Our Statement of Faith – The Foundation of What We Believe
We believe that doctrine is not divisive — it’s definitive. Every truth in this statement of faith comes directly from the preserved words of the King James Bible (KJV). These are not opinions of men but the revealed words of God, settled in heaven forever. What follows in this statement of faith is not negotiable, not cultural, and not up for debate.
We believe it.
We preach it.
We stand on it.
Psalm 119:89
For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.
Our Mission
True Words Baptist Church exists to turn believers into bold disciples of Jesus Christ — people who know the Word, live the Word, and preach the Word. Our statement of faith makes the mission clear.
We believe the church should not create passive Christians, but powerful preachers, courageous witnesses, and faithful servants who will stand for truth in a world that despises it.
Matthew 28:19–20
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Our Rally Cry
We want you to know the rally cry of True Words Baptist Church and this is included in our statement of faith:
Know the Word.
Live the Word.
Preach the Word.
Be Bold.
Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Summary of Our Beliefs
At True Words Baptist Church, we stand without apology on the King James Bible (KJV) as the inspired, preserved, and inerrant Word of God — our final authority in all matters of faith and practice. Our statement of faith is built entirely on the preserved words of the King James Bible (KJV).
We believe in one God who exists eternally as the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Salvation is by grace through faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ — not of works in any way, before, during, or after salvation.
We believe in eternal security — that once a person believes on Jesus Christ, they are saved forever.
The church is a local, independent body of baptized believers, commissioned to win souls, baptize converts, and teach the Word of God.
We believe in a post-tribulation, pre-wrath rapture of the saved and the millennial reign of Christ on earth.
We believe that Heaven and Hell are real, marriage is between one man and one woman, and believers are called to live holy, separated lives that honor God.
Our mission — as declared in this statement of faith — is to preach the Gospel to every creature, to teach all things commanded by Christ, and to stand firm in truth even when the world rejects it.
In short:
- The Bible is our authority.
- The Gospel is our message.
- Jesus Christ is our Savior.
- Faith alone is the means.
- Eternal life is the promise.
- Holiness and soul-winning are our calling.
John 17:17
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Our Doctrinal Beliefs
Every doctrine. Every verse. Every truth — lined up for battle.
Most churches give you a simple statement of faith without any details. Here at True Words Baptist Church, we want you to know the details of what we believe. Pastors are afraid to lay out their beliefs either because they aren’t strong in them or they don’t want to lose people.
Many people are offended by a detailed statement of faith because there are so many different beliefs. We’ll stand on the Bible, and we’ll continue in the Bible.
1) The Scriptures — Our Final Authority (KJV Only)
God’s Word doesn’t change — so neither do we. This point in our statement of faith is foundational.
We believe the King James Bible (KJV) is the inspired, preserved, inerrant, and sufficient Word of God. The Scriptures were given by inspiration of God, and He has preserved them perfectly for every generation. The translators of the King James Bible were not inspired, but God preserved His already inspired Word through their work. The KJV stands as the final authority in all matters of faith and practice, above all opinions, councils, and traditions of men.
Affirmation:
- The Scriptures are the very words of God — inspired, infallible, and perfect.
- The King James Bible is the preserved Word of God in English.
- The translators were not inspired, but God preserved His Word through them.
- The Bible is our final authority — not men, tradition, or religious systems.
2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
Psalm 12:6–7
The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

2) The Godhead — One God in Three Persons
Three are One — One is God. Our statement of faith plainly affirms the Trinity.
We believe in one God, eternally existing as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost — three distinct Persons, yet one divine essence. They are co-equal in power, glory, and purpose. The Godhead works in perfect unity — the Father plans, the Son redeems, and the Holy Ghost empowers — yet all three are one God.
Affirmation:
- There is one God in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
- Each Person of the Trinity is fully and equally God.
- The Father is not the Son; the Son is not the Spirit; the Spirit is not the Father — yet all are one.
1 John 5:7
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
Matthew 28:19
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
Learn More: The Doctrine of the Trinity
3) God the Father
The Father — Source of Life, Love, and Light. This statement of faith section exalts the Father’s role.
God the Father is the Creator, Ruler, and Sustainer of all things. He is the one true and living God, perfect in holiness, justice, mercy, and truth. Through faith in Jesus Christ, believers are adopted into His family and have the privilege of calling Him Father.
Affirmation:
- The Father is God and is over all.
- Believers become His children through faith in Christ alone.
- The Father loves, provides for, and disciplines His children.
- All things exist by His power and for His pleasure.
John 1:12
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
Ephesians 4:6
One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Learn More: The Doctrine of God the Father
4) God the Son — Jesus Christ
The Son of God became the Son of Man so that the sons of men might become sons of God. Our statement of faith magnifies Christ.
Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh — eternal, sinless, and equal with the Father. He was conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of a virgin. He lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary death for our sins, was buried, and rose again bodily the third day. He ascended into heaven and will one day return in power and glory.
Affirmation:
- Jesus Christ is God in the flesh.
- He was born of a virgin and lived without sin.
- His death on the cross paid for all sin once for all.
- He rose bodily from the dead and will return again.
John 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
1 Timothy 3:16
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Learn More: The Doctrine of Jesus Christ
5) God the Holy Ghost
The Comforter has come — and He dwells within us.
The Holy Ghost is God, equal with the Father and the Son. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; regenerates and indwells believers at salvation; seals them until the day of redemption; and empowers them for holy living and bold witnessing. We affirm the Holy Ghost as God within this statement of faith.
Affirmation:
- The Holy Ghost is God and a divine Person, not an impersonal force.
- He indwells every believer permanently at salvation.
- He fills believers for service and power.
- He guides us into truth and never contradicts the Word of God.
John 14:16–17
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Ephesians 1:13–14
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
Learn More: The Doctrine of the Holy Ghost
6) Creation — The Work of God’s Hand
We didn’t come from chaos — we came from Christ. Our statement of faith rejects evolution and affirms creation.
We believe that God created all things in six literal days and rested the seventh. Creation was a direct act of God, not a process of evolution. Everything exists for His glory and by His power. The universe was spoken into existence by the Word of God, and Jesus Christ Himself is the Creator and Sustainer of all life.
Affirmation:
- God created the heavens and the earth in six literal days.
- Creation was a supernatural act, not a scientific accident.
- Jesus Christ was present and active in creation.
- All things were made by Him and for Him.
Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Exodus 20:11
For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Learn More: The Doctrine of Creation
7) The Nature of Man
Made in God’s image — marred by sin. This statement of faith section explains man’s condition.
Man was created by God in His own image, with a living soul and the ability to choose right or wrong. But through Adam’s disobedience, sin entered the world and death by sin. Every human being is now born with a sinful nature and separated from God. Man is totally incapable of saving himself apart from divine grace.
Affirmation:
- Man was created in the image of God.
- Through Adam’s sin, all mankind became sinners by nature and by choice.
- Man’s heart is deceitful and desperately wicked without God.
- Only through faith in Christ can man be restored to fellowship with God.
Genesis 1:26–27
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Romans 5:12
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
Learn More: The Doctrine of Man
8) The Doctrine of Sin
Sin destroys everything it touches. Our statement of faith defines sin biblically.
Sin is the transgression of the law of God. It is rebellion against His holiness and results in separation from Him. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. The penalty for sin is death — both physical and eternal — and no amount of good works can erase guilt before a righteous God.
Affirmation:
- Sin is breaking God’s law and rebelling against His authority.
- All people are sinners by nature and by choice.
- Sin brings both physical and eternal death.
- The only remedy for sin is the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
1 John 3:4
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
James 1:15
Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Learn More: The Doctrine of Sin
9) Salvation — By Grace Through Faith Alone
It’s not what you do — it’s what He did. This statement of faith insists on faith alone.
Salvation is the free gift of God, received by faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is not of works, baptism, repentance from sin, or any human effort. Jesus Christ fully paid for our sins through His death, burial, and resurrection. When a person believes on the Lord Jesus Christ, he is saved instantly, eternally, and completely.
Affirmation:
- Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
- Good works have no part in obtaining, keeping, or proving salvation.
- The moment a person believes, they are justified and born again.
- Salvation cannot be lost, revoked, or undone.
Ephesians 2:8–9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Acts 16:31
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Learn More: The Doctrine of Salvation
10) The Blood of Christ
Without the blood, there is no salvation. Our statement of faith exalts Christ’s blood.
We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ is the only payment God accepts for sin. From the sacrifices of the Old Testament to the cross of Calvary, the Bible reveals that “without shedding of blood is no remission.” The blood of Christ redeems, cleanses, and justifies every believer once and for all.
Affirmation:
- Jesus Christ shed His blood to pay for all sin.
- The blood cleanses from sin and provides eternal redemption.
- Forgiveness comes only through faith in that blood.
- The blood is applied by faith, not by works or sacraments.
Hebrews 9:22
And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
1 Peter 1:18–19
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
Learn More: The Doctrine of the Blood
11) Eternal Security of the Believer
Saved forever means saved forever. Every statement of faith should include eternal security.
We believe that once a person is saved, they are saved for all eternity. Salvation cannot be lost, undone, or forfeited. Eternal life is a present possession, not a future reward. The believer is kept by the power of God, sealed by the Holy Spirit, and held safely in the hand of Jesus Christ forever. Every statement of faith should include eternal security.
Affirmation:
- Eternal life begins the moment of faith, not at death.
- A believer can never lose salvation for any reason.
- The saved are sealed by the Holy Ghost until the day of redemption.
- God disciplines His children but never disowns them.
John 10:28–29
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
Romans 8:38–39
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Learn More: The Doctrine of Eternal Security
12) The Church — The Body of Christ
Independent, local, and led by the Word — not the world. Our statement of faith teaches a local, visible church.
We believe the local church is the body of Christ, composed of saved, baptized believers joined together for worship, teaching, fellowship, and evangelism. Each church is autonomous and accountable directly to Jesus Christ, its Head. The church is not a denomination or hierarchy, but a local, visible assembly carrying out the Great Commission.
Affirmation:
- Jesus Christ is the only Head of the church.
- Each local church is independent under His authority.
- The church’s mission is to win souls, baptize believers, and teach the Word.
- True fellowship is rooted in shared truth, not shared tradition.
Colossians 1:18
And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
Acts 2:41–42
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. 42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Learn More: The Doctrine of the Church
13) Baptism — The First Step of Obedience
Buried with Him in baptism, raised to walk in newness of life. This statement of faith section clarifies baptism.
Baptism is a public act of obedience that symbolizes the believer’s faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is performed by full immersion after salvation and has no part in saving the soul. Baptism identifies the believer with Christ and His church.
Affirmation:
- Baptism follows salvation and is for believers only.
- The proper mode is immersion, picturing Christ’s death and resurrection.
- Baptism does not save; it declares one’s faith publicly.
- It is the first step of obedience for a new believer.
Acts 2:41
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
Romans 6:4
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Learn More: The Doctrine of Baptism
14) The Lord’s Supper — A Memorial of Christ’s Sacrifice
We remember His body broken and His blood shed for us. Our statement of faith treats the Supper as a memorial.
The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic ordinance given to the church to remember Christ’s sacrifice. The bread represents His body, and the cup represents His blood. It is a memorial, not a means of grace. Only saved, baptized believers should partake after self-examination.
Affirmation:
- The Lord’s Supper commemorates Christ’s death until He comes.
- The elements are symbols — not the literal body or blood of Christ.
- Participants must be saved, baptized in water, and in fellowship with God.
- The Supper unites the church in remembrance and gratitude.
1 Corinthians 11:24–26
And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.
Learn More: The Doctrine of the Lord’s Supper
15) Separation and Holiness
Come out from among them — and be ye separate. This statement of faith calls believers to holiness.
God calls His people to live holy, separated lives distinct from the world’s sin and compromise. Believers are commanded to reject ungodly influences, false doctrine, and worldly living, pursuing righteousness and purity in every area of life.
Affirmation:
- Believers are called to live holy and clean lives.
- We must separate from sin, false religion, and worldly corruption.
- Separation is both moral (personal conduct) and doctrinal (church fellowship).
- Holiness reflects the character of the God who saved us.
2 Corinthians 6:17
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
1 Peter 1:16
Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
Learn More: The Doctrine of Separation & Holiness
16) Marriage and the Family
God designed the home before He designed the church. Our preaching and statement of faith defend the home.
Marriage is a sacred union between one man and one woman for life. The family is the foundation of society and the first institution God established. Parents are to love, nurture, and train their children according to the Word of God. The world is killing marriage and the family, but we will stand strong on this topic in our preaching and statement of faith.
Affirmation:
- Marriage is only between one man and one woman.
- The husband is the head of the home as Christ is the Head of the church.
- Wives are to submit in love and children to obey their parents.
- The home should be built on prayer, Scripture, and love for God.
Genesis 2:24
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Ephesians 5:23–25
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.
Learn More: The Doctrine of Marriage & Family
17) Angels and Demons
The unseen war is real — but victory belongs to Christ. Our statement of faith acknowledges spiritual warfare.
Angels are created beings who serve God as His messengers and ministers. Satan is a fallen angel who rebelled against God, taking other angels with him. These fallen angels (demons) oppose God’s work, but they are destined for eternal judgment.
Affirmation:
- Angels are created, spiritual beings who serve God.
- Satan and his demons are real and actively oppose God’s people.
- Believers have authority over evil through the name of Jesus Christ.
- The ultimate victory over Satan was won at the cross.
Colossians 1:16
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him.
Revelation 12:9
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Learn More: The Doctrine of Angels & Demons
18) Satan
He was created beautiful, but became the father of lies.
Satan is a real being — not a symbol of evil — who rebelled against God and became the tempter and accuser of mankind. He is the ruler of this present world system, but his defeat is sure, and his end will be in the Lake of Fire forever. Satan is real, and he needs to be covered in any statement of faith.
Affirmation:
- Satan is a created being who rebelled against God.
- He deceives, tempts, and accuses believers.
- His power is limited by God’s sovereignty.
- He will be cast into the Lake of Fire for eternity.
John 8:44
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Revelation 20:10
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Learn More: The Doctrine of Satan
19) Providence of God
Nothing happens by chance — everything happens by God’s design. Our statement of faith affirms God’s providence.
God upholds and governs all things according to His perfect will. Nothing occurs outside His knowledge or control. Even in suffering, God works all things together for good to them that love Him. His providence ensures His purposes are always fulfilled.
Affirmation:
- God rules over all creation with perfect wisdom and power.
- Every event in history serves His divine plan.
- He works all things for the good of His people.
- Believers can trust His unseen hand even in trials.
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Psalm 37:23
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
Learn More: The Doctrine of the Providence of God
20) Civil Government
We obey earthly rulers, but we serve a higher King. This statement of faith section explains our duty to God and government.
Civil government is ordained by God for the maintenance of law and order. Believers are commanded to respect and pray for those in authority, but when the laws of men contradict the laws of God, we must obey God rather than men.
Affirmation:
- Government is established by God to reward good and punish evil.
- Christians should respect and pray for civil leaders.
- We are to obey laws unless they violate God’s Word.
- Our ultimate loyalty is to Christ, not to any government.
Romans 13:1–2
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
Acts 5:29
Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
Learn More: The Doctrine of Civil Government
21) The Kingdom of God
Not of this world — but soon to rule over it. Within our statement of faith, we clarify the kingdom’s nature.
The Kingdom of God is the spiritual reign of Christ in the hearts of believers now and His literal reign upon the earth in the future. The church is not the kingdom, but we are called to live as citizens of Heaven, advancing God’s rule through obedience and witness. We have a job to do within the kingdom of God, and we include these affirmations in our statement of faith.
Affirmation:
- The Kingdom of God is both present and future.
- It is entered through faith, not by physical birth or works.
- Christ will return to reign visibly and righteously on earth.
- Believers are ambassadors of that coming kingdom.
John 18:36
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
Revelation 11:15
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
Learn More: The Doctrine of the Kingdom of God
22) The Reprobate
Those who reject God long enough are rejected by God. Our statement of faith addresses this solemn reality.
We believe there are some who, having rejected God repeatedly and knowingly, have been given over to a reprobate mind. These individuals are incapable of being saved because God has withdrawn His offer of grace from them. We do not attempt to determine who is a reprobate. We preach the Gospel to every creature, and we do not attempt to do God’s job for Him.
We also want to be very clear here. Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, and we know that Jesus can save anyone from any sins. He paid them all. There is NOTHING too hard for the Lord!
Affirmation:
- A reprobate is one rejected by God and void of understanding.
- Reprobates have crossed a line where repentance is no longer possible.
- Their condemnation is final and irreversible.
- We must still preach the Gospel boldly to all, leaving judgment to God.
Romans 1:28
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.
2 Thessalonians 2:11–12
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Learn More: The Reprobate Doctrine
23) Apostasy
The falling away is not coming — it’s here.
Apostasy is the departure from truth by those who once professed it. In the last days, many will turn from sound doctrine to fables and false gospels. We must earnestly contend for the faith once delivered unto the saints. A strong statement of faith should always include views on apostasy.
Affirmation:
- The Bible warns of widespread apostasy before Christ’s return.
- False teachers corrupt the Gospel and deceive the masses.
- Believers must stand firm on sound doctrine regardless of opposition.
- The faithful remnant will not bow to the spirit of compromise.
2 Thessalonians 2:3
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.
2 Timothy 4:3–4
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Learn More: The Doctrine of Apostasy
24) End Times (Eschatology)
Jesus is coming again — and this world is not ready.
We believe in the literal, visible return of Jesus Christ after the tribulation and before God’s wrath is poured out. The rapture and second coming are the same event, followed by Christ’s thousand-year reign. The unsaved will face final judgment in the Lake of Fire, while believers will dwell forever with the Lord. End times events are covered in our doctrine and statement of faith.
Affirmation:
- The rapture occurs after the tribulation and before God’s wrath.
- The millennial reign of Christ will last 1,000 years on earth.
- The lost will be judged at the Great White Throne.
- A new heaven and new earth will follow for all eternity.
Matthew 24:29–31
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven… 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Revelation 21:1
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Learn More: The Doctrine of End Times
25) Rewards and Service
We serve a King who never forgets faithfulness. Our statement of faith motivates service with eternal rewards.
Believers will one day stand before Christ to give an account of their lives. Salvation is not the issue, but reward or loss of reward for service done in this life. Every act of obedience and faithfulness will be remembered and rewarded by the Lord Jesus Christ.
Affirmation:
- Every believer will appear at the Judgment Seat of Christ.
- Salvation cannot be lost, but rewards can be gained or forfeited.
- Our labor for the Lord is never in vain.
- Crowns and rewards are given for faithful service and soul winning.
2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

What We Reject
Every false doctrine. Every corruption. Every lie — called out by name.
At True Words Baptist Church, we believe that truth and error cannot coexist. The same Bible that tells us to “earnestly contend for the faith” also warns us to “mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine.”
This statement of faith is our unshakable commitment to the inspired Word of God, and we must include what we reject as a church.
To stand for truth, we must expose falsehood.
To preach Christ faithfully, we must name what opposes Him.
Ephesians 5:11
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
Jude 1:3–4
Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our statement of faith rejects modern perversions of Scripture, counterfeit gospels, false spirits, worldly churches, and corrupt lifestyles, as detailed below.
False Gospels We Reject
- Salvation by Works – We reject any teaching that adds works, baptism, repentance of sin, or perseverance as requirements for salvation.
- Lordship Salvation – We reject the idea that one must make Jesus “Lord of all” or surrender every sin to be saved.
- Calvinism / Reformed Theology – We reject the doctrines of limited atonement, unconditional election, and irresistible grace, which deny free will and the universal offer of salvation.
- Roman Catholicism – We reject the authority of the Pope, the worship of Mary or saints, purgatory, and salvation through sacraments.
- Seventh-Day Adventism – We reject Sabbath keeping, soul sleep, investigative judgment, and dietary laws as doctrines binding on the church.
- Mormonism and Jehovah’s Witnesses – We reject their denial of Christ’s deity and their addition of extra-biblical revelation.
- Islam, Hinduism, and all false religions – We reject every belief system that denies Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the only way to Heaven.
False Scriptures We Reject
- Modern Bible Versions – We reject all versions that corrupt, omit, or change the words of God. Only the King James Bible is inspired, preserved, and perfect in English. We do not say that the modern versions are completely corrupted. We believe you can get the word of God from those versions, but there is corruption within those modern perversions.
- The Apocrypha – We reject the Apocryphal books as uninspired and non-canonical.
- Extra-Biblical Revelation – We reject any claim of modern prophecy, tongues, or “new words from God.” The Bible is complete and final.
Proverbs 30:5–6
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. 6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
False Spirits We Reject
- The Charismatic Movement – We reject speaking in tongues, faith healing, and “slain in the Spirit” practices as unbiblical counterfeits.
- Prosperity Gospel / Word of Faith – We reject the teaching that faith guarantees wealth, health, or success.
- Ecumenicalism and Interfaith Unity – We reject all attempts to unite truth with error under a false “love” banner.
1 John 4:1
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
False Churches We Reject
- State Churches and Denominational Control – We reject the authority of any outside denomination, convention, or association over the local church.
- Female Pastors or Deacons – We reject women in positions of authority over men in the church, as Scripture forbids it.
- Apostate Mega-Churches and Entertainment-Driven Worship – We reject worldly music, watered-down preaching, and performance-based worship that caters to the flesh.
2 Timothy 4:3–4
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
False Lifestyles We Reject
- LGBTQ+ “Christianity” – We reject homosexuality, transgenderism, and same-sex marriage as abominations condemned by Scripture. We will not tolerate this within the church at any time. Our statement of faith makes this clear.
- Alcohol, Drugs, and Worldly Entertainment – We reject all substances and practices that destroy the body and defile the mind.
- Feminism and Effeminate Men – We reject all rebellion against God’s created order of gender and authority.
- Materialism and Greed – We reject the love of money and the idolatry of possessions.
Romans 1:26–28
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections… 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.
False Divisions We Reject
- Racism and Prejudice – We reject any teaching that elevates one race or nation above another. All believers are one in Christ.
- Woke Theology and Social Justice Gospels – We reject modern ideologies that replace the Gospel of grace with activism or victimhood.
- Political Idolatry – We reject devotion to any political leader, nation, or movement above loyalty to Christ.
Galatians 3:28
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
False End-Time Views We Reject
- Pre-Tribulation Rapture – We reject the teaching that Christ will secretly rapture the church before the tribulation.
- Post-Millennialism and Amillennialism – We reject teachings that deny Christ’s literal thousand-year reign.
- Date Setting – We reject attempts to predict the exact time of Christ’s return.
Matthew 24:29–31
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened… and he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
False Morality We Reject
- Abortion and Euthanasia – We reject the taking of innocent human life. We reject abortion of any type within this statement of faith.
- Pornography and Fornication – We reject sexual immorality in all forms.
- Dishonesty and Corruption – We reject lying, theft, and fraud in personal and public life.
Proverbs 6:16–19
These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
The Discipleship Commitment
Doctrine must become devotion — belief must produce boldness.
We believe the Christian life does not end at salvation; it begins there. Every believer is called to grow in grace, to walk in the Spirit, and to live out the truth they have received. At True Words Baptist Church, discipleship means becoming more like Christ — not by feelings or fads, but by faithfulness to His Word. Our statement of faith is very clear that salvation is by faith alone, but take that faith and do something with it.
Luke 9:23
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Affirmation:
- A true disciple (not a saved person) continues in the Word daily.
- Discipleship demands self-denial, obedience, and endurance.
- Every believer is called to follow Christ publicly and courageously.
- Spiritual maturity comes through preaching, prayer, service, and sacrifice.
John 8:31–32
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
We reject lazy, lukewarm Christianity. We reject “Sunday-only” faith. We reject knowledge without application.
We believe that every saved believer should grow into a bold soldier of the cross, standing unashamed for the Gospel.
2 Timothy 2:3–4
Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
Discipleship is not a course to complete — it is a cross to carry.
Our mission is not just to gather a crowd, but to train an army.
Summary Statement – Our Statement of Faith
We are not ashamed to call sin what God calls sin.
We are not afraid to stand against what God condemns.
We are not compromising what God has made clear. This statement of faith declares that stand.
2 Corinthians 6:17
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
The Closing Confession in the TWBC Statement of Faith
We believe every word. We stand on every truth. Our statement of faith stands strong because of the Bible.
This is not a casual creed or a denominational document — it is our declaration of faith (a strong STATEMENT OF FAITH), rooted in the inspired, preserved, and perfect Word of God.
We believe the Bible means what it says and says what it means. We do the same in our statement of faith. We will not edit it to please men, update it to fit culture, or soften it to attract a crowd.
We are not ashamed of being old-fashioned, because God’s truth is timeless. Our statement of faith is a serious stand for God’s word.
Psalm 119:160
Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.
We will not be moved by trends, intimidated by persecution, or silenced by the world. We will stand for truth until the trumpet sounds and the King returns.
2 Timothy 1:13–14
Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. 14 That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.
We will continue to preach salvation by grace through faith, the blood of Jesus Christ, and the blessed hope of His coming — until every soul in our reach has heard the Gospel.
Acts 20:27
For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.
We will continue to uphold this statement of faith unchanged.
