Every church has a purpose, but True Words Baptist Church has a mission that burns deep in our hearts — to see souls saved, believers baptized, and Christians transformed into bold disciples of Jesus Christ.
This is not a slogan. It’s a command straight from Scripture — the same mission given by Jesus Christ Himself. When we align our mission perfectly with the mission of Jesus Christ, great things happen!
The Great Commission Still Stands
Matthew 28:19–20
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
The mission of True Words Baptist Church is simple, but it is everything:
- Preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
- Baptize Saved Believers.
- Teach All Things from the Bible.
But our purpose doesn’t stop there — our goal is to raise a generation of believers who live unashamed, unwavering, and unafraid in a dark world.

1. Preach the Gospel
The heartbeat of our church is soul-winning.
From the streets of West Louisville to neighborhoods across Kentucky, we go door to door, house to house, bringing the Good News of salvation by faith alone in Jesus Christ.
Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.
Our mission begins where Jesus began — by calling sinners to salvation. We preach the true Gospel: that salvation is by grace through faith, not of works, not by repentance from sin, but by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ.

2. Baptize Saved Believers
Once someone is saved, we encourage them to take the next step of obedience — baptism by immersion.
Acts 8:36–37
And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest.
Baptism does not save anyone, but it is a public testimony that you already have been saved. It identifies the believer with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It’s a picture of sins being washed away, but the water isn’t washing sins away. The blood of Jesus Christ cleans us forever.
At True Words Baptist Church, baptism is not delayed — it’s done immediately, just as in the Book of Acts.
3. Teach All Things
A healthy church doesn’t just win souls — it builds disciples.
We take seriously Christ’s command to “teach them to observe all things.” That’s why every sermon, every Bible study, and every ministry is centered around the King James Bible.
Our teaching is verse-by-verse, doctrinally sound, and designed to strengthen Christians for spiritual warfare and daily life.
2 Timothy 2:2
And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
From Sunday School to Thursday night Bible study, we are training believers to become teachers, preachers, and spiritual leaders in their homes and communities.
