[2] The title of the sermon today is “REVELATION CHAPTER 11.”

The Seventh Angel Hasn’t Sounded The Seventh Trumpet Yet

  • You have to remember where we are in Revelation Chapter 11.
  • The SEVENTH ANGEL with the SEVENTH TRUMPET hasn’t sounded yet.
  • The sixth angel with the sixth trumpet sounded in Revelation Chapter 9.

[3] Revelation 9:13-14 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.

  • Trumpet 5, 6, and 7 are the tree WOES of God’s wrath that He’s pouring out on the Earth.
  • And the Rapture or Resurrection has already happened so God’s not pouring out His wrath on His people.
  • Trumpet 5 is the first woe with the smoke and locusts out of the bottomless pit.
  • Trumpet 6 is the 4 angels beings loosed from the Euphrates. They are loosed to slay the third part of men.
  • We’re between the 6th and 7th trumpet. The 7th trumpet is going to sound in Revelation Chapter 11.

We went through Revelation Chapter 10 if you remember in great detail.

  • We see a mighty angel from heaven stand with one foot on the earth and one foot on the sea.
  • We talked about the MYSTERY OF GOD being complete when the SEVENTH ANGEL sounds.
  • We talked about the mystery of God being that ALL PEOPLE are saved through faith on Jesus Christ.
  • There’s a physical seed of Israel and a spiritual seed of Israel.
  • The spiritual seed of Israel are all those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. ALL ARE SAVED who believe.
  • The children of God aren’t the physical seed of Israel. The spiritual seed are the children of God.

So, when Jesus Christ came to earth do you remember what He told some of the people?

  • He didn’t come into this world to condemn them. He didn’t come to destroy them.
  • He didn’t come to judge them. Why did Jesus Christ come? That’s part of the mystery of God.
  • We talked about that mystery in Revelation Chapter 10. But watch this.

[4] John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

  • Some false preachers will say, “See, Jesus didn’t come to condemn the world. That means sin is okay.”
  • “That means we should love everyone no matter what because Jesus did the same thing.”
  • “Jesus loved everyone no matter what.” That’s what false preachers will say. Why?
  • They say this because they don’t understand why Jesus came the first time.
  • They don’t know the mystery of God. Jesus came the first time to SETUP A SPIRITUAL KINGDOM.
  • All those who believe are a part of the SPIRITUAL KINGDOM OF GOD.

[5] Matthew 3:1-2 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, 2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

[6] Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

  • The kingdom of heaven is a SPIRITUAL KINGDOM for those who trust on Jesus as their Savior.
  • That’s why JESUS CAME the first time. He didn’t come to destroy or condemn the world physically.
  • He didn’t come to judge the world at His first coming. He didn’t come to destroy the world.

So, we’re in the Book of Revelation. We see the SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST.

  • This second coming is not like the first coming.
  • The first time He didn’t come to destroy the unsaved or destroy the world.
  • Now, He’s coming to physically destroy the world and physically setup His kingdom on earth.
  • So the false preachers who say that Jesus loves everyone no matter what aren’t getting it.

Jesus Begins To Destroy The Unsaved

Jesus is going to destroy the unsaved people in Revelation. He’s already doing it.

  • People still won’t change their mind and believe God after HIS WRATH is being poured out.
  • HIS WRATH starts with the first trumpet. Jesus doesn’t love everyone unconditionally.
  • Preachers who say that are false preachers who don’t understand the mystery of God.
  • All those who BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST are the children of God.
  • That’s conditional love. Jesus says, you must believe on me and then you’re saved.
  • Then, He protects your soul from sin. Not your body. Your soul is protected.
  • Your flesh and soul/spirit is a picture of that MYSTERY OF GOD.
  • Your soul is saved but obviously you still mess up and sin in your flesh.
  • With that, let’s get started in Revelation Chapter 11 verse 1.

[7] Revelation 11:1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.

  • So that same mighty angel from Chapter 10 now gives JOHN, the author of Revelation, a reed like a rod.
  • The angel tells John to rise up and measure the temple of God, the altar, and them that worship therein.

[8] Revelation 11:2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

  • So, the court outside of the temple should not be measured by John.
  • Why? It is given unto the Gentiles and they shall tread the holy city under foot 42 months.
  • 42 months is 1,260 days with 30-day months. So notice it’s very clear and says forty and two months.

[9] Revelation 11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

  • So now we see that TWO WITNESSES will prophesy 1,260 days. THREESCORE = 60 days. ONE SCORE = 20.
  • The Gentiles are going to tread the Holy City for 42 months and the 2 witnesses prophesy for 1,260 days.
  • This is the exact same amount of time and it shows us that those 2 things are happening at the same time.

So, we know that Daniel’s 70th week is a 7-year period of time.

  • This 7-year period of time includes the Tribulation, the Rapture, and God’s wrath.
  • In the exact middle of Daniel’s 70th week or 7 years, we see the Abomination of Desolation.
  • How do you know Daniel’s 70th week is a 7-year period?
  • Because Revelation Chapter 11 is giving us a 3-1/2 year period of time.
  • The witnesses will prophesy and the Gentiles will tread the holy city under foot for 3-1/2 years.

[10] Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

  • In the middle of Daniel’s 70th week is when the anti-Christ enters into the temple and says that HE IS GOD.
  • This is called the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION. The anti-Christ receives a deadly wound and recovers.
  • He says that he is God, but he’s actually the anti-Christ. That is the Abomination of Desolation.
  • It happens in the MIDST or MIDDLE of the 7-year period. You can see that on your timelines.

So, when we study Revelation Chapter 11, are we in the first half of the 7-years or the second half?

  • We’re in between the 6th and 7th trumpets so we know we’re in the second half of the 7-years.
  • The 1,260 days or 42 months or 3-1/2 years MUST be from the Abomination of Desolation until the mystery of God is complete.
  • Remember, when the SEVENTH TRUMPET sounds, the mystery of God is complete.
  • That’s what we studied in Revelation Chapter 10.

These Things Begin At The Abomination Of Desolation

So, the Gentiles treading the holy city under foot for 42 months and the 2 witnesses prophesying begin at the Abomination of Desolation and end after 3-1/2 years.

  • And it clearly happens in the second half since we’re in Revelation Chapter 11. Do you see that?
  • That’s why the timeline you have shows the 2 witnesses and the anti-Christ continuing for 42 months.
  • Plus, there’s other Scripture to support all of this.
  • I don’t want to fly through Revelation 11 verse 2 quickly, though.

[11] Revelation 11:2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

  • Now, let’s look at something from the Book of Luke.
  • When you first see Revelation 11 verse 2 on the screen there, you might be confused.
  • What does this mean? So we look to the Bible to explain more.
  • We find it in the Book of Luke Chapter 21 starting with verse 20.

[12] Luke 21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

  • So it even mentions the DESOLATION there. It says the desolation is nigh or near.

[13] Luke 21:21-22 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. 22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

  • Once we see the Abomination of Desolation, the GREAT TRIBULATION begins.
  • The DAYS OF VENGEANCE is what verse 22 says.

[14] Luke 21:23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

  • That sounds just like the GREAT TRIBULATION that we see in Matthew 24.
  • And then watch this next verse talk about Jerusalem being tread down by the Gentiles.

[15] Luke 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

  • Jerusalem will be trodden down for 42 months until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
  • The times of the Gentiles being filled are at the end of the trumpets sounding.
  • But that 42 month time period starts at the Abomination of Desolation.
  • Then we see the Rapture, the Lord’s Day, and God pouring out His wrath during the next 42 months.
  • Luke 21:24 and Revelation 11:2 are talking about the exact same event.

[16] Revelation 11:2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

  • I hope you see that connection there today. Luke 21:24 and Revelation 11:2.
  • Why would God allow Jerusalem to be trodden down under foot?
  • Because they JEWS in Jerusalem today HATE GOD. They reject the Lord Jesus Christ.

[17] 1 John 2:22-23 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

  • So the wrath of God will be upon them the Bible says.
  • WHOSOEVER won’t believe on Jesus will see the wrath of God.
  • It doesn’t matter if they physically came from JACOB or ISRAEL.

The Rapture Is AFTER The Abomination Of Desolation

When you study Luke 21, notice that this proves the Rapture is after the Abomination of Desolation.

  • There’s so much proof that the Rapture is AFTER THE TRIBULATION and before God’s wrath is poured out.
  • We left off in Luke 21 verse 25. Let’s read this. The Abomination of Desolation just happened.
  • There’s the great tribulation. And then watch what happens.

[18] Luke 21:25-27 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

  • So Jesus Christ HIMSELF just gave us the exact order we see in Revelation again.

[19] Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

  • The Rapture or Resurrection is the DAY OF REDEMPTION.
  • That’s when you get a new body without sin. No more war within yourself to do good.
  • You won’t have that fleshly desire to do what’s best for you all the time.
  • I want you to see something else about this 42-month period of time in relation to the Rapture.

God clearly makes a distinction between the Jews in Jerusalem and the SAVED people in the Bible.

  • Matthew 24, Luke 21, and Mark 13 all teach this.
  • The saved people will be raptured away after the Great Tribulation.
  • Their tribulation period is going to be cut short. Why? So all the saved people aren’t killed on earth.

[20] Matthew 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

  • But, the 42 months that Jerusalem is trodden under foot isn’t cut short.
  • It’s going to happen for 42 months. Those Jews who won’t believe on Jesus are going to suffer.
  • They’re going to experience God’s wrath for a few years. It won’t be cut short for them.
  • SAVED people will be rescued by God cutting short the Great Tribulation.
  • How are the saved people rescued? Through the second coming of Jesus Christ.
  • After the Rapture or second coming, then God’s wrath is poured out on earth, on the unbelievers.

The Two Witnesses Are On Earth Prophesying Before The Great Tribulation Begins

So, the 2 witnesses will be on the earth prophesying when the Great Tribulation begins.

  • SAVED people who are alive at this time will see the 2 witnesses for a short period of time.
  • Once the GREAT TRIBULATION is over, the sun and moon are darkened, and Jesus comes in the clouds.
  • The saved people are taken up. The 2 witnesses and the 144,000 will be on Earth preaching the Gospel.
  • How long will they be preaching the Gospel? Until the seventh trumpet sounds.
  • Then, the Gospel isn’t preached any more and Daniel’s 70th week is almost complete.
  • Now, let’s go back to Revelation Chapter 11 verse 4.

[21] Revelation 11:4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

  • That verse is talking about the 2 witnesses that will be left on earth for 42 months to preach.
  • And just like us when we go Soul Winning, people won’t like those 2 witnesses.
  • They’ll want them dead. The saved people are gone from the earth for most of that time.
  • Imagine that. Imagine how angry people will be with those 2 witnesses. They will HATE them.
  • But they are there to preach the Gospel and maybe some left will get saved.
  • Revelation 11:4 is a reference back to Zechariah Chapter 4.

[22] Zechariah 4:11-14 Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof? 12 And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves? 13 And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord. 14 Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.

  • These 2 witness will bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost world.
  • They will stand out like candlesticks in that period of time. Imagine how dark the world will be.
  • They are the 2 anointed ones that STAND BY THE LORD during that time.
  • Think about the tabernacle in the Book of Exodus. You had candlesticks there, right?

[23] Exodus 25:31 And thou shalt make a candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work shall the candlestick be made: his shaft, and his branches, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, shall be of the same.

  • This is the candlestick that is placed in the TABERNACLE.
  • That’s the first time that word candlestick is used in the BIBLE.
  • Have you ever noticed or seen the layout of the tabernacle? See this.

[24]

  • In the Holy Place, you have a candlestick and then you have a table with SHEWBREAD.
  • The word of God is represented by the BREAD. We need the word of God to LIVE every day.
  • What would the candlestick do inside the tabernacle? There aren’t any windows.
  • It would light up the WORD OF GOD. It would light up the table with the SHEWBREAD.

[25] Matthew 5:14-16 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

  • These 2 witnesses are obviously going to be preaching the WORD OF GOD.
  • We need to be doing the same as much as we can. And what does that mean?
  • We don’t HIDE THE WORD OF GOD under a BUSHEL. Do you understand what that means?
  • We don’t pick and choose the Scripture we like and ignore the rest of it.
  • We don’t take out Malachi Chapter 2 because it’s offensive.

[26] Malachi 2:1-3 And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. 2 If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. 3 Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you away with it.

  • Yes, God HIMSELF says He will curse people, corrupt their seed, and spread dung on their faces.
  • But do you ever hear that preached in church? I never have. Well, now you have.
  • In other words, you don’t HIDE the word of God. You love it. You get it all out there to the world.
  • Preachers today are scared to preach the word of God.
  • Our last church didn’t like me preaching the word of God.
  • The Pastor said, “Well, your sermon was very difficult to listen to. That was tough to hear.”
  • Why? Because I used the Scripture he won’t ever touch? He’s preaching a different god.
  • He preaches a god that loves everyone no matter what. The God in this Bible says different.

Don’t Hide The Word Of God In Churches

STOP concealing the WORD OF GOD in churches!!!

  • They just want to preach the parts that sound good to everyone.
  • They want to put the offensive parts of the Bible under a bushel.
  • SHINE THE LIGHT on the sins of this world. That’s what helps us get better.
  • When preachers hide certain parts of the word of God, they are ashamed of it.
  • They are false preachers who are scared to offend someone with the word of God.

[27] Luke 9:26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels.

  • That’s Jesus speaking right there. Are we going to be ashamed of the word of God? I’m not.
  • I will preach what GOD says in this Bible. If you don’t like it, you better examine yourself.

[28] Romans 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

  • If a preacher is ashamed of what the Bible says and won’t preach it, why is he even there?
  • He’s not doing anyone any good. Does he even have the HOLY GHOST? He’s ashamed of the Bible?
  • That’s what people need to wake up and see. “Oh no, the preacher said something offensive!!!”
  • “He actually used the Bible in Church!!! What are we going to do with him???”
  • Let’s continue in Revelation Chapter 11 verse 5.

[29] Revelation 11:5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

  • We’re talking about the 2 witnesses. Why would the UNSAVED people on earth want to hurt them?
  • Well, you tell me. When I preached the word of God in a church, the preacher didn’t want me there.
  • Why is that? Because I preached that women should stay silent in the church?
  • I didn’t make that up. The Bible is very clear. Because I preached that Elisha looked upon children and bears came out of the woods and tore the children in pieces?
  • I chose the offensive parts of the Bible and his response told me everything I needed to know.
  • He doesn’t believe on the God of this Bible. He’s made up his own god.
  • And when you preach the TRUE WORD OF GOD, people won’t like it. They will hate you.

The Two Witnesses Have Fire Coming Out Of Their Mouths

But notice what the 2 witnesses have:

  • FIRE PROCEEDETH OUT OF THEIR MOUTH and devours their enemies.
  • If someone tries to hurt them, he will be killed by fire proceeding out of their mouth.

[30] Revelation 11:6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

  • In other words, don’t mess with the 2 witnesses.
  • They can stop the rain. They can turn water into blood. They can send plagues as often as they want.
  • We don’t have that power to destroy them immediately when people hate us over the word of God.
  • But we do have GOD backing us up with HIS WORD.
  • Watch what Jesus says after He tells us to PREACH in Matthew Chapter 10.

[31] Matthew 10:27-28 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. 28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

  • He tells you to PREACH HIS WORD. And then He tells you immediately not to fear man.
  • Why? Because man will immediately persecute you. And guess where it comes from first?
  • From the so-called “Christians” around here. Preach the BIBLE, and they hate you.
  • Doesn’t that tell you something about these other churches?
  • When I preach, I don’t change the word of God. I don’t pick and choose what I want.
  • I do my best to take the entire Bible as a whole and understand it all together. God knows that.
  • I don’t fear any of those false preachers AT ALL. Don’t ever fear man. Why? Because Jesus says so.
  • He’s there with you. Have no fear. Preach the word.

[32] 2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

  • Now, let’s go back to Revelation Chapter 11 verse 7.

[33] Revelation 11:7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

  • The 2 witnesses finish their testimony after 1,260 days.
  • At the end of those days, the BEAST who is the ANTI-CHRIST, will make war with the 2 witnesses.
  • The ANTI-CHRIST will kill the 2 witnesses.

[34] Revelation 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

  • Where was the Lord Jesus Christ crucified? The great city right there is JERUSALEM.
  • Jesus was crucified in Golgotha or Calvary, which is a part of the great city Jerusalem.
  • Notice that the current city of Jerusalem is spiritually called SODOM AND EGYPT.
  • Do you see that? The current Jerusalem in this world is not good.
  • It’s not filled with people who love Jesus. It’s filled with people who HATE Jesus.

[35] Revelation 11:9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.

  • The anti-Christ or beast kills the 2 witnesses.
  • People of different kindreds, tongues, and nations shall see their dead bodies.
  • That’s probably talking about TV, Internet, web cams. They will see them from all over the world.
  • And they won’t bury them. They just leave them out on the street.
  • How long? 3-1/2 days they will lay there dead.

[36] Revelation 11:10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.

  • All the people left on earth are so happy they are dead.
  • Remember Moses and the plagues? The people were blaming it all on him. It wasn’t him.
  • These people are sending gifts to each other and having parties over the death of these 2 witnesses.
  • Why? Because they were TORMENTED by God’s 2 witnesses.
  • Remember, they could breathe fire. Stop the rain. Cause plagues.
  • The anti-Christ is most likely a HUGE HERO now, right? He just killed their enemy.
  • They think everything is going to be good now.

[37] Revelation 11:11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.

  • After the 3-1/2 days are complete, they ARISE FROM THE DEAD with the SPIRIT OF LIFE from God.
  • They stand on their feet. GREAT FEAR falls upon the people who see them arise from the dead.

[38] Revelation 11:12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

  • The 2 witnesses are completely finished on earth.
  • A voice from heaven says, “COME UP HITHER.” They ascend into heaven in a cloud.
  • Their enemies watch it all happen.

[39] Revelation 11:13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

  • We see a GREAT EARTHQUAKE the exact hour that the 2 witnesses are taken up into heaven.
  • 1/10 of the city falls during the earthquake. That’s a big earthquake.
  • 7,000 men are killed in the earthquake. The remaining gave glory to the God of heaven.

Who Are The Two Witnesses?

So, that’s the end of the 2 witnesses in Revelation Chapter 11.

  • Who are these 2 witnesses? We don’t know 100% for sure. But there are clues.
  • Most likely it’s going to be Moses and Elijah. Can you imagine Moses and Elijah preaching in this world?
  • I would LOVE to see that one day with my own eyes. Wouldn’t you?
  • Fire breathing preachers. Mess with them and you get fire out of their mouths.
  • Why does it look like Moses and Elijah will be those 2 witnesses?

[40] Matthew 16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

  • Then 6 days after this we see Jesus take Peter, James, and John up into a mountain.
  • And they are going to see a VISION of Jesus coming in HIS KINGDOM and what it looks like.
  • That’s the last verse in Matthew 16. Let’s see the first verse in Matthew 17 because it continues.

[41] Matthew 17:1-3 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, 2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. 3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.

  • Who do we see there in this VISION of Jesus coming in HIS KINGDOM?
  • We see Moses and Elijah there. And remember, those 2 witnesses will be there when Jesus comes back.
  • They will be there on earth at the Abomination of Desolation BEFORE Jesus comes in the clouds.
  • So, that’s not 100% proof that the 2 witnesses are Elijah and Moses, but it’s a clue.
  • What else do we see in the Bible? How did Moses die?

[42] Deuteronomy 34:5-6 So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. 6 And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Beth-peor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day.

  • The Bible says that the LORD buried Moses. No man buried him. No man knows where he was buried.
  • This is different from anything else we see in the Bible.

[43] Jude 9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

  • What’s the big deal about the body of Moses? There must be something very important there.
  • Maybe it’s because Moses is going to be one of those 2 witnesses. Still not 10% proof.
  • What about Elijah? How did he die? He didn’t die. He was taken up in a chariot.

[44] 2 Kings 2:11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

  • Enoch also was taken up by the Lord so some people think it’s Enoch and Elijah.
  • But, I think there’s strong proof that it’s MOSES AND ELIJAH.
  • What else is there? What about the miracles and signs that the 2 witnesses perform on Earth?
  • What do we see the 2 witnesses doing in Revelation Chapter 11?

[45] Revelation 11:6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

  • They have power to stop the rain. Power to turn water to blood. Power to smite the earth with plagues.
  • The first plague in Exodus Chapter 7 that Moses does is turning the water to blood.

[46] Exodus 7:20 And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.

  • Then we see that Elijah was able to stop it from raining.

[47] 1 Kings 17:1 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

  • The book of James gives us more information on that Scripture from 1 Kings 17.

[48] James 5:17-18 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

  • It rained not for 3-1/2 years! How long will the 2 witnesses be on earth?
  • 3-1/2 years. So it’s still not 100% that it’s Moses and Elijah because it doesn’t say it directly.
  • But my guess is Moses and Elijah because of the Scripture I shared with you there.
  • Let’s continue in Revelation Chapter 11 verse 14.
  • Verse 14 starts a new paragraph. And it’s clear that we’re moving on from the 2 witnesses.

[49] Revelation 11:14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.

  • So again, the second woe happened with the SIXTH ANGEL AND TRUMPET sounding.
  • “Behold, the third woe cometh quickly.” And this will be the third woe.
  • The third WOE must be very serious. And it hasn’t happened yet.
  • So now, we move back to the TRUMPETS and the ANGELS sounding the trumpets.
  • After the sixth trumpet sounds in Revelation 9, we get this extra information between trumpets.
  • Now, we’re back on track with the trumpet judgements.

The Seventh Angel Sounds The Seventh Trumpet

[50] Revelation 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

  • Seventh angel sounds. Great voices in heaven. What were they saying?
  • “The kingdoms of this world ARE BECOME the kingdoms of our Lord, and of HIS CHRIST.”
  • “And HE shall reign for ever and ever.”
  • “ARE BECOME” means this JUST NOW happened.
  • Now, the kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of the Lord. His reign is beginning.
  • The mystery of God is complete and the reign of Jesus Christ for 1,000 years is beginning.

[51] Revelation 11:16-17 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, 17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.

  • Now we see the 24 elders falling down on their faces and worshipping God.
  • “We give thanks, O Lord God Almighty.” Why?
  • Because you have taken to thee great power and hast reigned.
  • The THIRD WOE still hasn’t happened in Revelation Chapter 11. We’re still looking to see what it is.

[52] Revelation 11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

  • The nations were angry. Why? Because they are going to be judged.
  • People don’t like to be judged. John 3:16 used to be the most popular Bible verse. Now, it’s this one.

[53] Matthew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

  • But people don’t get the context of that verse. Read the whole chapter. Read the whole book of Matthew.

[54] Revelation 11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

  • You’ll see “THY WRATH IS COME” in verse 18 there.
  • God’s wrath is continuing to be poured out. We’re at the end of His wrath but it’s not over yet.
  • We still haven’t seen the final and THIRD WOE. What is it?
  • We’ll find out in the last verse, but look what it says in verse 18.

THE JUDGEMENT is shown in this verse. When does that judgement occur?

  • Remember where we are on the timeline.
  • The judgement comes at the end after the seventh trumpet has sounded.
  • The judgement doesn’t come at the RAPTURE. It’s very clear right there.
  • God is going to judge at the end of the world. Not at the Rapture.
  • Let’s look at the final verse of Revelation Chapter 11

[55] Revelation 11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

  • The temple of God is opened in heaven.
  • You get to see into the temple of God, and what’s there? The ark of HIS TESTAMENT.
  • Remember, the ark of the testament was always in the MOST HOLY PLACE.

[56] Exodus 26:34 And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.

  • That tabernacle and the ark of His testament are a picture of what we see in heaven with the temple of God.
  • The ark of the testament is right there in the temple of God in heaven today.
  • What’s the last part of verse 19 say?

[57] Revelation 11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

  • The final woe is lightnings, voices, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail.
  • You might just read over that and say, “Yeah, that isn’t that bad.”
  • But remember, this is the THIRD AND FINAL WOE. Lightning, thunder, earthquake, and great hail.
  • This will be a storm like the world has never seen before.

Revelation Chapter 12 Goes Back In Time

After Revelation Chapter 11, we see that Jesus Christ is born in Chapter 12.

  • This is a key to understanding that Revelation Chapter 12 tells us the entire story again.
  • Revelation 1 through 11 gives us details but then Chapter 12 starts over again.
  • We get more details on what’s happening.
  • When Jesus is born, that’s a queue that we’re moving back in time.

The 7 trumpets of God’s wrath that we see in the first half of Revelation match up with the 7 vials that are poured out in the second half of Revelation.

  • So, if we want to learn more about this THIRD WOE at trumpet 7, we look to the SEVENTH VIAL.
  • Let’s see what Revelation Chapter 16 says about the SEVENTH VIAL.

[58] Revelation 16:17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

  • And you’ll see how the seventh vial matches up perfectly with the seventh trumpet.
  • A voice comes and says, “It is done.” You see similar in Revelation Chapter 11 that we just studied.

[59] Revelation 16:18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.

  • Do you see that? It matches perfectly with the seventh trumpet.
  • “Voices, thunders, lightnings, great earthquake.”
  • “So mighty an earthquake and so great,” the Bible says.
  • I’ve never been in a huge earthquake but I felt a smaller one.
  • And it scared me. It was only a 4.1 earthquake that lasted for 10 seconds.
  • But I could feel the power coming through the ground.
  • And that’s nothing like that final great earthquake.
  • We’ve had big earthquakes on earth, but the Bible says you haven’t seen anything like this one.

[60] Revelation 16:19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

  • Jerusalem is divided into 3 parts. The cities of the nations all fall. God’s wrath is being completed.
  • And you don’t want any part in the finishing act of God’s wrath.

[61] Revelation 16:20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

  • That’s pretty serious. Every island is gone. All the mountains are not found.
  • Do you think that WOE might be scary? Oh yeah.

[62] Revelation 16:21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

  • Great hail comes out of heaven that weighs a talent. How much is that in pounds?
  • From what I’ve read, a talent is about 75 pounds. Think of a 75 pound HAIL stones coming down.
  • There’s not much that’s going to protect you from 75 pound hail stones.
  • That’s amazing. I don’t want any part of that. And yet, what happens?
  • “Men continue to blaspheme God.” They still won’t turn to God and believe what He says.
  • That’s amazing. Let’s humble ourselves before God and make sure we’re saved.

You don’t want to go through God’s wrath. Just believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • Put all your trust and confidence on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you’re saved eternally.
  • You’ll be watching those WOE’s from heaven.
  • And you don’t want to be watching your family and friends go through that either.
  • So preach the GOSPEL to them. Make sure they know it.

Let’s pray.
