Our Story
Founded on the unshakable foundation of God’s Word, True Words Baptist Church began as a small group of believers committed to spreading the Good News. Over the weeks and months, our church has grown into a thriving faith community, reaching people through evangelism, outreach, and biblical teaching.
We stand firm in the belief that the Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice.

Joshua Tapp
Joshua Tapp leads True Words Baptist Church with a passion for preaching the uncompromised truth of the King James Bible and fulfilling the Great Commission. He is committed to soul-winning, discipleship, and training believers to stand strong in their faith.
Nathan Holmes
Nathan Holmes plays a vital role in the leadership of True Words Baptist Church, assisting in ministry operations, outreach efforts, and discipleship programs. His dedication to spreading the Gospel and strengthening the church body is evident through his commitment to serving and equipping believers.

Our Mission
At True Words Baptist Church, our mission is threefold:
1. Preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ – We are committed to fulfilling the Great Commission by preaching the Gospel daily and in every house (Acts 5:42). Our focus is to spread the message of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
2. Baptize Saved Believers – Baptism is the first step of obedience after salvation. We encourage and facilitate water baptism for new believers as a public profession of their faith (Matthew 28:19).
3. Teach All Things – Discipleship is a key part of our church’s mission. We are dedicated to teaching the Bible, helping believers grow spiritually, and equipping them to become disciples of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:20).
Our passion is to see lives transformed by the power of God’s Word, and we strive to make a lasting impact in Louisville, KY, and beyond.
What We Believe
At True Words Baptist Church, we believe in the absolute authority of the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible as the preserved Word of God for English-speaking people.
As an Independent Fundamental Baptist church, we hold to the old paths of Scripture, rejecting modern versions, liberal theology, and worldly compromise.
- Church Type: We are an Independent Fundamental Baptist (IFB) church, committed to biblical separation, soul-winning, and the authority of the local church.
- Bible Used: We stand on the King James Version Only (KJVO) as the preserved, inerrant, and inspired Word of God for English-speaking people.
- Salvation: We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). No works, sacraments, or personal efforts can earn salvation.
- Eternal Security: We hold to Once Saved, Always Saved – salvation is a free gift from God that can never be lost (John 10:28-29).
- Soul Winning: We actively obey the Great Commission by hosting multiple soul-winning sessions per week, reaching our community with the Gospel (Mark 16:15).
We are committed to soul-winning, biblical separation, and the fundamentals of the faith, ensuring that everything we do is rooted in biblical doctrine and Baptist distinctives.

We also welcome visitors from Jeffersontown, Middletown, Okolona, Clarksville (IN), Jeffersonville (IN), St. Matthews, and Shepherdsville.
