When Does The Tribulation End?

The tribulation, within the Bible, occurs during the final 7-year period of time that we call Daniel’s 70th week. The entire world will be going through a time of trouble before Jesus comes back in the clouds at His second coming.

But when exactly does the tribulation end?

The entire 7-year period that we call Daniel’s 70th week is not the tribulation, but the tribulation is within the 7-year period. It just doesn’t take up the entire 7 years.

So, the end of the tribulation, contrary to false preaching, does not end when Daniel’s 70th week ends.

We look to the Scriptures to know exactly when the tribulation ends.

Daniel’s 70th Week = End Times Events = 7 Year Period of Time

Daniel’s 70th week consists of 3 major events:

  1. The Tribulation
  2. Second Coming of Jesus Christ
  3. God’s Wrath

Are those all of the major events? No, they are not. But, this is a simplified summary of Daniel’s 70th week.

Now, we can use the Scriptures within the Bible to find out when the tribulation ends.

And this Scripture is very clear and easy to understand.

Matthew 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

Now, focus on this verse right here in Matthew Chapter 24 verse 29. Here’s a parallel passage in the Gospel of Mark:

Mark 13:24-25 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, 25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.

Jesus Christ says, “AFTER THE TRIBULATION.” If something is after the tribulation, this means that the tribulation must be over. I hope you see this.

Here Are The Signs That Happen AFTER THE TRIBULATION. When You See Them, You Know The Tribulation Is Over!

We see the following signs from Jesus Christ in Matthew Chapter 24 and Mark 13 that tell us that the tribulation is over:

  1. The sun shall be darkened.
  2. The moon shall not give her light.
  3. The stars shall fall from heaven.
  4. The powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

Matthew Chapter 24 and Mark Chapter 13 are speaking of the signs of the end times as the Bible explains at the beginning of the chapters:

Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

Mark 13:3-4 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, 4 Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?

Since Matthew Chapter 24 and Mark Chapter 13 are talking about the end times events, we should be able to find these 4 signs within the Book of Revelation.

You Will Find End Times Events In Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, and Revelation So Compare Them And They Match

The Book of Revelation also speaks of end times events so we should find the same things in Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21 and the Book of Revelation.

And we do find the same signs in the Book of Revelation.

We search the Scriptures to find where in the Book of Revelation that the 1) sun is darkened, 2) moon does not giver her light, 3) the stars fall from heaven, and 4) the powers of the heavens shaken.

If we can find these same 4 signs in the Book of Revelation, we will know that the tribulation is over. We can also match up what happens in Matthew 24 and Mark 13 to the same information in the Book of Revelation.

Then, we will know that we have this doctrine correct.

Now, your job is to find these 4 signs in the Book of Revelation. Once you find them, you’ll know that the tribulation is now over. Jesus says that once you see these 4 signs that you will know the tribulation is over. He says, “After the tribulation of those days, you will see these 4 signs.”

It takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to read through the Book of Revelation. Read until you find these signs in Revelation.

When You Search The Scriptures For The 4 Signs, You Will Find Those Same 4 Signs Here:

Here’s the location in which you will find all 4 signs that Jesus gives us:

Revelation 6:12-14 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

Count the signs that you see in the Scriptures above:

  1. The sun became black as sackcloth of hair / The sun shall be darkened
  2. The moon became as blood / The moon shall not give her light
  3. The stars of heaven fell unto the earth / The stars shall fall from heaven
  4. There was a great earthquake / The powers of the heavens shall be shaken

In the above list, I have placed the signs that we see in Revelation Chapter 6 first followed by the signs given in the Gospels of Matthew and Mark.

So, it sure appears that we have found the place in Revelation that Jesus was talking about. Does it not? There is no other instance of these four signs in the Book of Revelation. And they match perfectly. We aren’t missing one of the signs. All four that Jesus gave us are there.

Don’t Miss The Sign of The Fig Tree

Here’s another part of the puzzle, though, that I don’t want you to miss. In Revelation 6:13 we also see the following:

“Even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.”

We also see the fig tree mentioned in Matthew Chapter 24.

Matthew 24:32-33 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

We also see the fig tree mentioned in Mark Chapter 13:

Mark 13:28-29 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: 29 So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.

We also see this in the parallel passage within Luke Chapter 21:

Luke 21:29-31 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; 30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. 31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

Is the fig tree sign also a coincidence when we see it in Revelation Chapter 6, Matthew Chapter 24, Mark Chapter 13, and Luke Chapter 21? No, it is not a coincidence.

We Know The Tribulation Is Over When We See Those 4 Signs And It Is Not Over At The End of Daniel’s 70th Week. The Tribulation is Over Before Then.

We know for sure that tribulation is over when we see the 4 signs that Jesus teaches us to look for.

Now, closely read this Scripture again in Revelation Chapter 6:

Revelation 6:12-14 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

We know 100% for sure that the tribulation is over when Jesus Christ opens the sixth seal in heaven. Verse 12 says so. We see the exact signs of the tribulation being over.

“But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, 25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.”

Now, we know Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 discuss the same end times events that we see in the Book of Revelation. How do we know this?

We know this because we can match up all the signs that Jesus gives us in these chapters to the exact same signs that we see in Revelation. It’s not only the signs of the end of the tribulation. You will find that all of the signs match.

Match Up The Scriptures And Compare Them Because They Are Perfect. Trust The Scriptures.

You will see seal 1, seal 2, seal 3, seal 4, seal 5, seal 6, and then the second coming of Jesus Christ. The tribulation and great tribulation happen before seal 6. When seal 6 arrives, the tribulation and great tribulation are over.

Notice that seals 1 through 6 must occur before Jesus comes back in the clouds at His second coming. At His second coming, He gathers together all believers at the rapture.

You will see this in the Gospels and within the Book of Revelation in perfect order.

I will now point you to a chart that I’ve made that simply compares the Scriptures between the Gospels and the Book of Revelation. You can do this comparison yourself, and you will know that this is no coincidence:

You will begin to see the connection between the Scriptures as this is how God wants us to study the Bible. He wants us to compare Scripture with Scripture.

Now You Know When The Tribulation Ends

So, now you can answer the question:

When does the tribulation end?

The tribulation is over once the sixth seal is opened by Jesus Christ. What is the sixth seal?

Revelation 6:12-17 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

We know that the great day of God’s wrath is now come. Once the sun and moon are darkened and the stars fall from heaven, we know the tribulation is over and that God’s wrath is coming next.

If you continue reading in Revelation, you will see that a multitude of people show up in heaven that came out of great tribulation.

Jesus Comes In The Clouds After The Sixth Seal Is Opened

When you see the 4 signs, you can know that Jesus is coming very soon.

Luke 21:25-28 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

We know that Jesus comes in the clouds right after the sixth seal is opened to rapture the believers away. You can clearly see this in Matthew Chapter 24.

The day of the Lord is a great day and a terrible day. Great for the believers and terrible for the unbelievers.

Matthew 24:29-31 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Jesus comes in the clouds to gather together His believers at the rapture. This occurs BEFORE God’s wrath is poured out in the earth.

Tribulation, Great Tribulation, Jesus Comes Back, The Day of God’s Wrath Is Come

So, we see the tribulation first, then great tribulation, then Jesus comes back in the clouds, and then God’s wrath will be poured out. Jesus Christ Himself gives us these things in this order. You can choose to believe Jesus Christ or believe man.

True teaching is never popular. What I just taught you here is not the popular teaching, but it is the correct teaching. You can search the Scriptures yourself to see what I’ve taught is true.

Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Please don’t accept teaching in the churches as the truth when you haven’t verified the truth with the actual Scriptures. Yes, this will take some work, but it’s time to do some work for God Almighty.
