How To Test For A Good Church

If you’re searching for a good church, what should you be looking for first and foremost?

Should you choose a church that’s fun and entertaining? A place with:
✔️ A flashy stage with concert-style lighting?
✔️ A dark atmosphere where you can’t even open your Bible to read?
✔️ Basketball courts, coffee shops, and fitness centers?

🛑 A real church is NOT a place for entertainment or convenience.

🚨 Beware of Churches That Cater to Fleshly Desires!

❌ If you want a fitness center, go to a gym.
❌ If you want a concert, go to a concert hall.
❌ If you want a coffee shop, visit one.
❌ But if you want a Bible-based church, it must focus on God’s Word!

💡 A true church should not be built on entertainment but on the foundation of Jesus Christ.

📌 But this isn’t even the most important test for a good church.

✅ The Most Important Test for a Good Church

Each church you visit must be put through this crucial test:

1️⃣ Ask Regular Attendees How to Be Saved

  • The members of the church should know how to tell you how to be saved.
  • Even the children should be able to tell you how to get to heaven.

2️⃣ Ask the Pastors or Preachers How to Be Saved

  • The pastor must clearly explain God’s plan for salvation.
  • If the pastor hesitates or adds conditions—🚨 red flag!

📖 A pastor should know the simplicity of the Gospel.

⚠️ Warning: If a Church Adds ANY Works to Salvation, It Is NOT a Good Church

If anyone in the church tells you that you must do anything other than believe in Jesus Christ to be saved, that is NOT a good church.

🚨 Examples of False Teachings About Salvation:
You must be baptized to be saved.
You must repent of your sins to be saved.
You must maintain good works to keep salvation.
You can lose your salvation.

💡 A Good Pastor Will Teach the Truth:
✔️ Salvation is through Jesus Christ ALONE.
✔️ His Death, Burial, and Resurrection are ENOUGH!
✔️ It’s all about Jesus—before, during, and after salvation.

📜 Scriptures That Prove Salvation is By Faith Alone

📌 The entire Bible teaches salvation through faith alone in Jesus Christ.

📖 Key Verses That Prove This Truth:

✔️ John 6:47Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

✔️ John 3:15-16That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

✔️ John 3:36He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

✔️ Ephesians 2:8-9For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

✔️ Acts 16:30-31And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

📌 Before choosing a church, make sure you understand these Scriptures.

📌 Additional Advice for Finding a Good Church

💡 DO NOT choose a church that adds ANY works to salvation.

🚨 False churches teach that your works contribute to salvation—this is NOT biblical!

✔️ Jesus Christ’s Sacrifice is ENOUGH.
✔️ There is NO other sacrifice for sins except Jesus Christ.
✔️ Salvation is through faith alone—NOT by works.

🔹 What Does it Mean to Be “Saved”?

📖 Salvation is a one-time event that happens the moment you believe in Jesus Christ.

📌 Once you are saved:
✅ You have everlasting life (John 6:47).
✅ You are not going to hell.
✅ You are going to heaven.
✅ You cannot lose your salvation.

💡 Many false churches teach that you can lose everlasting life—this makes no sense!

❌ Beware of Churches That Teach You Can Lose Salvation

If a church teaches that you can lose your everlasting life, they are contradicting God’s Word.

📖 1 John 5:10-13
“He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself… And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son… that ye may know that ye have eternal life.”

📌 You can KNOW you have eternal life right now.

💡 The Final Test for Any Church: Ask the Pastor This Question

🛑 “Can I lose everlasting life?”
✔️ If the pastor says “No, everlasting life lasts forever”—✅ Good Church
❌ If the pastor says “Yes, you can lose salvation”—🚨 False Church

⏳ Finding a Good Church Takes Time, But Don’t Give Up!

📌 Yes, it is difficult to find a truly Bible-based church.
✔️ But keep searching!
✔️ There are still good churches in this country.
✔️ Stick with a good church as long as they teach God’s Word faithfully.

📖 Final Biblical Encouragement

Acts 17:11These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

📌 Don’t blindly trust a church—TEST IT against Scripture!

🚀 Find a good church, stay faithful, and grow in God’s Word!

🙌 Final Summary

✔️ DO NOT choose a church based on entertainment or convenience.
✔️ A GOOD church teaches salvation by FAITH ALONE in Jesus Christ.
✔️ A FALSE church adds works to salvation (baptism, repenting of sin, good deeds, etc.).
✔️ Once saved, you HAVE everlasting life—you cannot lose it!
✔️ Test every church against the Bible before committing!
