The Doctrine of the Scriptures

the doctrine of the scriptures statement of faith

The Bible is not just true — it is truth itself.

The Word of God is the foundation of all faith and practice. Without it, there can be no certainty, no doctrine, and no salvation. We believe the King James Bible is the preserved, inspired, and perfect Word of God in English — every word pure, every verse preserved, every doctrine complete. This page summarizes the Doctrine of the Scriptures as part of our complete Statement of Faith.

2 Timothy 3:16–17
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

1. The Bible Is the Word of God

The Scriptures did not originate from man but from the eternal mind of God. God breathed His very words through holy men who wrote as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

2 Peter 1:20–21
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Every word, every phrase, and every doctrine carries divine authority. To reject the Bible is to reject the voice of God Himself — the very heart of the Doctrine of the Scriptures.

2. The Bible Is Pure and Preserved

God not only inspired His Word — He preserved it. The same Spirit who spoke it has kept it pure for all generations.

Psalm 12:6–7
The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

We believe God’s preservation is as miraculous as His inspiration. The King James Bible is the culmination of that preservation — translated faithfully from the Textus Receptus and Masoretic texts into the universal language of our day.

Matthew 24:35
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

3. The Bible Is Complete and Final

The canon of Scripture is closed. God has spoken once for all time through His Word. There are no new revelations, prophecies, or “words from God” outside the Bible.

Revelation 22:18–19
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

All doctrines, decisions, and definitions must align with the Word of God — never the traditions of men or the opinions of scholars. The Doctrine of the Scriptures affirms that the Bible alone defines truth.

4. The Bible Is Our Final Authority

The Scriptures are not suggestions — they are commandments. They govern every belief, every sermon, every standard, and every decision in the church.

Psalm 119:105
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

We measure all things by the Bible — not by popularity, personality, or progressivism. If the Bible says it, that settles it. Every teaching on this site, including the Doctrine of the Trinity, flows from this same authority.
