[2] The title of the sermon today is “GENESIS CHAPTER 8.”

The Water From The Flood Didn’t Decrease For 5 Months

  • We see Noah preparing for the flood in Genesis Chapter 6.
  • In Genesis Chapter 7, we saw the flood and the timing of everything that happened.
  • At the end of Chapter 7, we see this:

[3] Genesis 7:24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.

  • This means that the waters didn’t decrease on the earth for 150 days or 5 months.
  • We know that the flood started on the 17th day of the second month.

[4] Genesis 7:11-12 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. 12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

  • So, on 2/17/600 of Noah’s life, the rain and waters started flowing.
  • It rained upon the earth for 40 days and 40 nights. On 3/27/600 of Noah’s life, the rain stopped.
  • But the waters didn’t decrease until 150 days or 5 months after the rain began.
  • This would put us at 7/17/600 of Noah’s life. The earth is still covered in water.
  • So, at the end of Genesis Chapter 7, the earth is still covered in water at the end of 150 days.

[5] Genesis 8:1-3 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged; 2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained; 3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.

  • So, finally, at the end of 150 days, the water is finally stopped. It’s not just the rain that ceased.
  • But it’s also the fountains of the deep. Remember that water comes from under the ground too.
  • When it says, “the waters asswaged” it means that they calmed down and rested.
  • At the end of the 150 days, the waters were abated or were decreased through God’s work.
  • He made a wind to pass over the earth to calm the waters and to decrease the waters.

Let’s take a closer look at verse 1. “And God remembered Noah, and every living thing” that was with Noah.

  • So, did God create the flood and then forget that Noah was and the living creatures were on the ark?
  • “Oh, whoops, I forgot about Noah. I should have set the timer on Alexa or the alarm on my iPhone.”
  • God doesn’t forget in that manner of forgetting. But He can forget you or remember you.
  • In the Bible, God remembers HIS PEOPLE. Who do you think HIS PEOPLE are?
  • He remembers HIS people who have FAITH in HIM.

[6] Genesis 19:29 And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.

[7] Genesis 30:22 And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.

  • God remembered Abraham and saved Lot. God remembered Rachel and hearkened unto her prayers.
  • Pray to God often, and He will remember you and your prayers.

[8] Exodus 2:24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

  • The children of Israel were in great bondage in Egypt. They cried to God, and their cry came to Him.
  • And God heard them and remembered HIS COVENANT. He brought them out of bondage.
  • When God remembers in the Bible, it’s the time at which God takes action. He remembers and acts.
  • So, God remembers HIS PROMISES and He acts on them.
  • He promised us salvation by HIS GRACE through faith. He promises to save us when we call upon Him.

“God, Please Remember Me.”

[9] Psalm 106:4-5 Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation; 5 That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.

  • All you have to say to be saved is: “God, please remember me and save me.” He’ll do it.
  • And then God remembers the evil people who HATE HIM and reject Him their entire life.
  • So, if you want to reject God even though He shows HIMSELF to you, then He will “remember” that.

[10] Revelation 18:5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

  • That’s talking about BABYLON THE GREAT in Revelation Chapter 18.
  • “God hath REMEMBERED her iniquities.” So God will remember your evil ways and evil works.
  • And if He remembers those evil people who have no faith, guess what He says He will do to those people?
  • He says, I’ll remember you and THEN I’ll forget you. I will remember you no more. I will love you no more.
  • If you forget about God, He can forget about you. Don’t forget about God in your life.

[11] Jeremiah 23:38-40 But since ye say, The burden of the LORD; therefore thus saith the LORD; Because ye say this word, The burden of the LORD, and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of the LORD; 39 Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence: 40 And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.

  • God gets angry if you forget about Him. What’s an example of that?
  • Thinking that other things in your life are above God. Putting other false gods above Him.
  • He got angry at JUDAH. Watch what Jeremiah says in the Book of Lamentations.

[12] Lamentations 5:20-22 Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time? 21 Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old. 22 But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us.

  • In your life, each day, each hour, each minute, each second, DON’T FORGET GOD.
  • You need to accept GOD AS YOUR SAVIOR RIGHT NOW, and He promises you eternal life.
  • If you won’t accept God, and you forget about God in your life, here’s what happens.

[13] Psalm 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

  • If you’re saved, the HOLY SPIRIT is with you. He knows if you’re forgetting God each day.
  • He’s right there with you. Go, in prayer, to God each and every day.
  • Remember HIM, and HE WILL REMEMBER you. There’s many examples in the Bible of this.
  • So God didn’t forget about Noah. GOD REMEMBERED NOAH and all the living creatures in the ark.

Keep in mind that GOD remembered the living creatures in Genesis 8:1. They are important to Him too.

  • I want to get that straight today. The animals aren’t nothing to God. They serve a purpose just as we do.
  • They are important to God. If they’re important to God, they better be important to us to.
  • We shouldn’t treat them like trash. We should treat them like animals, but not like humans.
  • God gave MAN, male and female, dominion over all the animals and living creatures.

God Gave Us Dominion Over All The Animals

And I’m glad He did. When you’ve had 2,000 pound cows running right at you when you’re 8 years old and 70 lbs:

  • I’m glad those cattle understood that I had dominion over them. I still remember those thoughts.
  • “These cows are going to run me over and smash me. 70 pound boy versus 2,000 pound cows.”
  • But they always turned away at the last second because God put fear of MAN into them.
  • See this next Scripture. God is responding to Job. God is letting Job have it. Watch what GOD SAYS to Job.

[14] Job 39:19-20 Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder? 20 Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? the glory of his nostrils is terrible.

  • God says, “Job, did you give the horse its strength. Can you make the horse afraid like a grasshopper?”
  • You have these HUGE and powerful animals that still submit to man. God put that within the animals.
  • God controls the animals as He wants. He sent ravens to feed Elijah. He sent frogs to Egypt.
  • He stopped the lions’ mouths for Daniel. He sent flies to Egypt. A whale to swallow Jonah.
  • God sent bears to tare the 42 children into pieces. A fish brings Peter money.

But always remember that HUMANS are far more important to God than animals. That’s very clear.

  • And, if HUMANS are far more important to God than animals, we MUST follow God’s lead.
  • There are NEVER any examples of ANIMALS being more important than HUMANS to God.
  • NEVER give an animal life more value than a human life. God doesn’t.
  • Jesus Christ HIMSELF saved one man by sending the devils into a great herd of swine.

[15] Mark 5:9-13 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. 10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country. 11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding. 12 And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. 13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

  • The life of 2,000 swine for one human life. Animals are directed to be sacrificed in the Bible.
  • God commands us to eat the animals for food. Animals fulfill their purpose when we do what God asks.
  • A human life is far more important than any animal life. We need to act the same way.

Your Family Pet Is NOT More Important Than ANY Child

For example, a family pet is not more important than any child.

  • If you have to make a choice to feed your children good food versus feeding your dog good food:
  • What are you going to choose? This is a simple answer, but not in today’s world.

In Romans Chapter 1, the Bible talks about REPROBATES or REJECTS that God gave over to uncleanness.

  • It talks about homosexuals being rejected by God. It talks about these evil people and what they do.

[16] Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

  • NEVER worship the CREATURE more than the CREATOR. That’s what our world is teaching now.
  • WORSHIP YOUR DOG more than GOD HIMSELF. “My dog is the most important thing to me.”
  • “Josh, why is your dog outside? Josh, why are your cats outside?”
  • Do you want to know why? BECAUSE GOD MADE THEM TO BE OUTSIDE.
  • That means my dog and cats will be healthier and happier because they’re outside.

[17] Genesis 8:4-5 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. 5 And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.

  • So, on 7/17/600 of Noah’s life, the bottom of the ark rests on the mountains of Ararat.
  • Then, the waters decreased continually until 10/1/600. Now, the tops of the mountains could be seen.
  • Here’s what Mount Ararat looks like today:

[18]

  • And this may or may not be the mountain that the ark rested on.
  • It’s located in far east TURKEY and has a large volcano and a smaller volcano.
  • It is the highest peak in all of Turkey. It’s about 16,854 feet in height.
  • So, that’s a lot of water. Noah’s ark rested on the mountains of Ararat.
  • And then about 2.5 months later, the tops of the mountains are seen. So, the water gradually decreases.

[19] Genesis 8:6 And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made:

  • So now we add 40 days to 10/1/600 and we get 11/10/600 of Noah’s life.
  • At that time, Noah opens the window of the ark.

[20] Genesis 8:7 And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.

  • A raven is a meat eating bird. It went back and forth until the waters were dried up from the earth.
  • And notice what it says there exactly: “TO AND FRO.” That reminds me of the devil going to and fro.

[21] Job 1:7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

[22] 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

  • This raven is like a picture of the devil going to and from seeking whom he may devour.
  • The raven is looking for flesh to eat. The raven is looking for something to devour.
  • Satan is the same way. The religious people, the Pharisees and scribes, are the same way.

[23] Matthew 23:14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

  • So, you have these evil and wicked people looking to DEVOUR others.
  • The ark represents God and salvation. It’s the safe place. The raven doesn’t return.

[24] Genesis 8:8-9 Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground; 9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.

  • The dove is the opposite of the raven. One represents light and the other darkness.
  • The dove doesn’t go to and fro looking to devour. The dove returned into the ark, to God, to salvation.
  • We all start out the same way. We start out as God’s, as little babies. Then we take off on our own.
  • Do we return to Him or not? Are we going to be like the raven or like the dove?

[25] Luke 3:22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

  • The Holy Spirit descends upon Jesus like a dove. A dove is pure and gentle. A raven is not.
  • It’s an unclean bird that cannot be eaten according to the Bible. A dove is a clean bird.
  • A dove represents God’s saved people that return to HIM for salvation.

[26] John 2:14-16 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: 15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables; 16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise.

  • Notice in verse 26 where it says, “And said unto them that sold doves.” Jesus says this to those people.
  • They are selling DOVES in HIS FATHER’S HOUSE. Don’t make my DOVES into merchandise.
  • That’s what all types of churches and preachers are doing today. And God warns many times about this.
  • He says for bishops to not be greedy of filthy lucre. Deacons likewise.
  • The Bible says those deceivers MUST be stopped. Their mouths must be STOPPED.

“Whose Mouths Must Be Stopped”

[27] Titus 1:10-11 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: 11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.

  • Those people were making merchandise out of the DOVES and out of God’s people.

[28] 2 Peter 2:1-3 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

  • What are preachers supposed to be doing instead of making merchandise out of believers?

[29] 1 Peter 5:2-3 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; 3 Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.

  • Be careful with these preachers who constantly want your money.
  • Who constantly want you to do something for them for free when it usually costs money.
  • The church is supposed to be helping others and not TAKING from them constantly.
  • The preachers are supposed to be examples of not being greedy. Is that what we see today?
  • No, and the Bible warns that they are most likely false preachers using you to gain filthy lucre.

[30] Genesis 8:10-11 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark; 11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.

  • We see Noah stay there in the ark for another 7 days as the dove hadn’t found any safe place.
  • That puts us at about 11/17/600 on our timeline. Remember, the flood started on 2/17/600 of Noah’s life.
  • So, about 9 months after the first drop of water, the dove returned with an olive leaf.
  • The olive leaf represents peace and victory. The GOSPEL that saves people is the GOSPEL OF PEACE.
  • This dove brings back good news to Noah in the ark. Noah had been on this ark in water for 9 months.
  • Do you think that olive leaf was good news for him? Peace and safety and GOOD NEWS!!!

[31] Romans 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

  • That dove brought peace and GLAD TIDINGS of GOOD THINGS.
  • That’s what we need to be doing for others. If you love others, you’ll bring them the Gospel of peace.
  • Remember, GOD is a GOD OF WAR, but He doesn’t want that for you. He wants you to have peace.
  • So the waters have calmed, they’ve decreased, God’s wrath was satisfied. The waters were off the earth.

[32] Genesis 8:12 And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more.

  • Noah waits seven more days. The dove now has a home, and it’s not on the ark any more.
  • This is like parents with their children. Bring them up in the word of God every day.

[33] Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

  • That’s not a lie. TRAIN YOUR CHILD with the word of God, and HE WILL NOT DEPART FROM IT.

[34] Deuteronomy 6:7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

  • That’s a command. That’s not optional. THOU SHALT THEM DILIGENTLY UNTO THY CHILDREN.
  • Bring salvation to your children. Make sure they know God. Make sure they are saved.
  • Then, when they get married, it’s time to depart just like that dove from Noah’s ark.
  • “Which returned not again unto him any more.” Your children aren’t yours to command any more.
  • They aren’t yours to hold onto any more and try to control. You have to let them go be with their spouse.

[35] Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

  • Yeah, it’s a sad thing as a Dad and a Mom BUT it is the absolute best thing for your children.
  • We follow God’s way, and we know it’s the best way. It’s time to let go.
  • They are now ONE with someone else, and you MUST understand God’s design. It’s good.
  • They aren’t disappearing forever. It’s the exact opposite of that.

You MUST Bring Your Children Up In The Lord

This is why it’s important to bring your children up in the Lord.

  • The only thing IN EXISTENCE that will always keep your family together is THE LORD.
  • It’s not a sad thing when your children leave for their husband or wife IF they know the Lord.
  • Why is that? Because you’ll be together for eternity in God’s family. They’re never going away!
  • And whose taking care of them now? GOD ALMIGHTY IS. There is none better to watch out for them.
  • Would you want anyone else taking care of your children other than GOD ALMIGHTY?

[36] Jeremiah 32:40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.

  • If you AND your children are with God, you’ll never be separated for all of eternity.
  • Now, that is GOOD NEWS. That’s why it’s so important to teach your children from a very young age.
  • God’s desire is for all people to be saved. If parents teach their children, why are people going to hell?
  • We have to change this now. It’s time to get back to God and the old paths.
  • I’ve had enough of the new and modern way. It’s trash my friends. Let’s get back to God.

[37] Jeremiah 6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

  • “The old paths, where is the good way.” I’m taking that path. That path is through Jesus Christ.
  • I’m not going to teach my children the other way: “WE WILL NOT WALK THEREIN.”
  • Oh no, we’re not going that way. “As for me and my house, WE WILL serve the Lord.”
  • That’s what all leaders of every family today must stand up now and say. CHOOSE TODAY.
  • Who are you going to follow TODAY? The choice is right now. Don’t you want to find rest?
  • The waters calmed and decreased. The dove found a resting place.

[38] Genesis 8:13-14 And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry. 14 And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried.

  • The dove left the ark and never came back around 11/24/600 of Noah’s life.
  • But now we see that Noah still hadn’t left the ark by 1/1/601 of Noah’s life.
  • On that day, which would be Noah’s birthday, he removed the covering of the ark.

No more water on the earth. He looked out and the face of the ground was dry.

  • But that was just the face of the ground. Think of how much water was on the earth.
  • Think how muddy it was. Noah was being guided by God.
  • Noah waits longer. We’re now at 2/27/601 of Noah’s life and the earth was finally dried.
  • The flood started on 2/17/600 of Noah’s life so it’s now been over a year on the ark.

[39] Genesis 8:15-16 And God spake unto Noah, saying, 16 Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons’ wives with thee.

  • Finally!!! Noah and his family can get off of that ark.
  • Think how great a day that was for them. I’ve only been on a ship at most about 2 weeks.
  • I was EXTREMELY HAPPY to get off that ship. WOW. Fresh air. Feet on the dry ground.

[40] Genesis 8:17 Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.

  • God tells Noah to bring those animals with him too. Get them off that ark.
  • Why? So they can breed abundantly in the earth. BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY.
  • Same thing for Noah’s sons and their wives. MULTIPLY.
  • What if they all chose to not have children? You wouldn’t be here.
  • I’m happy today that my parents chose to have me. I’m glad your parents chose to have you.
  • Let’s do what God says. Let’s stop allowing the world to put fear into us about having more children.

[41] Psalm 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

  • Children are amazing, and I would NEVER go back in time and not have children.
  • I love my children, and I thank God for those beautiful girls of mine every day.
  • And I thank Him for allowing me to be with them every day. They are a blessing and a reward!

[42] Genesis 8:18-19 And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him: 19 Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.

  • Imagine that sight. EVERYONE and EVERYTHING coming out of that ark.
  • Have you ever seen cattle being let out into the open field after being locked up for a while?
  • What a great sight that would have been to see!
  • I’m sure the animals took off running and jumping with joy. The HUMANS too.

When God lets me out in heaven one day, I’m going to be running and jumping with JOY.

  • FINALLY, I’m home! Praise God. I’m going to run and jump with joy and my knees won’t hurt.
  • I’ll bet you my vertical jump at least doubles from 1 inch to 2 inches. AT LEAST!

The Extra Clean Beasts Were For Burnt Offerings

[43] Genesis 8:20 And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

  • We learned in Genesis Chapter 7 that Noah was to bring more clean beasts on the ark.

[44] Genesis 7:2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.

  • The extra CLEAN BEASTS were so Noah could offer burnt offerings to the Lord once he was off the ark.
  • And that’s what we see happening in Genesis Chapter 8 verse 20.

[45] Genesis 8:21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

  • God smells a sweet savour from these animal sacrifices on the altar that Noah built.

[46] 2 Corinthians 2:15-16 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: 16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

  • Trying to keep the law and do all these good works your entire life to gain heaven BRINGS DEATH.
  • We are dead by the law because we can’t keep the law. But by God’s grace through faith?
  • We are a SWEET SAVOUR OF LIFE UNTO LIFE. For we are unto God a sweet savour of CHRIST.
  • We’re only saved through JESUS CHRIST ALONE.

[47] Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

  • Jesus Christ became that sacrifice for a sweetsmelling savour to GOD.
  • The animal sacrifices were BURNT OFFERINGS to God. They were a sweet smelling savour.
  • Jesus is a BURNT OFFERING TO GOD. False preachers continue to say that Jesus didn’t go to hell.
  • He was a burnt offering and a sweet savour unto God. Jesus is a BURNT OFFERING.

[48] Acts 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

  • HIS SOUL was the burnt offering. The soul of Jesus Christ went to Hell where fire is burning.
  • But His soul was not left there to burn. He’s the only one to ever come back from hell.
  • His body did not see corruption. Why? His body arose on the 3rd day.

[49] John 11:39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.

  • The body of Jesus did not see corruption because He arose from the dead on the THIRD DAY.
  • Jesus is that sacrifice for all sins of all time. He is the SAVIOUR. And that’s why He is the sweet savour.

[50] Genesis 8:21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

  • Because Noah is showing God he understands the LAMB OF GOD being the SAVIOR:
  • God says in His heart, “I won’t curse the ground any more for man’s sake.”
  • Before the flood, the ground was cursed and difficult to grow food. But not after the flood.
  • God says the imagination of man’s heart is EVIL from his youth. Is that not the truth?

We Are Full Of Trouble From Our Youth

[51] Job 14:1 Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.

[52] Psalm 58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

  • As soon as a child can speak, they will speak lies. Did you do that, son? Did you do that, daughter?
  • “No, Dad, that wasn’t me.” But I watched you do it. “Well, I didn’t do it.”
  • But God has mercy on us and gives us all chances to turn back to Him. He’s patient with us.
  • God is happy with Noah’s offering and says that He’ll NEVER smite any more EVERY LIVING THING.
  • NEVER AGAIN. So, He won’t EVER, even in the end of the world, take out every LIVING thing.
  • So, the science fiction movies in which everyone dies in the end of the world, are false.
  • That’s not in the Bible. That’s not in the Book of Revelation. NEVER AGAIN GOD SAYS.

[53] Genesis 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

  • While the earth remaineth. Do you see that? None of those things will cease to exist.
  • DAY AND NIGHT will continue as long as the earth remaineth. Does the earth ever go away?

[54] Ecclesiastes 1:4 One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.

  • I think that’s pretty clear right there. “BUT THE EARTH ABIDETH FOREVER.”
  • Some false preachers will say: “Well, that’s from a man’s perspective.” No, the Holy Spirit wrote that.
  • The HOLY SPIRIT is God and knows all things. So what He write is correct.

[55] 2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

  • The heavens and the earth shall pass away. The works within the earth shall be burned up.
  • That doesn’t mean they’re going away. It means the heavens and the earth will be made new!!!

The Heavens And Earth Will Be Made New

[56] Isaiah 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

[57] 2 Peter 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

  • You’ll see all of this as we study the Book of Revelation together.
  • God sends fire upon earth, the earth is burned up in God’s wrath.
  • God is fulfilling His will, and the heavens and the earth will become new.
  • But this earth that hangs in space on nothing is not going away. It’s going to be made NEW.

[58] Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

  • In the end, the sea that we have here on earth will no longer exist.
  • Let’s read the last verse in Genesis Chapter 8 one more time as we close today.

[59] Genesis 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

  • The earth isn’t going away. It will be made new. And you’ll be there to see the new earth one day.
  • But only if you’re saved. And you can be saved right now by simply trusting Jesus to save you.
  • And then you’re assured that you will see that NEW EARTH one day.
  • And you’ll come out of that ARK running and jumping onto that new earth.
  • You’ll be saying, “WOW, COME ON DAD, COME ON MOM, COME ON BROTHER, COME ON SISTER.”
  • COME ON FRIEND!!! “Let’s go see what God has in store for us on this NEW EARTH.”

[60] 1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

  • You have no idea, God says, what I have in store for you.
  • We have all of eternity to spend with God, and there is nothing better than that.

Let’s pray.
