This is The Gospel Code—where we uncover how the Gospel of Jesus Christ was preached from the very beginning. Today, we go to Egypt, and to the blood that changed everything. Let’s dive in.
📜 [SCRIPTURE: EXODUS 12:5–7, 12–13]
Exodus 12:5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
Exodus 12:6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
Exodus 12:7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
Exodus 12:12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.
Exodus 12:13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
✝️ POINT 1: JESUS IS THE LAMB
John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
The lamb was:
- Without blemish → Jesus was sinless.
- Killed at the appointed time → Jesus fulfilled prophecy.
- Shed blood to protect others → Jesus’ blood covers us from wrath.
🔥 POINT 2: GOD LOOKED AT THE BLOOD—NOT THE PEOPLE
Exodus 12:13 …when I see the blood, I will pass over you…
God didn’t look inside the house. He didn’t inspect their lifestyle.
He said, “When I see the blood.”
Salvation is not based on our performance—it’s based on Christ’s payment.
🩸 POINT 3: THE BLOOD IS NECESSARY
Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
No blood = no salvation.
Jesus had to die. There was no plan B.
💡 POINT 4: THE BLOOD MUST BE APPLIED
Just as the blood had to be applied to the door, today the blood must be applied to your soul—by faith.
1 Peter 1:18–19 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
🕊️ POINT 5: SALVATION IS INSTANT, NOT GRADUAL
The moment the blood was applied, the house was safe.
That’s what happens the moment you believe on Christ—you are safe from judgment.

John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
