I Am Not Alone Because The Father Is With Me – A Biblical Perspective on the Trinity

📖 Understanding the Nature of God: The Trinity

Some so-called “Christian” denominations, such as Oneness Pentecostals, teach that God is one but deny the doctrine of the Trinity—that God is one God in three persons.

Instead, they promote Modalism, the belief that God exists in three modes—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—but only one mode at any given time. However, the Gospel of John refutes this false doctrine numerous times.

🔹 Biblical Truth: God Exists in Three Persons

  • God the Father
  • Jesus Christ the Son
  • The Holy Spirit

Each person in the Trinity is fully God and has always existed. The Bible teaches that all three have been present at all times, eternally.

📜 John 16:32 (KJV)

“Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.”

Jesus Himself confirms that He is not alone—the Father is with Him. This statement contradicts the Modalist view that only Jesus exists at a given time.

🚫 The Problems with Modalism

If Modalism were true, then:

  1. Jesus would be lying when He says, “I am not alone, because the Father is with me.”
  2. Scripture would contradict itself, as Jesus frequently speaks to the Father while on earth.
  3. Verses teaching the distinct persons of the Godhead would make no sense.

📖 John 8:16 (KJV)

“And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.”

Jesus makes it clear: He and the Father are distinct persons. He is not saying He is the Father, but that the Father sent Him.

📜 John 8:17-18 (KJV)

“It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

✅ According to the law, a valid testimony requires two witnesses. Jesus states that He is one witness and the Father is another—proving that both exist at the same time.

✝️ The Gospel of John Confirms the Trinity

📜 John 12:27-28 (KJV)

“Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour. Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.”

Who spoke from heaven?

  • If Modalism were true, Jesus would be talking to Himself—but He is speaking to the Father.
  • The Father’s voice from heaven confirms that the Father and the Son exist simultaneously.

📜 John 1:1 (KJV)

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

  • “The Word” (Jesus) was WITH God, meaning He was not alone.
  • He was not switching modes—He was distinct from the Father while also being God.

📜 1 John 5:7 (KJV)

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”

  • Three persons—not three modes.
  • Some argue this verse doesn’t belong in Scripture, but it perfectly aligns with the rest of the Bible.

🔍 The True Jesus Saves—Not the False Jesus of Modalism

Oneness Pentecostals and Modalists believe that:

  • There is only one God, and His only name is Jesus.
  • The Father’s name is Jesus, the Son’s name is Jesus, and the Holy Spirit’s name is Jesus.
  • Only one mode can exist at a time.

However, Jesus clearly distinguishes Himself from the Father in multiple verses.

If you follow the wrong Jesus, you will not be saved. You must believe in the biblical Jesus, not a man-made version that contradicts Scripture.

📜 John 8:47 (KJV)

“He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.”

🎯 Conclusion: The Trinity is Biblical Truth

  1. Jesus is not alone—the Father is with Him.
  2. The Father sent the Son, proving they are distinct persons.
  3. The Holy Spirit is also God, bearing witness in heaven (1 John 5:7).
  4. Modalism contradicts Scripture—Jesus frequently speaks to the Father as another person.
  5. Believing in the true Jesus is essential for salvation.

💡 God is not trying to trick us—His Word is clear. The Trinity is not a man-made doctrine; it is biblical truth from cover to cover. Amen. 🙏
