Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Do you see what the corrupted versions do? They don’t make any sense, and they are blasphemous. The King James Bible is much easier to understand because you can easily study the phrases in the Bible to learn more.
For example, we just did a quick study on the phrase “high places” and the Bible explained everything for us. The King James Bible is very easy to understand compared to the corrupted versions. Actually, it’s not even close. The King James Bible is infinite times better because it is the word of God.
I hope this great example from Lisa has helped you to see the truth about the corrupted “Bible versions” such as the NIV and NASB. Stick to the King James Bible.
