The title of the sermon: “GOD CALLED ME.”
Have you ever heard someone say, “God called me to do this or that?” “God called me to be a pastor. God called me to be a missionary. God called me to love everyone.” “God called me to hate no one. God called me to be a teacher in a public school.” According to the churches today and the so-called “Christians” today, God calls people to do many things.
And many of these so-called callings of God are directly against the words of the Bible. God gave us the freedom to make our own choices, and we make them. And many of those choices are against God’s words. But then we say, “God called me to do it.” I would be very careful out there saying that God called you to do something against His words.
God Calls Us To Serve Him
Isaiah 49:1-3
Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. 2 And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me; 3 And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.
Verse 1 there says, “The LORD hath called me from the womb.” “He hath made my mouth like a sharp sword.” We are to preach God’s actual words. Do you know what His actual words aren’t? They aren’t lies that you run your mouth about. Spewing lies out of your mouth is not what the Lord has called you to do.
Proverbs 30:5-6
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. 6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
Putting your trust in God’s words does not equal adding to His words or changing His words. If someone is attempting to set the exact timing of the rapture or second coming of Jesus, they don’t trust God’s words.
Matthew 24:32-34
Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
No One Knows The Day And Hour
Matthew 24:35-37
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Verse 36 in Matthew Chapter 24 says, “But of that day and hour knoweth no man.” What day? The day of the coming of the Son of man, Jesus Christ. This is the day of His second coming. We know the rapture and the second coming are on the same day. The Bible says so over and over again. Now, if you trust the words of the Bible, why would you attempt to set a day and hour?
People spend their entire life attempting to do this and act as if they are doing the works of God. They will even say that God has called them specifically to do this. But we know God hasn’t. So, they tell a lie about God. God did not call them to do this. They wasted their life. Every moment spent trying to set a day and time for the second coming or rapture is a waste of time.
The Calling Of Pastor And Marriage
We know the signs to look for so we look for the signs. We’ll know when it’s getting near. We’ll know when it’s even at the door. But we will never know the day or the hour. “But of that day and hour knoweth no man.” That’s the end of it. “But, I still think God has called me to set a date and time for the rapture.” Listen closely. NO HE HASN’T CALLED YOU TO DO THIS.
Here’s another example. There are many men out there saying that God has called them to be a pastor. “God called me to be a pastor.” They say these things over and over again. And they preach lies. Many of them have never read the Bible through once. These men have had more than one wife. These men have no children. They do not rule their house. They don’t even meet the qualifications of a bishop or pastor in the Bible. Same thing with deacons.
1 Timothy 3:1-4
This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; 4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
The husband of one wife. Not one wife at a time. ONE WIFE. Never divorced. A current husband of one wife. Sober. Drunkards can’t be pastors. He must have children. You can’t have your children in subjection if you don’t have any children. “One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity.”
Women Are Not Pastors
It’s pretty simple. God didn’t call you to be a pastor if you aren’t married with children. God didn’t call you to be a pastor if you are a woman. Many women say, “God called me to be a pastor.” Joyce Meyer is one of these disobedient women who lead other women to disobey God’s words. She says to women, “Don’t ever let anyone tell you that God cannot or will not use you just because you are a woman.”
“If God has called you to leadership, you should lead. If He has called you into ministry, you should minister.” “If He has called you to be a missionary, then you should do missions.” “If He has called you to business or as a homemaker, you should boldly be all that He has called you to be.” Then she commands the women to pray this prayer: “Show me where you want me to be.”
Now, knowing the Bible very well, most everything she says goes against the word of God. You need to learn to recognize these things from false prophets and false preachers. It’s easy to see. She says this to women, “If God has called you to leadership.” Listen, that will NEVER happen. If we’re talking about being a pastor, deacon, or leader in a church, GOD WILL NEVER CALL A WOMAN to do this.
Clear Qualifications From The Bible
Titus 1:6-9
If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly. 7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; 8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; 9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
I’m not sure why this is so difficult to understand for so-called “Christians.” “The husband of one wife.” Is that hard to understand? It’s not. “Having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.” Their children can make mistakes. They aren’t perfect. But the pastor must correct them quickly and get them back on the right track.
Women In The Church
“A lover of GOOD MEN.” A pastor doesn’t love anyone no matter what. If a man can’t HOLD FAST the faithful word as he hath been taught, then he can’t be a pastor for God. If a so-called pastor ever says that women can be pastors, he’s not a pastor for God. God didn’t call these people to be pastors that say He did. They do not hold His words.
Titus 2:1-3
But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: 2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. 3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
Aged Women Teaching Right Things
Here’s what God has called you to do if you fit in these categories. He calls you to do what He said to do. It doesn’t matter what you want. Here’s His calling. Speak the things which become sound doctrine. We use His words. God called aged men to be sober. Not beer drinkers. Not alcoholic wine makers. God called the aged women likewise. Not given to much wine. Teachers of good things.
Titus 2:4-6
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. 6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
If you haven’t noticed, everyone is to be sober. God has called us to love by following His words. We are to love the good, hate the evil, and establish judgment. Righteous judgment. God doesn’t call us to blaspheme His words as Joyce Meyer does.
Joyce Meyer’s Contradictions
Here’s a quote about the so-called “salvation” of Joyce Meyer. “So even though the pastor gave no altar call that Sunday, she grabbed the hands of her two cousins and said, ‘Come on, we’re going to get saved!’” “They appeared in front of the pastor who prayed for them to receive salvation.” “Joyce Meyer testifies that the she sensed the cleansing power of the Lord in her life that special day.” “Joyce married a Christian man, David Meyer.” Do you hear all of these things?
Salvation is not going to an altar. There is no altar call that will save you. Having a pastor pray for your salvation doesn’t save you. She’s not a saved woman. She’s evil. Do you really think God has called her to blaspheme His words?
Leviticus 19:28
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.
I am sure Joyce Meyer would say that this is the Old Testament and doesn’t count any more. Jesus Himself says that He didn’t come to destroy the law. Joyce Meyer came to destroy the law. Tattoos are cuttings in your flesh. They are marks upon you. God says to not do these things. But Joyce Meyer says no one can judge her. This is the unclean spirit within her talking.
God’s Words Are Clear
Jeremiah 48:37-38
For every head shall be bald, and every beard clipped: upon all the hands shall be cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth. 38 There shall be lamentation generally upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof: for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein is no pleasure, saith the LORD.
God takes no pleasure in tattoos. Joyce Meyer acts as if she has some higher connection with God. She acts as if God respects her person above other persons. But we know He is no respecter of Joyce Meyer. She isn’t above His words.
1 Kings 18:27-28
And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked. 28 And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.
People with false gods do these cuttings. People with unclean spirits love to cut themselves.
Mark 5:1-3
And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes. 2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, 3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:
Mark 5:4-5
Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. 5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.
Summary of False Teachers
Joyce Meyer is a false preacher and a blasphemer of God’s words. She will mesmerize you with her smile. Do you now understand that God didn’t call Joyce Meyer? She’s just one example today.
Matthew 7:15-17
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
They create liberal progressives in God’s church. They act as if everything is okay with God. They prove they don’t anything of this Bible. They don’t care what He thinks.
Conclusion: Verify God’s Calling
Romans 10:8
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
Revelation 2:2
I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars;
All of these people who are saying that God called them to do something against His words are liars.
Will you trust these people that say God told them something different than His words?
God’s words are pure. If you want to know what God has called you to do, read His words. Don’t add to them. Don’t claim He came to you in private and told you something He never said in the Bible. You must read and obey. God’s callings are in the Scripture.
Let’s pray.
