Hey, this is Josh Tapp from True Words Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky, and I wanted to give you soul winning results for today. We went in between church services at Vision Valley Baptist Church. We went soul winning from about 2 p.m. to about 4:30 p.m. or so. We had 15 soul winners out in our groups today. We had six total salvations. We forgot to list one of the names from yesterday’s results. I want to list that name. That’s Abrionna. Please pray for her. She was in West Louisville, saved yesterday.
I’m going to list the names for today. We went to Trio Avenue Apartments. in the Okolona, Louisville area, zip code 40219. And we’re going to try to track those salvations by zip code. But the six names, please pray for these people. The first one’s Mike Shartzer, Ronald Calixte, Sultane Calixte, a husband and wife, Travis Giles, Hillary Gamble, Michael Clemente. So six total salvations. Praise the Lord on those. I’m a little late posting this. I didn’t post it earlier in the location we were at. I forgot some of the equipment, so I wanted to get it posted tonight. Something that stood out to me today.
So we had left an invitation in one of the doors. Nobody answered. It was me, Bill, Callie. We left that invitation in there. We continued going. We went all the way around, come back through, was walking down the road, thought we were finished. This man was standing outside that group of apartments looking at us. I looked at Bill, said, hey, did we already talk to that guy? And as I was saying that before Bill answered, he was motioning us over to talk to him. And this is Ronald Calixte, which I mentioned earlier. And he wanted to talk to us, see what was going on. And he was interested. He pulled us over. The only problem was he couldn’t speak English very well. He could understand a little bit.
When I was asking if he was sure he was going to heaven, if he knew how to get to heaven, He would say well, I don’t want to go to hell, right? He wasn’t fully understand what I was saying. So he pulled his wife Out there. She spoke a little better English But I didn’t think I was getting anywhere with them. It was very difficult for them to understand English They spoke French. They’re from Haiti So I did my best ended up leaving Telling them how to translate on Google. They already knew how to do that and But we went back to the car, but one of the things that man said to me the first time was, he’s like, please teach me the Bible. He said that, please teach me. He didn’t know how to get to heaven. He wanted to know how. And I didn’t know how to get the message across to him.
So I went back to the car, told my wife, my kids were there in the car, we were about to leave. And my wife’s like, well, let’s use Google Translate and see what we can do. So we drove back down the road just a little bit back to his house. Parked, got out of the car, knocked on his door again. His wife answered. She invited us in. So we sat there on the couch with him and spent probably about 35 minutes or so using Google Translate, getting the gospel across. And I was just praying that she would understand more, that he would understand more. It seemed to get better while we went.
She understood eternal security, everlasting life. She was telling her husband some of those things at the same time, and they believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. They got on their knees on the floor in that living room there, and we prayed, and we asked Jesus to save them. Thank God, and they’re saved forever. Husband and wife, September 8, 2024, saved, both of them. So it was a great day. of soul winning, and we’re gonna keep that soul winning going. At first, had a little bit of trouble. I thought it would be very, very receptive. It didn’t start out that way, but we just kept going and going.
We got through a lot of apartments today, but ended up with six total salvations, and that’s an awesome day. So we thank the Lord Jesus Christ for everything that He does for us, and we’re learning a lot of lessons during soul winning. We learn every time we go out. we learn something else. So I wanted to give a little tip from yesterday. So when my wife, Pam, she walked by a lady, the lady was on the phone, right? So a lot of times when somebody’s on the phone, we kinda don’t wanna bother them. So we might give them an invitation really quick, keep walking. But this time my wife tried a little bit harder, gave her an invitation, said, hey, I’m sorry, I know you’re on the phone.
But this card here shows you how to get to heaven. And she’s like, hey, I can show you right now if you’re interested. And the lady said, yeah, I’m interested, and told the other lady on the phone. She said, hey, I got to go. She goes, I want to talk to this church lady. She said, I got to go. Well, the lady on the phone said, I don’t want you to hang up with me. She goes, okay, I won’t hang up, but you’re going to listen to the entire gospel too. You’re going to listen to this lady.
So that lady ended up hearing the gospel with the other lady on the phone. She just put the phone right there on her chest, and she was able to hear the whole gospel, and she got saved. So don’t just sometimes, you know, I do that too. If somebody’s on the phone, I don’t want to bother them. But we might as well go ahead and give it a shot, right? Probably not going to see those people again, and we’re there for the gospel. So anytime you see somebody, give it a good effort, and do your best, and see if they want to hear the gospel. There’s a lot of people interested that you might not think are interested.
You might look at somebody, I’ve been wrong so many times, say they’re not going to be interested in this, and they are interested. So give it your best shot out there. Keep asking. Anytime you see anybody outside, we go straight to those people. And sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, but it’s a great, great thing to do is just go straight to a person that you see, right? We’re not there to knock on doors, we’re there to talk to people. So if you already see them outside, you’re already past that first obstacle of catching the person at home. And a lot of people that are outside, they’re more receptive to talking.
So those are just a couple of tips, right? You see somebody on the phone, go ahead, give it a shot. Try. They might put the other person, they can talk to that other person another time. They’re not going to see you as often or talk to you as often. So give that a shot. And when you see people outside, just go straight to those people. Give them invitations. Say, I’m from a Baptist church called True Words Baptist Church. Can I give you an invitation to church? And that gets the conversation started. And you say, hey, do you have a church already? And whatever they say, you say, well, more important than church, because church doesn’t get us to heaven. More important than that is knowing for sure that you’re going to go to heaven. So if you died today, are you 100% sure that you would go to heaven? And that’s how we get the conversation started. It’s very easy. And then from there, we go. And sometimes people don’t want to hear They don’t want to see the Bible. They don’t want to hear the verses. But you can get in a quick summary of the gospel just so they know. And I always try to get that summary of the gospel in.
Sometimes that piques their interest. They thought we were going to be saying something different, and we’re not. It’s easy. It’s a free gift from God. God paid for that gift. Jesus Christ paid for it when He died, was buried, and rose from the dead. He paid for that gift. Could I show you how to take that gift so that you know you’re going to heaven? And that’s how we get people to listen. It’s a free gift. That’s God’s message to them. We use God’s message. And we give it all we got and we show them that we care. And we preach that gospel as much as we possibly can. So please pray for the people that are being saved out here in Louisville, Kentucky. And we appreciate your support. Please pray for us as we continue to go to all the areas out here in Louisville. There’s tons and tons of people that we got to get the gospel to out here. And thank you so much, and I hope you have a good day, hope you have a good night. Thank you.
