What This Month Is About

All November long we are practicing thankfulness to God. Each service, write one specific thing you’re thankful for and place it in the Thanksgiving Jar in the lobby.

How It Works

  1. Get a gratitude slip during each service. We hand them out during the service.
  2. Write one specific thanksgiving (one slip per person per service).
  3. Fold your note and drop it in the Thanksgiving Box up at the front of the church.
  4. Keep going the entire month of November up to Thanksgiving Sunday (the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving)

Simple Rules

  • One note per person per service (multiple services = multiple entries).
  • Be specific (e.g., “Answered prayer for work schedule” rather than “everything”).
  • Entries must be submitted by the end of the final service before the Thanksgiving Dinner.
  • Notes may be read anonymously at the dinner to encourage others.
  • A winner will be drawn out on Thanksgiving Sunday.

Schedule & Key Dates

  • Kickoff: First Sunday or Thursday in November — collection starts.
  • Mid-Month Check-In: Second Sunday in November — short encouragement and reminder to stay faithful.
  • Finale: Church Family Thanksgiving Feast (Sunday before Thanksgiving) — prize drawing and select notes to read.

Prize & Recognition

All submitted notes are entered into a $50 gift card drawing held during the Thanksgiving Dinner. Faithful participation is its own reward, but we’ll also celebrate testimonies of gratitude throughout the month.

Tracking Your Progress

  • Your entries are your progress — one note per service attended.
  • Families are encouraged to participate together. Parents may help younger children write their notes.

Why We’re Doing This

Gratitude is obedience to God’s will and the posture of a bold disciple. Training our hearts to notice God’s goodness strengthens faith, deepens joy, and honors the Lord.

Who can participate? Everyone present in services — members and guests.

Do I need to register? No registration is required; just submit notes during services.

Where do I submit? The Thanksgiving Box is located at the front of the church just in front of the pulpit.

How is the winner chosen? A random drawing from all submitted notes will be held during the Thanksgiving Dinner.
