The Ark and the Door: Salvation by One Way In

📜 [SCRIPTURE: GENESIS 6:13–16; 7:16]

Genesis 6:13–14
And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me… Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

Genesis 6:16
A window shalt thou make to the ark… the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof…

Genesis 7:16
And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the Lord shut him in.

🧱 [POINT 1: THERE WAS ONLY ONE DOOR]

There weren’t multiple doors. There was only one way into the ark.

John 10:9
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

Jesus is the only way of salvation.

⛵ [POINT 2: GOD SHUT THE DOOR]

Genesis 7:16
… and the Lord shut him in.

Salvation is permanent because God seals it.
No one inside the ark fell out.
No one outside could enter once it was closed.

Ephesians 4:30
…whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

⚠️ [POINT 3: EVERYONE ELSE DIED]

Genesis 7:21
And all flesh died that moved upon the earth…

Genesis 7:23
And every living substance was destroyed… and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

There were no exceptions. No fence sitters.
If you weren’t in—you perished.

✝️ [POINT 4: THE ARK REPRESENTS JESUS CHRIST]

1 Peter 3:20–21
…when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah… wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us… by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

Noah’s ark is a type of Christ—a picture of salvation in Him alone.

There’s only one way in—and the door won’t stay open forever.
If you’re not in Christ, you’re outside the ark. Believe now. Get in while there’s still time.
