Introduction
I’m Pastor Joshua Tapp from True Words Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky — and this is Soul Winning Secrets. From the Scriptures to the streets — we live soul winning. Let’s go fishing for men.
Religion Isn’t the Same as Salvation
You ask someone if they’re saved, and they say:
“I go to church.”
“I’ve been baptized.”
“I’m a good person.”
“I’m Catholic.” “I’m Methodist.” “I’m Baptist.”
That’s not salvation — that’s confusion.
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us…” — Titus 3:5
The biggest obstacle to the Gospel is often religion — not rebellion.
Ask the Right Question
Try this:
“That’s great — but if you died today, do you know for sure you’d go to Heaven?”
“And what do you believe someone has to do to be saved?”
If they give a works-based answer, you’ve just found your mission.
Make the Gospel Clear
“For by grace are ye saved through faith… not of works…” — Ephesians 2:8–9
Tell them salvation isn’t earned — it’s received.
✅ Say this:
“I’m not offering a religion — I’m offering a relationship with Jesus Christ.”
✅ Use:
- Romans 3:23
- Romans 6:23
- Romans 5:8
- Acts 16:31
- John 10:28
Soul Winning Secret
“Religion can blind people to their need for salvation — until truth breaks through.”
Be bold. Be clear. Be ready to untangle what church has tangled up.
Final Challenge
Don’t be intimidated by religious talk. Use it to pivot. Bring the conversation back to the cross. That’s where salvation actually begins.
Outro
We’ve seen souls saved week after week — and you can too. Don’t just watch — go fishing. Let’s win the world to Christ, one soul at a time.
