I Am Not Alone Because The Father Is With Me

There are some so-called “Christian” denominations out there today like the Oneness Pentecostals that believe God is one. They don’t believe that God is one God in three persons.

They believe there is one God in three modes. They believe that God switches between modes but there’s only one that exists at any given moment.

The Gospel of John destroys this false doctrine in hundreds of places. Actually, you can’t read and understand the Book of John without understanding that God is one God in three persons.

  1. God The Father
  2. Jesus Christ The Son Of God
  3. The Holy Spirit

Each of the different and distinct persons in the list above are each fully God. God the Father is God. Jesus Christ is God. The Holy Spirit is God.

God The Father, Jesus Christ, and The Holy Ghost Have All Existed At All Times In All Moments

They all are eternal and all three exist at all times. There’s never been a moment in existence that all three of them haven’t existed.

God the Father has always existed. Jesus Christ has always existed. The Holy Spirit has always existed.

With this Biblical understanding of God, the Gospel of John can be understood. The entire Bible can be understood. This is a very basic doctrine of Christianity because the Bible teaches that God is one God in three persons from cover to cover.

Today, I want to focus on one point in the Book of John that God makes. He wrote the Bible. I didn’t write it. I’m simply relaying this information to you today.

Can God Possibly Be One God In Three Modes?

If you believe that God switches from mode to mode and there isn’t more than one person, you cannot possibly believe the words in the Bible. It’s really that simple.

Jesus Christ himself, who is God, tells us over and over again that there is more than one.

Let’s read the subject Bible verse of this post today:

John 16:32 Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

Jesus Christ says, “I AM NOT ALONE, BECAUSE THE FATHER IS WITH ME.”

The Oneness Pentecostal or modalist comes up with some weird view that says, “Oh yeah, that’s right.” The Father is with Jesus because the Father is Jesus and the Father is within Jesus at that time. They will admit that there is no God in heaven while Jesus Christ is on earth.

At this time in John Chapter 16, they’ll say that God the Father doesn’t really exist in heaven. God the Father is not present at this time because he switched modes to Jesus Christ.

In reality, though, if God the Father wasn’t in heaven at this time Jesus Christ would be lying. He says, “FOR I AM NOT ALONE.” In other words, there’s someone else there. Who? God the Father.

If God Changes Modes And There’s Only One At Any Time, The Bible Would Be False

Let’s look at another verse that teaches us that Jesus is not alone.

John 8:16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.

Jesus again states very clearly that he is not alone. “For I am not alone.” Well, who else is with Jesus? The verse gives us that answer.

Notice what Jesus says exactly: “But I AND the Father that sent me.” Someone else sent Jesus. The Bible teaches us there’s more than one. “I and the Father.”

That’s two right there. “I” is Jesus Christ AND the Father. That’s two unless I forgot how to count correctly.

But let’s not stop there in John Chapter 8 verse 16. Now, let’s add the verses following verse 16.

John 8:16-18 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me. 17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. 18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

If Jesus were alone and he was the only one from heaven, that Scripture would be a lie. Yes, the Oneness Pentecostals have made up their own Jesus. Their Jesus doesn’t match the Jesus in the Bible.

And that’s very sad because the wrong Jesus won’t save you from hell. It doesn’t matter how much you speak in babble. It doesn’t matter how many times you dunk yourself under water. You need to believe on the right Jesus (the one in the Bible) to save you, and that’s it.

Modalists say that there’s only one God and his name is Jesus. God the Father’s name is Jesus. The Son of God’s name is Jesus. The Holy Spirit’s name is Jesus. Only one “JESUS” can exist at any one time. This is what they teach.

Jesus clearly teaches us that he needs another witness besides himself. He’s not alone. The Father sent him and bears witness of him. There’s more than one person.

Read The Gospel Of John For Yourself

Don’t take my word for it. Read the entire Book of John for yourself. You can read through it in one day.

Then tell me if Jesus Christ is trying to trick us.

John 12:27-28 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour. 28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

According to Modalism, Jesus Christ is talking to himself right there. He’s went crazy.

He says, “Father, save me from this hour.” According to the Oneness Pentecostals, he’s talking to the air. There’s no one else there. They say that only Jesus Christ exists right now. There is no one in heaven at this time.

But then a voice comes from heaven saying, “I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.”

What voice was that? Of course it is God the Father’s voice. Jesus Christ was just speaking to his Father. And God the Father speaks back FROM HEAVEN.

To me, that’s pretty easy to understand because I trust the words in the Bible. God isn’t trying to trick us. Jesus is never called God the Father. Not once. Jesus is the father of everlasting just as Abraham is called the father of many nations.

Jesus is the father of everlasting because he is in charge of everlasting life. He is in control of your salvation. We should trust what Jesus says and stop listening to man.

Jesus Is Not Alone Because His Father Is With Him

You can’t be alone and be with someone else. “Oh, well, I’m with myself.” That’s not what Jesus is saying.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Jesus is God. Jesus is the word of God. Jesus was WITH God. He wasn’t with himself. That’s not what the Bible teaches.

Please keep in mind that God isn’t the one trying to confuse you. Man is confusing you. God is not. He is not the author of confusion AT ALL.

1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

And yes, I know all the arguments about 1 John 5:7 and how it “supposedly” doesn’t belong in the Bible. That’s false. And it’s easy to prove and to see.

1 John 5:7 matches perfectly within the entire rest of the Bible. There’s plenty of proof that 1 John 5:7 belongs in the Bible.

If there aren’t three that bear record in heaven, the entire Book of John wouldn’t make any sense at all.

I hope you’ll see today that Jesus Christ isn’t lying to you when he tells you that he is not alone. Why? His Father is with him. It’s very obvious that the one true God is more than one person.
