[2] The title of the sermon: “DAY OF THE LORD VS. DAY OF CHRIST.”

  • I’m going to get straight to this today. The day of the Lord and the day of Christ are equal.
  • Let me prove this to you today as we get started.

[3] 2 Thessalonians 2:1-2 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

  • The Day of Christ is the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. This would be His second coming.
  • “By the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto Him.”
  • We know that the rapture or first resurrection occurs at the second coming of Jesus Christ.
  • “The day of Christ is at hand.” Day of Christ equals the day Jesus comes in the clouds.
  • This is what the Scripture says right here. Now, let’s compare to Acts Chapter 2.

[4] Acts 2:19-20 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:

  • The great and notable day of the Lord is equal to the day that Jesus comes back.
  • Right before the day of the Lord, the sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood.
  • This speaks of the Day of the Lord. In 2 Thessalonians Chapter 2, the day of Christ is His second coming.

[5] Matthew 24:29-31 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

  • This all comes together in the Scriptures there. The second coming of Jesus Christ is the Day of the Lord.
  • And is the Day of Christ. At His second coming, He gathers His people together at the rapture.

We know the tribulation is over because the Bible says right there: “AFTER THE TRIBULATION.”
  • Once the sun and moon are darkened, the tribulation is over.

[6] Revelation 6:12-14 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

  • At the sixth seal, we see all the signs that Jesus said to look for right before His second coming.
  • We know the tribulation is over. The great tribulation is over. Daniel’s 70th week is not over yet.
  • At the sixth seal, we know the tribulation is over because Jesus says, “after the tribulation.”
  • We know the Day of the Lord is a great and terrible day. We see the sun and moon darkened.
  • We see all the signs. We’ve been over this many times so I’m not going over in detail again.
  • I want to move past these things that we already know.
  • After this happens in Revelation Chapter 6, we see this at the end of the chapter:

[7] Revelation 6:15-17 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

  • We see that the “great day of His wrath is come.” They are now hiding from the wrath of the Lamb.
  • This is Jesus Christ. The day of the Lord is here. The day of Christ is here.
  • In Revelation Chapter 7, we see that the rapture happened. Listen to this.

[8] Revelation 7:13-14 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

  • This multitude of people show up in heaven. Where did they come from? Sir, thou knowest.
  • These are they which came out of great tribulation.
  • They were raptured by Jesus Christ at His second coming.
  • We know Revelation goes back in time at Revelation Chapter 12. We see some of the same events.

We get more detail in the second half of Revelation. We see the second coming of Jesus in Revelation Chapter 14.

  • We see Him coming in the clouds. We see Him rapturing His people.
  • We see Him pouring out His wrath on the earth. He gathers the wheat and the tares.

[9] Revelation 14:14-16 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. 15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. 16 And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.

[10] Revelation 14:17-18 And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. 18 And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.

[11] Revelation 14:19-20 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. 20 And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

  • So, we see this is the great and terrible day of the Lord. The day of the Lord is great for God’s people.
  • The day of Christ is terrible for the enemies of God and of Jesus Christ.
  • Now, let’s move forward from here because we know all of these things already. We trust the Bible.

The day of the Lord and the day of Christ are the same say. This is His second coming.

  • At His second coming, the rapture occurs. We know this because many Scriptures teach us this.
  • They all agree with each other. But, we’re looking a the Day of the Lord versus the Day of Christ.
  • When you search the Scriptiures for the exact phrase, “Day of the Lord,” you find the following results:

[12]

  • We find the exact phrase 31 times in 29 matching verses. The 29 verses are shown here.
  • 24 in the Old Testament and 5 in the New Testament. We’ve already looked at some of these today.
  • Now, if we search the Scriptures for the exact phrase “Day of Christ,” we get the following results:

[13]

  • So, we see that we get 3 times in 3 matching verses. Let’s look at these 3 Scriptures first.
  • Notice the positivity of when the Day of Christ is used. The Bible is writing these verses to saved people.

[14] Philippians 1:9-11 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; 10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; 11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

  • We don’t see anything negative in these Scriptures. The Day of Christ is great for Christians.

[15] Philippians 2:14-16 Do all things without murmurings and disputings: 15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; 16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

  • Again, all positive here. “That I may rejoice in the day of Christ.”

[16] 2 Thessalonians 2:1-2 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

  • We’ve read thos one twice now in this sermon.
  • The coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together unto Him is the day of Christ.
  • This day is coming soon. But, when does this day come? We keep reading in 2 Thessalonians Chapter 2.

[17] 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

  • This shows us that Jesus isn’t coming back until the antichrist comes first.
  • Verse 4 shows us the abomination of desolation.
  • The Day of Christ doesn’t occur until the antichrist comes.

When the antichrist sits in the temple of God showing himself to be God, this is the abomination of desolation.

  • This is spoken of by Daniel the prophet. This happens in the middle of Daniel’s 70th week or 7-year period.
  • Jesus Christ comes back soon after this happens.
  • Tribulation turns to great tribulation and then the Day of the Lord or Day of Christ happens.
  • This all matches perfectly between all of these books of the Bible.

When we look closer at the 29 matching verses for the Day of the Lord, we’ll find the following characteristics for that day:

  • The day of the Lord is for the proud, lofty, and lifted up. They shall be brought low.
  • There will be howling and destruction from the Almighty.
  • That day is a cruel day with wrath and anger. The land will be made desolate. It’s a day to destroy sinners.
  • It is a day of vengeance and recompense. All I did was go through all of those Scriptures to get this list.
  • God will take vengeance against His adversaries. His sword shall devour. There will be blood and sacrifice.
  • It is a solemn day or a serious and grave day. Terrors. Anger. None escape. None remain.

It is a day of battle. It is a cloudy day. A day of destruction. The trumpet will be blown. An alarm will sound.

  • There will be trembling. It is a great and very terrible day. There will be a valley of decision.
  • It is darkness and not light. It’s very dark. No brightness. This day is upon all the heathen.
  • The Lord has prepared a sacrifice. Guests are invited to this sacrifice.

It is for those clothed with strange apparel. There will be bitter crying. People are devoured by His jealousy.

  • A speedy riddance will be made. Anger. The righteous will be hid in the day of the Lord’s anger.
  • The spoil will be divided. It is a great and a dreadful day. It is a great and a notable day.
  • The sun will be turned into darkness. The moon will be turned to blood.

The Day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night. The heavens pass away with a great noise.

  • The elements melt with fervent heat. The earth is burned up. The works in the earth are burned up.
  • There is sudden destruction. There are wonders in heaven above. There are signs in the earth beneath.
  • There is blood, fire, and vapor of smoke. So, we don’t see many positives in the Day of the Lord Scriptures.
  • We do see that it is a great day and a terrible day. So, this goes both ways. Positive and negative.

We know that the coming of the Lord happens on the Day of the Lord or the Day of Christ.

  • So, we can also look up Scriptures about the coming of the Lord. All of these are going to match.
  • We’ll learn more about that day when the Lord Jesus Christ comes back.
  • For this section of the sermon, I looked up the phrase “coming of.” There were 17 Scriptures.

[18]

  • Stay with me here. Remember, we’re looking at Scriptures that speak of the Day of the Lord.
  • Day of Christ. And now the coming of the Lord. Because all of these things are on the same day.
  • The prhase “coming of” is in the Bible 17 times in 17 verses. There are several there that aren’t applicable.
  • Some say coming of the children of Israel, coming of Stephanas, coming of Titus.
  • What do we find when we look closely at these Scriptures?

[19] Matthew 24:26-28 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. 27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

  • We see that it’s not going to be a secret at all. From the East to the West, we will see Him.
  • We see there will be a gathering together of His people. “There will the eagles be gathered together.”
  • When Jesus comes back on the Day of the Lord, He will gather His people together.
  • We know this because just a few verses down in Matthew 24 the Bible says this again.

[20] Matthew 24:36-39 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

  • We will never know the exact day or hour. We know the Day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night.
  • This means the day comes when we don’t know. A thief comes when you aren’t expecting.
  • We’ll know when the Day is getting closer and even very close, but we don’t the exact day and hour.
  • Others will be eating and drinking and continuing in the evil that they do. That day will overtake them.
  • But, we know that the Day of the Lord will not overtake us. Thieves break in and overtake some people.
  • But, people who are prepared, are not overtaken by the thief. Most people will not be prepared.

[21] 1 Thessalonians 4:15-16 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

  • We see the coming of the Lord here. This is the Day of the Lord and the Day of Christ.
  • He descends from heaven. A loud voice from the archangel and the trump of God is heard.
  • The first resurrection or the rapture occurs right here at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

[22] 1 Thessalonians 4:17-18 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

  • So, we see the rapture 100% for sure. Rapture comes from a Latin translation of the Bible.
  • We see clouds here. Ezekiel Chapter 30 says that the Day of the Lord is a cloudy day.
  • If we continue into 1 Thessalonians Chapter 5, we see this.

[23] 1 Thessalonians 5:1-2 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

  • This is speaking of the things that just happened in 1 Thessalonians Chapter 4.
  • The coming of the Lord, the rapture, the day of the Lord. All of this happens on the same day.
  • And we know this is a 24-hour day because seal 7 in Revelation includes silence in heaven for half an hour.
  • We see, again, that the day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night. But listen closely as we continue.

[24] 1 Thessalonians 5:3-5 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

  • So, we see a distinction between 2 different groups of people here. 1) They shall not escape.
  • 2) But ye, brethren, are not in darkness. It’s going to be a dark and cloudy day, but we are not in darkness.
  • Jesus is coming to gather us together on that day. We will meet Him in the clouds that day.
  • That day of the Lord will come as a thief, but that day will not overtake us as a thief. We are prepared.
  • We see the truth in the Bible, and it’s very clear to us.
  • The Day of the Lord is the Day of Christ is the second coming is the rapture.

[25] Acts 1:9-11 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

  • We see clouds. We know Jesus will come in like manner at His second coming. You will see Him.

[26] Revelation 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

  • The people see Him so they hide from Him. It is a terrible day for most. A day of terror for most.
  • Every eye shall see Him at His second coming. We see wailing on the earth because of Him.
  • But of that exact day and hour NO ONE KNOWS. We don’t know.
  • But we know what to watch for so that day doesn’t overtake us a thief.

[27] 1 Thessalonians 5:6-8 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

  • We watch for all the things that Jesus commands us to watch for in Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, and the Book of Revelation.
  • We watch so that the Day of the Lord or the Day of Christ doesn’t overtake us a thief.
  • Does all this make sense when using the Scriptures?
  • For example, how can He come as a thief in the night but every eye shall see Him?
  • Hopefully this makes sense now. The Day of the Lord and the Day of Christ are the same day.

In the “Day of the Lord” Scriptures, we see mostly negative things. In the Day of Christ Scriptures, these things are mentioned:

  • Speaking to saved people. We will be blameless on that day.
  • Jesus will perform a good work in us until that day. We wait without offense for the Day of Christ.
  • Saved people are blameless and harmless Sons of God without rebuke.
  • We are in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation. We shine as lights in this world.
  • We rejoice in the Day of Christ. We have not run in vain when that day comes.

Sometimes we might think we’re not making any progress, but we’ll see that we have.

  • Our labor is not in vain. There will be joy and rejoicing when the Day of Christ comes.
  • The Day of Christ is the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Scriptures say these things.
  • The Day of Christ is our gathering together unto Him. We are not to be shaken in mind.
  • We are not to be troubled. Do you see the difference in the Day of the Lord and the Day of Christ?

Jesus is the Lord and Christ. This same day is the Day of the Lord and the Day of Christ.

  • Jesus is Lord of all no matter what anyone thinks or says.
  • Some false preachers will say that you must make Jesus Lord of your life to be saved.
  • Jesus is Lord. It doesn’t matter what you make Him. HE IS LORD. He is Lord of all.
  • For the people who hate Him, He is still their Lord. They will hide on the terrible day of the Lord.

For us who are saved, He is Christ. He is Lord and He is Christ. Christ means Savior. He is our Savior.

  • For the others who hate Him, He is their Savior or Christ, but they have rejected Him.
  • He will not save them. This is why it’s called the Day of the Lord for them and not the Day of Christ.
  • For us who are saved, it is not a terrible day. We are not in terror. It is a great day.
  • We love to see the coming of our Lord and Christ.

This is the difference in the Day of the Lord versus the Day of Christ. It is the same day.

  • The day comes as a thief in the night. No one knows the day or the hour.
  • This day will come upon the wicked and evil like a thief and that day will overtake them.
  • They won’t be ready. They don’t care. So the thief will take everything from them.
  • We will be ready. We know the signs to look for. That day will not overtake us.
  • That day is equal to the day of redemption for us. Our body will be redeemed that day.
  • Our body will be changed. And we shall ever be with the Lord from that day on.

We also see and know in the Bible that there are many Days of the Lord.

  • We know that there is dual fulfillment in prophecy. We know some of these days have already happened.
  • But we know there will be a final day of the Lord and day of Christ at His second coming.
  • The Bible is pointing to this final day of the Lord or Day of Christ. But, I want to show you something else.
  • There are days that are called the day of God and the great day of God Almighty.

[28] 2 Peter 3:10-13 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

  • I know the writing there is small, but I want you to see it all together here.
  • The day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night. We see heavens passing away with a great noise.
  • Elements melting with heat. The earth and works being burned up. God’s wrath begins on this day.
  • In verse 13, we see the Bible say that we look for a new heavens and a new earth.
  • This happens later on after the thousand year reign of Jesus Christ.

We must know the timeline of end times events. The new heavens and new earth doesn’t come until later.

  • The Book of Revelation even gives us timing of all these events. So, we must not confuse events.
  • Look at verse 12 there. “Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God.”
  • “Wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat.”
  • Jesus is God. The coming of the Day of God is the coming of Jesus Christ.
  • I want to show you a Scripture in Revelation Chapter 16 about the Day of God.

[29] Revelation 16:12-16 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared. 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. 15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. 16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

  • And yes, this is smaller than normal, but I want you to see this altogether again. This is the sixth vial.
  • We see people are being gathered together to the battle of that great day of God almighty.
  • This is called the great day of God Almighty. And verse 15 says, “Behold, I come as a thief.”
  • And we know this is the day of the Battle of Armageddon, which happens in Revelation Chapter 19.

On that day, Jesus will come as a thief to the people who are left on earth. He will overcome them.

  • The rapture has already happened before this day.
  • This is not the second coming of Jesus Christ in Revelation Chapter 19.
  • Nothing matches the Scriptures about the second coming of Christ. But this day is a great day of God.
  • But it’s not the same day as the rapture and the second coming of Jesus Christ.

So, there are many days of God within the Bible. There are many days of the Lord and days of Christ.

  • For example, we have many great days of the Lord God Almighty to look forward to.
  • We’ve talked about them before, but we have the second coming of Jesus Christ.
  • We have the rapture. We have the Battle of Armageddon. We are on white horses with Jesus leading.
  • We have the thousand year reign with Jesus Christ that begins right after the Battle of Armageddon.

On that day, Satan will be locked up in hell for one thousand years. He gets out at the end of the thousand years.

  • Then we see a day with the Battle of Gog and Magog. That will be a great day of God and Jesus Christ.
  • Satan will be done forever now. Then the great white throne judgment happens. This is a great day.
  • This is the final judgment of God. Then we will see the new heaven and the new earth.
  • The first heaven and earth are passed away. We have many days that are great days of God.
  • Everything doesn’t happen on the same day. God gives us the order of things. Don’t forget the Scriptures.
  • Let’s review the order of end times events quickly and note the Day of the Lord and the Day of Christ.

Daniel’s 70th week begins. The tribulation begins. Daniel’s 70th week is not equal to the tribulation.

  • The tribulation is only a part of Daniel’s 70th week. Satan and his angels are cast to earth.
  • We see seal 1 with the white horse and antichrist. The start of the daily sacrifice begins. Seal 2 is opened.
  • We see a red horse. Peace is taken from the earth. Seal 3 with a black horse and balances.
  • Seal 4 with a pale horse and death. The two witnesses come to preach. The antichrist dies and is healed.
  • Tribulation turns to great tribulation. Christians are targeted. The abomination of desolation occurs.
  • Seal 5 is opened. Slain souls are seen under the altar

Seal 6 is opened on the Day of the Lord and Day of Christ. The tribulation ends.

  • The 144,000 are sealed on the Day of the Lord. Jesus comes in the clouds. The rapture happens.
  • This is the first resurrection. The great day of God’s wrath is come. Seal 7 is opened.
  • There is silence in heaven for half and hour. This is a solemn day and a solemn time for 30 minutes.
  • God’s wrath begins. The temple of tabernacle in heaven is opened. Trumpet 1 and vial 1.
  • Hail and fire to the earth. FIRE. HEAT. Dissolving. Trumpet 2 and vial 2. The sea and blood.
  • Trumpet 3 and vial 3 on the rivers.

Trumpet 4 and vial 4 on the sun, moon, and stars. Day and night is darkened. Sun scorches men.

  • The 3 woes come next. The bottomless pit opens. Locusts from hell.
  • Trumpet 6 and vial 6 on the Euphrates river is woe two. 200 million horsemen kill 1/3 of men on earth.
  • The two witnesses and the 144,000 have still been preaching the everlasitng Gospel during this wrath.
  • The two witnesses are killed and arise from the dead.

Trumpet 7 and vial 7 is the third woe. Babylon is fallen. The marriage supper of the Lamb begins.

  • The battle of Armageddon happens. At the final trumpet, the kingdoms are become the Lord’s.
  • The kingdoms are given to the saints. Earthquake and great hail. This is the final woe.
  • The cities of the nations fall. The antichrist and false prophet are thrown into hell. Satan goes to hell.
  • The thousand year reign of Jesus Christ is here. We rule and reign with Him.

At the end of the thousand years, Satan is loosed from hell. Battle of Gog and Magog happens.

  • Satan goes to hell forever. The great white throne judgment occurs. This is the final resurrection.
  • The dead are judged. The living are not judged. Death and hell are cast into the lake of fire.
  • The lake of fire is not within the new earth. The new heaven and earth is here.
  • New Jerusalem comes down from heaven. God Almighty will now live with all men in glorified bodies.
  • The Lamb’s wife is the Holy Jerusalem from heaven. Eternal life continues.

So, there are many days of the Lord that have already happened, but they all point to one that is to come.

  • The Day of the Lord and the Day of Christ happen when Jesus comes back in the clouds.
  • He raptures His people. This is not a secret. Every eye shall see Him.
  • That day will come as a thief in the night but it will not overcome the saved.
  • I hope this sermon has helped you to understand more. If you want to see all the Scriptures that go with this sermon, find the sermon on the website.
  • The page and the PDF has all the Scriptures attached.

Let’s pray.

Your summary of end time timelines all together really helped me understand the true order of events of the end times! It was a powerful message that kept me intrigued through out your entire sermon, as are all your Revelation sermons! I have always had a keen interest in the book of Revelation, but have never had them so spiritually accurately described as you do!!! There are so many other writers of Revelation that really never take in what the King James Bible truly says in the order it says they occur in, as so many are “afraid” of going through the tribulation and think we are not meant for tribulation. Jesus suffered greatly on the cross for our eternal salvation, so what makes us think we are better than Jesus to not have to suffer any for our beliefs! Many through out history have already done so. Many were burned alive for their faith. Thank you, Josh, for your clear descriptions of Revelation, end time events, and the other biblical books regarding the end times!

      Hello Philip!

I am glad the summaries of end times events are helping. I’ve got something really great from a friend of mine (through this website) named Mike Murphy. I’ve tried putting together charts like he has but his are much better than anything I can come up with graphically. He does amazing work on the tables, charts, and graphics. They are very accurate as well.

Awesome work by Mike! He even added some new ones, and they are the exact ones I’ve tried creating on my computer. I am not so good with the graphics. Check out his Biblical feasts chart at the bottom. I have something just like this I tried creating to explain them a year or two ago. I could never get it to look right so I didn’t ever post it.
