At True Words Baptist Church, we stand firm on the King James Bible (KJV) as the inspired, preserved, and inerrant Word of God. As an Independent Fundamental Baptist Church, we uphold biblical doctrine without compromise, emphasizing the importance of salvation by grace through faith, soul-winning, and discipleship.

1. The Bible – Our Final Authority
The King James Bible, the final authority at True Words Baptist Church. The Word of God shines bright in West Louisville, Kentucky.
We believe that the King James Version (KJV) is the preserved Word of God in the English language. It is inspired, infallible, and completely sufficient for faith and practice.
📖 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” – 2 Timothy 3:16
✅ No modern versions – We reject the corruptions of modern Bible translations.
✅ The Bible is the final authority – Not traditions, opinions, or church councils.
✅ Every word is inspired and preserved – The pure Word of God for all generations.
2. The Trinity – One God in Three Persons
The Trinity – The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit shining bright in the streets of West Louisville, Kentucky.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: The Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit.
📖 “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” – 1 John 5:7
✅ God the Father – The Creator and Sustainer of all things.
✅ God the Son – Jesus Christ – Fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, sinless, crucified, buried, and bodily resurrected.
✅ God the Holy Spirit – The Comforter, Convictor of sin, and indwelling guide for believers.
3. Salvation – By Grace Through Faith Alone
Salvation is a free gift paid for by Jesus Christ alone as preached at True Words Baptist Church.
Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone. It is not of works, baptism, church membership, or any human effort.
📖 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” – Ephesians 2:8-9
✅ Faith in Jesus Christ alone saves – No works required.
✅ Once Saved, Always Saved – Salvation is eternal and cannot be lost.
✅ Repentance is believing in Christ – Turning from unbelief to faith in Jesus Christ.
4. Baptism – A Step of Obedience
A believer being baptized by full immersion out in the streets of West Louisville.
We believe that baptism is by full immersion in water, after salvation, as a public declaration of faith.
📖 “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized.” – Acts 2:41
✅ Only for believers – Not for infants or as part of salvation.
✅ Full immersion – The biblical model, representing Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.
✅ A command, not a requirement for salvation – Baptism is an act of obedience, not part of salvation.
5. The Local Church – Independent and Autonomous
True Words Baptist Church is a light in the darkness of West Louisville, KY.
We believe the local church is the body of Christ, independent and not subject to any denomination, convention, or outside authority.
📖 “And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.” – Colossians 1:18
✅ Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church – Not a pope, bishop, or governing board.
✅ The church is independent – Not part of any Baptist convention or association.
✅ Soul-winning is the priority – The mission of the church is to reach the lost with the Gospel.
6. The End Times – The Second Coming of Christ
God will pour out his wrath on the earth after the tribulation. The tribulation ends when the sun and moon are darkened at the sixth seal.
We believe in the literal, visible return of Jesus Christ, a post-tribulation, pre-wrath rapture, and the millennial reign of Christ on earth.
📖 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:16
✅ Post-Tribulation, Pre-Wrath Rapture – The church will go through tribulation before Christ’s return.
✅ Millennial Reign of Christ – Jesus will rule on earth for 1,000 years.
✅ Final Judgment – The unsaved will face eternal punishment in the Lake of Fire.
We do not believe in breaking fellowship with churches over beliefs on end times events. We believe the Bible is very clear in Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, 1 Thessalonians 4-5, and Revelation. Even the old KJV 1611 Bible has a note in the margin showing the KJV translators believed Matthew 24:31 was speaking of the rapture or the resurrection of the saints.
A thorough Bible study will show a post tribulation (Daniel’s 70th week is not equal to the Tribulation), pre-wrath rapture or resurrection.
7. Soul-Winning – Fulfilling the Great Commission
Church members from True Words Baptist Church are constantly out spreading the Gospel in Louisville, KY.
We believe that soul-winning is the mission of the church. Every believer is called to share the Gospel and win others to Christ.
📖 “And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.” – Acts 5:42
✅ Door-to-Door Evangelism – We actively preach the Gospel in our community.
✅ Salvation is for all – We reach people regardless of background or status.
✅ Every believer is a soul-winner – The Great Commission is for all Christians.
