Thee, Thou, Thine, and Thy MUST NOT be taken out of Bibles because these words are very, very important to understanding the Bible.
If you want to have trouble understanding the Bible, then get yourself a modern “Bible” version.
If you want to be confused about the Scriptures and what they mean, then get yourself a modern “Bible” version.
The King James Bible is the Bible you need in English, and I want to show you AGAIN today why the King James Bible is perfect and the modern perversions are not.
The New King James Version is a perversion of God’s word, and it does not make the Bible easier to understand.
“But The King James Bible Sounds Old!”
All of these new age and modern people don’t want anything to do with “OLD.”
Think of what they’re saying. Let’s say the King James Bible is the actual word of God. Let’s say it is the perfect and inspired word of God in English.
“Well, it’s just too old for me. I need something newer and more modern.”
Wow is all I can say. You want to find out who God really is, but you don’t want anything to do with His words? Really?
Think about that. The King James Bible DOES NOT say and mean the same thing as the new, modern, and corrupted versions.

Why Do People Want The Thee’s, Thou’s, Thine’s, and Thy’s Removed?
There’s nothing at all wrong with these words.
They aren’t difficult to understand, but many people don’t understand the differences in these words and why the King James Bible uses them.
If these words are removed, the meaning is not the same. These words are required so that we can understand God’s intentions within HIS WORDS.
The King James Bible is the word of God and removing these means we are changing God’s words. We’re changing the meaning of His words too.
If the thee’s, thou’s, thine’s, and thy’s are removed, what’s the reason for removing them?
They sure aren’t hurting the word of God. Why are so many people wanting to remove these words? Are they out dated? Are they difficult to understand? No, they aren’t.
Here’s What Many People Think Thee and Thou Mean:
Many people believe they are referencing God or a deity. They are not a reference to God or a deity of any kind.
Others believe that these words mean that there is some special relationship between people. These words do not mean there is a special relationship.
Some believe that the thee’s, thou’s, thine’s, and thy’s are some type of prayer language that we should be using. “You should only use these words when praying to God.” These are NOT special prayer words.
Most people believe these were words used in normal conversation between people in early English. “Well, people used THEE, THOU, THINE, and THY in normal conversation in the 1600’s. We don’t use these words in normal conversation so let’s get rid of them.”
That’s FALSE!!! People did not use these words in normal conversation in the 1600’s.
Many people believe that thee is equal to you, thou is equal to ye, thine is equal to yours, and thy is equal to your. This is also false.
How do we know all of these things are false? All we have to do is look to the perfect word of God in English, the King James Bible, to show us the truth. We always use the Bible because it is the truth.
And we’ll do that here today.
Where Did These False Ideas About The Thee’s, Thou’s, Thine’s, and Thy’s Come From?
Where did most of these false idea’s come from? Why do most people believe they need a new version that is easier to understand?
The modern Bible translations came up with these ideas so they could market their “new and improved” versions of God’s word. They don’t believe God could have possibly gotten it right through the King James Bible.
For example, the older versions of the New American Standard confused these words (thee, thou, thine, thy) by only using them to address God. Why would they do that? They have only added confusion over the years.
They should have just left it alone versus attempting to become rich from God’s word.
The New King James Version is an abomination of God’s word. They didn’t “update” the language of the King James Bible. They didn’t even use the same underlying text. They are liars.
Actually, the truth is that the New King James Version translators simply demonstrated that they had no understanding of the language used within the King James Bible.
Let’s Look For The Very First Occurrence of the Word “THEE” In The Bible
Did you know the word “thee” is in the King James Bible 3826 times in 2736 verses? It must be an important word.
The first time it’s used in the Bible is in Genesis Chapter 3. Let’s look at that Scripture.
Genesis 3:11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
We can learn a lot from the first time words are used within the Bible. This is actually a great method for studying the Bible. We should also look at the Scripture before and after the verse.
So, let’s go back to verse 9 and go through verse 14.
Genesis 3:9-14 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. 11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? 12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. 13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. 14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
Now, what do we see in all of this Scripture?
We see thou, thy, and thee many times in these six verses within Genesis Chapter 3. So, it’s a great idea that we should learn what all of these words mean.
Let’s take a close look at THOU within these verses. In verse 9, you’ll see that THOU is used in reference to Adam. In verse 12, we see that THOU is used as a reference to God. In verse 14, we see THOU is a reference to Satan or the devil.
This immediately proves that THOU isn’t some special prayer language. It also disproves that THOU is not just a pronoun for God. Is that not very easy to see?
Thee Is Not Equal To You, Thou Is Not Equal To Ye, Thine Is Not Equal To Yours, Thy Is Not Equal To Your
Thee is not the same word as you. Thou is not the same word as ye. Thine is not the same word as yours. Thy is not the same word as your.
What does this mean? This means you CANNOT substitute those words for one another at all times and get the exact same meaning from the Scriptures.
Let’s look at an example for “THEE” and “YOU.” Of course, we’re going to use the Bible to prove that these words are not equal to each other.
1 Corinthians 12:21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
The eye cannot say unto the hand (singular hand), “I have no need of THEE.” This is talking about one HAND. You have two HANDS, but this is talking about one hand. The eye cannot say unto THE HAND. One hand. Singular. THEE is referring to the singular hand.
Do you see this? That’s the first part of the verse. Let’s look at the second part of the verse.
Nor again the head to the feet (plural feet), “I have no need of you.” This is talking about both feet. You have two feet, and this is talking about BOTH feet. Plural feet. YOU is referring to the plural feet.
There are many examples (hundreds) within the Bible that show this same thing. Here’s another:
Titus 3:15 All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen. It was written to Titus, ordained the first bishop of the church of the Cretians, from Nicopolis of Macedonia.
Paul and all that are with him are saluting THEE (singular). They are saluting Titus alone. Then, the Bible says, “Grace be with YOU all.” That means Paul isn’t just talking to Titus but more than Titus.
Maybe The New Modern Version Translators Should Have Used An English Dictionary
Thee, thou, thine, and thy are all SINGULAR.
You, ye, yours, and your are all PLURAL.
So, we see all these “great scholars” trying their best to make money from God’s word. And you see the result in the modern day corruptions of God’s word. The Bibles do not say and mean the same thing.
We also learn from the dictionary that thee, thou, thine, and thy were used in normal English conversation prior to the 12th century (prior to 1101). This form of English became out dated prior to the 15th century (prior to 1401).
We know that the King James Bible translators didn’t speak in normal conversation using thee, thou, thine, and thy.
What does this tell us? This tells us that they put them there for a reason.
Even the regular people having conversation before the Wycliffe and Tyndale English Bibles weren’t using these words.
Doesn’t this tell you God must have put them there for a reason? Yes, they are there for very good reasons. They are there to help us understand the Bible properly.
Bible Translators Brought Back Thee, Thou, Thine, and Thy
Biblical Hebrew, which happens to be the underlying language of the Old Testament, SHOWS A CLEAR distinction between singular pronouns/adjectives and plural pronouns/adjectives.
Biblical Greek, which happens to the be the underlying language of the New Testament, SHOWS A CLEAR distinction between the singular and plural pronouns and adjectives too.
Wouldn’t it then make sense that the English translation should SHOW A CLEAR distinction between the singular and plural as well? Yes, it makes perfect sense.
That’s the exact reason the translations in the line of the King James Bible all use thee, thou, thine, and thy. These are all SINGULAR words.
The translators in the King James Bible line of translations used these “outdated” words so they could faithfully translate the original Hebrew and Greek.
They didn’t use these words because they were the words used in normal English conversation. They used them so we could understand the Bible as God intended for us to understand. Getting rid of those words make it much more difficult to understand.
The Distinction Between Singular and Plural Is One That The Holy Ghost Made
Do you actually care what God intended to be written? If you do, you’ll understand that the ORIGINAL AUTOGRAPHS included this distinction between singular and plural.
The King James Bible includes this distinction between singular and plural, and it does it perfectly just as the Holy Spirit (GOD) intended.
If you want to remove them, you’re saying that you don’t care what God intended. “I DON’T CARE WHAT GOD WANTED.” Yes, that’s what you’re saying.
When you get rid of the thee, thou, thine, and thy, you are simply adding confusion to the Bible.
1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
When you finally realize that the thee’s, thou’s, thine’s, and thy’s are NEEDED, you’ll see how perfect the King James Bible happens to be. The other modern perversions can’t stand up to the King James Bible. They don’t even come close.
An Example Of Confusion Within The English Standard Version (ESV)
I’ve heard so many people tell me that the English Standard Version is the best. I hear it when I’m out soul winning all the time.
“Hold on a second. Let me get my ESV so I know what you’re saying is correct.” Yes, that’s what I hear.
The ESV is a HUGE perversion of God’s words.
Acts 13:9-10 Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him, 10 And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
Yes, the modern “Bible” versions have perverted God’s words, and I guarantee you God will get his vengeance on those people who pervert HIS WORDS.
So, let’s look at a quick and easy example. Let’s go to Luke Chapter 22. We’ll read the word of God, the King James Bible first:
Luke 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
Jesus is talking to Simon Peter. He says, “Satan hath desired to have YOU (plural), that he may sift YOU (plural) as wheat.” Jesus is talking to more than just Simon Peter in verse 31!
Now look at verse 32 in the King James Bible:
Luke 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
Now Jesus says, “But I have prayed for THEE (singular), that thy (singular) faith fail not: and when thou (singular) art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”
Let’s look at THIS PERVERSION CALLED THE ESV:
Luke 22:31-32 (ESV perversion) “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you,that he might sift you like wheat, 32 but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.”
Do you see how the King James Bible says Jesus is talking to more than one in verse 31, but the ESV has Jesus just talking with Simon Peter?
Even the corrupted New International Version (NIV) gets it right when compared to the ESV:
Luke 22:31-32 (NIV perversion) 31 “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”
At least they say, “ALL OF YOU” in verse 31. The original Greek clearly shows that Jesus is talking to more than one in verse 31, but the ESV couldn’t get it right. The word used is PLURAL, and that’s why the King James Bible used “YOU” instead of “THEE” in verse 31.
What’s the New King James Version say?
Luke 22:31-32 (NKJV perversion) 31 And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”
Again, they got it wrong. Do you see how easy it is to prove the modern “Bible” versions are corrupted?
Yes, Thee, Thou, Thine, and Thy Are VERY Important To Understanding The Bible
I want to give you one last example showing how important these words are to understanding the Bible.
Joshua 1:5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
If you read Joshua Chapter 1, you’ll see that God is making promises to Israel (plural) and promises to Joshua (singular).
With the new understanding you now have, you should be able to see how the other “Bible” versions are corrupted. This is why we won’t TOUCH the modern perversions in our church today. We are King James Bible Only, and we didn’t just randomly choose to be.
We chose to be King James Bible only because there’s PROOF that the other versions are highly corrupted.
