🎥 Baptist Bold: Ask a Pastor

📅 Episode 16 – Saturday: Culture & Christianity
Question: “Is It a Sin for Christians to Support Pride Month?”

🎬 Intro Script:

Welcome to Baptist Bold: Ask a Pastor—where truth isn’t filtered, and the Bible has the final word. I’m Pastor Joshua Tapp from True Words Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. Let’s get into today’s question…

📖 Answer:

The rainbow flags are everywhere. The slogans sound nice: “love is love,” “equality,” “tolerance.”

But the real question is this: Can a Bible-believing Christian support Pride Month and still walk with God?

The answer is no. And the reason is crystal clear in Scripture.

1. Pride Month Celebrates What God Calls an Abomination

📖 Leviticus 18:22“Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”

God doesn’t call it “pride.” He calls it perversion.
When you wave that flag or wear those colors, you are siding with rebellion against the Creator.

2. Pride Itself Is a Sin—Let Alone Pride in Sin

📖 Proverbs 16:5“Every one that is proud in heart is abomination to the LORD…”

It’s not just about the sin—they’re proud of it.
They march in defiance. They mock God openly. They flaunt what He calls vile.

And Christians who support that aren’t “loving”—they’re compromising.

3. True Love Tells the Truth

📖 Ephesians 4:15“…speaking the truth in love…”

Love doesn’t lie. Love doesn’t excuse sin. Love doesn’t redefine righteousness to fit the culture.

If you love your neighbor—you tell them the truth:
Without Christ, and without repentance toward God, they will perish.

4. Supporting Pride Month Is Fellowship with Darkness

📖 Ephesians 5:11“Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”

To support Pride Month is to stand with darkness, not light.
You’re not “being kind”—you’re being cowardly.

Jesus said in Matthew 12:30“He that is not with me is against me…”

5. Real Christians Can’t Be Neutral

📖 James 4:4“Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”

There’s no neutral ground. You either stand with truth—or you fall with the world.

Wearing the rainbow. Posting affirmations. Staying silent when your job demands celebration.
That’s not love. That’s spiritual treason.

🎯 Bottom Line:

Yes—it is a sin for Christians to support Pride Month.

Not just because of what it promotes—but because of what it rejects:

  • God’s design
  • God’s authority
  • God’s Gospel

📖 Romans 1:32“…they which commit such things are worthy of death… and have pleasure in them that do them.”

If you support it—you share in its guilt.
