Introduction to the Seven Feasts of the Lord
We have been going over the seven feasts of the Lord and details for all those seven feasts over the past several months at this Thursday Night Bible Study. I want to take a step back and go over a summary of the seven feasts of the Lord. After this, for example, next Bible Study, we will continue going over the details. We will start to see how God’s plan is unfolding.
What Are the Seven Feasts of the Lord?
What are the seven feasts of the Lord? Could you list them all off for me? These are important to know.
Please listen closely as I go over a summary of the seven feasts of the Lord, when they happen, and the purpose of each.
The Bible gives us the seven feasts of the Lord and clear instructions for each:
- Passover
- Feast of Unleavened Bread
- Firstfruits
- Feast of Weeks
- Blowing of the Trumpets
- Day of Atonement
- Feast of Tabernacles
Each feast has its own meaning, timing, and purpose, and they are connected to God’s work in the past, present, and future.
Seasons and the Seven Feasts
Remember, we have four seasons in every year. We have the spring or seedtime, summer, fall or harvest, and winter. Spring, summer, fall, and winter. This will help you to remember the seven feasts of the Lord.
The first feasts we see are the spring time feasts. The spring time feasts are the Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Firstfruits, and the Feast of Weeks. Remember, during the time of spring is the seedtime when fields are plowed and sowed. Late spring there is a first harvest.
There are no feasts in the Summer time or in the Winter time.
Then we move to the fall or harvest. The fall or harvest feasts are the Blowing of the Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles. There are just 3 groupings of feasts.
- Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, Feast of Firstfruits
- Feast of Weeks
- Blowing of the Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Feast of Tabernacles
The Timing of the Feasts of the Lord
1. The Passover
Now let’s go over when all of these feasts occur. I want you to remember these dates. The Passover is the first of seven feasts. Do you remember when the Passover occurs?
Leviticus 23:5
In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD’S passover.
So we can start to put a table together that will help you to remember the feasts of the Lord. That’s what I want to do here as we continue through the Scriptures.
# | Feast | Time of Year | Month | Date | Timing |
1 | Passover | Spring | 1st | 1/14 | At Even |
2 | |||||
3 | |||||
4 | |||||
5 | |||||
6 | |||||
7 |
2. The Feast of Unleavened Bread
Now, do you remember the second feast? It’s related to the Passover and it actually begins with the Passover.
Leviticus 23:5-7
In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD’S passover. 6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. 7 In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.
The feast of unleavened bread begins with the Passover and continues into the morning of the fifteenth. Seven days you must eat unleavened bread. The eating of unleavened bread begins at the Passover.
Exodus 12:18
In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.
The feast of unleavened bread begins on the fourteenth day of the first month at even with the passover and continues into the next day, the fifteenth day of the month. Unleavened bread is eaten until the 21st day of the month. Seven full days: 14th at even to 21st at even.
Ezekiel 45:21
In the first month, in the fourteenth day of the month, ye shall have the passover, a feast of seven days; unleavened bread shall be eaten.
So we continue to fill in our table. And you could call these differently and still be Biblically correct. For example, you could call the entire week the Passover. You could call it the Days of Unleavened Bread.
# | Feast | Season | Month | Dates | Timing |
1 | Passover | Spring | 1st | 1/14 | 14th at Even |
2 | Feast of Unleavened Bread | Spring | 1st | 1/14 – 1/21 | 14th at Even to 21st at Even |
3 | |||||
4 | |||||
5 | |||||
6 | |||||

3. The Firstfruits
Now, let’s move to the third feast. I want you to memorize these. What’s the third feast? It occurs during the Passover week or the days of unleavened bread.
Leviticus 23:10-11
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: 11 And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.
The timing of the Firstfruits occurs on the morrow after the Sabbath. This occurs the day after the weekly Sabbath during the Passover week. The Passover week is seven days. During those seven days, there is a weekly Sabbath which occurs on Saturday. So, the Sunday of that seven day week will be the Firstfruits.
# | Feast | Season | Month | Dates | Timing |
1 | Passover | Spring | 1st | 1/14 | 14th at Even |
2 | Feast of Unleavened Bread | Spring | 1st | 1/14 – 1/21 | 14th at Even to 21st at Even |
3 | Firstfruits | Spring | 1st | Variable | Day after Sabbath |
4 | |||||
5 | |||||
6 | |||||
7 |
The date of the feast of firstfruits depends on the date of the Sabbath for that week. The calendar date can change, but the Firstfruits always occurs on the day after the Sabbath.
4. The Feast of Weeks
Now, the next feast is numbered and occurs based on the timing of the firstfruits. Do you remember the name of the fourth feast? We haven’t been over this one in detail. We’ll be going over it in detail soon.
Leviticus 23:15-16
And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete: 16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD.
This feast is called the Feast of Weeks because we are counting seven sabbath days or seven weeks from the sabbath day that occurred during the Passover week. From that Sabbath day, we are counting seven sabbaths. 7 days times 7 weeks is 49 days. On the day after the sabbath, the 50th day, the feast of weeks will occur.
4 | Feast of Weeks | Spring | 3rd | Variable | 50 days from Sabbath |
5 | |||||
6 | |||||
7 |
Now, notice in the table so far. All of these first four feasts are in the Spring. The fourth feast, feast of weeks, is towards the end of Spring, though. The first three are closer to the beginning of the Spring and the fourth is towards the end of Spring.
Moving Forward to the Fall Feasts or Harvest Time
Now, we move forward in the year. Remember, the next feast is in the fall or harvest time. The Spring is seed time. The Fall is harvest time.
With that said, before I move to the fall or harvest feasts, please listen to this parable from the Lord Jesus Christ. God’s plan is revealed through the feasts of the Lord.
Matthew 13:24-27
Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: 25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. 26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. 27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
Matthew 13:28-30
He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? 29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
The spring time feasts have been fulfilled. The Passover happened, the feast of unleavened bread happened, the feast of firstfruits happened, the feast of weeks happened. Now, we’re waiting for the harvest. Let both grow together until the harvest. Let Paula White, a tare, a false preacher, grow together with the good stuff until the harvest.
5. The Blowing of Trumpets
Let the pope, the Catholic priests, the false prophets grow together with the wheat until the harvest. The final three feasts of the Lord happen in the fall or harvest time.
We are on the fifth of seven feasts. What’s the fifth feast or the next one that’s coming in this world? We don’t know when it’s coming, but it will be the next feast fulfilled in the timeline of end times events.
Leviticus 23:23-25
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. 25 Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. No servile work. Offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.
4 | Feast of Weeks | Spring | 3rd | Variable | 50 days from Sabbath |
5 | Blowing of Trumpets | Fall | 7th | 7/1 | 1st Day of the Month |

We will go over this in detail another day but the blowing of trumpets in the Bible is the sounding of an alarm.
Numbers 10:9
And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.
And remember this is the next feast to be fulfilled. The blowing of the trumpets is a feast giving an alarm. The end is coming. This hasn’t happened yet. I know it’s getting closer because time is moving on, but it hasn’t happened yet. We will teach, in detail, all of these things.
We are simply going over the seven feasts of the Lord so you know them. You will see how God’s plan is revealed through these feasts.
6. The Day of Atonement
The sixth feast also happens in the fall. It occurs just 10 days after the blowing of the trumpets. We’ve already taught many details of this next feast. Do you remember what the sixth feast of the Lord happens to be?
Leviticus 23:27-28
Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD. 28 And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God.
The sixth feast here, which will be fulfilled in the future, is the day of atonement. On the tenth day of the seventh month there shall be a day of atonement.
Leviticus 23:32
It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.
This is another specific feast day that is called out to begin at even. From the ninth day of the month at even, from even to even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath. We continue to fill in the table that I want you to memorize.
4 | Feast of Weeks | Spring | 3rd | Variable | 50 days from Sabbath |
5 | Blowing of Trumpets | Fall | 7th | 7/1 | 1st Day of the Month |
6 | Day of Atonement | Fall | 7th | 7/9 – 7/10 | 9th at Even to 10th at Even |
7 |
The only two special days in the entire Bible that begin at even are the Passover and the Day of Atonement. They are specifically called out to start at even on a particular calendar day.
7. The Feast of Tabernacles
Let’s move to the seventh and final feast. What’s this one called? It’s the last one. It also happens in the seventh month or the fall or the harvest time. Harvest time is great for saved people and horrible for the unsaved.
Leviticus 23:34
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD.
Leviticus 23:39
Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.
So this one is a different than the other. This is called the feast of tabernacles. There will be a feast for seven days.
And there is a last and final eighth day. The number eight looks like an infinity symbol or forever. Remember that. We will teach all the details for these days using the Bible.
4 | Feast of Weeks | Spring | 3rd | Variable | 50 days from Sabbath |
5 | Blowing of Trumpets | Fall | 7th | 7/1 | 1st Day of the Month |
6 | Day of Atonement | Fall | 7th | 7/9 – 7/10 | 9th at Even to 10th at Even |
7 | Feast of Tabernacles | Fall | 7th | 7/15 – 7/22 | 15th Day of the Month |

- The Firstfruits was fulfilled by the resurrection of Jesus Christ in his new body.
- The Feast of Weeks is fulfilled at Pentecost with the harvest of 3,000 souls.
- The Blowing of the Trumpets will be fulfilled in the future. It is an alarm.
- The Day of Atonement will be fulfilled in the future. There will be a resurrection.
- The Feast of Tabernacles will be fulfilled in the future. One day we will dwell with God.
Now, please listen, this Bible Study is already posted on the website. They get posted to the site right before the service begins. They show up on the Sermons page. You can go there and study that table of the feasts of the Lord. It will be there on the site.
God’s Plan is Revealed Through The Scriptures About the Feasts
We will continue studying the seven Feasts of the Lord in detail because God’s plan is revealed through these feasts. So, we can study how God fulfilled the Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, and Feast of Weeks. From there, we can apply how the final feasts are fulfilled.
We can look into the future with the words of the Bible and know what’s going to happen. We might not get all the exact details correct because these things haven’t happened yet, but we’ll use the Bible and ask the Holy Spirit to guide us in these things.
I hope you enjoyed tonight’s Bible Study on the Seven Feasts of the Lord: God’s Plan Revealed.
Let’s pray.
