Some false “Christian” religions today teach that you must be baptized to be saved.
If you know and understand a general overview of the entire Bible from front to back, you’ll know that NO WORK you can do will ever forgive your soul of sin.
Nothing forgives sin but God. You can’t do a good work like water baptism and get forgiveness of sin.
All people of all time are saved the exact same way. All people of all time are saved by God’s grace through faith.
You need to understand the simple definition of grace. Grace means you get something you don’t deserve. You can’t work for eternal life, gain it, and deserve it.
God says that NONE OF US are good and NONE OF US deserve it. No human who has ever lived besides Jesus Christ has been perfect.
The Bible teaches that perfect people can make it to heaven on their own without Jesus Christ. But, you must be perfect from start to finish without sin.
A bad thought is a sin. We all have sinned. We all have come short. God’s grace means that he is giving us something that none of us deserve.
And we can only receive that free gift by believing Jesus Christ is THE savior. Changing your mind and believing on Jesus Christ doesn’t take any work.
That’s why God’s plan is perfect. You can be saved right now because you don’t have to earn it or work for it.
False religions don’t like that. Just like the Pharisees, they want to think they are working for it and are better than others. They think it’s too easy to be saved in the way God says you’re saved.
That’s called not having FAITH in what God says. If you don’t want the gift of God that you don’t deserve, you’ll never work enough to obtain that gift.
God says that you can either change your mind and believe that Jesus is THE savior or you can go to hell. It’s very easy to change your mind and believe.
When you think a work that you do like water baptism is saving you by washing away your sins, you’ve misplaced your trust. You’ve taken it away from 100% JESUS, and you’ve put on some act that you must do.
When you do that, GRACE is no longer GRACE the Bible says.
Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
That verse right there (and the entire Book of Romans) should easily teach you that your baptism in water doesn’t save you. NO ACT or WORK you do can save you. None.
Why is grace no longer grace IF it be of works? Because now you deserve to be saved by what you’ve done. But the Bible says you’ll never earn the gift of eternal life.
Baptism doesn’t forgive you of sin. The blood of Jesus Christ saves you from sin.
Galatians 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
If baptism in water could wash away your sin, you wouldn’t need Jesus. You could be baptized every day and wash away your sins at the end of each day.
There’s only one problem, though. YOUR MIND. YOUR FLESH. You’ll have another bad thought, and you’ll soon be a sinner again. You might as well just stay in that baptismal your entire life, and then you might might it to haven.
Do you see how silly and absurd this is to think that dunking your body under water is ACTUALLY forgiving you of sin? Yes, that’s what false religions like the Pentecostals, Church of Christ, and Catholics are teaching. “You MUST be baptized to be forgiven of your sin.”
The heresy in that statement is VERY CLEAR when you start to listen to what Jesus Christ HIMSELF teaches in the Bible.
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Jesus doesn’t ever say that you MUST be baptized to be saved. And he never disagrees with himself. He is the word of God. He wrote the Bible. He knows what it says, and he isn’t confused.
If you believe baptism is a MUST to save you from your sin, you’re confused. It’s time to wake up and read John 3:36 again. It’s time to start in the book of John and be saved.
Simply put 100% of your trust on Jesus to save you. HIS SACRIFICE and HIS WORK was plenty powerful to save sinners like you and I.
Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Your baptism doesn’t shed blood and forgive you of son. JESUS died on the cross and HIS BLOOD was shed for you. Hard work on your part doesn’t save you.
Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
With that said, YES, you should be baptized. As soon as you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to save you, you SHOULD be baptized immediately.
That means you MUST already be saved BEFORE you get baptized.
Baptism is a picture or the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. You aren’t actually dying, being buried, and arising from the dead when you get baptized.
But you’re saying, “YES, I understand that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried for me, and arose from the dead for me so that I can have everlasting life!!!”
You’re saying, “God, I trust you ALONE to save me. And I thank you for saving me. Now, I want to obey you and do what you’ve asked me to do.”
BAPTISM is a great work that we should do once we’re saved. Understand that the actual act of being baptized in water does not save you.
Now, with that PROPER VIEW of baptism, study the Bible. Read the entire King James Bible from front to back in the next month (about 2.5 to 3 hours of reading the Bible each day), and you’ll see what water baptism doesn’t save you.
If you still think that it does, realize that you’re calling the Lord Jesus Christ a liar. He says this:
John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
If you think Acts 2:38 says that you must repent of your sin and be baptized to receive remission of sins, you need to read the sermon: Repent and Be Baptized.
Hey, listen, before you go. I want you to be saved with everything that I have within me. And God wants you to be saved at a MUCH GREATER magnitude than I do.
If you’re reading this right now and understanding, he’s calling you right now to simply change your mind and believe on HIM alone to save you.
At the moment you do, you’re saved and you HAVE everlasting life. It’s done. Now God will keep your salvation for you. This is the greatest thing that could ever happen to you in life.
