[2] The title of the sermon today is “GENESIS CHAPTER 14.”

Quick Recap Of Genesis Chapter 13

• Before we start our verse by verse Bible study in Genesis Chapter 14, let’s do a quick recap of Genesis Chapter 13.
• We saw Abram come up out of Egypt with his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, and all that he had.
• We learned that Abram was now very rich in cattle, silver, and in gold.
• Abram goes back to Bethel when he comes up out of Egypt.

We see that Lot also has many flocks, herds, and tents with him. The land couldn’t bear both of them.

• We see Abram allow Lot the choice of the land. Lot chooses the best land for himself.
• Lot chooses all the plain of the Jordan River, and he goes East. They separate at this time.
• Abram dwells in the land of Canaan. We see that Lot pitches his tent towards Sodom.
• He’s not in Sodom but his tent is facing that direction.

[3] Genesis 13:13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.

• Lot should easily be able to see this and stay away from Sodom. Does he, though?
• We’ll find out in this Genesis Chapter 14 Bible study today.
• After Abram separates from Lot, God tells him to look all around him.

[4] Genesis 13:15-16 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. 16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.

• We know that the seed God is speaking of here is the spiritual seed of Abram.
• This will be all of those who believe in God and trust God. And we know there’s a lot of those people.
• “And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth.” And no man can number the dust of the earth.
• At the very end of Genesis Chapter 13, we see this:

[5] Genesis 13:18 Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD.

• We see Abram move to Hebron and dwell there. He builds an altar to the Lord there.
• If you study Hebron in the Bible, you’ll find it 68 times. The verse you see there is the first time it’s used.
• Some things we learn about Hebron when studying this place is that Sarah dies there.
• She is buried there. Isaac dies there. Joshua gives Caleb the land of Hebron as an inheritance.
• We learn that the tribe of Judah possesses Hebron. We see David is anointed king of Judah in Hebron.

We see that David’s sons Amnon and Absalom are born in Hebron. Solomon is born in Jerusalem.

• We see Abner is killed by Joab in Hebron and is buried there in Hebron.
• King David reigned over Judah in Hebron for seven years and six months.
• He reigned in Jerusalem for thirty three years.
• While King David is reigning in Jerusalem, Absalom goes to Hebron and announces he is reigning there.
• So, keep in mind, as we end the Genesis Chapter 13 summary that Abram is in Hebron.

[6] Genesis 14:1-2 And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations; 2 That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar.

• We see 4 kings listed first going up against 5 kings listed second.
• On the first side, we see: 1) Amraphel king of Shinar, 2) Arioch king of Ellasar, 3) Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and 4) Tidal king of nations.
• These 4 kings make war with the 5 kings listed next.
• On the other side, we see: 1) Bera king of Sodom, 2) Birsha king of Gomorrah, 3) Shinab king of Admah, 4) Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and 5) Zoar king of Bela.
• Here’s a chart showing the war we have here in Genesis Chapter 14:

• Again, we have 4 kings on one side and 5 kings on the other.
• We know that Abram is living in Hebron and Lot has pitched his tent towards Sodom.
• When we look closer at the kings on the first side, the only names or places mentioned elsewhere in the Bible are Shinar and Elam.

Which Side Is The “Good” Side OR Is There A “Good” Side?

We know Shinar is Babylon and this is where Abram came from originally.

• We see Elam is the place of the third king. And we know that Elam is a son of Shem.
• So, possibly, people living in Elam were mostly descendants of Shem. But this is just a guess.
• On the second side, we take a closer look. We know Sodom and Gomorrah very well from the Bible.
• We know that they were evil and wicked. We know from the Bible that Admah and Zeboim are also evil.

[8] Deuteronomy 29:22 So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the LORD hath laid upon it;

[9] Deuteronomy 29:23 And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:

• We clearly see here that the Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim were evil and wicked.
• This Scripture lists out the places of 4 of the 5 kings on the second side.
• So, you might be wondering: “Who was the better side? Whose side would you choose?”
• Does the Bible say that one side was the good side and one side was the bad side?
• The Bible doesn’t say this. We’ll also see that Abram doesn’t choose a side to fight for either.

This means that we don’t always have to choose a side. If both sides are wicked, then we don’t choose either.

• If we’re given an evil Republican on one side and an evil and wicked Democrat on the other side, who do we choose?
• If there’s fighting between two nations both with false religions, whose side do we choose?
• We don’t have to choose to support either side. Let them fight their own battles.
• For example, the man-made nations of Israel has their false religion of Judaism.
• The Palestinians have their false religion of Islam. I CHOOSE NEITHER SIDE. Both consist of false religions.

If Southeast Christian Church in Louisville was fighting a war against Lakewood Church in Houston, who would you side with?

• I wouldn’t side with either one of them with their false gospel. Joel Osteen is worse than Kyle Idleman.
• But would I help Kyle Idleman? NO WAY. They both teach false doctrine. Both are sending people to hell.
• If Creflo Dollar waged war on Benny Hinn, which side would I choose?
• Of course I would choose Benny Hinn because of his jacket. There’s no way we would lose.

• Of course you all know that I’m just kidding. I definitely wouldn’t side with Benny Hinn. I hate Benny Hinn.
• He uses the name of God for his personal gain. He’s a con artist. He’s a fake.
• But understand this today, you don’t have to choose sides when both sides are evil.
• Abram didn’t choose sides.

Also make sure you understand that the ungodly will always fight between themselves.

• They are like worldly teenage girls. There’s a group of them that call themselves friends.
• One day 2 of them hate each other.
• The next day those same 2 love each other and hate one of the others.
• The next day is different. They all hate each other. This one did something wrong to this one.
• That one did something wrong to the other. It’s drama all the time.
• Well, that’s just like in this world today. One day we’re friends with Iran. The next day we hate them.
• One day we’re friends with Syria. The next day we hate them. It’s like a bunch of teenage girls.
• They will never stop fighting until God destroys them all in the end.

[11] Psalm 120:7 I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.

• I am for all people following the word of God. This brings peace between all men and peace with God.
• When we follow God’s commandments, they are for war. They hate us.
• When we say that homosexuality is an exceedingly great sin that God hates, they are for war.
• When we say that we trust in God and will not be vaccinated, they blame us for the entire Covid-19 pandemic.
• Hey, listen, I had nothing to do with it. NOTHING. Zero. Zilch. Nada. None. You can’t blame me.
• But they try. Hey, “I AM FOR PEACE: BUT WHEN I SPEAK, THEY ARE FOR WAR.
• Abram wasn’t in this war in Genesis Chapter 14 and wasn’t fighting for either side.

[12] Genesis 14:3 All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is the salt sea.

• The vale of Siddim is the VALLEY OF SIDDIM. Vale equals valley.
• The valley of Siddim is the salt sea or the Dead Sea. Maps show this as directly south of the Dead Sea.

• You’ll see Bethel and Ai on this map. You’ll see Hebron. To the east of Hebron, you see the Dead Sea.
• This is the salt sea. You’ll see two locations for Sodom. The one in the south is the more correct location.
• I don’t know if this map is perfect, but I believe it’s close based on the Scriptures available.
• We know that these kings are joined together in the vale of Siddim.

The Five Kings Finally Decide To Rebel Against Chedorlaomer

[14] Genesis 14:4 Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.

• Chedorlaomer is the king of Elam on the first side with the 4 kings.
• These 5 kings served the king of Elam for 12 years. In the thirteenth year they rebelled.
• Remember that the city of Elam was most likely descendants of Shem.
• These others were most likely descendants of Ham. They were Canaanites.
• If you remember Genesis Chapter 9, this may be a fulfillment of that prophecy.

[15] Genesis 9:25-26 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren. 26 And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

• The people of Canaan were serving the people of Shem. But then they rebelled in the 13^th year.

[16] Genesis 14:5-6 And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emims in Shaveh Kiriathaim, 6 And the Horites in their mount Seir, unto El-paran, which is by the wilderness.

• They rebel in the 13^th year so king Chedorlaomer and the other kings that were with him go and smite specific groups of people.
• We see the Zuzims in HAM. We see the Horites in Mount Seir.
• Mount Seir is given to Esau and Edom in the future. But this gives us the location of these battles.
• These kings smote the people all the way unto El-paran which is by the wilderness.

[17] Genesis 14:7 And they returned, and came to En-mishpat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hazezon-tamar.

• These were more people that lived in the South and West of the Dead Sea or the salt sea.
• The Bible helps us to understand where Kadesh is located. The Amalekites were in this area.

[18] Genesis 20:1 And Abraham journeyed from thence toward the south country, and dwelled between Kadesh and Shur, and sojourned in Gerar.

• So we know Kadesh is in the south country.

[19] Numbers 13:26 And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land.

• Kadesh is in the wilderness of Paran.

[20] Numbers 20:1 Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there.

• We see that Miriam, the sister of Moses and Aaron, died in Kadesh. She was buried there in Kadesh.
• Here’s a map showing where the wilderness of Paran is located and Kadesh.

• Notice Kadesh-Barnea there. The wilderness of Paran is in the south there.
• The wilderness of Zin is just west of Edom. The Amalekites are seen in the west.
• Remember, in Genesis Chapter 14, these kings are conquering people in these locations.
• What else happened in Kadesh within the Bible?

[22] Numbers 27:14 For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the water before their eyes: that is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.

• We see that the water of Meribah was in Kadesh.

Kadesh Is In The Wilderness In The South Country

[23] Judges 11:16-17 But when Israel came up from Egypt, and walked through the wilderness unto the Red sea, and came to Kadesh; 17 Then Israel sent messengers unto the king of Edom, saying, Let me, I pray thee, pass through thy land: but the king of Edom would not hearken thereto. And in like manner they sent unto the king of Moab: but he would not consent: and Israel abode in Kadesh.

• So, when you see Kadesh now within the Bible, you will know it’s in the wilderness in the south country.

[24] Psalm 29:8 The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.

• Israel lived in the wilderness for a long time. The VOICE OF THE LORD shakes the wilderness.

[25] Ezekiel 47:19 And the south side southward, from Tamar even to the waters of strife in Kadesh, the river to the great sea. And this is the south side southward.

[26] Ezekiel 48:28 And by the border of Gad, at the south side southward, the border shall be even from Tamar unto the waters of strife in Kadesh, and to the river toward the great sea.

• Okay, so now we know these kings went through the south country conquering all of those people.
• Let’s go back to Genesis Chapter 14 and continue in verse 8.

[27] Genesis 14:8-9 And there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar;) and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim; 9 With Chedorlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with five.

• Now, these 4 kings who are conquering everyone are in the south country.
• Guess who is located in this south country? Those other 5 kings that we saw are in the south country.
• This is where they come together for battle. They fight in the vale or valley of Siddim.
• It’s the first 4 kings against the second five kings. NINE KINGS IN TOTAL IN THIS BATTLE.

[28] Genesis 14:10 And the vale of Siddim was full of slimepits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain.

• The first 4 kings win just as they had been winning. The kings of Sodom and Gomorrah flee. They lost.
• They run away. But as they run away, they fell in the slime pits. Imagine a valley and it being wet.
• What are these slime pits?

[29] Genesis 11:3-4 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. 4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

• The slime is mud used as adhesive. They used it for morter. They used it for building. It was sticky.

[30] Exodus 2:3 And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river’s brink.

• Slime was used to hide baby Moses. So slime is very important in this world.
• And this slime stopped the wicked kings of Sodom and Gomorrah from getting away.
• The slime was very sticky and they got stuck in the slime. And they lost.
• The others that remained fled to the mountains Genesis 14:10 says.

[31] Genesis 14:11 And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way.

• Since they conquered the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah, they take all their goods and victuals.
• What are victuals? This is food. They took all their goods and all their food.
• Sodom and Gomorrah is left without goods and without food.

[32] Genesis 14:12 And they took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.

• The four kings take Lot who now lived in Sodom.
• Remember, Genesis Chapter 13 said he pitched his tent toward Sodom.
• But now we see Lot is actually living in Sodom. They take Lot and his goods. Then they leave.
• So these 4 winning kings take Abram’s nephew Lot.
• How does Abram find out that Lot was taken by these kings? Let’s continue in verse 13.

[33] Genesis 14:13 And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram.

• We see that one of the people who escaped into the mountains at the battle came and told Abram.
• Notice that Abram is called a HEBREW. This is the first time the word Hebrew is used in the entire Bible.
• Some people say the Hebrews came from Jacob.
• But Abraham is before Jacob and Abram is called Hebrew here.
• Remember, Abram was living in the plain of Mamre, WHICH IS IN HEBRON.
• Hebron and Hebrew sound very close, don’t they?

A Man Escapes From The Battle And Tells Abram Of Lot Being Taken

This man who escapes is the brother of Eshcol and Aner and lived around Mamre the Amorite.

• These people were confederate with Abram: Mamre, Eshcol, and Aner.
• These people were friends of Abram. This means they most likely feared God Almighty.
• But they were fighting for Sodom and Gomorrah. People do the same things today.
• This country has pitched its tent toward Sodom. This country supports Sodom today.

We are now turning into Sodom. And people who fear God still fight for this wicked country.

• It’s not completely gone yet, but it’s going.
• People still support the wars that this country takes on that we shouldn’t be in.
• Why are we fighting in so many wars? It’s easy. MONEY. Money is the root of all evil.
• Same thing there in Genesis Chapter 14. You must watch who and what you’re supporting.
• You don’t have to choose a side of the evil and wicked and fight for them.
• So, we see a friend of Abram come and let him know that Lot had been taken by the four kings.

[34] Genesis 14:14-15 And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan. 15 And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.

• Even though Abram and Lot were divided, they were still brothers in Jesus Christ.
• Abram and Lot were both saved men who trusted in the Lord.
• Lot went his own way and ended up in Sodom, which was a very wicked place.
• Why? All for riches. Lot could have said, “No Abram, I am staying with you and giving up the riches.”
• But he doesn’t, and Lot ends up in the nasty place with sodomites everywhere.
• Would he have ended up in a better place by staying with Abram? YES HE WOULD HAVE.
• Notice that Abram doesn’t forget about his brother in Christ.

He could have just said, “Oh well, that’s his problem. He moved to Sodom, and that’s what he gets.”

• He could have made Lot beg for forgiveness. “Do this, do that, and then I might come and save you.”
• But did Abram do this? No, what does Abram do for his brother? He risks his own life for his brother.
• Abram didn’t know if he would die or not. He’s going after these 4 kings who have won every battle.
• “When Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, HE ARMED HIS TRAINED SERVANTS.”

Yes, Abram, one of the most righteous men to ever live because of his great faith in God, ARMED HIS SERVANTS.

• Understand that. Notice also that they were trained to fight. It’s perfectly good to protect yourself.
• Who do you think made sure these servants were trained to fight? ABRAM DID.
• He was ready to defend himself, his family, and his brothers in Christ.

Will you do the same? Peter drew his sword and cut off the ear of the servant of the high priest.

• They had weapons. They were trained to defend themselves.
• God never says to let someone walk all over you. Does He ever once say that? No, He doesn’t.
• Jesus Christ isn’t a pushover like this world is teaching everyone.
• They’re going to be very surprised about Jesus.

[35] Numbers 22:31 Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face.

• Hey, listen, HIS SWORD WAS DRAWN. That’s a weapon.

[36] Joshua 5:13 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?

[37] Joshua 5:14-15 And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant? 15 And the captain of the LORD’S host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.

• Do you know who this MAN is with His sword drawn? This is Jesus Christ. He’s not a pushover.
• He’s not feminine. He doesn’t have long hair, wear a dress, and hand out stuffed animals.
• You will fall flat on your face when you find the Lord God Almighty standing in front of you with a sword drawn.

[38] 1 Chronicles 21:16 And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the LORD stand between the earth and the heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders of Israel, who were clothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces.

• God is “THE MAN” of war. When you come up against God, you lose. GAME OVER.
• You can think you have God outnumbered 1 trillion to ONE. You lose every time.
• Try another way. YOU LOSE AGAIN. Try some other way to defeat God. Satan does all the time.
• YOU LOSE. Try again. You might as well just stop and give it up to God. HE WINS.

[39] Job 20:23-25 When he is about to fill his belly, God shall cast the fury of his wrath upon him, and shall rain it upon him while he is eating. 24 He shall flee from the iron weapon, and the bow of steel shall strike him through. 25 It is drawn, and cometh out of the body; yea, the glittering sword cometh out of his gall: terrors are upon him.

• God wins. He takes on all the evil of this world, and He wins. He cannot lose.

[40] Ezekiel 21:5 That all flesh may know that I the LORD have drawn forth my sword out of his sheath: it shall not return any more.

• The Lord has drawn forth HIS SWORD out of his sheath. He’s ready.

[41] Exodus 15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.

• Is that CLEAR OR NOT? He is a MAN OF WAR. He is “THE MAN” of war.

[42] Psalm 45:3 Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.

• With His sword upon His thigh, GOD IS MOST MIGHTY. He is glorious and majestic. Understand that.
• He is an amazing God that I love with all my heart, soul, and mind. He is absolutely amazing.
• And I am so glad that He is my God. I don’t want to go up against Him. I WILL LOSE. I want to win.

[43] Revelation 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

• JESUS CHRIST is “THE” KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS in capitals.
• I want God Almighty to be my leader in this war. He’s the only way we can win.
• God was on Abram’s side because of Abram’s great faith in the Lord.
• God can be on your side IF you would simply trust in the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind.
• God approves of Abram arming his servants and going after Lot, his brother in Christ.
• This was one of God’s children who went the wrong way. But God still saves Lot here.

We Don’t Come In Peace All The Time In Every Situation

If someone kidnaps one of my children, my wife, my parents, or my brother in Christ, I’m coming for you.

• You can know that I’m coming, and I won’t stop until I find you. And I’m not coming in peace.
• And I won’t give up. You can know that I’m searching for you.
• I’m coming to smite the people who stole someone from me. It’s not time to turn the other cheek.
• Turning the other cheek is for when someone hits you on the cheek. You have two. You’ll be fine.
• And it’s your cheek. It’s not your nephew being stolen. It’s your cheek.

So don’t go after my family. Don’t go after my brothers and sisters in Christ.

• Don’t go after my Dad and Mom. If so, you better be watching for me because I’m coming for you.
• I will not run away like the cowardly so-called “Christians” of this world. I will not hide.
• I’ll meet you face to face. I’ll look you RIGHT DEAD IN THE EYE, and you will be scared. Not me.
• Why? Because God Almighty is within me. He is living here within me, and I’m not scared to die.
• Why? Because I know that I will never die. You might kill my body, but I’ll still be alive.
• I guarantee you that Abram was outnumbered. But did Abram care? No. He didn’t.
• He divided himself against them, by night, and smote them.

[44] Deuteronomy 32:30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?

• Abram goes after these kidnappers. And God is right there with him or he wouldn’t have had a chance.
• He chased after them. He wasn’t running away. Do you understand this? We don’t run away here.
• If someone wants to start the fight, we will fight. We won’t seek after it, but we will attack and defend.
• If you’re looking for a pushover to attack, you should look elsewhere. OUR ROCK IS WITH US.
• We might be small, but we aren’t weak and cowardly. One of us will chase a thousand.
• And two of us will put ten thousand to flight. Why? BECAUSE OF THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY.

[45] Leviticus 26:8 And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.

[46] 2 Samuel 23:8 These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite: he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time.

• Can you take on 800 men at once? I sure can’t but with God I can. I know I can.
• If God is with me, there’s no number that I cannot defeat. Understand that right now.
• And you can laugh all you want, but God will laugh at you.

[47] Joshua 23:10 One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the LORD your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.

• If you trust in the Lord, I guarantee that He’s already fighting for you and you don’t even know it.
• He protects and fights for the people He loves. Do you love Him? He’s out there fighting for you.
• He’s out there protecting you while you sleep at night. While you’re driving, He’s protecting you.
• God goes out before you, and He fights for you. When are you going to step it up and fight for Him?
• THIS IS WAR TODAY. It’s a spiritual war, and we will not back down like all the fake “Christians” out there.
• If you’re a fake “Christian” today as I once was, it’s time to get your Bible out and read it for once.
• You’ll find that what we teach here is the truth. And you can stand with God or not.

The Bible doesn’t say it took Abram some time to make a difficult decision to go after Lot.

• No, as soon as Abram was told, he arms his servants and he goes after the 4 kings. He pursues them.
• No hesitation. No compromise. No talking himself out of it. And it wasn’t a short distance.
• He goes a long way to find Lot and to save Lot. It wasn’t easy.

Hey, look, Jesus Christ did the same thing for you. He did whatever He had to do to save you.

• Will you do the same? People say, “But it’s difficult. I just can’t do it.” Yes you can.
• How can you do it? THROUGH GOD. He’s the only way. You won’t do it on your own.
• You need HIM HERE living within you. How do you do that? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
• He puts “THE WITNESS” within you. I want you to see that I have no fear but God Almighty Himself.
• I want you to know why. I want you to see it. I want you to know to defend yourself.

True Christians Are Not To Be Walked Over

Don’t allow people to walk all over you. Some people believe that’s what “Christians” are supposed to be like.

• Who said so? God sure didn’t. STAND UP FOR GOD. Don’t just accept everything a false preacher says.
• LEAVE AND GO SOMEWHERE that teaches the truth. And we are not alone in this country.
• God has people all over this country and all over the world. They do exist. They are out there.
• And one day we’ll all be on white horses with Jesus Christ as our leader. We will all be together one day.
• Listen, help your brothers and sisters in Christ even if they’ve went the wrong way.
• Rebuke them, tell them the truth, and do your best to bring them back to God.
• This is what Abram did for Lot in Genesis Chapter 14.

[48] Genesis 14:16 And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.

• Abram doesn’t just bring back Lot. Notice these things. He brings back all the goods.
• And not just the goods of Lot. He brought back all the goods of Sodom. He brought back the women.
• He brought back the other people of Sodom. He saved them from these 4 kings.
• They still had a chance and Abram brings them back with him.

[49] Genesis 14:17 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king’s dale.

• Notice what the Bible says. ABRAM SLAUGHTERED CHEDORLAOMER.
• So, you might think that Abram was taking sides here, but he’s not.
• If you thought the 4 kings were the good kings, you would be wrong. Abram slaughtered them.
• Was Abram now siding with the king of Sodom? No way. We’ll see this in a minute.

[50] Genesis 14:18-20 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. 19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: 20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

• Melchizedek KING OF SALEM brings bread and wine. He was the priest of “THE MOST HIGH GOD.”
• Melchizedek blesses Abram, and He blesses the most high God.
• The most high God delivered the enemies into Abram’s hand. Abram didn’t do it on his own.
• We can’t do any of this on our own. We can’t win on our own. We will never win on our own.
• We are outnumbered. They have more people. But we have God. WE WIN. They lose.
• Abram gives Melchizedek tithes of all. Who is “THE PRIEST OF THE MOST HIGH GOD?”
• The Bible tells us that Melchizedek is the KING OF SALEM. Salem is only found 4 times in the Bible.
• We’ve already seen one occurrence in Genesis Chapter 14. Let’s look at the others.

[51] Psalm 76:2 In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.

• That’s the second occurrence of the word Salem. Here’s the last 2 and this will tell us all we need to know.

[52] Hebrews 7:1-2 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; 2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;

[53] Hebrews 7:3-4 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually. 4 Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.

• This Melchizedek is JESUS CHRIST Himself 100% without a doubt. There is no one else He could be.
• Melchizedek is without father, without mother, without descent.
• He doesn’t have a beginning of days nor end of life and made like unto the Son of God.
• Abraham was a great man because of his faith, but the Bible says this Melchizedek was much greater.
• “EVEN THE PATRIARCH ABRAHAM GAVE A TENTH OF THE SPOILS.”

Abraham Gave Tithes

Abraham gave tithes to Jesus Christ. A tithe is a tenth of the spoils as shown right there.

• The spoils is what Abram won back. He gave that tenth to Jesus Christ.
• What does Jesus actually deserve? 100%. But He only asks for 10%. Think about that.
• Why did Abram win that battle in the first place? JESUS CHRIST. Without Him, he would have lost.
• But with Jesus, Abram wins. Jesus deserves all 100%, but once again, God shows His greatness.
• He only asks for 10%. Notice that Abram gives tithes here in Genesis Chapter 14.
• This is before the law was given to Moses.

[54] Genesis 28:20-22 And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on, 21 So that I come again to my father’s house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God: 22 And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.

• There’s another tithing verse BEFORE the law was given to Moses.
• This is Jacob. “And of ALL that thou shalt give me, I will SURELY give the tenth unto thee.”
• Abram and Jacob were great men of God with faith in God. That’s what made them great.
• It wasn’t the works of themselves that made them great. It was faith in God that led to their works.
• And If Abram and Jacob gave tithes to God, what do you think that means? Should we?
• We need to make sure it’s going for the work of God, and being used to save souls to Jesus Christ.
• Tithes are used to pay for the work that we do for God to save souls and to teach God’s commandments.
• Let’s continue in Genesis Chapter 14 and see what happens next.

[55] Genesis 14:21 And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.

• The king of Sodom is trying to give Abram all the goods from Sodom as payment for saving the people.
• What do you think Abram’s response is going to be?

[56] Genesis 14:22-24 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth, 23 That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich: 24 Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.

• Abram tells the king of Sodom that he has lifted up his hand unto THE LORD saying that he would not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet from Sodom.
• Abram tells the king of Sodom that the Lord is the most high God and possessor of heaven and earth.
• Who owns the heaven? Who owns the earth? The God of the Bible owns it all.
• Abram won’t take anything from Sodom because he doesn’t want the king of Sodom claiming that he made Abram rich.
• Abram wants everyone to know that GOD ALMIGHTY made him rich.

Abram takes nothing from Sodom. He does say the young men have eaten some of the food.

• And Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre will take their portion as well.
• When you have God as your supplier and you trust in Him, you don’t need things from others.
• For example, I don’t need to fight over possessions with anyone.
• You won’t see me at Wal-Mart on Black Friday fighting over a video game console.
• You won’t see me fighting over a TV. I could care less.

You can see that Abram wasn’t greedy. He’s not going to take anything from Sodom.

• But he did give tithes to the Lord. You can see that God’s people will give and not take.
• But they don’t give to them who hate the Lord. They don’t help those who hate the Lord Jesus Christ.
• God’s people shouldn’t take from anyone else. We’ll take what God provides to us and forget the rest.
• We don’t compromise to make more money.

The Bible Commands Us To Work So We Don’t Ask For Free Money

We don’t sit at home, draw unemployment, never look for a job, draw disability when we aren’t disabled, and then ask churches for money.

• Godly women don’t go and have children with any man they can find so they can get more money.
• All of these things are happening everywhere around us, and it’s sickening.
• People need to look at this example from Abram and say: “I WILL NOT TAKE THAT MONEY.”

[57] 2 Kings 5:15-16 And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a blessing of thy servant. 16 But he said, As the LORD liveth, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he urged him to take it; but he refused.

• Naaman is healed because he does what Elisha tells him to do. He wants to give Elisha some money.
• Elisha says, “As the Lord liveth, before whom I stand, I WILL RECEIVE NONE.”
• And Naaman URGED Elisha to take it, but he refused. “I WON’T TAKE IT.”
• The true people of God will not be greedy because they know God supplies them with what they need.

Abraham didn’t need all of those riches. He didn’t have to have more and more money.

• It seems that Lot wanted to prosper, but we see that Lot had everything taken away.
• We give thanks to the Lord as we give to the Lord. We don’t take from others.
• We aren’t greedy. We don’t have to have all these things of the world.
• We are happy with food and clothing. We will work hard for the Lord and give to the Lord.

[58] 1 Kings 13:7-8 And the king said unto the man of God, Come home with me, and refresh thyself, and I will give thee a reward. 8 And the man of God said unto the king, If thou wilt give me half thine house, I will not go in with thee, neither will I eat bread nor drink water in this place:

• Let’s say you can make more money by going into something that’s evil.
• Should you do it? You won’t be better off for it. “If you give me half your house, I won’t go in with thee.”
• We don’t make partnerships with evil people and evil businesses. Not for any amount of money.
• We need to watch out for all these things. We need to be like Abram and Elisha.
• “I WILL NOT TAKE THAT MONEY.” We will instead rely on God Almighty to supply us what we need.
• We know that God will take care of us, and we fear nothing.
• We don’t fear the loss of a job, or no food, or no water. God will provide, and we trust in Him.
