No—and here’s why.
As a Bible-believing Christian who holds to the King James Bible as the final authority in all matters of faith and practice, I do not recommend any so-called biblical movies. While many people praise these films for being “inspirational” or “visually powerful,” the truth is, they are spiritually dangerous, often deceptive, and never a substitute for the pure Word of God.
Why I Don’t Recommend Biblical Movies
Even the most popular “Bible movies” are riddled with error. They:
- Use corrupt modern Bible versions (NIV, ESV, NLT, etc.) instead of the King James Bible
- Add to or take away from God’s words — a serious sin (Revelation 22:18–19)
- Twist doctrine to promote emotionalism, ecumenism, or Catholic mysticism
- Feminize or weaken the character of Jesus Christ
- Feature sinful actors pretending to be Jesus, which is blasphemous and idolatrous
The Bible says:
“Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.”
Proverbs 30:5–6
Hollywood does not fear God—and it has no business handling the holy things of Scripture.
The Sin of Portraying Jesus Christ
God never gave us a physical description of Jesus Christ. This is no accident.
“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above…”
Exodus 20:4
When an actor pretends to be Jesus on screen, he is creating a false image of the Son of God. That’s not just dramatization—that’s idolatry. The real Jesus is sinless, eternal, and glorified. No actor—who is a sinner—can ever represent Him rightly.
And worse, these portrayals usually present a “Jesus” who is soft-spoken, emotionally conflicted, and tolerant of sin. That is another Jesus entirely:
“For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached…”
2 Corinthians 11:4
No man can play the role of the King of Kings. These films corrupt people’s minds and hearts with a counterfeit Christ.
What About The Classics?
Many well-meaning Christians point to films like:
- The Ten Commandments (1956)
- The Passion of the Christ (2004)
- The Chosen (TV Series)
But these are no better.
- The Ten Commandments adds massive fictional storylines and invented dialogue.
- The Passion is a Catholic-inspired mystical experience, not a biblical Gospel presentation. It leaves out the resurrection and uses false sources like the visions of a nun (Anne Catherine Emmerich).
- The Chosen introduces new scenes, false teachings, and makes Jesus into a character directed by men—not the living Word of God.
None of these are faithful. None of them use the KJV. And none of them honor the holiness of Jesus Christ.
What Should Believers Do Instead?
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Romans 10:17
You don’t need Hollywood. You need the Holy Ghost.
If you want the Bible to come alive:
- Read the King James Bible aloud
- Listen to Spirit-filled preaching
- Visualize Scripture through prayer and study
The Word of God doesn’t need a director—it needs a believer to receive it with faith.
🎥 No movie ever saved a soul
🎭 No actor ever preached the Gospel
📖 No screenplay is inspired—but the King James Bible is
Watch Real Preaching Instead
If you’re hungry for truth, you can find real sermons that exalt Christ and rightly divide the Word here:

Let the Bible speak for itself. Let no actor ever speak for Christ.
God ordained preaching to teach his words. Not movies. Not acting. His words being preached. Truth being preached.
Final Warning
Hollywood’s Jesus is a lie.
Only the King James Bible reveals the real Christ.
And no screen will ever show you the glory that only Scripture can.
“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name.”
Philippians 2:9
Don’t follow actors. Follow the Lamb.
